You know how much I love seeing Samara Weaving covered in blood, running for her life, surviving on the edge, and a few days ago I finally got to see Borderline. I hadn't had time to see Over Your Dead Body or Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, two of her films, but I was really looking forward to them. By the way, there's a movie called Caroline Caroline, which apparently hasn't been released in my area, so I'll have to wait to see another Samara Weaving film.

This time, Borderline is quite a strange movie. It's a mix of genres that sometimes left me a little disoriented, especially at the beginning. As the movie progressed, I started to understand the story and appreciate the humor, and that's how I ended up enjoying it. A lot of crazy things happen in this story, some funnier than others, but the ones I enjoyed the most were some of the gory scenes.

The story takes place in the 90s and revolves around Paul, a completely unhinged man, and his obsession with a pop star named Sofia Minor. She's a famous star, and he's a complete loser. His fixation on her, whom he wants to marry, leads him to commit a series of hilarious and somewhat bloody acts.

He won't be alone; he'll be accompanied by a couple of lunatics like himself. Calhoun, his friend, is very strong, not very bright, and has terrible aim. And then there's Penny, a character I loved because she stars in a couple of grotesque and quite disturbing gore scenes. Penny is played by the actress Alba Baptista. I didn't know who she was, so I looked her up and discovered she's a Portuguese actress. I think she has potential in the horror genre. She has a small role in the film Mother Mary, so I hope she gets more work in Hollywood.

The other actor with significant screen time, playing the deranged stalker, is Ray Nicholson, Jack Nicholson's son. He follows in his father's footsteps, bearing a striking resemblance to the teenager with the same unsettling smile. These unhinged roles suit him perfectly. It's a very theatrical character, full of humor and madness, and the actor shines in his role. He and the Portuguese woman are the funniest characters in the film.

Of course, Samara Weaving does what she does best: run, fight, kill, jump, and end up covered in blood, though not quite as much as in some of her other films. While the story isn't entirely well-developed and there are details that betray its low budget, it's still entertaining.

I confess I read it twice, as it was a true pleasure to journey through the voice of Ezequiel Martínez, "Nené." Our young protagonist possesses great creativity and a vivid imagination, and throughout the story, he takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions, from laughter and nostalgia to the terror of danger.

Fantasy and reality intertwine in this work, inviting the reader to experience, alongside Nené and from his innocent perspective, the complex reality of Venezuela in the 1960s. It is there that he reveals his extraordinary abilities: his capacity to speak fly language, or his "helicopter legs." We also meet the love of his early childhood: his beloved Elsy Cristancho, the little girl who smelled of blue soap and who, for him, is the most beautiful in the world. Around him unfolds a web of endearing and unique characters: a hospitalized mother, a poet grandfather, a sergeant father, a guerrilla friend, and a sister who communicates with the Jupiterians.

If you read the back cover of this book, you'll notice the description promises that if you devour the first few lines of Sweet Oranges, you won't be able to put it down. I finally got to see Michael, the biopic about the King of Pop, which has been a resounding box office success. There are artists who transcend time, and of course, Michael Jackson was already known as one of those eternal stars. Loved by millions of people around the world, even young people who were babies when he died listen to him and admire him.

This has been more than proven by the astronomical figures the film has grossed and all the fervor that has followed its release. I had my reservations, my doubts; I wasn't sure if I would like it. For example, I detest the Freddie Mercury biopic; it was a film I didn't like, and I made that clear in the review I wrote at the time.

But Michael, I really liked it. It's true that there are parts where you can tell they had to re-edit. It's no secret, and news has already come out, that there are conflicts and vested interests, so some parts of the film had to be reshot and some material had to be cut during editing. Even Michael's daughter didn't participate in the promotional campaign because she disagreed with some of the lies being told.

We mere mortals, who only knew the Jacksons through television images, music videos, concerts, etc., will never know everything that really happened within that family. Many criticized Michael's daughter, but as we know, we live in an era where everyone has an opinion about everything. She surely knows things her father told her about his relationship with his brothers, etc.

The biopic manages to bring to life aspects of Michael's career, from his beginnings with his brothers in The Jackson 5 to becoming the biggest music star in history. While it does veer into melodrama, the most interesting aspect, and what the film is really about, is Michael's relationship with his father, who is portrayed here as a monstrous being, full of greed and who mistreated his children, especially Michael.

Critics and some viewers have criticized the film for not addressing controversial aspects of Michael's life, but it doesn't delve into the most difficult period of his career and personal life. It tells the story of how Michael manages to break free from his father's control and begins his independence as an artist and as a person. And I thought the decision to only cover a part of his extensive career was a good one; besides, if they had included everything, it would have been three hours longer.

There will be a sequel, and we'll see all the details that the public's morbid curiosity wanted to see. Well, I think so. I haven't read anything official, but seeing the film's box office figures, they're not going to let this opportunity pass them by and they're going to make more money. Of course they will. I'm sure they'll make another film about Michael.

I thought the actor's nephew was good, and in the musical and dance scenes, his work really stood out. The fact that the father of the young man who plays Michael was one of his brothers, with whom he had many problems, or that one of his sisters didn't want her character to appear in the film, none of that matters. The public, the audience, spoke out and supported the film. They loved it; the box office numbers speak for themselves.

I was satisfied. Watching those musical numbers reminds me of when I saw the "Thriller" video on TV. Wow! Michael Jackson is a legend, a superstar, and yes, I was very critical of his physical transformation and laughed at videos like Eminem's where he mocked him, but it's undeniable that he was a musical phenomenon who will live forever in history.

La película biográfica logra revivir aspectos de la carrera de Michael, desde sus inicios con sus hermanos en The Jackson 5 hasta convertirse en la mayor estrella de la música de la historia. Si bien cae en cierto melodrama, el aspecto más interesante, y de lo que realmente trata la película, es la relación de Michael con su padre, quien es retratado aquí como un ser monstruoso, lleno de avaricia y que maltrataba a sus hijos, especialmente a Michael.

La crítica y parte del público han criticado que no se aborden temas controvertidos de la vida de Michael, pero la película no llega hasta la etapa más difícil de su carrera y vida personal. It’s a story full of emotions; I don’t want to spoil it for you in case you haven’t seen it, but you’ll cry, laugh a little—it has it all. I watched it and now I remember it, since my nephew is autistic, and I think about his childlike innocence and what he’ll be like as an adult—just as brave, dreamy, and intelligent. They’re much more sensitive than we are; they have big hearts and don’t know what evil is. That’s why we have to love them and learn from them.

Mi nombre es khan, así se llama esta historia, dónde veremos a un hombre, recorriendo el país, con un solo objetivo, que tiene de diferente, bueno khan tiene una condición, el síndrome de Asperger, esto lo hace especial y a su vez la trama de la película, mostrando que a pesar de ello, puede tener una vida normal e incluso una familia.

Khan es un niño musulmán que se crió con su madre, y que sufre de síndrome de Asperger, al ser un adulto se enamora de Mandira, una madre soltera hindú que vive en San Francisco.

En los atentados del 11-S, es detenido como sospechoso de terrorismo por conducta sospechosa, esto debido a su condición, entonces comienza un viaje para encontrar y reunirse con el presidente Barack Obama, para así limpiar su nombre y dejar en claro que él no es un terrorista, pero en el transcurso de este viaje, se encontrará en casa situación.

Es una historia llena de emociones, no les quiero hacer spoiler por si no la han visto, pero aquí lloraran, reiran un poco, en fin tiene de todo, yo la vi y ahora la recuerdo, puesto que mi sobrino es autista, y pienso, en su inocencia de niño, y cómo será de adulto, así de valiente, soñador e inteligente, ellos son mucho más susceptible que nosotros, tienen un gran corazón, no saben lo que es la maldad, por eso hay que amarlos, y aprender de ellos.

Si no la han visto, los invito a que lo hagan, es una exelente película para ver en familia.

I found it an entertaining film, not a masterpiece, but it fulfills its purpose of entertaining and will appeal not only to soccer fans but also to those unfamiliar with the sport; they can watch it and understand it. Because Martín de la Torre's character is a scoundrel, a rogue, a man who will use any trick to achieve his goals. He's like any politician, a born liar.

To direct the film, they sought out Gabriel Ripstein, a filmmaker with a more extensive background in television series. I liked his film 600 Miles, and besides, he's the son of Arturo Ripstein, a Mexican filmmaker with an extraordinary career. Many of his films are essential viewing for anyone wanting to experience Mexican cinema. I still remember when I saw Deep Red and it left me speechless.
