Snoopy Come Home (1972): A Journey Between Love and Loyalty
Happy Tuesday, Scrobble community! Today I bring you this Snoopy movie, it's super old, but I just watched it and it brought back very nice memories.
Get comfortable, grab your pet, and let the movie begin!
🎬 A little context
Charlie Brown has had Snoopy as a pet for a long time. This, without a doubt, was a very particular dog; one could even say he lives his life as if he were a human.
He goes out for walks, goes to the beach, and meets up with his human friends, not necessarily accompanied by his owner; he lives his own life, haha. But Charlie always feeds him and gives him a little house to live in.
One day, Snoopy receives a letter with important news, Lila, a girl who knew Snoopy very well, was in the hospital and asked him to visit her. So, without thinking twice, the little dog sets off on the journey accompanied by his friend Woodstock, a little yellow bird.
Charlie Brown, very confused, watches as his pet leaves without giving any explanation, but he finds the letter the girl had sent him and starts to wonder who she could be.
Snoopy and Woodstock had to travel for a long time because that hospital seemed very far away, and the worst part was that their journey got longer because in several means of transportation they tried to use, dogs were not allowed, so they were kicked out everyplace.
After a long journey, they manage to reach the hospital and see Lila. During the visit, they had to hide several times from the doctors and nurses because dogs were not allowed in that place either.
Apparently, the girl was about to leave the hospital and wanted to take Snoopy to live with her. He didn't know what to do because he already had a family, but he also didn't want to leave Lila alone.
So he started to think about what he could do. Do you think he will go with Lila or return to Charlie? If you want to know, I invite you to watch the movie, because you won't believe the decision this little dog makes thinking about the two people he loves.

♥ What I liked the most
This movie is super sweet and funny. I hadn't seen it in a long time, I had even forgotten several scenes and how the ending unfolded.
One of the scenes I liked the most is the one where Snoopy enjoys his day at the beach with his friends. Even though he was a dog that did his own thing, he always seems to have a great time anywhere and, moreover, he has many friends.
He is enjoying the waves, building sandcastles, and eating very happily with his friends, who are children and not dogs, haha.
I have always thought of him as a very particular little dog because he seems like just another person, knows many things, goes wherever he wants, but always returns to his human friend, Charlie's house. Moreover, when he needs it, he is always by his side.
I like that he is a very loyal little dog to his owner, but he also responds to the call of his friends when they need him, like in the case of the girl Lila, who, as you may have seen, was Snoopy's former owner.
That's why, without thinking, he decides to make that long journey to the hospital just to see her and keep her company.
During this trip, many things happened to him; wherever he went, he encountered the famous sign "no dogs allowed." This also made his trip take longer.
He even goes so far as to complain through a letter about the presence of that sign on the beach, but I imagine they never paid attention to him because he was a dog, haha.
After Snoopy left, Charlie was left with several questions about who that girl was, why she left, and so were the neighborhood kids. Everyone thought they had treated him badly and that's why he left.
Until one day Linus, one of Charlie's friends, discovers that Snoopy had another family before Charlie, and it was precisely the girl who was in the hospital and whom he went to visit.
It was then that Charlie became very sad and thought that maybe his dog preferred to live with that girl and not with him.
I really liked that Snoopy showed so much affection to both owners; in Lila's case, he decided to go live with her because he knew she needed him and because he still cared for her and missed her.
But it was clear that he wasn't entirely sure about wanting to go with her until he arrived at her new house and saw the sign he had encountered so many times during his journey: "no dogs." So for the first time, he became very happy, said goodbye to the girl, and decided to return to Charlie.
In this part, Charlie and his friends throw a farewell party for Snoopy, they said some emotional words, gave him gifts, and cried. It was very sweet and sad.
Upon returning, Snoopy was warmly welcomed by everyone, as they had grown very fond of that little dog. But the funny thing that broke that emotional atmosphere, hehe, was that Snoopy had given away his belongings to several children before leaving, so he asked for them back.
Everyone, angry, said they wouldn't do it and left, leaving Snoopy and Charlie to solve the problem, haha.
The truth is, a very crazy little dog but very special to everyone.
💭 Some reflections
I have always liked the character of this little dog. I think he is very confident, flirty, fun, and a very good friend.
I imagine having a little dog like that, and I think I had one that looked a lot like it, his name was Charlie and he seemed to live his life without worries and doing whatever he wanted. Sometimes, he even ran away from home, I don't know if to go for a walk or seek adventures, but he always came back.
Other times he ran away to see his girlfriend, yes, with whom he had a puppy that we adopted, haha. Seriously, that dog was quite a character, he made us laugh and sometimes frustrated us, but we loved him very much.
Before I finish, I'll also share some things about Snoopy that I've been collecting, there must be more, but these are the most recent ones haha.
Thank you for reading, see you in the next post.
