I hope you are very well, today I want to share with you my opinion of one of my favorite movies directed by my favorite director, the great Tim Burton and starring Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Samuel L Jackson among others. It is an adaptation of the novel written by Ramson Riggs. Without further ado, let's get started!

Espero estén muy bien, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi opinión de una de mis peliculas favoritas dirigida por mi director favorito es gran Tim Burton y protagonizada por Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Samuel L Jackson entre otros. Es una adaptación de la novela escrita por Ramson Riggs. Sin más dilación, ¡empecemos!.
When he was a child, Jake Portman listened to the stories that his grandfather Abe Portman told him about a home for "peculiar" children where he spent his childhood in which both the owner and the children who live there have paranormal abilities. One night, Jake finds his eyeless grandfather Abe about to die, who leaves him a mission that makes him travel the coast of Wales with his father Frank to investigate this home, which he discovers was destroyed in 1943 and it is in ruins. Jake decides to explore the ruins meeting the children his grandfather told him about who lead him through a portal which emerges in the year 1943 with the house still intact.
Cuando era un niño, Jake Portman escuchaba los cuentos que su abuelo Abe Portman le contaba, acerca de un hogar para niños "peculiares" en dónde el pasó su infancia en el cual tanto la dueña como los niños que allí viven poseen habilidades paranormales. Una noche, Jake encuentra a su abuelo Abe sin ojos a punto de morir, el cual le deja una misión que lo hace viajar por la costa de Gales cin su padre Frank para investigar sobre este hogar, el cual descubre que fue destruído en 1943 y se encuentra en ruinas. Jake decide explorar las ruinas encontrándose con los niños de los que su abuelo le habló los cuales lo conducen por un portal el cual emerje en el año 1943 con la casa aún intacta.
Once at the house, he meets Alma Peregrine, who explains that she belongs to a peculiar class called "Ymbryne" and therefore has the power to turn into a bird and also control time, which is why she hides from the outside. in a loop created by her to avoid being harmed for being different, which is accessible only to peculiar people, it should be noted that in this loop they live the same day (September 3, 1943) all the time, so while they if they stay there nothing will happen to them and they won't age either, that explains why they look the same as they did when their grandfather was a child.

While talking with Miss Peregrine, Jake begins to learn about the peculiarities that children have, Olive has the power to heat everything with her hands so she wears rubber gloves, Enoch has the power to revive the dead, Fiona has the power to grow and control plants, Hugh has bees living inside him, Horace can project his dreams, Claire has an extra mouth on the back of her neck, Millard is an invisible child, Bronwyn have superstrength Joseph and Thomas are twins with the power to turn anything they touch into stone. see and Emma can soar and control the wind, so she wears heavy shoes to keep from soaring./div>
Mientras conversa con Miss Peregrine, Jake empieza a conocer las peculiaridades que poseen los niños, Olive tiene el poder de calentar todo con sus manos por lo que usa guantes de caucho, Enoch tiene el poder de revivir a los muertos, Fiona tiene el poder de hacer crecer y controlar las plantas, Hugh tiene abejas viviendo dentro de él, Horace puede proyectar sus sueños, Clairetiene una boca extra en la nuca, Millard es un niño invisible, Bronwyn tiene superfuerza, Joseph y Thomas son los gemelos con poder de convertir en piedra todo aquello que vean y Emma puede elevarse y controlar el viento, por lo que usa zapatos pesados para evitar elevarse.
In the house Jake finds out that it is also peculiar since he can see the "Hollows", which are the invisible creatures of the stories that his grandfather told him. A scene that I really like is where they sit down to eat lunch, since at first Olive made Enoch jealous at first which makes me laugh a lot, the invisible boy tries to sit down to eat naked and Miss Peregrine scolds him, Miss Peregrine eats eagerly without using cutlery, and Claire is embarrassed because she eats with the mouth on the back of her neck and embarrassed in front of Jake, who freaks out when she tells him to eat. I thought it was a funny and funny scene, Jake also finds out that his grandfather left the house to join the army and gets married.
En la casa Jake se entera que también es peculiar ya que puede ver a los "Hollows", los cuales son las criaturas invisibles de las historias que le contaba su abuelo. Una escena que me gusta mucho es en la que se sientan a almorzar, ya que al principio Olive puso celoso a Enoch al principio lo cual me da mucha risa, el niño invisible intenta sentarse a comer desnudo y Miss Peregrine lo regaña, Miss Peregrine come con muchas ganas sin usar cubiertos, y Claire se averguenza porque come con la boca que tiene en la nuca y le da pena delante de Jake, el cual se asusta cuando le dice que coma. Me pareció una escena graciosa y divertida, también Jake se entera que su abuelo dejó la casa para alistarse en el ejercito y se casa.

The next day he returns home and asks Miss Peregrine about Mr Barron worried that his grandfather has gotten involved with dangerous people, but Miss Peregrine refuses, so Enoch, despite the annoyance of the other children, introduces him to Victor, who is also an eyeless dead man, gets scared and goes downstairs, finding Miss Peregrine with the others at the door ready for their ride.
La Ymbryne se llama Miss Avocet, la cual les explica que Barron la agredió en el ciclo del tiempo de 2016 y mató a todos sus hijos para comerse sus ojos y está tratando de repetir el intento fallido con más Ymbrynes. Jake regresa a 2016 y se encuentra a su padre, los cuales caminan juntos hacia el hotel cuando se consiguen a un hombre el cual le pregunta a Jake si el ha asesinado a un rebaño de ovejas, el cual se niega rotundamente aunque luego tiene problemas con su padre por haber mentido y ocultado que estaba explorando una casa abandonada. After the ride Miss Peregrine tells Jake about the origin of Mr. Barron, who was actually a peculiar scientist whose failed experiment with him and his team to become immortal turned them into Hollows and to preserve their apparently human form they must eat the eyes of peculiar children. When Jake returns he finds out that an old man has died and realizing that his eyes are missing he realizes that a Hollow killed him so he returns to the loop to warn Miss Peregrine and the children, not realizing that Mr. Barron posing as a photographer follows him and takes him hostage. Miss Peregrine and the children are packing to leave when Mr. Barron knocks on the door, threatening Jake.

Barron forces Miss Peregrine to turn into a bird and takes her to Blackpool, leaving the children, Jake, and Miss Avocet as prey for Malthus, a hollow who, when the children try to defend himself, kills Mrs. Avocet by throwing her through a wooden door which he broke. The hollow is invisible to the children except Jake, so the children manage to escape the house just as the house is destroyed, since without Miss Peregrine the day cannot be restarted, so they are trapped in 1943 as the loop has been closed.
Barron obliga a Miss Peregrine a convertirse en un ave y la lleva a Blackpool, dejando a los niños, a Jake y a Miss Avocet como presa de Malthus, un hollow que cuando los niños tratan de defenderse mata a la Sra Avocet lanzándola a través de una puerta de madera la cual rompió. They decide to rescue a sunken ocean liner to go rescue Miss Peregrine in Blackwood, once there Emma, Jake and Millard go down and enter what looks like the entrance to a subway tunnel called "Ghost Train", which is actually the entrance of a loop which takes them to a fair. Once they cross the loop, they go to "Blackpool Tower" where they face Barron's allied wights and hollows, while Emma gets stuck in the train cables but luckily they escape.
Ellos deciden rescatar un transatlántico hundido para ir a rescatar a Miss Peregrine a Blackwood, una vez allí Emma, Jake y Millard bajan y entran a lo que parece la entrada de un túnel del metro llamado "Ghost Train", que en realidad es la entrada de un bucle el cual los lleva a una feria. Una vez cruzan el bucle, van hacia "La Torre Blackpool" dónde se enfrentan a los wights y hollows aliados de Barron, en el transcurso Emma queda atascada en los cables del tren pero afortunadamente escapan.
Once out of the loop, Enoch brought back to life many skeletons that were on the ship and manage to form an army to fight against the hollows and wight, and inside the loop the children defend themselves by throwing snowballs at the hollows to make them visible, and then the skeletons enter to fight. Curiously, Tim Burton makes a cameo in the amusement park, where he is hit by a defeated skeleton that throws a hollow.
Una vez fuera del bucle, Enoch regresó a la vida a muchos esqueletos que se encontraban en el barco y logran formar un ejercito para pelear contra los hollows y wight, y dentro del bucle los niños se defienden lanzando bolas de nieve a los hollows para hacerlos visibles, y luego entran los esqueletos a luchar. Curiosamente Tim Burton hace un cameo en el parque de atracciones, en dónde es golpeado por un esqueleto vencido que arroja un hollow.
They finally manage to defeat the hollows and one of Barron's minions and confront the other minions managing to rescue Miss Peregrine and the other Ymbrynes. When they face the last hollow, he tries to kill Jake, but Jake manages to see him and avoid him, so the hollow ends up killing Barron, and Jake in turn kills the hollow. Jake says goodbye to the kids who go back to 1943 as he stays in 2016.
Finalmente logran vencer a los hollows y a uno de los secuaces de Barron y se enfrentan a los demás secuaces logrando rescatar a Miss Peregrine y la las demás Ymbrynes. Cuando se enfrentan al último hollow este intenta matar a Jake, pero este logra verlo y evitarlo por lo que el hollow termina matando a Barron, y Jake a su vez mata al hollow. Jake se despide de los niños que regresan a 1943 ya que el se queda en el 2016.
Once home, he tells his grandfather that his adventure is now alive since Barron's death in 2016 erased his appearance in Florida later so he could never kill Abe, who gives Jake a map of loops temporary with which Jake manages to meet with his friends in 1943 who travel in search of a time loop to live in peace while Miss Peregrine watches them standing from the tower smiling while rubbing her arm and then flies with them thus ending the movie.
Una vez en casa, le cuenta a su abuelo que ahora está vivo su aventura ya que al morir Barron en el 2016 borró su aparición en Florida más adelante por lo que nunca pudo matar a Abe, el cual le da a Jake un mapa de bucles temporales con el cual Jake logra reunirse con sus amigos en 1943 los cuales viajan en busqueda de un bucle temporal para poder vivir en paz mientras Miss Peregrine los observa parada desde la torre sonriendo mientras se frota un brazo y luego vuela con ellos terminando así la pelicula.
Wow, I personally liked this movie a lot. Tim Burton never disappoints and I really like the personal touch that he puts in each one of his works, the photography and special effects are excellent, as well as the costumes and makeup of the characters, of which my favorite is Miss Peregrine. I also like the color palette a lot since you can see that the scenes on the island of the year 2016 are more than all somber with greenish and bluish tones instead, when it is inside the loop everything is quite happy and colorful. This technique has also been applied before in other films such as Corpse Bride.
Wow, en lo personal esta pelicula me gustó bastante. Tim Burton nunca decepciona y me gusta mucho el toque personal que le pone a cada una de sus obras, la fotografía y efectos especiales son excelentes, así como el vestuario y maquillaje de los personajes de los cuales mi favorita es Miss Peregrine. La paleta de colores también me gusta mucho ya que se puede ver que las escenas en la isla del año 2016 son más que todos sombrías con tonos verdosos y azulados en cambio, cuando está dentro del bucle todo es bastante alegre y colorido. Esta técnica también la ha aplicado antes en otras peliculas como por ejemplo El Cadáver de la Novia.
The performance of all the actors was really masterful, I had already seen movies before with Samuel L. Jackson and Terrence Stamp so I really liked that they acted here, I also really liked the naturalness with which Eva Green plays Miss Peregrine and the I also loved the performance of the children, especially Asa Butterfield who plays Jake and Ella Purnell who plays Emma. The children's clothing style also seems incredible to me since they really seem to be taken from the 1940s. The setting is also incredible, very Burton-style.
La actuación de todos los actores fué realmente magistral, ya había visto peliculas antes con Samuel L. Jackson y Terrence Stamp por lo que me gustó mucho que actuaran aquí, también me gustó mucho la naturalidad con la que Eva Green interpreta a Miss Peregrine y la actuación de los niños en especial de Asa Butterfield que interpreta a Jake y Ella Purnell que interpreta a Emma también me encantó. El estilo de vestuario de los niños también me parecen increibles ya que realmente parecen sacados de la época de los años 40. La ambientación también es increible muy al estilo Burton.
The first time I saw this movie was at the cinema in Aruba, since for the first time I saw a cinema the huge promotional poster caught my attention, so my Aruban relatives invited me to see it, and it was not a problem for me. understand it because although it did not have subtitles as it was in English I could understand it perfectly. I really recommend it to everyone, it's a movie with the perfect mix of drama, romance and comedy which only a director of the stature of Tim Burton could have brought to the big screen, I keep hoping that he can do the sequels in the near future.
La primera vez que vi esta pelicula fué en el cine en Aruba, ya que por primera vez que conocí un cine me llamó mucho mi atención el inmenso poster promocional, por lo que mis familiares arubianos me invitaron a verla, y no fué un problema para mí entenderla ya que aunque no tenía subtitulos como era en inglés pude entenderla a la perfección. De verdad que se las recomiendo a todos, es una pelicula con la mezcla perfecta de drama, romance y comedia la cual sólamente un director de la talla de Tim Burton pudo haber traído a la gran pantalla, mantengo la esperanza de que pueda hacer las secuelas en un futuro cercano.
