Starring JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, Heather O'Rourke, Dominique Dunne among others, it tells us the story of the Freeling family, which after an earthquake their house is invaded by evil spirits called "poltergeist" which at first They seemed benign, however they cause a lot of problems for the family. One of the scenes that I remember the most from the movie is that of Carol Anne, the youngest girl in the family talking to a television with static, this girl becomes the target of these evil spirits.

Nelson, Heather O'Rourke, Dominique Dunne entre otros, nos cuenta la historia de la familia Freeling, la cual luego de un terremoto su casa es invadida por espíritus malignos llamados "poltergeist" los cuales al principio parecían benignos, sin embargo causan muchos problemas a la familia. Una de las escenas que más recuerdo de la pelicula, es la de Carol Anne, la niña más pequeña de la familia hablando con un televisor con estática, esta niña se convierte en el objetivo de estos malvados espíritus.

Considerada el primer gran éxito de Steven Spielberg como productor (de hecho dicen que a pesar de que la dirigió Tobe Hooper el se encargo de rodar toda la película, aunque el lo negó) tiene una excelente fotografía, y efectos especiales realmente geniales para la época, también ví en un programa de TV sobre cine que en los 80 en las películas de terror era mas común incluían asesinos seriales, zombies o criaturas para causar miedo, así que esta pelicula sobre espíritus que poseen una casa realmente causó furor en la industria.
The work of the actors seemed excellent to me, especially that of the little girl Heather O'Rourke, who embodied Carol Anne to perfection. I remember that the first time I saw it there were many scenes that scared me because, as I mentioned before, it had incredible special effects and many of them looked quite real. One of the scenes that scared me the most is that of the clown, who is possessed by an entity and begins to hang Robbie, who was actually drowning and the director thought it was acting until he realized that his face it started to turn blue.
El trabajo de los actores me pareció excelente, en especial el de la pequeña niña Heather O'Rourke, que encarnó a Carol Anne a la perfección. Recuerdo que la primera vez que la ví hubo muchas escenas que me dieron bastante miedo ya que como mencioné antes, tuvo unos efectos especiales increibles y muchas se vieron bastante reales. Una de las escenas que más me asustó es la del payaso, el cual es poseído por una entidad y empieza a ahorcar a Robbie, el que en realidad si se estaba ahogando y el director pensó que era actuación hasta que se dió cuenta que su cara se empezó a poner azul.
There are other very well-constructed scenes like the "bed scene" which seemed uncomfortable and turned my stomach or the one that I admit was the one that scared me the most, since the actress JoBeth Williams herself declared that she they used real skeletons to shoot it, which really gave me chills, and apart from these there were also many other scenes that make your hair stand on end, but these were for me the most chilling, in particular if I were an actress I would never think of recording with real corpses lol. The excellent performance of this movie made it become one of the best in the genre and has been influential in the making of other movies, I remember that the bed scene was recreated in the movie Scary Movie 2.
Hay otras escenas muy bien construidas como en la "escena de la cama" la cual pareció incómoda y me revolvió el estómago o la que admito fué la que más miedo me dió la de la piscina, ya que la propia actriz JoBeth Williams declaró que se usaron esqueletos reales para rodarla, lo que realmente me dió escalofríos, y aparte de estas también hubo muchas otras escenas que ponen los pelos de puntas, pero estas fueron para mí las más escalofriantes, en lo particular si yo fuese actriz jamás se me ocurriría grabar con cadáveres reales jajaja. La excelente realización de esta pelicula hizo que se convirtiera en una de las mejores del género y ha sido influyente en la realización de otras peliculas, recuerdo que la escena de la cama fué recreada en la pelicula Scary Movie 2.
Other performances that I like are those of Zelda Rubinstein, who played the medium Tangina Barrons who will help the family get rid of the poltergeists, who just seeing her scared me, I thought she was somewhat funny and at the same time chilling and the by Beatrice Straight whose character is the parapsychologist who, together with her team, discovers that in reality it is not a single entity that is stalking the house, but several and they are the ones that contact Tangina. In my opinion, both actresses (especially Zelda) gave the film a great touch.
Otras actuaciones que me agradan son las de Zelda Rubinstein, la cual encarnó a la medium Tangina Barrons la cual ayudará a la familia a deshacerse de los poltergeist, el cual sólo con verla me daba miedo, me parecía algo cómica y la vez escalofriante y la de Beatrice Straight cuyo personaje de la parapsicóloga que junto a su equipo descubren que en realidad no es una sóla entidad la que acecha la casa, sino varias y son los que contactan a Tangina. En mi opinión ambas actrices (en especial Zelda) le dieron un gran toque a la película

It's all because four of the main characters died during the making of the movies (they are actually a trilogy, the last one being released in 1988). This fact, together with JoBeth Williams affirming that the skeletons used in the pool scene are real, affirm that they were the ones that triggered the curse.

Todo se debe a que cuatro de los personajes principales fallecieron durante la realización de las peliculas (en realidad son una trilogía, siendo la última lanzada en 1988). Empezamos nombrando la de la actriz Dominique Dunne la cual murió al poco tiempo de finalizar el rodaje estrangulada por su exnovio poco tiempo antes de cumplir 23 años. Este hecho junto a que JoBeth Williams afirmara que los esqueletos utilizados en la escena de la piscina son reales afirman que fueron los que desencadenaron la maldición.

La niña falleció a los 12 años de estenosis intestinal que le produjo un paro cardíaco, por lo cual no logró terminar de filmar la tercera parte por lo que el final de la película tuvo que ser editado. Gracias a todos estos lamentables acontecimientos afirman que la película está maldita pero que opinan ustedes, ¿realmente es una maldición, o mera coincidencia?
The film was a huge commercial success, grossing $76,606,280 in the United States, making it the highest-grossing horror film of 1982, it also earned 3 Oscar nominations which it lost to E.T. Directed by Steven Spielberg. It was also well received by critics earning an 87% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
La película tuvo gran éxito comercial, logrando recaudar 76.606.280 $ en Estados Unidos, siendo la pelicula de terror con mayores ganancias de 1982, también obtuvo 3 nominaciones a los premios Oscar los cuales perdió ante E.T. dirigida por Steven Spielberg. También fue bien recibida por los críticos obteniendo una aprobación del 87% en Rotten Tomatoes.
This movie cannot be missing in any collection so as a collector, although I only really liked the first of the trilogy, I bought copies of the 3 movies on DVD, which I hope to replace soon with new original bluray versions.
Esta pelicula no puede faltar en cualquier colleción así que como coleccionista, aunque sólo realmente me gustó la primera de la trilogía compré copias de las 3 películas en DVD, las cuales espero reemplazar dentro de poco por nuevas versiones en bluray originales.
In my opinion, it's one of the best horror films I have seen and also my favorite of the trilogy, not only because of the above, but also because for me it is a film that for that time, where we still did not have the advances that we have now, is tremendously well done and the work done also by all the staff was really excellent. I want to recommend this movie to all lovers of horror movies, I assure you that you will not regret seeing it.
En mi opinión es una de las mejores películas de terror que he visto y también mi favorita de la trilogía, no sólo por lo antes expuesto sino porque para mí es una pelicula que para aquella época dónde todavía no teníamos los adelantos que tenemos ahora está tremendamente bien hecha y el trabajo realizado también por todo el staff fué realmente excelente. Quiero recomendar esta pelicula a todo amante del cine de terror, les aseguro que no se van a arrepentir de verla.
