After a few busy days I was finally able to enjoy a new movie through the Disney+ platform and I would like to share it with you, it is "Strange World" which was released recently but I had not been able to see it until now. I hope you like it.
¡Hola queridos amigos cinéfilos! ¿Cómo están? Espero que hayan tenido la mejor de las Navidades y que la estén pasando muy bien en esta hermosa temporada. Luego de unos días bastante ocupados finalmente pude disfrutar una nueva película a través de la plataforma Disney+ y me gustaría compartirla con ustedes, se trata de "Strange World" la cual fué estrenada hace poco pero no había podido verla hasta ahora. Espero les guste.
Plot / Trama
Jaeger Clade is an adventurous man who goes in search of adventures in the company of his son named Searcher. One day when Jaeger, Searcher and an expedition group were exploring some mountains, Searcher discovers a plant that turns out to be a power source called Pando, which the rest of the group thinks may be a great power source for the city of Avalonia. so they give up reaching the mountains and taking the plant, but a furious Jaeger decides to continue the expedition alone and is not seen again afterwards. 25 years later, Searcher has become a man who owns a farm growing Pando flowers and has his own family, his wife Meridian and their teenage son Ethan, but one night one of Jaeger's expedition companions named Callisto arrives. to the farm to tell Searcher that the plants are starting to die and they must go to the heart of Pando to prevent the plants from dying. Searcher leaves that same night but Ethan, his son, enters the ship as a stowaway so Meridian later goes after him and ends up joining the expedition.
Jaeger Clade es un hombre aventurero el cual va en búsqueda de aventuras en compañía de su hijo llamado Searcher. Un día cuando Jaeger, Searcher y un grupo de expedición estaban explorando unas monatañas, Searcher descubre una planta que resulta ser una fuente de energía llamada Pando, la cual el resto del grupo piensa que puede ser una gran fuente de energía para la ciudad de Avalonia así que desisten de llegar a las montañas y llevar la planta, pero Jaeger furioso decide continúar la expedición solo y no vuelve a ser visto después. 25 años después, Searcher se ha cnvertido en un hombre el cual tiene una granja de cultivo de las flores Pando y tiene su propia familia, su esposa Meridian y su hijo adolescente Ethan pero una noche una de las compañeras de expedición de Jaeger llamada Callisto llega a la granja para decirle a Searcher que las plantas están empezando a morir y deben ir al corazón del Pando para evitar que las plantas mueran. Searcher parte esa misma noche pero Ethan, su hijo se introduce en la nave como polizón así que luego Meridian va tras él y se termina uniendo a la expedición.
During their expedition they arrive at a quite colorful underground world with quite strange creatures in which Searcher at first gets lost but is rescued by his father who was lost there for 25 years when he fell on the road to the other side of the mountains. and they meet again. Ethan, who had gone looking for his father, meets a blue creature which he calls Splat and after a while the four of them meet and then manage to meet up with the others. As they continue the trip to the heart of Pando, it can be seen how tense the relationship between Searcher and his father is, since he too is jealous that his father and son get along and letting himself be carried away by the fear that his son wants to be an adventurer like his grandfather, they have a fight which Jaeger overhears and annoyed decides to continue alone to the other side of the mountains, and in which Ethan decides to go on his own being followed by Searcher, and while they talk without knowing it they reach the other side of the mountains and discover that the earth is actually a living being in the form of a turtle and that they have actually been traveling inside it, and that the creatures they are fighting are actually antibodies and that the root of the Pardo flowers is actually a disease that must be destroyed, so they decide to go back and warn the others, but Callisto decides to ignore them and locks them in a closet to continue killing the antibodies that try to fight pulled the root of the Pando flowers.
Durante su expedición llegan a un mundo subterráneo bastante coloridos y con criaturas bastante extrañas en el cual al principio Searcher se pierde pero es rescatado por su padre el cual estaba allí perdido desde hacen 25 años al caerse en el camino hacía el otro lado de las montañas y se reencuentran. Ethan, que había ido a buscar a su padre se encuentra con una criatura azul al cual llama Splat y luego de un rato se reúnen los cuatro y luego logran reunirse con los demás. A medida que continúan el viaje hacía el corazón del Pando se puede notar lo tensa que es la relación entre Searcher y su padre ya que también él siente celos de que su padre y su hijo se lleven bien y dejándose llevar por el miedo de que su hijo quiera ser un aventurero como su abuelo, ellos tienen una pelea la cual Jaeger escucha y molesto decide continúar solo hacía el otro lado de las montañas, y en la que Ethan decide irse por su cuenta siendo seguido por Searcher, y mientras hablan sin saberlo llegan al otro lado de las montañas y descubren que en realidad la tierra es un ser vivo en forma de tortuga y que en realidad han estado viajando por su interior, y que las criaturas que están combatiendo son en realidad anticuerpos y que la raíz de las flores Pardo en realidad es una enfermedad que debe ser destruida, por lo que deciden regresar y avisar a los demás, pero Callisto decide no hacerles caso y los encierra en un armario para seguir matando a los anticuerpos que intentan combatir la raíz de las flores Pando.
Searcher and his family manage to free themselves and take control of the ship, while Meridian stays piloting, Searcher and Ethan come to help the creatures defeat Pando's root which is right in the heart. Searcher tries to break the root with a shovel but fails in the attempt and the shovel breaks in two, but at that moment he meets his father who helps him with 2 picks and they manage to break the root and the antibodies manage to fulfill their mission and They destroy it thus freeing the heart and although at first they thought that they had not been able to achieve it, the pollinating creatures arrive and begin to revive the heart. Having fulfilled the objective, they decide to return home but first, they return to the other side of the mountains so that Jaeger can see what is there and they all manage to see the eye of the island that is actually shaped like a turtle. A year later, Avalona uses a new power source and Ethan can be seen collecting resources in the strange world, also the relationship between Jaeger and Searcher improves a lot.
Searcher y su familia logran liberarse y tomar el control de la nave, mientras que Meridian se queda piloteando, Searcher y Ethan acuden a ayudar a las criaturas a vencer a la raíz de Pando la cual está justamente en el corazón. Searcher intenta romper la raíz con una pala pero falla en el intento y la pala se rompe en dos, pero en ese momento se reencuentra con su padre el cual le ayuda con 2 picos y logran romper la raíz y los anticuerpos logran cumplir su cometido y la destruyen liberando así el corazón y aunque al principio pensaron que no habían podido lograrlo, llegan las criaturas polinizadoras y comienzan a revivir el corazón. Habiendo cumpliendo el objetivo deciden regresar a casa pero antes, vuelven al otro lado de las montañas para que Jaeger pueda ver lo que hay allí y todos logran ver el ojo de la isla que en realidad tiene forma de tortuga. Un año después, Avalona utiliza una nueva fuente de energía y se puede ver a Ethan recolectando recursos en el mundo extraño, también la relación entre Jaeger y Searcher mejora mucho.
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
This movie caught my attention months ago when I saw the Disney Expo, and although from what I read it was a box office flop and made Disney lose a lot of money, it didn't seem so bad to me. Let's start talking about the characters, which I especially liked Searcher, Ethan and Jaeger, since in the three generations many errors are shown that in real life occur in the relationship between parents and children, since many times Children and parents do not have a very good relationship, so when children start having children of their own, they are so determined not to be like their parents, and they want their children to be exactly like them so much that they inadvertently make the same mistakes as their parents. their parents and that ends up hurting the children, so I really liked that in the end Searcher realized his mistake and apologized to Ethan, and also that the relationship between Jaeger and Searcher improved a lot after so many years. Other characters that I really liked are the Legend dog and the Splat creature since in my opinion, although they do not add much, they give it a touch of comedy and I really like that the dog has been designed this time with 3 legs since normally animals with these disabilities are rejected by other people so the fact that this puppy was designed like that really seemed good to me. The inclusion of an LGBT character can be quite controversial and from what I read many people were upset but it didn't bother me at all, I think there are other better aspects within the film to dwell on.
Esta película me llamó la atención meses atrás cuando ví la Disney Expo, y aunque según leí fué un fracaso en taquilla e hizo perder bastante dinero a Disney, a mí no me pareció tan mala. Empecemos hablando de los personajes, los cuales en especial me gustaron mucho los de Searcher, Ethan y Jaeger, ya que en las tres generaciones se muestran muchos errores que en la vida real se presentan en la relación entre padres e hijos, ya que muchas veces los hijos y los padres no tienen muy buena relación, entonces cuando los hijos pasan a tener sus propios hijos se proponen tanto a no ser como sus padres, y quieren tanto que los hijos sean exactamente como ellos que sin darse cuenta cometen los mismos errores que sus padres y eso termina lastimando a los hijos, así qe me gustó mucho que al final Searcher se haya dado cuenta de su error y se disculpara con Ethan, y que también la relación entre Jaeger y Searcher mejorara bastante después de tantos años. Otros personajes que me gustaron mucho son el perro Legend y la criatura Splat ya que en mi opinión aunque no aportan mucho, le dan un toque de comedia y me gusta mucho que el perro haya sido diseñado esta vez con 3 piernas ya que normalmente animales con estas discapacidades son rechazados por otras personas así que el que este perrito haya sido diseñado así realmente me pareció muy bien. La inclusión de un personaje LGBT puede llegar a ser bastante polémico y por lo que leí a mucha gente le molestó pero a mí no me molestó en lo absoluto, creo que hay otros mejores aspectos dentro de la película para detenerme en eso.
The story in general is quite entertaining and the film is good to pass the time, the level of animation is quite good and it has an ideal color palette for this type of film as far as I am concerned it is not bad as they paint it and I It is sad that it has not had the acceptance it deserves. I really liked that they have represented in this way the environmental damage that human beings do to the planet, since for example, I consider that the roots of the Pando plants which supplied energy to Avalonia, which is a disease that affects the heart of the earth is a way of representing the damage that is being done to the planet which is growing more and more, and which at first several people in the group did not care as long as the plants were saved because more important it is the city, it demonstrates the little interest of the majority of the population that does not care about the damage that can be caused to the environment in order to meet the objectives. And just as it happens in the movie that the family tries to help the earth's antibodies to defeat the disease and then regenerate, I think that people should try to stop the damage that is done to the planet and help it to regenerate, since the planet is a very beautiful place to be mistreating her so much, so that is the message that I liked the most about the film. Although I think that the film could have had a better development since the idea is really good, in general terms I liked it a lot since although the creatures that inhabit the strange world could have had other not so simple designs, I still think that the They did it correctly since I would say that for example, the red birds actually represent the blood of the earth which runs through the veins of the heart, and the other large round creatures that try to eat people are the white blood cells that produce antibodies which fight the disease that is represented by the root of the Pando plant. Although many people think that it is a generic film and inferior to other productions from the great mouse company, I think that if you look carefully you can capture everything that the film manages to convey.
La historia en general es bastante entretenida y la película es buena para pasar el rato, el nivel de animación es bastante buena y tiene una paleta de colores ideal para este tipo de películas por lo que a mí respecta no es mala como la pintan y me da tristeza que no haya tenido la aceptación que merece. Me gustó bastante que hayan representado de esta manera el daño ambiental que los seres humanos le hacen al planeta, ya que por ejemplo, yo considero que la raíz de las plantas Pando las cuales surtían de energía a Avalonia la cual es una enfermedad que afecta el corazón de la tierra es una manera de representar el daño que se le está haciendo al planeta el cual va creciendo cada vez más, y el que al principio a varias personas del grupo no le importaba con tal de que las plantas se salvaran porque más importante es la ciudad, demuestra el poco interes de la mayoría de la población a la que no le importa el daño que se le pueda causar al medio ambiente con tal de cumplir los objetivos. Y así como sucede en la película que la familia trata de ayudar a los anticuerpos de la tierra a vencer la enfermedad y luego regenerarse, pienso que las personas deberíamos tratar de detener el daño que se le hace al planeta y ayudarla a regenerarse, ya que el planeta es un lugar muy hermoso para estarla maltratando tanto, así que ese es el mensaje que más me gustó de la película. Aunque pienso que la película pudo haber tenido un mejor desarrollo ya que la idea es realmente buena, en terminos generales me gustó mucho ya que aunque puede que las criaturas que habitan el mundo extraño pudieran haber tenido otros diseños no tan simples, igual pienso que los hicieron de manera correcta ya que yo diría que por ejemplo, los pájaros rojos en realidad representan la sangre de la tierra los cuales recorren las venas del corazón, y las demás criaturas redondas grandes que tratan de comerse a la gente son los glóbulos blancos que producen anticuerpos los cuales combaten la enfermedad que está representada por la raíz de la planta Pando. Aunque mucha gente piensa que es una película genérica e inferior a otras producciones de la gran compañía del ratón, pienso que si se mira con detenimiento se logra captar todo lo que la película logra transmitir.
In conclusion, I would say that it is a very good and entertaining movie which is ideal for having a good time with the family or enjoying it alone at home. I would like to recommend it to everyone as I think it is really worth giving it a try and leaving aside the negative or controversial aspects, it is quite enjoyable and with an important message, I assure you that you will enjoy it.
En conclusión, diría que es una película muy buena y entretenida la cual es ideal para pasar un buen rato en familia o disfrutarla sólo en casa. Me gustaría recomendarla a todos ya que pienso que realmente vale la pena darle una oportunidad y dejando de lado los aspectos negativos o polémicos, es bastante disfrutable y con un importante mensaje, les aseguro que la van a disfrutar.
