En mi lista de anime que tenía pendiente por ver de los que más sobresalían sin duda era Demon Slayer. Fueron muchas las personas que me lo habían recomendado hasta que por fin decidí hacer caso y me lancé la aventura. Después de haber visto los dos primeros arcos, por que el tercero estrenado en el diciembre pasado aún no lo comienzo, puedo decir que es una de los mejores anime que he visto tanto por su historia como por su capacidad para conectar de una forma sentimental con las personas.

In my list of anime that I had pending to see, one of the most outstanding was undoubtedly Demon Slayer. There were many people who had recommended it to me until I finally decided to pay attention to it and I started the adventure. After having seen the first two arcs, because the third one released last December I have not started it yet, I can say that it is one of the best anime I have seen both for its story and for its ability to connect in a sentimental way with people.

De hecho esa última es una de las características más frecuentes dentro de este genero pero la cosa es que hay algunos que no las explotan al máximo, caso contrario de lo que sucede con esta historia de demonios y cazadores. Así que bueno, hoy vengo a comentarles un poco mis impresiones acerca de esta joya y del por que todos los amantes del anime deberían verlo.

In fact that last one is one of the most frequent characteristics within this genre but the thing is that there are some that do not exploit them to the fullest, contrary to what happens with this story of demons and hunters. So well, today I come to tell you my impressions about this gem and why all anime lovers should watch it.

Vamos a empezar con decir de que se trata, en pocas palabras, esta increíble historia. La trama se centra en nuestro protagonista Tanjiro Kamado, un joven que vive con su familia y que se dedica a la venta de carbón. De las cualidades más importantes de él es que tiene un corazón extremadamente puro y bueno, no hay un ápice de maldad en su ser. Que pasa? - pues que todo cambia cuando su familia es asesinada siendo su hermana Nezuko y él los únicos sobrevivientes.

Let's start with saying what this incredible story is about, in a few words. The plot focuses on our protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, a young man who lives with his family and is dedicated to the sale of coal. One of the most important qualities of him is that he has an extremely pure and good heart, there is not a hint of evil in his being. What happens? - Well, everything changes when his family is killed and he and his sister Nezuko are the only survivors.

Y fue asesinada por un demonio, siendo ese el detonante para que nuestro Tanjiro decida convertirse en un cazador de demonios y así poder vengar a su familia. También dentro de sus motivaciones está el poder volver a convertir en humana a su hermana quien en el ataque terminó convertida. En estos primeros dos arcos lo que van a poder ver es el entrenamiento de Tanjiro junto a las "misiones" que lo acompañarán con la finalidad de derrotar al mayor número de demonios posibles.

Also within his motivations is to be able to turn his sister back into a human, who ended up converted in the attack. In these first two arcs you will be able to see Tanjiro's training and the "missions" that will accompany him in order to defeat as many demons as possible.

Entonces, hablamos de la trama en si. Siempre me van a sorprender estas historias y sus hilos conductores porque a pesar de que puede parecer algo hecho para niños la verdad es que no lo es. Se lo comentaba a la persona que me recomendó este anime que de lo que más me gusto es lo profunda y cruda que es la historia y esto eso porque toca temas como el amor incondicional, el apego familiar, el deseo de superación, el valor de la amistad, etc.

So, let's talk about the plot itself. I will always be surprised by these stories and their main threads because even though it may seem like something made for children, the truth is that it is not. I told the person who recommended this anime to me that what I liked the most is how deep and raw the story is, and this is because it touches on themes such as unconditional love, family attachment, the desire to overcome, the value of friendship, etc.

Y digo amistad porque a lo largo de esos viajes Tanjiro conocerá a un par de personas cuya relación nos demostrará lo que les comenté anteriormente, que la amistad no es una forma de comportarse hacia otra personas sino una cualidad que viene intrínseca en las personas. Esto también nos lleva a que un factor MUY importante acá también es la familia, creo que es uno de los comunes denominadores porque tanto para los buenos de la historia como para los malos, en este caso, los demonios, la familia es el gran motor que los impulsa y eso es algo que me llamó poderosamente la atención.

And I say friendship because along those trips Tanjiro will meet a couple of people whose relationship will show us what I said before, that friendship is not a way of behaving towards other people but a quality that comes intrinsic in people. This also leads us to the fact that a VERY important factor here is also the family, I think it is one of the common denominators because both for the good guys of the story and for the bad guys, in this case, the demons, the family is the great engine that drives them and that is something that caught my attention.

La humanización de los demonios me pareció increíble, como a pesar de ser seres llenos de maldad y cuyo fin es acabar con los humanos pueden ser capaces de tener sentimientos y materializarlos a tal forma que uno como espectador puede llegar a empatizar con ellos en algún momento; de las cosas más impresionantes de Kimetsu no Yaiba.

The humanization of the demons seemed incredible to me, how despite being beings full of evil and whose purpose is to kill humans, they can be able to have feelings and materialize them in such a way that one as a viewer can empathize with them at some point; one of the most impressive things in Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Demás esta decir que el "gore" está muy presente. Vemos violencia, sangre, amputaciones y hasta torturas que le dan ese toque adulto que hace guste tanto, por lo menos en mi caso. Creo que es una combinación brutal esos temas porque crea como una dualidad interesante, un demonio que llora por su padre o porque fue un incomprendido pero que cinco minutos antes quería matarte, me parece hasta poética la situación.

Needless to say that the "gore" is very present. We see violence, blood, amputations and even tortures that give it that adult touch that makes me like it so much, at least in my case. I think it is a brutal combination of these themes because it creates an interesting duality, a demon who cries for his father or because he was misunderstood but five minutes before he wanted to kill you, I think the situation is even poetic.

No quiero dejar de mencionar las animaciones porque es otro de los grandes aciertos. Está muy bien lograda porque hay escenas donde pasamos del 2D al 3D en segundos y eso es algo que impresiona mucho. Utilizan también mucho la cámara lenta o "slow motion" que a la hora de los combates queda de otro nivel porque el nivel de detalle que vemos es muy top y realista. Así que ahí tienen, otra muy buena razón más.

I don't want to forget to mention the animations because it is another of the great successes. It is very well done because there are scenes where we go from 2D to 3D in seconds and that is something that impresses a lot. They also use a lot of slow motion, which when it comes to combat is another level because the level of detail we see is very top and realistic. So there you have it, another very good reason.

En fin, una anime que como pueden ver lo tiene todo y que merece ser visto por todos aquellos que sean fanático de este mundo. Habiendo solo visto los dos primeros arcos no me queda duda que es de los mejores que hay. El primero tiene 26 episodios y el segundo tiene siete, así que ve rápido y fácil. No pierdan más tiempo y búsquenlo que no se van a arrepentir.

In short, an anime that as you can see has it all and deserves to be seen by all those who are fans of this world. Having only seen the first two arcs I have no doubt that it is one of the best there is. The first has 26 episodes and the second has seven, so go fast and easy. Don't waste any more time and look for it, you won't regret it.
