Hola amantes del cine y la televisión en hive, hoy una vez más les comparto mi opinión sobre el séptimo episodio de la serie basada en el videojuego, The Last Of Us y si aún no lo han visto pues los invito a hacerlo ya que hablaré con spoilers en este post. Hello movie and TV lovers in hive, today once again I share with you my opinion about the seventh episode of the series based on the video game, The Last Of Us and if you haven't seen it yet then I invite you to do so as I will talk with spoilers in this post. I hope you like it and I invite you to read me! 🎬✨
Inicio/Beginning
Comenzamos el episodio retomando los acontecimientos sucedidos en el anterior episodio viendo como Ellie arrastró a Joel hasta una casa abandonada para cuidar de el ya que está herido. Ella intenta ayudarlo pero éste solo le dice que lo deje y se vaya para que esté no sea una carga, Ellie molesta decide dejarlo y aquí es donde volvemos al pasado en donde podremos ver un poco más de la historia de Ellie y como fue su vida antes de terminar con Marlene.
Empezando fuerte el episodio podemos ver como Joel teme por Ellie y ésta al dejarlo lo hace pensar que esa sería la última vez que lo vería. No me esperaba que pasaran algo del presente sino pensaba que directamente el episodio entero sería para explicar un poco de la historia de Ellie pero aún así fue increíble y a la vez triste ver estás escenas llenas de tensión y dolor.
We start the episode picking up the events that happened in the previous episode seeing how Ellie dragged Joel to an abandoned house to take care of him since he is injured. She tries to help him but he just tells her to leave him and go away so he is not a burden, Ellie upset decides to leave him and this is where we go back to the past where we can see a little more of Ellie's story and how her life was before ending up with Marlene.
Starting off the episode strong we get to see how Joel fears for Ellie and Ellie leaving him makes him think that this would be the last time she would see him. I didn't expect that they would show something from the present but I thought that the whole episode would be to explain a bit of Ellie's story but it was still amazing and sad to see these scenes full of tension and pain.
El sexto episodio titulado "Lo que dejamos atrás" se estrenó el domingo 26 de febrero a las 10 pm (Venezuela) tanto en los canales HBO cómo en su plataforma HBOMAX y cuenta con una duración de 55 minutos. Este episodio se centra principalmente en la historia de Ellie antes de que fuera tomada por la líder de las luciérnagas, Marlene. Muestran un poco del pasado de ella y su entrenamiento dentro de la academia de FEDRA, su amistad y romance con una chica llamada Riley y el cómo descubrió que era inmune.
Un episodio centrado en nuestra protagonista pero que cuenta con un personaje importante para el desarrollo de su historia, se nos une para este episodio la actriz Storm Reid en el papel de Riley y por supuesto nuestros protagonistas Joel (Pedro Pascal) y Ellie (Bella Ramsey).
The sixth episode entitled "Left Behind" premiered on Sunday, February 26 at 10 pm (Venezuela) on both HBO channels and on its HBOMAX platform and has a running time of 55 minutes. This episode focuses mainly on Ellie's story before she was taken by the leader of the fireflies, Marlene. They show a bit of her past and her training within the FEDRA academy, her friendship and romance with a girl named Riley and how she discovered she was immune.
An episode focused on our protagonist but with an important character for the development of her story, we are joined for this episode by actress Storm Reid in the role of Riley and of course our protagonists Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey).
Los episodios de The Last Of Us siempre causan revuelo y este no es la excepción, desde que se estrenó la serie hemos podido ver cómo los creadores nos entregan episodios en dónde explican un poco más las historia de ciertos personajes que en el juego no se explicaron tan a fondo y en este episodio es el caso de Ellie, la cuál teníamos la información de que había sido mordida y es inmune pero ¿Cómo ocurrió esa mordida y cómo supimos que ella era inmune? Este episodio es en donde podemos saber un poco más sobre ello.
Este episodio se remonta unas pocas horas antes de conocer a Ellie en el primer episodio de la serie, una niña que estudia en un internado creado por FEDRA y quien tiene una vida un poco dura, la cuál cuenta con una amiga que es como su mejor amiga llamada Riley, la cuál tiene un par de semanas desaparecida pero una noche vuelve para decirle a Ellie que la acompañe a "tener la mejor noche de su vida" y ambas deciden salir de las instalaciones de FEDRA para embarcarse en esta aventura.
The Last Of Us episodes always cause a stir and this is no exception, since the series premiered we have seen how the creators give us episodes where they explain a little more the history of certain characters that in the game were not explained so thoroughly and in this episode is the case of Ellie, which we had the information that she had been bitten and is immune but how did that bite happened and how did we know that she was immune? This episode is where we get to know a little bit more about it.
This episode goes back a few hours before we meet Ellie in the first episode of the series, a girl who studies in a boarding school created by FEDRA and who has a hard life, who has a friend who is like her best friend called Riley, who has a couple of weeks missing but one night she comes back to tell Ellie to accompany her to "have the best night of her life" and both decide to leave the FEDRA facilities to embark on this adventure.
Atravesando algunos lugares abandonados y encontrando algo de alcohol ambas se ponen al día de lo ocurrido, Riley le cuenta a Ellie que ha decidido unirse a las luciérnagas pero Ellie tiene otra idea del tipo de gente que son y piensa que FEDRA quizás no sean personas malas. A medida que van entablando conversaciones y ambas vuelven a tener confianza entran a un centro comercial abandonado pero que gracias a Riley este vuelve a la vida llenado todas las tiendas de luces y colores, además de música la cual fue "Take On Me" de A-ha. Y a pesar de que todo parece ir perfecto y aquella noche está siendo completamente divertida y emocionante para ambas esto se verá interrumpido por una confesión.
Me encantó este episodio, puedo ver la química entre ambas y la conexión que tienen, son mejores amigas que se extrañaban y quieren vivir por lo menos un momento divertido en sus monótonas vidas intentando decidir en qué bando estar si estar del lado de las luciérnagas o de FEDRA.
Going through some abandoned places and finding some alcohol they both catch up on what happened, Riley tells Ellie that she has decided to join the fireflies but Ellie has another idea of the kind of people they are and thinks that FEDRA might not be bad people. As they strike up conversations and both become confident again they enter an abandoned mall but thanks to Riley it comes back to life filling all the stores with lights and colors, plus music which was "Take On Me" by A-ha. And even though everything seems to be going perfect and that night is being completely fun and exciting for both of them this will be interrupted by a confession.
I loved this episode, I can see the chemistry between both of them and the connection they have, they are best friends who missed each other and want to live at least one fun moment in their monotonous lives trying to decide which side to be on if to be on the side of the fireflies or FEDRA.
Podemos ver de nuevo que HBO se tomó la serie muy en serio al igual que el creador del juego ya que los pedazos de referencias al videojuego son impresionantes, yo no tenía idea de que recrearian de forma tan impresionante desde escenarios al punto de parecer exactos al del juego hasta los diálogos en donde usaron las mismas conversaciones de éste y sé que muchos que vimos y vivimos el videojuego estamos igual de cautivados por el nivel de profesionalismo y pasión a la hora de adaptar partes del juego tan importantes tanto para los espectadores como para el desarrollo de la historia.
En este episodio se adapta el DLC del videojuego, en algunos casos los DLC son contenido descargable extra ya sea en vestimentas o personajes nuevos pero en otros casos son historias extras o nuevas en dónde muestran algo más que la historia original, en este caso es el DLC de The Last Of Us: Left Behind donde podemos descubrir y entender más la historia de Ellie y como descubrió que era inmune además de mostrar su vida y sus relaciones antes de caer en el cuidado de Joel.
We can see again that HBO took the series very seriously as well as the creator of the game as the pieces of references to the video game are impressive, I had no idea that they would recreate so impressively from scenarios to the point of seeming exact to the game to the dialogues where they used the same conversations of the game and I know that many who saw and lived the video game are equally captivated by the level of professionalism and passion when adapting parts of the game so important for both viewers and for the development of the story.
In this episode we adapt the DLC of the video game, in some cases the DLC are extra downloadable content either in costumes or new characters but in other cases they are extra or new stories where they show something more than the original story, in this case it is the DLC of The Last Of Us: Left Behind where we can discover and understand more of Ellie's story and how she discovered she was immune as well as showing her life and relationships before falling into Joel's care.
Volviendo a la historia de nuestra protagonista podemos ver como poco a poco va demostrando los sentimientos ocultos que tiene por riley, con acciones tan simples pero tan significativas como arreglarse el cabello para verse bien hasta disfrutar los abrazos entre ambas, realmente se me hizo muy linda la forma de adaptarlo a la serie y me pareció algo muy emocionante aún así, ya sabiendo mucho de la historia sabía que esto no duraría por mucho e inmediatamente me trajo sentimientos de nostalgia ya que Ellie se veía muy feliz a su lado.
En cuanto a la continuación del episodio Riley le confiesa a Ellie que se va de Boston con las luciérnagas y que esa noche fue especial ya que quería tener un buen recuerdo de despedida. Ellie la abandona completamente molesta por su decisión y luego de reflexionar acepta su decisión tomando ese momento para poder disfrutar un poco más su gran noche juntas jugando Mortal Kombat en un gran salón de videojuegos y usando máscaras en una tienda de disfraces bailando con la música de Ellie.
Returning to the story of our protagonist we can see how little by little she shows the hidden feelings she has for Riley, with actions as simple but as significant as fixing her hair to look good to enjoy the hugs between them, I really liked the way of adapting it to the series and I found it very exciting even so, knowing much of the story I knew that this would not last long and immediately brought me feelings of nostalgia as Ellie looked very happy by her side.
As for the continuation of the episode Riley confesses to Ellie that she is leaving Boston with the Fireflies and that night was special as she wanted to have a nice parting memory. Ellie leaves her completely upset by her decision and after reflecting she accepts her decision taking that moment to be able to enjoy a little more their big night together playing Mortal Kombat in a big video game room and wearing masks in a costume store dancing to Ellie's music.
Una escena importante fue la del beso de ambas, creo que para los que ya conocíamos la historia de la serie a partir del videojuego estábamos más que claros de la orientación de Ellie y aún así hubo muchísima polémica por ello (sobretodo por parte de gente que no tenía idea sobre la historia de la serie o a los que solo les importa la historia de "zombies" que se vende a primeras) como el mismo actor que le dió la vida Joel en el videojuego, Troy Baker, The Last Of Us es una historia sobre el amor y no sobre zombies, es una historia sobre el amor en todas sus formas y como éste se ve afectado por esta pandemia, como las personas buscan a pesar de todo el daño, la muerte y la destrucción a su alrededor buscan la felicidad, por ello no me sorprendería ver como en la segunda temporada se vuelve aún más controversial debido a la relación de Ellie y Dina. Igualmente esto siempre será tomado como un tema polémico aún cuando esté no influya en absolutamente nada de la historia del juego o serie, debido a la intolerancia o a no poder soportar dos segundos de un beso.
An important scene was the kiss of the two, I think for those who already knew the story of the series from the video game we were more than clear of the orientation of Ellie and yet there was a lot of controversy about it (especially by people who had no idea about the history of the series or those who only care about the story of "zombies" that is sold at first) as the same actor who gave life to Joel in the video game, Troy Baker, The Last Of Us is a story about love and not about zombies, it is a story about love in all its forms and how it is affected by this pandemic, how people seek despite all the damage, death and destruction around them seek happiness, so I would not be surprised to see how in the second season becomes even more controversial because of the relationship of Ellie and Dina. Likewise this will always be taken as a controversial issue even if it does not influence absolutely nothing in the story of the game or series, due to intolerance or not being able to stand two seconds of a kiss.
Ya al final de episodio podemos ver como entra un infectado a la tienda de disfraces y aunque ambas peleen para matarlo éste las muerdes a las dos, ambas teniendo dos reacciones completamente diferente y aceptables, por un lado tenemos a un Ellie molesta por esto y destruyendo todo a su paso y por el otro lado tenemos a Riley quien solo se sienta a asimilar la situación, ambas en completa derrota deciden tomar una decisión, acabar con sus vidas de una vez o "ser poéticas" y dejar que suceda el cambio y a pesar de que luego volvemos a ver a ellie intentando conseguir algo para cerrarle la herida a Joel, sabemos que solo ellie pudo sobrevivir de ese ataque en el centro comercial.
Podemos ver a Ellie con los sentimientos a flor de piel buscando la manera de ayudar a Joel y evitarle la muerte a pesar de que éste le dijo que huyera y no volviera a por el pero ella hará lo que sea para salvar a su último ser querido mientras pueda. Con esto finaliza el episodio con una versión acústica de "Never Let Me Down Again" de Depeche Mode, un episodio bastante triste y nostálgico en dónde pudimos entender más a Ellie y ver más de su pasado, tambien tuvimos que ver a Joel en su estado más vulnerable y quien pensó que por un momento podía morir, pero esto le dio más fuerzas a Ellie para salvarlo.
Already at the end of the episode we can see how an infected enters the costume store and although both fight to kill it, it bites them both, both having two completely different and acceptable reactions, on the one hand we have an Ellie upset by this and destroying everything in its path and on the other hand we have Riley who just sits to assimilate the situation, both in complete defeat decide to make a decision, end their lives once and for all or "be poetic" and let the change happen and although we later see Ellie trying to get something to close Joel's wound, we know that only Ellie could survive that attack at the mall.
We can see Ellie with her feelings on edge looking for a way to help Joel and avoid his death even though he told her to run away and not to come back for him, but she will do anything to save her last loved one while she can. With this ends the episode with an acoustic version of "Never Let Me Down Again" by Depeche Mode, a very sad and nostalgic episode where we could understand more about Ellie and see more of her past, we also had to see Joel in his most vulnerable state and who thought that for a moment he could die, but this gave more strength to Ellie to save him.
"We don't give that up. I don't want to give that up. My vote? Let's just wait it out. You know, we can be all poetic and just lose our minds together. - Riley."
