True Beauty nos trae la historia de Im Joo Kyung (Moon Ga Young) una chica que tiene problemas de autoestima y confianza por haber sufrido bullying debido a su apariencia, hasta que un día decide aprender a maquillarse viendo videos en Youtube, por suerte para ella debido a una situación familiar deciden mudarse y tiene que cambiarse de colegio, ella aprovecha esa oportunidad para comenzar de nuevo ya que en ese colegio nadie la conoce y decide esconder su verdadera apariencia detras del maquillaje convirtiéndose así en la chica más hermosa de su nuevo colegio. Algo que me gustó mucho de este personaje es que pesar de su inseguridad y baja autoestima tiene una personalidad bastante alegre y positiva, también es un poco torpe, pero eso le daba un toque muy gracioso a la historia, a la actriz que interpretó este personaje ya la habia visto antes cuando era una niña en otro drama y me pareció muy talentosa, me gusto mucho verla protagonizando su propio drama, sin duda lo hizo excelente. 🥰

Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo) es el protagonista masculino de esta historia, estudia en el nuevo colegio de Joo kyung y es muy popular por ser muy guapo, además del ser el estudiante número 1, pero es un chico bastante reservado y le cuesta dejar que las personas se acerquen a él, esto se debe a que Su Ho tiene un pasado complicado que lo hace comportarse asi. Al principio algo que me molestó de este personaje es que es super inexpresivo, como si no tuviese emociones, pero eso dejo de molestarme cuando ví que se enamoro de la Joo kyung sin maquillaje que solía ver en la tienda de comics y no de la Joo kyung con maquillaje que conoció en el colegio y es que yo me esperaba un protagonista odioso y arrogante que desprecia a la chica por fea y luego se enamora con un tonto y no, la personalidad de Su Ho es muy tierna, es un chico sencillo y amable a quien no le importan las apariencias si no lo que esta dentro 😍 ¿Como no amarlo?. Había escuchado hablar de Cha Eun Woo, pero no había visto ningún drama con él y quedé completamente enamorada, sin duda hizo un trabajo excelente con este inexpresivo pero tierno personaje. 🥰 Ahora necesito ver más dramas de este hombre. 😍🙏🏻

Han Seo Jun (Hwang In Yeob),es el chico rudo de la escuela, pero no se dejen engañar es duro por fuera, pero tiernito por dentro.😆😍 El estaba entrenando para ser un Idol, pero abandonó su sueño debido a un incidente del pasado, el mismo incidente que marco la vida de Su Ho y que además causo una gran enemistad entre ellos. Cuando conoce a Joo Kyung al principio solo se le acerca para molestar a Su Ho, pero luego se enamora de ella. Al principio este personaje me hizo enojar un poco por su actitud arrogante tanto con Su Ho como con Joo Kyung, pero al mismo tiempo no podía odiarlo porque su interacción tan tierna con su madre me hacia pensar que su rudeza eran solo una fachada y no me equivoqué. Algo que ame es que pesar de desarrollar sentimientos fuertes por Joo Kyung no se metió en el medio de la relación entre ella y su amigo, la verdad sufrí mucho con este personaje porque sufría en silencio, quería meterme en el drama y abrazarlo 🥺 la verdad Seo Jun es sin duda uno de los mejores personajes de este drama y Hwang In Yeob fue perfecto en su interpretación, ya lo había visto en family by choice, pero en este drama lo ame aún más 😍🥰

La verdad este personaje lo sufrí mucho por ese cambio tan brusco de buena a mala porque le había agarrado cariño, algo que no me gusto es que no profundizarán más en su personaje ya que ese tema sobre la presión que ejercen los padres sobres su hijos en Corea para que sean los mejores se me hace un tema bastante importante.

Algo que ame de la historia y que ansiaba ver era el momento en el que se descubriera la verdad de Joo Kyung en el colegio, ya tenía super claro que Su Ho estaba enamorado de ella sin importar su apariencia, pero necesitaba ver como esta chica superaba su inseguridad, era válido su miedo a mostrarse tal cual era por todo lo que vivió en el pasado, pero era necesario que enfrentera ese miedo, si no, siento que la historia no huiese tenido ningún sentido, o alguna enseñanza.
Something I loved about the story and I was looking forward to see was the moment when Joo Kyung's truth was discovered at school, I already had super clear that Su Ho was in love with her regardless of her appearance, but I needed to see how this girl overcame her insecurity, it was valid her fear to show herself as she was because of everything she lived in the past, but it was necessary to face that fear, if not, I feel that the story would not have had any sense, or any teaching.

I really enjoyed how each thing was sorted out and each character was healing their wounds as past misunderstandings were cleared up, the friendship between Su Ho and Seo Jun was restored and they each went back to who they were and even resumed old projects they had put aside because of guilt, I also loved how Joo Kyung found real friendships in her new school who loved her despite her looks, as it should be!!!! 🥰
El K-drama trata temas como el bullying que sufren algunas chicas debido a su apariencia y como esto llega afectar su autoestima, haciendo que quieran esconderse detras del maquillaje por miedo a mostrarse como son y ser rechazas, ojo, maquillarse para realzar la belleza no esta mal, lo malo esta en que lo hagamos por la presión de no ser criticadas por nuestra apariencia sin maquillaje, también trata el tema del cyberacoso y el bullying que sufren muchas veces los Idols en esta industria, como sufren debido a los rumores falsos y como esto llega a afectar sus vidas, vamos, creo que para casi nadie es un secreto que los artistas coreanos no pueden cometer el más mínimo error porque sus fans por lo menos la mayoría se les vienen en contra y hacen sus vidas un infierno, algo en lo que estoy en contra totalmente y que espero que algún día cambie.
