In this 2023, I promised myself to catch up with all the movies and series that I have pending to see, especially those who have shared in the community, it is a long list, but I hope to go in the course of the year, seeing them all, as you know this is my greatest passion, watch and enjoy a good movie or series to pass the time.
And what better way to start this 2023, sharing my first review of the year, although I saw this movie a few days ago, I had not had the chance to share and write my impressions.
The movie I'm talking about is called OLD, Viejos in Spanish, some time ago I had seen the trailer, but I didn't remember it, until I finally decided to watch it, it certainly has an interesting plot, that makes you reflect a little about time, and how fragile we can be.
In this film we can see how a family decides to spend their vacation in a paradisiacal place, staying at the best hotel on the island, and with the intention of having a good time, both the family, along with another group, are invited to visit a hidden beach, with a wonderful view, what they do not know, is that this beach hides something more than a natural landscape.
Everything starts too fast, and without any explanation, the people on the island begin to suffer a transformation, the time there occurs in such a dizzying way, it is not known why or how, but simply these people who came to that island, were no longer the same.
It is here where that saying applies, time is money, I don't know why, but that is how I interpreted it, because of the speed of the events, what caught my attention the most, was the way they reacted, it was as if they didn't feel anything, they didn't express or show that fear or anguish that one would normally feel when seeing what was happening around you, they were as if they were too calm.
Time sometimes plays in our favor, as other times it doesn't, in some moments it happens so fast, that you don't know how it happened, but your life is not the same as before, you start thinking, but what did I do, what did I live, what did I achieve, or what did I miss.
This story has a message, but they didn't approach it like that, not as I expected, as I said the reaction of the characters, seeing how their body transformed, acting in a way as if this was normal, and they knew what was happening to them, it didn't make sense, I guess that's what it was about.
It's not the typical story to reflect on time and old age, it's a movie with a bit of drama and suspense, with that hidden mystery, surrounded by incomprehensible, supernatural situations.
It has a good plot, an entertaining story, it keeps you intrigued, you want to know why all this happens, what affects them, how it starts, how it ends, although the ending, for me, was a little disappointing.
One of the main characters in this story is played by the actor Gael García Bernal, the truth is that I have seen very few movies of him, he doesn't call my attention as an actor, and here, well, he didn't captivate me much.
This film was based mostly on showing us that scary part, which is for some when it comes to the passage of time, and how everything in you is changing, everything happens in the blink of an eye.
I'm not saying it was bad, but not one of the best, it was well recreated, with those landscapes that catch you, and make you want to be there, without thinking about what it can hide. Undoubtedly it was somewhat misleading, you could never imagine the background of this story, I think for that part, you have to give it points, because it achieved its goal.
There are good stories, it all depends on the viewer, how they see it, and how they interpret it, that's the great thing about cinema, maybe for some it was something masterful, and for others not so much, however, the important thing is to enjoy them, share those ideas and opinions, whether they are good or not, cinema is the best way to attract those discussions that you are passionate about, and makes you want to see more.
There are people who don't like to watch movies or some series, and that's fine, they are respected, I can only tell them, they don't know what they are missing.
Well, my cinephile friends, a pleasure to share with you, and here we will continue to bring you the best of cinema, and what not, as I always tell you, do not stop enjoying watching a good movie, series or soap opera, that distracts you, and takes you out of the routine, see you next time.
En este 2023, me prometí ponerme al día con todas las películas y series que tengo pendiente por ver, sobre todo las que han compartido en la comunidad, es una lista larga, pero espero ir en el trascurso del año, viéndolas todas, como bien saben esta es mi mayor pasión, ver y disfrutar de una buena película o serie para pasar el tiempo.
Y que mejor forma de iniciar este 2023, compartiendo mi primera reseña del año, aunque esta película la vi hace unos días, no había tenido chance de compartir y escribir mis impresiones.
La película de las que les hablo se llama OLD, Viejos en español, hace un tiempo había visto el tráiler, pero no me acordaba de ella, hasta que por fin me decidí y la vi, sin duda cuenta con una trama interesante, que te hace reflexionar un poco sobre el tiempo, y lo frágiles que podemos llegar a ser.
En este film podemos ver como una familia decide pasar sus vacaciones en un lugar paradisiaco, hospedándose en el mejor hotel de la isla, y con la intención de que la pasen bien, tanto la familia, junto con otro grupo, son invitados a recorrer una playa escondida, con una vista maravillosa, lo que ellos no saben, es que esta playa esconde algo más que un paisaje natural.
Todo comienza demasiado rápido, y sin ninguna explicación, las personas en la isla comienzan a sufrir una trasformación, el tiempo allí ocurre de forma tan vertiginosa, no se sabe por qué ni como, pero simplemente estas personas que llegaron a esa isla, ya no eran las mismas.
Es aquí donde se aplica ese refrán, el tiempo es oro, no sé por qué, pero es así como lo interprete, por la velocidad de los eventos, lo que más me llamo la atención, fue la forma en como ellos reaccionaban, era como si no sintieran nada, no expresaban o mostraban ese miedo o angustia que uno normalmente sentiría al ver lo que ocurría a tu alrededor, estaban como que demasiado en calma.
El tiempo a veces juega a nuestro favor, como otras veces no, en algunos momentos ocurre tan rápido, que no sabes cómo sucedió, pero tu vida ya no es la de antes, te pones a pensar, pero que hice, que viví, que logre, o que me perdí.
Esta historia tiene un mensaje, pero no lo abordaron así, no como yo lo esperaba, como dije la reacción de los personajes, al ver como su cuerpo se transformaba, el actuar de una manera como si esto fuese normal, y supieran qué les estaba pasando, no tenía sentido, supongo que de eso se trataba.
No es la típica historia para reflexionar sobre el tiempo y la vejez, es una película con un poco de drama y suspenso, con ese misterio oculto, rodeado de situaciones incomprensibles, sobrenaturales.
Tiene una buena trama, una historia entretenida, te mantiene intrigado, deseas saber por qué ocurre todo esto, que es lo que los afecta, como empieza, como termina, aunque el final, para mí, fue un poco decepcionante.
Uno de los personajes principales de esta historia es protagonizado por el actor Gael García Bernal, la verdad son muy pocas las películas que he visto de él, no me llama la atención como actor, y aquí bueno, no me cautivo mucho que digamos.
Este film se basó más que todo en mostrarnos esa parte aterradora, que es para algunos cuando se trata del pasar del tiempo, y como todo en ti va cambiando, todo transcurre en un abrir y cerrar de ojos.
No digo que fue mala, pero tampoco una de las mejores, fue bien recreada, con esos paisajes que te atrapan, y te hacen querer estar allí, sin pensar en lo que pueda ocultar. Sin duda fue algo engañosa, jamás podrías imaginar el trasfondo de esta historia, creo que por esa parte, hay que darle puntos, porque logro su cometido.
Hay buenas historias, todo depende del espectador, de cómo lo vea, y lo interprete, es lo bueno del cine, quizás para algunos fue algo magistral, y para otros no tanto, sin embargo, lo importante es disfrutarlas, compartir esas ideas y opiniones, sean buenas o no, el cine es la mejor forma para atraer esas discusiones que te apasionan, y te hace querer ver más.
Hay personas que no les gusta ver películas o alguna serie, y está bien, se les respeta, solo les puedo decir, no saben lo que se pierden.
Bueno, mis amigos cinéfilos, un gusto compartir con ustedes, y aquí seguiremos trayendo lo mejor del cine, y lo que no, como siempre les digo, no dejen de disfrutar ver una buena película, serie o telenovela, que los distraiga, y los saque de la rutina, nos vemos en la próxima.
