Monochrome Monday a few Recent edits

Monochrome Monday a few Recent edits

Good Morning, I hope you had a good weekend.

As I tend to do, I am starting the week with a few Monochrome edits from recent and well semi recent walks.

Starting with this one taken in the Haskell Gardens here in New Bedford of the greenhouses, the cones were there as they were taking the greenhouses down, as they had deteriorated and were apparently beyond repair. I haven't been back to the gardens for a few weeks; I wonder if they have been completely removed by now,

Personally, I think it's a pity they had to be taken down I liked them, especially the colorful one, but I must go and check out the stats and see if they have replaced them with anything interesting. Which the signs hinted at.

Next up was when I visited the train station here in New Bedford early one morning; there had been rain the night before, and hence the puddle I caught in this photo.

One day I must take the train to Boston and enjoy a day there.

and this is looking down one of the historic streets here in New Bedford, Mechanics Lane; walking down it is like taking a step back in time.

This house is at the corner of Orchard and Hawthorne Streets in New Bedford. Apparently, it used to be owned by a doctor and was later set up as a bed-and-breakfast place. It is charming but needs some repairs and updates currently

And to finish of the Statue by the library, apparently when first made the man on board was based on a Cape Verdean fisherman, but before being installed those in charge wanted it to look more European, so the head was changed. Back inthe day somewhere in the city made and sold bookends with a replica of this statue, which seem to have sold well; many mentioned they had a set

That is a beautiful entrance to that house. Great shots. I hope they rebuild the green houses that they had to tear down.

  • Great monochormes 👍 its a pity about the greenhouses. I too really liked the one with the colored panels. Felt kind of like a 1970s vibe haha
