Hablemos del cast de esta película, contamos con Toni Collete haciendo a Annie Graham madre y esposa que pasa por la reciente muerte de su extraña y reservada madre. Alex Wolff en el papel de Peter Graham, hijo de Annie, quien luego será incluso igual de importante que nuestra protagonista Annie Graham. Milly Shapiro haciendo a Charlie, hermana de Peter e hija de Annie y por último Gabriel Byrne como Steve Graham, esposo de Annie. Definitivamente verla fue un constante estrés y terror por sus escenas con faltas de música, incomodidad visual y pequeños jumpscares dónde hicieron más de una vez alterar mi ritmo cardíaco y aún después de decir todo esto me pareció una gran película del género de terror enfocado en lo psicológico sin perder partes del terror sobrenatural. Esperaba algo completamente diferente pero una vez más A24 me deja completamente feliz del desenlace de esta película. La forma en la que avanza la película es magnífica ya que se van desenvolviendo los secretos y misterios dentro de esta familia haciendo que crezca la tensión y el terror a cada minuto que avanza. La historia tampoco le faltaba nada, el extraño secreto de la abuela de la familia quien tenía ciertos acercamientos a una especie de culto y como esto va afectando a la familia con encuentro fantasmales y extraños.
Definitely watching it was a constant stress and terror for its scenes with missing music, visual discomfort and small jumpscares where they made more than once alter my heart rate and even after saying all this I found it a great film of the horror genre focused on the psychological without losing parts of supernatural horror. I was expecting something completely different but once again A24 leaves me completely happy with the outcome of this film. The way the film progresses is magnificent as the secrets and mysteries within this family unfold, making the tension and terror grow with every minute that goes by. The story also lacked nothing, the strange secret of the grandmother of the family who had certain approaches to a kind of cult and how this is affecting the family with ghostly and strange encounters.
Una vez más el estudio A24 nos lleva de la mano en este film perturbador y lleno de pasajes con una brutalidad inesperada. Si estás lo suficientemente sumergido en la historia podrás ver los indicios y las pequeñas cosas que nos va a acercar cada vez más al final además de que incluso al final se resuelven dudas sobre asuntos que dejaban flotando en el aire. Como es costumbre de mi parte debo destacar que las tomas de las escenas fueron otro punto extra a esta película, escenas con simbolismos a través de la simplicidad. Como dato final, les digo que puede llegar a ser algo confusa pero buscar el significado, la conexión y el por qué hace que las cosas sean más divertidas y emocionantes.
Once again A24 studio takes us by the hand in this disturbing film full of passages with unexpected brutality. If you are sufficiently immersed in the story you will be able to see the clues and little things that will bring us closer and closer to the end and even at the end doubts are resolved about issues that were left floating in the air. As usual, I must emphasize that the shots of the scenes were another extra point to this film, scenes with symbolism through simplicity. As a final note, it can get a little confusing but looking for the meaning, the connection and the why makes things more fun and exciting.
