Hello, internet people! Today I want to give you a brief review of this film that I always found quite entertaining and even funny, and that deals with one of the mythologies I like the most, the Greek mythology.
¡Hola, gente de Internet! Hoy quiero hacerles una breve review de esta película que siempre me pareció bastante entretenida e incluso divertida, y que trata sobre una de las mitologías que más me gustan, la griega.
The film is told from Percy's point of view, so we discover with surprise that he is a semi-god because he is the son of Poseidon (God of the seas) and he is accused of having stolen his uncle Zeus' lightning bolt (in fact it is Zeus who is angry and chasing him) and so Percy must, with his friends, unravel the truth about the thief and prove his innocence, but he only has 3 days.
La película está narrada desde el punto de vista de Percy, así que descubrimos con sorpresa que es un semi dios debido a que es hijo de Poseidón (Dios de los mares) y le acusan de haberse robado el rayo de su tío Zeus (de hecho es Zeus quien está enfadado y lo persigue) es así como Percy debe, con sus amigos, desentrañar la verdad sobre el ladrón y demostrar su inocencia, pero solo tiene 3 días.
Something that shocks me a bit about Percy as a character is that he is the typical Mery Sue, it's clear that all heroes should be stronger than the villains, but there should be a balance, they should be better but they should have a hard time beating the villain. However, Percy after putting his hand in the water (literally) became invincible 😅😅 even beating Anabeth who had years of training. Otherwise, he is quite a charismatic and empathetic character.
Algo que me choca un poco de Percy como personaje es que es el típico Mery Sue, está claro que todos los héroes deben ser más fuertes que los villanos, pero en esto debe haber un equilibrio, deben ser mejores pero debe costarles trabajo vencer al villano. Sin embargo, Percy, después de meter la mano en el agua (literalmente) se volvió invencible 😅😅 incluso superando a Anabeth quien tenía años de entrenamiento. Por lo demás, es un personaje bastante carismático y empático.
As for the story, I find it quite creative and a good adaptation of mythology, according to the convenience of the plot, and I liked that while Hades is portrayed as a danger (which I don't know why because the truth is Zeus was worse) the real villain ends up being someone who is supposed to be an ally, so I liked that twist plot.>
En cuanto a la historia, me parece bastante creativa y una buena adaptación de la mitología, según la conveniencia de la trama, y me gustó que si bien se retrata a Hades como un peligro (que no sé porqué si la verdad Zeus era peor) el verdadero villano termina siendo alguien que se supone es un aliado, así que ese twist plot me gustó.
The film is dynamic in the composition of its scenes which keeps the viewer attentive. It has quite impressive photography and special effects, on the other hand I feel that it is not predictable in a certain way until almost the climax, which is where you can tie up loose ends, which I think is a good thing.
La película resulta dinámica en la composición de sus escenas, lo que mantiene al espectador atento. Tiene una fotografía y efectos especiales bastante impresionantes, por otro lado siento que no es predecible de cierta manera, sino hasta casi el clímax, que es dónde puedes atar cabos, esto me pareció un acierto.
But of course it is not a good adaptation of the books and I say this even without having read them, because what is in sight does not need glasses, it is clear that some films based on books like Harry Potter, for example, leave some questions unanswered and the readers already know the answers beforehand, however they are not a big deal, but in Percy Jackson there are thousands of unanswered questions and it is a big flaw in a film, the fact that they are not answered by themselves.
Pero claro está que no es una buena adaptación de los libros y lo digo aún sin haberlos leído, porque lo que está a la vista no necesita anteojos, está claro que algunas películas basadas en libros como Harry Potter, por ejemplo, deja alguna que otra pregunta sin respuesta y los lectores ya saben esas respuestas de antemano, sin embargo no son cosa del otro mundo, pero en Percy Jackson hay miles de preguntas sin respuestas y es un gran fallo en una película, el hecho de que no se respondan por sí solas.
I still think it's a very funny film and I enjoyed it a lot at the time and I still enjoy it today.
Aún así me parece una película muy divertida y que disfruté bastante en su momento y que de hecho a día de hoy disfruto.
