Stranger Things (season 1): Kids, Monsters and a Lot of Mystery

Review by @zoe01 🏆#21 🔥32 🎵1.6k 🎬9 📺47 📚3 · 2h · of Stranger Things season 1 · 1 view

Heya! I am here with another review a TV show (series). I had watched Stranger Things Season 1 and before that I had bare minimum knowledge about it. So when I first watched it I was seeing my surroundings people were getting crazy over it.

I was eager to watch something good and meaningful. And yeah, I would decide if I wanted to continue after finishing the first episode. Because I believe if the starting is good then the ending will be as well.

Well... It was different then what I had expected about.

I watched episode one then I thought "Okay, it's not bad there's bald kid and what's next?" After that I kept watching it and finished season 1 in a day. Because I wanted to know what would happen next like my curiousity wouldn't stop, hehe. The mystery around Will's disappearance was probably the biggest reason. The show gives you little pieces of information and then somehow those little pieces make you even more confused. You think you understand something and then suddenly there is another mystery.

One scene that really stayed with me was when Joyce uses the Christmas lights to communicate with Will. She puts the alphabet on the wall and then realizes that Will is somehow communicating through the lights.

That scene was honestly creepy but also emotional. Imagine your missing son suddenly talking to you through Christmas lights. I would probably just stand there thinking what is happening right now hehe.

I also really liked Eleven. She didn't talk much at the beginning but you could still understand what she was feeling. I liked watching her slowly become closer with Mike Dustin and Lucas. To be honest, their friendship made me jealous that how can someone get such good friends, hehe. I think it's one of the greatest thing in the series.

The kids were funny actually they are older now but according to the season 1 I will call them "kids." They were dealing with monsters and supernatural stuff while still behaving like kids. Meanwhile I would probably be hiding under my bed if I saw even one Demogorgon hehe.

The atmosphere of the show was another thing I really liked. The small town setting felt peaceful at first but there was always this feeling that something was wrong. The bikes and the old houses and the laboratory all added to that feeling.

There were definitely moments when some characters made me annoyed. To be honest, they all made me anxious I was like "Please don't do that! Why are you doing this?" But I guess that is part of watching a show like this. But I get it that if characters took the perfect decisions then the story wouldn't even move forward.

What I learned the basic things about Season 1 was that this show isn't about the monster only but also about friendship and family. Every character has it's own motive and they are trying to find someone they love. It made the story feel more emotional.

Overall I really enjoyed Season 1. It had mystery and horror and friendship and some funny moments too. It kept me curious from beginning to end.

Now I understand why so many people kept telling me to watch Stranger Things. I wasn't expecting to get this invested but here I am hehe.

And now I have to see if Season 2 can actually be as good as this one.

I think you're one of the few people who hadn't seen any ST haha, but that's cool; better late than never.

Let's see... the first two seasons are incredible; in fact, I'd say the second one is my favorite. It dips a bit with the third, the fourth is pretty average, and the last one—well, personally, I didn't like how it wrapped up. Let's see if you like the second season as much as most people do.
