A pesar de que el mundo friki es uno de mis mundos favoritos, y no siento pena alguna en pertenecer aquí, esta es la primera vez que aparezco en esta comunidad, incluso cuando siempre estoy mirando las publicaciones para agregar animes nuevos a mi lista🤭

Desde algunas de sus películas más reconocidas como Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) o El Tiempo Contigo (Tenki no Ko), Makoto Shinkai nos ha regalado maravillosas obras audiovisuales, y es que las películas dirigidas por este genio tienen un toque especial y diferente, regalándonos historias originales y entretenidas, que seguramente le sacaron suspiros a muchas personas. Suzume no Tojimari, o simplemente Suzume, es la nueva película que nos brinda Shinkai, y para nuestro agrado llegó a los cines latinoamericanos este año. Tuve la oportunidad de verla en la pantalla grande la semana pasada, quedé completamente encantada y no podía esperar más para contarles mi opinión🥰

Even though the geek world is one of my favorite worlds, and I don't feel any shame in belonging here, this is the first time I appear in this community, even when I'm always looking at the posts to add new anime to my list🤭.

From some of his most recognized films like Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) or Weathering with You (Tenki no Ko), Makoto Shinkai has given us wonderful audiovisual works, and is that the films directed by this genius have a special and different touch, giving us original and entertaining stories, which surely took sighs out of many people. Suzume no Tojimari, or simply Suzume, is the new film that Shinkai brings us, and to our delight it arrived in Latin American theaters this year. I had the opportunity to see it on the big screen last week, I was completely enchanted and could not wait to tell you my opinion🥰.

Suzume es nuestra principal protagonista, una chica de 17 años, que vive en el pequeño pueblo de Kyushu, en Japón, junto a su tía materna. Una mañana de camino a la escuela se encuentra con un joven desconocido que le pregunta si conoce la ubicación de unas ruinas cercanas, dado que estaba “buscando una puerta”. Llena de intriga, Suzume decide perseguir al desconocido y se dirige a las ruinas, donde encuentra una puerta misteriosa. Al abrirla se topa con una nueva dimensión, sin embargo, no logra entrar, pero descubre un enigmático objeto en el piso, así qué asustada, huye corriendo de las ruinas.

Ya en el salón de clases observa por la ventana un evento incomprensible en el cielo, que provenía de la ubicación de las ruinas, ella regresa al lugar solo para encontrarse con el joven que había conocido, quién se presenta como Souta, luchando para cerrar la puerta que Suzume abrió. Desde ese momento, el mundo rutinario de Suzume se complica al involucrarse en un enfrentamiento con el “más allá”, y teniendo que detener una serie de eventos catastróficos que podrían destruir la seguridad de la población, debe viajar por todo Japón junto a Souta (quién sufre una pequeña transformación) para cerrar las misteriosas puertas entre dimensiones que continúan abiertas y que podrían dejar escapar “algo” que causaría la destrucción de la humanidad. Oh, todo esto, persiguiendo a un pequeño gato que anticipa la ubicación de los próximos desastres.

Suzume is our main protagonist, a 17-year-old girl, who lives in the small town of Kyushu, Japan, with her maternal aunt. One morning on her way to school, she meets a young stranger who asks her if she knows the location of some nearby ruins, since she was "looking for a door". Filled with intrigue, Suzume decides to pursue the stranger and heads for the ruins, where she finds a mysterious door. When she opens it, she encounters a new dimension, however, she does not manage to enter, but discovers an enigmatic object on the floor, so scared, she runs away from the ruins.

Already in the classroom she observes through the window an incomprehensible event in the sky, which came from the location of the ruins, she returns to the place only to meet the young man she had met, who introduces himself as Souta, struggling to close the door that Suzume opened. From that moment on, Suzume's routine world becomes complicated as she gets involved in a confrontation with the "beyond", and having to stop a series of catastrophic events that could destroy the safety of the population, she must travel all over Japan together with Souta (who undergoes a small transformation) to close the mysterious doors between dimensions that remain open and that could let “something” escape that would cause the destruction of mankind. Oh, all this, chasing a small cat that anticipates the location of the next disasters.

Makoto Shinkai vuelve a apostar por uno de los clichés que amamos ver en el anime, una pareja de adolescentes que busca salvar el mundo de la destrucción total. Sin embargo, como en sus películas anteriores, nos presenta una historia original, que a pesar de ser fácil de comprender, sigue siendo un tanto compleja e interesante, mostrándonos la realidad de una sociedad sobreviviente a desastres naturales.

Y es impresionante, al mismo tiempo que aterrador, la manera en que los japoneses están alerta a cualquier señal de sismo, además, hace referencia a los terribles sucesos del fuerte sismo y posterior tsunami de 2011 en Japón. Recordándonos que la madre naturaleza siempre será la mayor fuerza. Fue un aspecto de la trama que mantiene en tensión al espectador.

Mainly. Please don't chase unknown boys into strange ruins in the middle of nowhere, no matter how cute the aforementioned guy is🤭

Makoto Shinkai once again goes for one of the clichés we love to see in anime, a teenage couple looking to save the world from total destruction. However, as in his previous films, he presents us with an original story, which despite being easy to understand is still somewhat complex and interesting, showing us the reality of a society surviving natural disasters.

And it is impressive, as well as terrifying, the way the Japanese are alert to any sign of an earthquake, in addition, it makes reference to the terrible events of the strong earthquake and subsequent tsunami of 2011 in Japan. Reminding us that Mother Nature will always be the greatest force. It was an aspect of the plot that keeps the viewer on edge.

Es muy probable que la gran fama de este director se deba a las maravillas visuales de sus películas, sinceramente la animación es su punto fuerte. Desde la fantasía, la aventura y misterio, hasta el romance, Makoto sabe cómo entretenernos 😌

El diseño de las ciudades, las expresiones de los personajes, la forma de los animales y criaturas, y lo mejor de todo: la dimensión del “más allá”. Es impresionante. Los colores, las formas, el diseño de los detalles, la creatividad e ingenio fueron altas. Al ver la película en la pantalla grande todos estos aspectos eran más increíbles, se sentía real. Los efectos visuales son la primera razón por la cual recomiendo sus películas, dado que no decepciona en ningún sentido.

It is very likely that the great fame of this director is due to the visual wonders of his films, sincerely animation is his strong point. From fantasy, adventure, and mystery to romance, Makoto knows how to entertain us 😌.

The design of the cities, the expressions of the characters, the shape of the animals and creatures, and best of all: the “afterlife” dimension. It's breathtaking. The colors, the shapes, the detail design, the creativity, and ingenuity were high. Watching the movie on the big screen, all these aspects were more incredible, it felt real. The visual effects are the first reason why I recommend his films, since it does not disappoint in any way.

Considero que esta pareja tiene mucha química, tienen personalidades similares y hacen clic desde la primera escena (y sí, yo también seguiría a Souta😍)

Suzume es una chica carismática, valiente y decidida, es tan fácil empatizar con ella y tomarle cariño 🥺 Toma la decisión de ayudar a una persona desconocida que necesita urgentemente su ayuda, y así se embarga en este gran viaje. Su personalidad brillante ilumina los corazones de varios personajes secundarios durante la historia. A pesar de tener traumas de su pasado que aún la atormentan, es un personaje resiliente que continúa adelante, sin darse por vencida ante ningún obstáculo.

Souta también es un personaje muy lindo, divertido y encantador, sabe cómo ganarse nuestros corazones. Es solo un joven universitario que quiere salvar el mundo, pero aun así tiene sus metas personales, y un fuerte deseo por vivir. Normalmente en el anime encontramos grandes personajes que no les importa sacrificarse por un bien mayor, y si bien, Souta también comparte esa idea, él primero hará todo lo posible para solucionar el problema y seguir viviendo para contarlo.

I consider this couple to have a lot of chemistry, they have similar personalities, and they click from the first scene (and yes, I would follow Souta too😍)

Suzume is a charismatic, brave and determined girl, it's so easy to empathize with her and take a liking to her 🥺 She makes the decision to help an unknown person who urgently needs her help, and so she embarks on this great journey. Her bright personality lights up the hearts of several secondary characters during the story. Despite having traumas from her past that still haunt her, she is a resilient character who carries on, never giving up in the face of any obstacle.

Souta is also a very cute, funny and charming character, he knows how to win our hearts. He is just a young college student who wants to save the world, but still has his personal goals, and a strong desire to live. Usually in anime we find great characters who don't mind sacrificing themselves for the greater good, and while, Souta also shares that idea, he will first do his best to solve the problem and still live to tell the tale.

Los personajes secundarios que van apareciendo en este gran viaje a través de Japón son interesantes, todos le aportan su granito de arena a la trama, y de alguna manera son importantes para el curso de la historia. Pero, sin duda alguna, mi favorito fue Daijin. Un gato blanco que aparece en cada lugar del prominente desastre, alterando las vidas de nuestros protagonistas de diferentes maneras.

Obviamente, es más que solo un animal, pero me encanta la idea de presentar este personaje en forma de gato, dado a qué tiene esas características peculiares de los felinos: independiente, curioso, enérgico, encantador, siempre siguiendo su propia voluntad, enloqueciendo así a los humanos 🤭 Por alguna razón a mí me encantó Daijin, desde el primer momento, quizás está un poco loco, pero al final nos damos cuenta de que es grandioso.

The secondary characters that appear in this great journey through Japan are interesting, they all contribute to the plot, and in some ways are important to the course of the story. But, without a doubt, my favorite was Daijin. A white cat that appears in every prominent disaster location, altering the lives of our protagonists in different ways.

Obviously, he is more than just an animal, but I love the idea of presenting this character in the form of a cat, since he has those peculiar characteristics of felines: independent, curious, energetic, charming, always following his own will, thus driving humans crazy 🤭 For some reason I loved Daijin, from the first moment, maybe he is a little crazy, but at the end we realize that he is great.

Para concluir, Suzume es una película que representa mucho más que solo “salvar el mundo”, es la representación de por qué es importante estar en paz con nosotros mismos, y con todos nuestros demonios personales✨

Makoto Shinkai nos intenta enseñar cómo el dolor de la pérdida puede concluir en aceptación y fortaleza. ¿Es una historia de amor? Sí, lo es ❤ ️ Pero es más que solo un romance entre dos jóvenes. Nos muestra el amor como el centro de todo, ese amor por nuestros familiares, nuestros amigos, por nuestros sueños, pero más importante, por nosotros mismos. Nos muestra cómo el amor nos ayuda a superar cada adversidad.

Ver como Suzume se supera a sí misma, sana sus heridas y se encuentra consigo misma, es inspirador, y merece ser recomendada✨❤️ Además, un bonus extra, es el maravilloso soundtrack, especialmente la canción principal (llamada Suzume no Tojimari) que simboliza la nostalgia, misterio y fortaleza que demuestra la historia.

To conclude, Suzume is a film that represents much more than just “saving the world”, it is the representation of why it is important to be at peace with ourselves, and all our personal demons✨.

Makoto Shinkai tries to teach us how the pain of loss can conclude in acceptance and strength. Is it a love story? Yes, it is ❤️ But it's more than just a romance between two young people. It shows us love as the center of everything, that love for our family members, our friends, for our dreams, but most importantly, for ourselves. It shows us how love helps us overcome every adversity.

Seeing how Suzume overcomes herself, heals her wounds and finds herself, is inspiring, and deserves to be recommended✨❤️ Also, an extra bonus, is the wonderful soundtrack, especially the main song (called Suzume no Tojimari) that symbolizes the nostalgia, mystery, and strength that the story shows.
