My review of Cinderella (2015)
Good afternoon, Scrobble Life community, today I bring you this lovely movie which, in my opinion, is one of the most interesting adaptations of fairy tales.
🎬 A bit of context
It all starts when Ella was happily living with her father and mother, but one day her mother fell seriously ill until she passed away. So, for the following years, Ella lived alone with her father.
Until he saw that his daughter needed a mother and decided to marry a woman who had also lost her husband and had two daughters the same age as Ella. But some time later, he also ended up dying.
So Ella stayed with her stepmother and her stepsisters. It seemed that everything was going to be fine because, while the father was alive, they treated Ella very well, but everything changed.
They started treating her like someone from the servant class, even giving her a nickname that matched what she did: Cinderella, that is, she was always covered in ashes from all the cleaning.
She, upon seeing all that, decided to move on with her life; despite the mistreatment, she tried to see the positive side of things and carry on with everything.
Until one day the prince returns to the village, and the king decides to organize a welcome ball for him, so he sends invitations to all the eligible maidens so that the prince could finally find a bride and get married.
But certain things will happen that will push Cinderella to the limit of her goodness and finally decide to free herself from those invisible chains she seemed to have.
If you want to know what happens, I invite you to watch the movie. And if you've already seen it, keep reading my post.
TRAILER:
♥ What I liked the most
As everyone must know, this is the live-action version of the most famous children's story in the world: Cinderella.
If we compare it to the animated movie, we could say that it includes almost all the important scenes; I think they added many others, but it is true to the story.
One of the scenes I liked the most is when the fairy godmother appears. One would think an old woman would appear, but no: an adult fairy appears who seems to be very funny in her behavior, a bit forgetful, but good-hearted.
When she appears and helps her get ready for the royal ball, she makes a pumpkin grow quite large to turn into a carriage, but she doesn't realize that the space is limited because they were in a closed place, so they both end up getting squished against the walls by such a huge vegetable, haha.
Then, another very beautiful scene is when she meets the prince for the first time: even though she doesn't know who he is, she treats him like any other boy, but you can feel that there is a great connection between them.
Something interesting is that she was very cultured and intelligent, so she could hold a super interesting conversation with anyone and almost on any topic.
Obviously, the scene I liked the most is when the fairy godmother creates the dress for her: very beautiful, indeed, a medium blue color, with butterflies as decorations, among other details that make that dress unique. Additionally, it had the classic glass slippers.
Then, when she appears at the ball, to everyone's astonishment, she goes down to meet that guy (who turned out to be the prince), chat, and then dance as if no one else were around.
A nice detail is when the prince and She share another moment in a secret place he showed her: they swing while sharing personal things. Until the bells ring, announcing that all the magic would soon disappear.
☁ Some reflections
This poor young woman had to endure, since she was little, the mistreatment from her own family. But something I always wonder is why she always let them treat her that way, why she didn't do anything about it, and if they didn't listen to her, why she didn't leave that place.
Because, according to the movie, she was a very strong woman, but maybe she was indeed afraid to do it, or she thought things could be worse if she decided to leave.
Or maybe because of some promise she made to her father to stay with them and not be alone. But well, if that's the case, I think one prefers to be alone than in bad company.
But well, another thing that amazes me is that, despite having suffered so much, she forgives them and was never upset by everything they did to her; rather, she tells them they should change to improve.
This girl truly had a big heart and was very noble.
I hope you liked this review and I would like to know which scene you liked the most.
See you in the next post!
