It was released in 2018 and stars Shannon Purser, Noah Centineo, Kristine Froseth, and Will Peltz. I hope you like it!

Espero estén muy bien, hoy quiero hablarles de una película que volví a ver esta tarde y me gusta mucho, se trata de "Sierra Burgess es una loser" la cual la había visto en Netflix 2 años atrás, pero no había vuelto a ver hasta hoy. Fué lanzada en el 2018 y está protagonizada por Shannon Purser, Noah Centineo, Kristine Froseth y Will Peltz. ¡Espero les guste!
Plot / Trama
The film basically tells us the story of Sierra Burgess, a girl who is not popular at school but very intelligent, who ends up talking to Jamey, an athlete who, although not popular, is very sweet thanks to Veronica who is. popular gives him her number instead of his. When Sierra notices that Jamey starts texting her thinking it's Veronica, she goes to her for help with him because she really likes him and she agrees. Although things are going well between Sierra and Jamey, Sierra hides in Verónica since he thinks that if he sees that it is really her who is speaking to him, he will reject her immediately. One day a misunderstanding occurs and Sierra thinks that Verónica betrayed her and decides to take revenge on her by exposing her and revealing that Verónica was abandoned by her boyfriend through a message, and that causes them both to fall out. Jamey eventually finds out about the deception and is upset with Sierra and Veronica this time as well, but later she apologizes and tries to make it up to them both. She writes a song expressing how she feels and sends it to them. The movie ends with Sierra making up with Jamey and going to the dance with him, where she later makes up with Veronica as well.🌻
La película básicamente nos cuenta la historia de Sierra Burgess, una chica que no es para nada popular en su escuela pero muy inteligente, la cual termina hablando con Jamey, un atleta que aunque no es popular es muy dulce gracias a que Verónica que sí es popular le da el número de ella en lugar del suyo. Cuando Sierra se da cuenta de que Jamey le empieza a enviar mensajes de texto pensando que es Verónica, acude a ella para que la ayude con él porque realmente le gusta y ella accede. Aunque las cosas se dan bien entre Sierra y Jamey, Sierra se oculta en Verónica ya que piensa que sí el ve que realmente es ella quien le habla él la rechazará inmediatamente. Un día ocurre un malentendido y Sierra piensa que Verónica la traicionó y decide vengarse de ella exponiéndola y revelando que Verónica fué abandonada por su novio a través de un mensaje, y eso provoca que ambas se enemisten. Jamey eventualmente se entera del engaño y también se molesta esta vez con Sierra y Verónica, pero luego ella se disculpa y trata de hacer las paces con ambos. Ella escribe una canción expresandoles como se siente y se las envía. La película termina con Sierra reconciliándose con Jamey y yendo al baile con él, donde luego también se reconcilia con Verónica.🌻
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
This film caught my attention mainly because of its protagonists (I had already seen films with Shannon Purser and Noah Centineo before) and I must say that although it is a film with elements that I have seen before in several adolescent films, it really seemed very pretty. I really liked the casting work in general, I feel that Shannon and Noah had chemistry and did a good job together. My favorite character is Sierra, since at some point in life I think I would feel identified with her, since although she is the typical protagonist with low self-esteem and a lot of insecurity, I feel that in the end she had a good evolution since in the end she She admits her mistakes and decides to apologize to her friend and the boy she likes. In general the performances seemed good to me so I have no complaints about it.
Esta película me llamó la atención mas que todo por sus protagonistas (ya había visto películas con Shannon Purser y Noah Centineo anteriormente) y debo decir que aunque es una película con elementos que ya he visto con anterioridad en varias películas adolescentes de verdad me pareció muy bonita. El trabajo del casting en general me gustó mucho, siento que Shannon y Noah tuvieron química e hicieron buen trabajo juntos. Mi personaje favorito es el de Sierra, ya que en algún momento de la vida creo que me sentiría identificada con ella, ya que aunque es la típica protagonista con baja autoestima y mucha inseguridad, siento que al final tuvo buena evolución ya que al final ella reconoce sus errores y decide disculparse con su amiga y el chico que le gusta. En general las actuaciones me parecieron bien así que no tengo ninguna queja al respecto.

I think that many people at some point feel like Sierra and personally, as I said before, I also came to feel that way, I believe that these feelings of insecurity and low self-esteem do not stop being present when we are teenagers, so it seemed good to me that They will show this in the film as it can help adolescents who feel very insecure at that time and who may also suffer bullying at school to realize that in the end it is not worth listening to bullying and what others think about it. one, that we are all valuable just the way we are and that we don't have to change to please anyone, nor should we hide behind someone else to please someone else. I think that empathy and acceptance of ourselves towards others is super important and that it is not good to bully anyone since I think that we must have respect for others. I really like that this film, despite the fact that it may hurt the susceptibilities of some, carries this message, which I also consider necessary.
En general tiene buena fotografía y una paleta de colores que funciona a la perfección, respecto a la historia tengo varias cosas que decir, ya que aunque contiene muchos clichés pienso que tuvo buen desarrollo, claramente la hicieron con la intención de dejar un gran mensaje acerca de que tenemos que aprender a aceptarnos y a querenos a nosotros mismos, sin necesidad de pretender ser alguien más y es un mensaje que logra ser transmitido perfectamente. Creo que muchas personas en algún momento nos sentimos como Sierra y en lo personal como dije antes, yo también llegué a sentirme así, yo creo que estos sentimientos de inseguridad y baja autoestima no dejan de estar presente cuando somos adolescentes así que me pareció bueno que mostraran esto en la película ya que puede ayudar a los adolescentes que en esos momentos sientan mucha inseguridad y que también puedan sufrir bullying en la escuela a darse cuenta de que al final no vale la pena hacer caso al bullying y a lo que piensen los demás sobre uno, que todos somos valiosos tal y como somos y que no tenemos que cambiar para agradar a nadie, y tampoco debemos escondernos tras alguien más para agradar a otra persona. Pienso que es súper importante la empatía y aceptación de nosotros hacía los demás y que no es bueno hacer bullying a nadie ya que pienso que debemos tener respeto hacía el prójimo. Me gusta mucho que esta película a pesar de que puede herir suceptibilidades de algunos, lleve este mensaje el cual considero también necesario.

My favorites are the ones that saw Sierra and Jamey talking on the cell phone in which she was very happy, although I would have liked Sierra not to impersonate Verónica and cheat on him since I think their love could have been more beautiful Being honest, and instead of thinking that he could reject her, she would have risked him meeting her and seeing what happened between them later. I also didn't like that Veronica cheated on Jamey by giving her Sierra's number and that she was also so superficial and bullied her (typical), although I did like that in the end she changed her attitude and even though it wasn't the right thing to agree to help Sierra, and that it brought them closer.
Al ser una comedia romántica, tiene muchas escenas que me parecieron graciosas y también otras que me parecieron bonitas y románticas. Mis favoritas son en las que pasaban a Sierra y a Jamey hablando por celular en el que se notaba a ella muy contenta, aunque me hubiese gustado que Sierra no se hiciera pasar por Verónica y lo engañara ya que pienso que su amor pudo haber sido más bonito al ser sincero, y en lugar de pensar que él la podía rechazar se hubiese arriesgado a que el la conozca y ver que pasaba entre ambos luego. Tampoco me gustó que Verónica engañara a Jamey dándole el número de Sierra y que también fuese tan superficial y la matratara (típico), aunque me gustó que al final haya cambiado su actitud y aunque no haya sido lo correcto accediera a ayudar a Sierra, y que eso las haya acercado.
I found the soundtrack excellent and I really liked it, especially the song "Sunflower" interpreted in the film by Shannon Purser and reflects how Sierra really feels, and which I felt personal since when we are young it is normal to feel inferior and not as pretty as girls with perfect bodies and faces and who tend to look only at them because of boys, and that's why they feel like sunflowers who think that boys only choose roses but, although I didn't think so before, now I think that it is better to be a sunflower since roses are full of thorns. Personally, this is a film that, although it received bad reviews and perhaps many did not see it with good eyes, a film that is worth watching, especially to be able to understand those people who have to deal with problems of low self-esteem, insecurities and also bullying in adolescence, and also understand that people who bully, it is because they have serious problems at home and that is reflected in their behavior. It is not the best of all but I liked it and I think it is entertaining to pass the time. If you still don't know it, I invite you to give it a try, you may have a nice time watching it.
El soundtrack me pareció excelente y me gustó mucho, en especial la canción "Sunflower" interpretada en la película por Shannon Purser y refleja como se siente Sierra en realidad, y la cual yo sentí personal ya que cuando somos jóvenes es normal sentirse inferior y no tan bonita como las chicas con cuerpos y rostros perfectos y que por los chicos tienden a fijarse sólo en ellas, y por eso se sienten como girasoles que piensan que los chicos sólo escogen las rosas pero, aunque antes no lo pensara, ahora yo pienso que es mejor ser un girasol ya que las rosas están llenas de espinas. En lo personal esta es una película que aunque recibió malas críticas y quizás muchos no la vieron con buenos ojos, una película que vale la pena ver, sobretodo para poder entender a esas personas que tienen que lidiar con problemas de baja autoestima, inseguridades y también bullying en la adolescencia, y también entender que las personas que hacen bullying, es porque tienen serios problemas en el hogar y eso se refleja en su conducta. No es la mejor de todas pero si me gustó y me parece que es entretenida para pasar el rato. Si todavía no la conocen los invito a darle una oportunidad, puede que pasen un rato agradable viéndola.🌻
