Today I was listening to some Michael Jackson, reminiscing about his wide variety of songs—which, by the way, I’ve been adding to my @scrobbledlife playlist so you can listen to them and enjoy them.
The song “Remember the Time” was a hit back in the day, and I think it still stirs up a lot of emotions even now. Michael Jackson was an iconic American singer, songwriter, dancer, and philanthropist, known as the King of Pop. He liked to express his emotions through his songs, and in this case, the song speaks of nostalgia and memories of a past love.
Who hasn't felt nostalgic for the past? Has the memory of a past love made you feel sad? These are questions I like to ask you because that's what the song is about, and I want you to connect with it.
Here are the lyrics to Michael Jackson's song “Remember the Time”
I don't know, bet you wanna try Every time you see
Do you remember When we fell in love? We were young and innocent then Do you remember How it all began? It just seemed like heaven, so why did it end?
Do you remember (I bet you remember) Back in the fall? (I bet you remember) We'd be together all day long (I bet you remember) (I bet you remember) Do you remember (I bet you remember) Us holding hands? (I bet you remember) In each other's eyes, we'd stare (I bet you remember) (I bet) tell me
Do you remember the time When we fell in love? Do you remember the time (When we first met, girl?) Do you remember the time (oh, I) When we fell in love? Do you remember the time?
Do you remember How we used to talk? You know We'd stay on the phone at night 'til dawn Do you remember All the things we said? Like, "I love you so, " "I'll never let you go"
Do you remember (I bet you remember) Back in the spring? (I bet you remember) Every morning birds would sing (I bet you remember) (I bet you remember) Do you remember (I bet you remember) Those special times? (I bet you remember) They'll just go on and on (I bet you remember) In the back of my mind
Do you remember the time (oh, I) When we fell in love? Do you remember the time (when we first met, girl?) Do you remember the time (oh, I) When we fell in love? Do you remember the time?
Those sweet memories Will always be dear to me And girl, no matter what was said I will never forget what we had Now, baby
Do you remember the time (do you remember?) When we fell in love? Do you remember the time (when we first met, girl?) Do you remember the time (oh, I) When we fell in love? Do you remember the time? (Remember, my baby)
Do you remember the time ('cause I remember) When we fell in love? Do you remember the time? (All in my mind, girl) Do you remember the time (oh, I) When we fell in love? Do you remember the time? (Remember, my baby)
Remember the time (woo) Remember the time (do you remember, girl?) Remember the time (on the phone, you and me) Remember the time ('til dawn, 'til three) (What about us, girl?)
Remember the time (Do you? Do you? Do you? Do you? Do you?) Remember the time (In the park, on the beach) Remember the time (you and me in Spain) (What about-, what about-) Remember the time
Remember the time (ooh, in the park) Remember the time (after dark) (Do you? Do you? Do you?) Remember the time (Do you? Do you? Do you? Do you?) Remember the time (yeah, yeah, woo) Remember the time (remember the time)
This wonderful song has a story behind it; it was written by Teddy Riley, Michael Jackson, and Bernard Belle and released in 1992 as part of the album Dangerous. It was also produced at that time by Michael Jackson alongside Teddy Riley. The song came about when Michael described the feeling of falling in love with someone from his past.
What can I say? I love the way he sings this song, as if he were telling the story of a past love—remembering how they met or why they broke up. He weaves the romance with a touch of mischief, showing that he still has memories of what happened in that relationship. He does it all so simply that it seems effortless, even though it’s painful at the same time. I liked the music video; the intro was pretty weird at first—a bit of a distraction, haha—but then the good part started when Michael Jackson appeared. Now I’m asking you: have you ever heard this classic? I’d love to hear from you in the comments. Cheers!!!
