These days have been full of many occupations, I haven't been able to watch any series, honestly I need to, so when I had a moment of rest to finally sit in front of the TV I decided to look for a movie to relax, something motivating, I didn't want any drama, nothing mysterious and complicated, preferably something that would make me laugh, that's how I found Dream Horse, a real life story that promised to be motivating and inspiring.

It's not a newly released film, in fact, it was released in 2020 in the midst of pandemic confinement, but it was recently added to the HBO max platform, as it was initially on HULU. That's how I found it, checking on what was recently added on HBO, and who knows this platform, knows that the reviews that accompany their programming are poor, and don't have a trailer, so I almost blindly chose the movie, to be pleasantly surprised.
Debo decir que esta película y su mensaje me cayeron como anillo al dedo, porque se ajusta a la realidad que muchas personas vivimos a cierta edad, saber que es una historia de la vida real, brinda esperanza y motiva, además ver que su protagonista es Toni Collete me atrajo más, por que casualmente hace poco termine de ver su ultimo trabajo en la serie Pieces of Her, y un poco más atrás su papel en Nigthmare Ally, como siempre con un trabajo destacado. No es una película recién estrenada, de hecho, se estrenó en 2020 en pleno confinamiento por la pandemia, pero fue recientemente agregado a la plataforma de HBO max, ya que inicialmente estuvo en HULU. Fue así como la encontré, revisando en lo agregado recientemente en HBO, y quien conoce esta plataforma, sabe que las reseñas que acompañan a su programación son pobres, y que no cuentan con trailer, así que casi que a ciegas elegí la película, para llevarme una grata sorpresa.
Story
Dream Horse tells the story of Jan Vokes played by Toni Collette, a woman from a small Welsh town, whose life is full of monotony and routines that never seem to end, she has to work two jobs, during the day as a cashier in a cooperative market and in the evenings after visiting her elderly parents, as a waitress in a canteen. In addition, she lives alone with her lazy husband Brian played by Owen Teale, an unmotivated man who had good times, but now lives only to watch television.

Logran el objetivo y nace Dream Alliance un caballo con muy buenos genes, pero en las condiciones más humildes, criado en el patio trasero de Jan, en un cobertizo rudimentario, pero pese a todo pronóstico Jan y sus vecinos logran meta tras meta hasta colocar a Dream (caballo) en buenas manos pasa ser entrenado para las carreras. Cuentan con la asesoría y acompañamiento de Howard (Damian) que, con sus conocimientos de finanzas e hipismo, se suma a la alianza emocionado por retomar sus sueños y saciar su sed de gloria, y es así como todas estas humildes personas empiezan su camino para llevar a Dream hasta el Welsh Grand National.
Opinion
The film in its first hour takes you by the hand through a series of acts that conclude positively, I liked that, but there came a moment where I was also distressed, being accustomed to the tragedy that must be overcome, and it was not until well into the film, that the events take a turn that puts a pause to all the successes that had been achieved so far.
La película en su primera hora te lleva de la mano a través de una serie de actos que concluyen positivamente, eso me gusto, pero llego un momento donde también me angustio, al estar acostumbrado a que siempre llega la tragedia que se debe superar, y no fue sino hasta bien entrada la película, que los hechos dan un vuelco que pone pausa a todos los aciertos que habían logrado hasta ese momento.

I think the film takes advantage of this story of reality to show that anyone, regardless of their background, if they set their mind to it, can achieve what they set out to do, it all depends on the commitment and hard work they put into it, that sitting idly by waiting for things to happen will never be the path to success, and even less to give meaning back to our lives if at some point we have lost our way and we have lost our way without direction, without goals, without an objective.
Cualquiera puede verse reflejado en Jan (Toni) una mujer que después de tantos años de rutina y monotonía quiere sentir nuevamente que esta viva, o que tiene una razón de ser, ella la encuentra en la crianza de un caballo que exigía el máximo esfuerzo y lo mejor que ella podía dar, además logra motivar nuevamente a su esposo, dándole una razón para abandonar el sillón y dedicarse a una actividad que conecta su pasado con el presente, revitalizando de alguna forma su matrimonio. Creo que la película aprovecha esta historia de la realidad para demostrar que cualquiera, sin importar su procedencia, si se lo propone, puede alcanzar lo que se trace, todo depende del empeño y trabajo duro que le imprima, que quedarnos sentados de brazos cruzados esperando que las cosas ocurran jamás será el camino al éxito, y menos para dar sentido nuevamente a nuestras vidas si en algún momento hemos perdido el camino y nos hayamos perdidos sin rumbo, sin metas, sin un objetivo.

The film is very simple, but very emotional positively speaking, not to make you cry, but rather to give you joy and even a lot of laughter because it was able to add the funny component in several scenes. The cinematography is undoubtedly one of its best technical aspects, the soundtrack not so much, but it is nothing to reject the film. The moments of action are well represented in the horse races, which without being a fan of this sport can see you immersed in the excitement of this competition, in short it is a fresh, motivational film with a great message.
La película es muy sencilla, pero bien emotiva positivamente hablando, no para hacerte llorar, mas bien para darte alegrías e incluso mucha risa porque se supo agregar el componente chistoso en varias escenas. La fotografía es sin duda uno de sus mejores aspectos técnicos, la banda sonora no tanto, pero no es nada como para rechazar la película. Los momentos de acción están bien representados en las carreras de caballos, que sin ser fanático de este deporte te puede ver inmerso en la emoción de esta competencia, en fin es una película fresca, motivadora, con un gran mensaje.
