Well, we are all well aware—and were around a couple of years ago—when a series arrived that defined a new generation of Netflix shows, yet also evoked nostalgia for those of us who grew up with an animated series full of adventure and life lessons. I still remember when this series became a massive hit; it made me reflect on how different the reaction was compared to that 2010 movie—the one many people still prefer to ignore and forget. Even so, it is worth mentioning; the show has been very well received, and having finished it just last night, I naturally couldn't resist sharing my thoughts with you all.
Bueno, todos somos conscientes y estuvimos presentes hace un par de años cuando llegó una serie que marcó una nueva generación en series para Netflix, pero que al igual nos trajo nostalgia a nosotros, quienes crecimos con una serie animada llena de aventuras y enseñanzas. Aún recuerdo cuando esta serie se hizo demasiado popular; me hizo considerar lo diferente que fue la reacción en comparación con aquella película del 2010 que hasta ahora muchos prefieren ignorar y no recordar. Aun así, está aquí en mención; sí tiene una recepción sumamente aceptable y yo, que la terminé de ver anoche, obvio no me iba a quedar con las ganas de compartir mi opinión con ustedes.
If for some reason you haven't seen it: Avatar: The Last Airbender is a Netflix series produced in partnership with Nickelodeon that aims to stay as true as possible to the original story of the 2005 animated series and its comics. And if you aren't into cartoons: this series follows the adventures of elemental masters; in this universe, a portion of the population has the ability to control one of the four main elements—Air, Earth, Water, or Fire. But above all, the story tells of an Avatar who appears in every generation to maintain balance in the world.

To put it simply, the story follows Aang—the last surviving Airbender—who had been frozen in ice; he was preserved there following an incident, thereby escaping a war that sought to wipe out his people to prevent the next Avatar from emerging. For a century, the Airbenders were believed to be extinct, until Aang was discovered—an event that upended everything previously known and set him on the path to mastering the Avatar State. Throughout the series, Aang and his friends deliver epic, unsurpassed moments that are all the more impressive thanks to the meticulous attention to detail poured into this adaptation.
Bueno, directamente, sigue la historia de Aang, el último maestro aire que estaba vivo y congelado, pues tras un incidente se congeló sin sufrir una guerra que buscó acabar con su especie para evitar que naciera el próximo avatar. Durante 100 años se creyó que estos ya no existían, hasta que un día lo encontraron, cambiando todo lo que se sabía y comenzando su rumbo a dominar su estado avatar. A lo largo de la serie, Aang y sus amigos nos regalan momentos épicos e insuperables que se admiran por la calidad al detalle que le dieron a esta adaptación.
Currently, the series spans two seasons, with only one remaining to bring this chapter to a close. It really cannot be dragged out any further; given how long productions take these days, a series featuring young characters is difficult to sustain, as physical changes eventually become apparent that no longer align with the story being told. I immediately noticed the changes in the actors—most of whom had matured somewhat, with the signs of adolescence becoming more evident in each of them. Nevertheless, they managed to keep the essence of their characters intact; the show remains fascinating to watch, clearly demonstrating the high quality of the production. They understood what is required for a genuine live-action adaptation and have preserved the spirit of this great universe.
Actualmente, esta cuenta con dos temporadas, solamente faltando una para darle fin a este ciclo. Realmente, esto no se puede alargar más, pues con lo tardías que son las producciones hoy en día, una serie con personajes jóvenes es difícil de mantener porque a la larga se van notando diferencias que no van a ir acorde a la historia que quieren contar. Yo de una capté el cambio de los actores, quienes en su mayoría cambiaron un poco, siendo más notable la adolescencia en cada uno de ellos. Mas sin embargo, supieron mantener intactas sus esencias; sigue siendo muy fascinante de ver, notándose la alta calidad que estos manejan. Entendieron lo que se necesita para un live action de verdad y mantienen intacto lo que significa este gran universo.
Finally, I have to mention that one of the things I enjoyed most was the creation of all the fantastical creatures, as well as the cast and the masterful precision with which all the characters were portrayed. I decided to watch the whole series because I’d been seeing a lot of videos about trivia from the Avatar world on Facebook lately, so I looked it up right away.
