CCC's Street Art Contest #321: The little llamas invade the city
Good day, dear Street Art community, today I bring you more cute little llamas hehe. It's interesting to see so many because each artist gives them their own style, plus using this little animal so representative of my city.
Now, as a first step, I will show you the beautiful mural I found this time.
Title: Unnamed Location: City of La Paz, Bolivia Date of the work: 2022 Artist: Huayllas Photographs: Taken with my Xiaomi phone
The place where this mural is located is a tourist passage where a bit of our culture is also showcased. On these streets, they usually sell souvenirs for tourists, which can range from clothing and musical instruments to other types of more collectible merch, like keychains, paintings, or pins.
Also, on this street, they sell super colorful sweaters made from sheep's wool or other camelids, and I think that's where the representation of the little llamas in this mural comes from.
We can see a little llama weaving a sweater that says LAM. I think this is a store that sells this product. The cute thing is that they drew her as if she were an old little llama; I say this because of those thick glasses she uses to knit.
Behind her, we can see several balls of wool in different colors. And higher up, you can see the Illimani; a very well-known snow-capped mountain in La Paz.
And if we go to the other side, we have another stylish little llama wearing sunglasses and posing for us hehe.
Above her, we can see another symbol of our country: the condor, with its wings fully spread, as if it were preparing to fly.
I love that the entire background has a great variety of colors that accompany this beautiful scene of the llamas. And, obviously, there are also the colorful umbrellas that are hanging.
This passage became very well-known not only for selling souvenirs and typical things from the city but also for the postcard you can take with all these umbrellas hanging. I know there are similar places in various countries, and I think they give the city a very beautiful and colorful touch.
Well, I hope you liked this mural, and if you ever visit my city, don't forget to take photos with this scenery.
See you in the next post.
