Hello friends, after almost a month without writing anything about movies, for some time I did not have the opportunity to go to the cinema because the current titles do not really attract me, however, this time I decided to go to the cinema to witness the premiere of Top Gun Maverick, a sequel to the original released in 1984 starring Tom Cruies and Val Kilmer and the truth is that I was in the presence of a great cinematographic work, with a solid story, a well-implemented script and very believable performances. Then I will tell you my appreciations without making spoilers of the movie.
Hola amigos, después de casi un mes sin escribir nada acerca de películas, durante algún tiempo no tuve la oportunidad de ir al cine porque realmente los títulos actuales no me atraen, sin embargo, esta vez decidí ir al cine para presenciar el estreno de Top Gun Maverick, cinta secuela de la original estrenada en 1984 protagonizada por Tom Cruies y Val Kilmer y la verdad que estuve en presencia de una gran trabajo cinematográfico, con una historia sólida, un guion bien implementado y con actuaciones muy verosímiles. A continuación les comentaré mis apreciaciones sin hacer spoilers de la película.
What I appreciate the most about the film is the argument of the reunion, after spending 30 years, in the chronology of the film since for us it would be 35, Maverick returns to the Top Gun academy, and that trip to the past is not simple nostalgia, As we are so used to when playing a classic from the 80s or 90s, this time it is a reunion of Maverick with his origins, his mistakes and successes, his old experiences and losses that still remain in his memory and determine his behavior and attitude before life. The hero in this film is not destroyed, as happens in today's cinema, to make way for new generations, but his figure is still valid and has much to teach those who will carry the flags of the Top Gun academy, where they are the best pilots.
Lo que más aprecio de la cinta es el argumento de el reencuentro, tras pasar 30 años, en la cronología de la película ya que para nosotros serían 35, Maverick vuelve a la academia Top Gun, y ese viaje al pasado no es simple nostalgia, como estamos tan acostumbrados cuando se toca a un clásico de los 80 o 90, en esta oportunidad es un reencuentro de Maverick con sus orígenes, sus errores y aciertos, sus viejas vivencias y pérdidas que aún perduran en su memoria y determinan su conducta y actitud ante la vida. El héroe en esta cinta no es destruido, coma pasa en el cine actual, para darle paso a las nuevas generaciones, sino que su figura aun tiene vigencia y tiene mucho que enseñar a quienes llevarán las banderas de la academia de Top Gun, donde estan los mejores pilotos.

In this new story, Maverick must teach the best skills to the new generation of pilots who will face the most important mission of their lives, which means only a one-way ticket, so he must teach them as if it were from the beginning, since Among the new pilots there are fights of egos and position, Maverick with his great experience bursts into their midst, not to make a fool of himself but to teach them new values that he learned in the academy, and one of them is humility. When I saw them for the first time on stage I felt a bit of discomfort, suddenly Independence Day 2 came to mind, where the new pilots were a kind of super humans with great abilities, while the adult figures were just sad and not its former glories were remembered, none of that, here is a truly refreshing work that makes you feel respect for the old and fascination for the new and Top Gun achieves that.
Otro punto a resaltar y que me gusta mucho es la confrontación de lo viejo con lo nuevo, de lo tradicional con lo novedoso. En esta nueva historia Maverick debe enseñar las mejores destrezas a la nueva generaciónde pilotos que se enfrentarán a la misión más importante de sus vidas, que significa solo un boleto de ida, por lo que debe enseñarles como si se tratara desde el principio, ya que entre los nuevos pilotos existen luchas de egos y posición, Maverick con su gran experiencia irrumpe en medio de ellos, no para hacer el ridículo sino para enseñarles nuevos valores que el aprendió en la academia, y uno de ellos es la humildad. Cuando los vi por primer vez en escena sentí un poco de molestias, de pronto me vino a la mente Dia de Independencia 2, donde los nuevos pilotos eran una suerte de super humanos con habilidades grandiosas, mientras que las figuras adultas solo daban pena y no se recordaban sus antiguas glorias, nada de eso, aquí hay un verdadero trabajo refrescante que te hace sentir respeto por lo viejo y fascinación por lo nuevo y eso logra Top Gun.

He returns this time with a somewhat brief but very important secondary role to understand the psychological and personal evolution of Maverick, actor Val Kilmer has currently lost his voice due to throat cancer, but through an artificial intelligence they managed to give him back his voice so he could participate, it was a memorable moment to see him on screen with Tom Cruise, fundamental pillars of the film.
Uno de los grandes aciertos de esta película fue la incorporación de Val Kilmer en su rol de "Iceman", en la película original estuvo el némesis de Maverick, de personalidades totalmente opuestas pero que de igual forma comprendían la valentía y el heroísmo. Regresa en esta oportunidad con una papel secundario un tanto breve pero muy importante para entender la evolución psicológica y personal de Maverick, el actor Val Kilmer en la actualidad ha perdido la voz por un cancer en la garganta, pero a través d euna inteligencia artificial se las arreglaron para devolverle la voz y así poder participar, fue un momento memorable verlo en pantalla junto a Tom Cruise, pilares fundamentales de la cinta.

Although the film does not tell us about a marked enemy ideology like its previous film, where the enemy was clearly identified, here you do not feel that atmosphere of political propaganda or American patriotism, only the confrontation of an enemy that is in the process of being built. of lethal weapons. The enemies then use a 5th generation fighter, this moment for me was wonderful, I felt like a freak when I identified the enemy's ship and instantly knew that it was either Iran or North Korea as the hostile countries in the tape, although that is not explicit, it can be inferred by the ships in combat. The 5th generation fighter is the powerful Sukhoi 57, the ship that emits a terrifying sound when it makes its flights, these details do not show us the ideological clash of the 80s and the Reagan era, but they show us the technological advance and the human factor in the decisive moments to act and that seemed to me a very captivating detail of the film.
No solo el factor humano es importante en esta película, también lo son las máquinas, aquí no se nos muestra la tecnología como superación de lo humano, sino como una continuación de la misma humanidad. Al principio pensé que vería UAV drones, o cualquier otra nueva tecnología de ciencia ficción pero no fue así, fieles a la tradición la academia Top Gun utilizó como nave bandera el F-18 Hornet, aviones pertenecientes a la 4ta generación. Si bien la pelicula no nos habla de una marcada ideología enemiga como su cinta anterior, donde el enemigo estaba claramente identificado, aquí no se siente ese ambiente de propaganda política ni del patriotismo norteamericano, solo el enfrentamiento de un enemigo que esta en proceso de construcción de armas letales. Los enemigos entonces utilizan un caza de 5ta generación, este momento para mi fue maravilloso, me sentí todo un freak cuando identifiqué la nave de los enemigos y al instante supe que se trataba ya sea de Irán o Corea del Norte como los países hostiles en la cinta, aunque eso no está explícito, puede inferirse por las naves en combate. El caza de 5ta generación es el poderoso Sukhoi 57, la naveque emite un sonido aterrador cuando realiza sus vuelos, estos detalles no nos muestran el choque ideológico de los años 80 y la era Reagan, pero nos muestran el avance tecnológico y el factor humano en los momentos decisivos para actuar y eso me pareció un detalle muy atrapante de la película.

Por todos los detalles aqui mencionados la considero una gran película, a mi parecer lo mejor del año y también en mucho tiempo, no quise extenderme más porque caería en la tentación de los spoilers así que por respeto a ustedes y para animarlos a que la vean no lo hago, estoy seguro que la disfrutarán y harían mejores reseñas que la mía, ya que cada quien puede apreciarla de manera diferente segun su entendimiento.
