LOH Contest #311: Encontrar mi propio camino | [ESP/ENG]

¡Buenos días, comunidad de Ladies of Hive!

¿O realmente has hecho lo que has querido y soñado?

LOH Contest #311: Finding My Own Path

Good morning, Ladies of Hive community! I hope you have a wonderful week.

Once again, I am participating in the LOH dynamic, which this time brings us questions about our life purpose, a great topic for today.

Let's get started!

🪞 I invite you to see yourself where you want to be, and not where others have placed you or opined you should be. Is your life a reflection of others' opinions? Of your parents, family, friends? Or have you really done what you wanted and dreamed of?

I think it's a combination of both because, since I was little, I have had the support of my parents and my family in general. Of course, each of them had different ideas about my future, my education, my work, my relationships, etc.

But I think I have managed to take those suggestions and adapt them to my tastes and preferences. For example, I remember that my mom almost forced me to enrolll in a university that, to be honest, wasn't among my top choices, but to not miss the opportunity, I decided to enroll.

There, the program I wanted wasn't available, so they tried to offer me a similar one. However, it wasn't the same: I wanted to study Accounting and they offered me Finance. After analyzing it well, I chose Commercial Engineering.

The truth is, taking the risk to change direction was very beneficial for me, because later I realized I was exactly where I wanted to be, from the subjects to the opportunities to create or manage businesses, in short, this opened many doors for me.

In this case, I took my mom's suggestion into account, but I adapted it to something I really wanted. I know that our parents and family members usually want the best for us, and I take that into account, but we should also ask ourselves if what they advise is really what we want for our lives.

In my case, I believe that if I had followed another professional path, I would have become frustrated and would not have found something I truly enjoy.

Now, if we talk about other areas of my life, I believe I have always taken my family's opinions into account, because I think everything they have taught me has been very helpful.

I believe that I am indeed where I want to be. Obviously, I want to keep growing and improving, but right now I feel very happy with everything I have achieved.

So, with the help of my family, I have been able to do what I wanted and fulfilll some of my dreams.

🧬 Starting from the phrase: "Identify your talent, and your purpose will appear," how many times have you asked yourself why you are here in this world, or what your purpose in life is?

This is one of my favorite topics, in fact, I had written an entire post about the purpose of life, it would be great if you read it as it brings valuable lessons and tips.

I find the phrase interesting, I had never heard it before, but I think it has a lot to do with the purpose of life and, as I mentioned in my other post, with ikigai.

This is a question I have always asked myself because, sometimes, I feel like I was wandering aimlessly. Even though I like to do many things at once, at times it seems like I don't have a clear goal. But I always try to take into account everything that finding ikigai entails.

This idea comes from Japan; it is said that when you find your ikigai, you also find your reason to live. In my case, I am still in that search, but I believe I am getting closer.

I say this because I know what I like and I know which activities could generate income for me, but I still need to connect those dots and, well, also have the courage to start my own business.

In the meantime, I am also training and learning new things that will help me achieve this goal.

In my case, it has been a bit complicated because my career has always been considered a combination of various areas, and the truth is, I have always liked learning a little bit about everything. For example, administration, marketing, finance, economics, human resources, among others.

I consider this career ideal if you want to create or manage your own business, and that's what I'm looking for. However, I still don't know exactly what kind of business I would like to have.

I have also realized that I really enjoy helping people and participating in different communities and volunteer work. Although you learn a lot from these experiences, they don't pay you, haha, but the truth is I feel so happy being able to help others that I could ignore it.

That's what I used to think some time ago, but now I realize that I also need money to achieve other goals, travel, have a business, and other things. So I am in the stage of discovering what I can do that I like and that, at the same time, generates income for me.

So I'm still working on it, but I feel like I'm getting closer to finding my purpose.

Thank you for reading, and see you in the next post!
