But for Aang, even though he loves Katara and is happy with his friends Sokka, Zuko, and Toph, there is something that prevents him from fully enjoying all he has achieved so far: no matter what, he is the last of his people—the last Airbender. He feels that when he dies, he will have no legacy to leave behind, since he cannot expect his children to be like him in the future. He wants to find at least one other person who is an Airbender.
But it’s not all that simple, because according to the story, there’s no one left—or at least that’s what Aang thinks—until he finds an orb containing another Airbender named Tagah, one who had been frozen for thousands of years for reasons unknown. Aang is confident that, together with Tagah, they’ll be able to rebuild the Air Nation, especially with the help of the staff that was given to another Air Avatar, who was able to help train masters—those born without abilities can gain them thanks to this staff. But not everything is as rosy as it seems, because Aang, caught between his fear and obsession with not being the last of the Airbenders, fails to notice the reality around him and what Tagah is hiding.
The situation for airbenders is certainly disheartening, but Aang must learn that everything has its time, and if he’s at least there, it means that all is not lost, that the past must remain in the past, and all that’s left is to look ahead and build things up the best way possible, learning from past mistakes and finding a way to resolve whatever comes up in the moment—even if it’s hard and seems difficult, all that’s left is to keep going.

La historia parte siendo Aang todo ya un adulto al igual que sus compañeros, luego de lograr vencer la corrupción de la nación del fuego, han creado una ciudad capaz de unir las diferentes naciones, que convivan sin temer que otra le haga daño y mantener el legado de los maestros de cada elemento, un sueño que han ido construyendo con esfuerzo y dedicación, pero para Aang aunque ama a Katara y es feliz con sus amigos Sokka, Zuko y Toph, hay algo que no lo deja disfrutar de todo lo que ha logrado hasta ahora, ya que sea como sea es el último de su pueblo, el ultimo maestro de aire, por lo que el sentimiento que al morir no habrá nada de legado que dejar, ya que no puede esperar que sus hijos sean igual que él en el futuro, quiere encontrar al menos otra persona que sea maestro de aire.
