Espionage with a taste of Serrano ham

Edited in Photoshop & Canva App
Surely we have all seen a story about spies at some point. The most popular ones are from the United States, with their agents on top-secret espionage missions. There are a large number of films and series on this subject, as well as from other countries where they have fairly strong intelligence agencies. The Israeli Mossad is another agency that is portrayed in films from that country as well as in Hollywood.
Now it's our turn to get to know Spanish spies through this series titled El Centro, because the agency in charge of intelligence in that country is the CNI (National Intelligence Center). I found the proposal interesting after finishing it, but I have the feeling that, even though it entertained me, it's a series that fell short of my expectations. The first episode is good enough to make the viewer want to see how it unfolds, but I feel that it lacks a certain spark.
Intrigue, secrets, betrayals, surveillance, infiltrations, wiretaps, danger, tension, politics, death—all of that should be part of a good spy story, and there is some of that here, but I feel like it falls short and lacks a little more tension at key moments. It's clear that they were inspired by the American format, you can tell they're emulating the style, but there are moments when you can tell they don't have such a big budget, because it lacks impact, even in the denouement, I felt it was too easy. It's not an action series, but even so, a more intense final conflict would have been better.
I don't remember where the hell I saw someone say that it's from the same production company as La Unidad, but I think that's wrong information. When I looked up who produces them, they are two different companies. The only thing they have in common is that both have been broadcast on Movistar+. Of course, it's inevitable to make a comparison because both deal with the themes of terrorism, espionage, etc., but for me, La Unidad seemed more entertaining and had a bigger budget. La Unidad is about a special unit of the Spanish national police fighting terrorism, and El Centro is about the Spanish intelligence service.

David Moreno is the main screenwriter, and I have already seen his work as a screenwriter in the series Nacho and El Inmortal, both of which I reviewed some time ago. The creator of the latter is the same as that of El Centro, so both have experience in successful and entertaining productions. However, perhaps because of the espionage theme and the attempt to emulate the Americans, it doesn't quite end up being a perfect series. Maybe if there is a second season, they will have a bigger budget and do something with greater visual impact.
The cast didn't quite gel for me; there are some actors whose characters lack depth and consistency in their actions. The only one I loved and enjoyed every time he appeared was the character Iñaki Olano, played by David Llorente. He is a sly, distrustful, bad-tempered, foul-mouthed old fox, telling everyone to fuck off. For me, he is the best character in this story, and that is entirely thanks to the actor. Now, the character I hated was the journalist Elsa, perhaps because she is a woke progressive character. I'm not making this up; she makes her position very clear from the first episode.
The character Michelín, who is the main character, is played by the actor Juan Diego Botto. He neither excited nor annoyed me. For the main character, his actions and reactions were bland, like eating a boiled egg without salt. I really hope that if they make another season, they improve the details and flaws in the story. I looked for information about its renewal and couldn't find anything, for the moment. Maybe they're waiting to see if it gets any recognition or to gauge the audience's response.
It's not a long season, only six episodes, so you can watch them two at a time. It's an acceptable product that won't blow you away, but if you want to watch some espionage with a Spanish flavor, it's fine. This way we see something different from the many CIA super agents in American productions.
If you get to see it, tell me your opinion in the comments.

Movie · on The Great FloodMovie Review: The Great Flood (2025)I started this movie expecting something light, but when I saw the title The Great Flood, I immediately knew I wanted to watch it.
I avoided checking the rating or reading any information before watching the movie, because I didn’t want to be influenced or prejudiced, or to see any spoiler. I let the movie surprise me.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29927663/?ref_=fn_t_1When I realized that the movie was Korean, I had second thoughts. Don’t get me wrong, I believe Korean cinema has a very special style, often with high-quality productions and strong storytelling, but it’s usually not my personal taste. Still, I decided to give it a chance, and I’m glad I did, so that I am in the position to write this review :)
The opening scenes immediately hooked me: a mother and her young son wake up in a flooded house (3rd floor apartment) and are struggling to escape a flood. I wanted to stop watching, but I simply could not.
The storyline:
A disastrous great flood sweeps the planet. On what may be the last day on Earth, a desperate fight ensues to save a child from a flooding apartment.
My review contains as few spoilers as possible I would say almost none, so you won’t have the experience ruined—but do read on if you want an idea of whether it’s worth spending almost two hours on this film.

Initially, I thought the movie would focus on a flood disaster. I’ve personally experienced a flood a few years ago, so I knew it would affect me emotionally.
However, the story quickly evolves into something much bigger. The flood is only part of a larger disaster. From there, the movie develops into a sci-fi thriller, unfolding multiple storylines, unexpected twists, and ideas that take the plot in directions I honestly didn’t anticipate.
There were moments where my heart almost broke, and others where I felt completely confused. After the first hour, some scenes felt slow or unclear, and a few transitions were so abrupt that I had to rewind and rewatch certain parts because I genuinely felt I’d missed important information needed to understand what was happening next.

I didn’t fall asleep (wow, right?!), but the film definitely demanded constant attention. Even after it ended, I went back to rewatch a specific scene, and I still have a few unanswered questions.
The core idea behind The Great Flood is smart and ambitious. Visually, it’s impressive, with some genuinely striking graphics and well-executed disaster sequences. However, there are noticeable gaps in the storytelling. Certain plot points feel underexplained, leaving viewers with more questions than intended.

As someone who isn’t deeply familiar with Korean cinema, I suspect that regular viewers of the genre may appreciate the film more and rate it higher than I did.
After watching, I checked other reviews, and they aligned perfectly with my thoughts. Ratings range wildly from 1/10 to 9/10, and honestly, I understand all of them.

The movie is brand new and has already caught a lot of attention. I expect the rating to shift slightly over time, but I don’t see it going beyond a 6. I imagine it will remain just above 5, and that’s exactly where I’d place it.
Current rating: 5.4 / 10 (out of 5,2K reviews) - I would agree with this number
The acting was decent but I would not call it outstanding. The direction and cinematography were good, and the visual effects ranged from “nice” to impressive in some scenes.
I’d recommend The Great Flood for a mystery or movie night with friends or your partner, but please be prepared for its 1 hour and 50 minute duration and a plot that requires patience and attention.
If you decide to watch it, I would love to hear your thoughts and feelings about it.

Thank you for your time, as always! I hope this was a useful review!
Movie · on The Running ManThe Running Man (2025) - Movie Review [ES - EN]
The Running Man, released last November, directed and co-written by Edgar Wright and starring Glen Powell, is based on a 1985 novel of the same name by Stephen King. The story was previously adapted for film in the late 1980s, starring _** Arnold Schwarzenegger**. That version leaned heavily toward action and strayed from the original story, but this new version is much more influenced by the original material, showing a dystopian United States where there is a clear and significant division between social classes, leading the most disadvantaged to participate in "reality shows" in order to win money that could change their lives. However, there is one peculiarity: these types of television programs are not easy at all, as the lives of each participant are put in danger, forcing each man or woman to flee from society and lethal hunters in order to survive and possibly win.

I would be lying if I said I had no expectations of seeing Wright's vision with The Running Man. In my opinion, and after what he did in Baby Driver, I think he was the right choice to recreate the chase that the protagonist of the story should experience, and in the few action scenes, I think he did a decent job, but it was by no means impressive or did it meet my expectations. I think the need to be faithful to the original material may have prevented the director from making another action-packed version, and instead, he delved deeper into the story of class struggle, which is the true basis of the story.

The script, written by both Wright and Michael Bacall, tries to be as faithful as possible to what King wrote 40 years ago. I think that's what I like most about dystopian stories that imagine a possible future where society is a victim of its vices or various harmful practices. And when we reach the time period in which the story originally takes place, even though we don't currently live in such a futuristic world, I'm surprised that an idea or story written in the 1980s feels so current. In my opinion, that is what I liked most about this film, which delves into the motives of its protagonist, as well as those who drive him to risk his life for the entertainment of others.

I am convinced that one of the strengths of this film is the casting; I liked Glen Powell's performance as Ben Richards. I was convinced by his role as a man who must fulfill the role of provider and protector and who is willing to do everything possible and impossible to provide stability for his family, but his rebelliousness causes him to fail as a father, and that generates so much frustration that it is difficult for him to control the anger he cannot help but feel. I thought his performance was good, it's entertaining, although I think I would have liked to see more drama from the character, but I think he is a victim of poor character writing in that area. Another character who is very important in the story is "Dan Killian," played by Josh Brolin, who, in my opinion, makes an excellent villain. He is the devil in man, convincing anyone to sell their soul, and he is very good at it. He is an equally entertaining character, and I think the two actors complement each other perfectly to make this film work. I regret that this chemistry does not exist with other characters, whether they are antagonists or even allies of the protagonist.

I regret that I won't like this movie very much, as it's one of those productions that has a lot of potential but fails to reach it because it seems that during filming, changes were made to possibly please the masses. If that's what happened, I think it was a big mistake because it betrays itself by making changes that don't enhance the story. Although I have negative opinions about this new version of The Running Man, I do appreciate many aspects of it, especially the accuracy of this type of dystopian story, which, regardless of when it was written, somehow remains very relevant today. It's the same feeling I had when I saw "The Long Walk" (also by ** King**). These are stories that unfortunately stand the test of time; they are accurate, which always worries me, and that is possibly the true potential of a film that I think many expected to be a typical action movie.

Movie · on My Secret SantaMy Secret Santa (2025): Movie ReviewIf you are looking at something simple, light and kinda cute, then check out My Secret Santa, a light Christmas romance for a relaxing night
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt35219851When I’m tired and just want to relax my brain, I usually look for light movies, preferably under two hours. Ideally, around 1 hour and 30 minutes, long enough to enjoy, short enough not to fall asleep as a rock on my couch.
A couple of days ago, while browsing what’s new on Netflix, I came across My Secret Santa, a brand new movie.
I didn’t recognize any of the actors, but I noticed two things that immediately caught my attention: it was labeled as a comedy, and it had the perfect runtime of 1h 30 minutes. That was enough for me to press play, plus I wanted to give those unknown (to me at last) actors! I did not bother to check rating in advance, as I did not want to be prejudiced.
Story
Taylor disguises as Santa at a resort to fund her daughter's ski lessons. Working with the charming manager Matthew, she finds holiday cheer and a chance at love amidst challenges.
Taylor is the actress, it is a female name
As per the genre, it is characterized as a comedy, but...
Let me clarify something right away: Its not a comedy.
Yes, there are a few light and funny moments here and there, but this is a romance all the way.
If you’re looking for lol moments, you might be slightly disappointed. If you’re in the mood for something sweet and emotional, then you’re on the right track.
The story has a touch of originality, but it’s important to know what kind of movie this is. It’s a Christmas movie, filled with festive atmosphere and holiday spirit. Christmas is present not only in the setting, but also in the mood and the message.
If you’re someone who dislikes Christmas movies (yes, I know a few people like that), then this one is probably not for you, and dont blame yourself :))
As for the actors, they do a good job. Nothing feels exaggerated or awkward.
They fit their roles well. The costumes, locations, and overall production are decent and appropriate for the scope of the film. This isn’t a blockbuster, but it doesn’t try to be one. It’s an easy and comfortable watch, perfect for a quiet evening.
The protagonist, trying to solve her single-mom-with-a-previous-dream and no-money issues, tries something off limits, to help her daughter go to a snowbard course.

The sceneries are beautiful, I also pay attention to photography and costumes of a movie

I think that this movie could be pleasantly seen from teens up

There’s also a small mystery element woven into the story, which keeps you wondering how everything will unfold. It’s not intense or complicated, but it’s enough to maintain interest and push you to keep watching until the end.
In conclusion, if romantic movies are your style, especially Christmas-themed ones, then I’d recommend giving My Secret Santa a chance.
It has a 5.7/10 rating in imdb, but it is very new, so I would probably check again next year to see how it will change.
My rating would be from 5-5.5 - not more.
If romance isn’t really your thing, you might want to skip it… or maybe just wait for my next movie review!
So, are you into Christmas movies? Let me know below, and thanks for visiting!!

"Winter Fire" | It: Welcome to Derry - Final Season Review [ES - EN]
Once again, horror reigns supreme in the world of entertainment, this time thanks to the Muschietti brothers' idea of taking the interludes from King's novel to develop and deepen the significance of the town of Derry in "It." The account of tragic and terrifying events over a period of 27 years in the history of Derry is the basis for learning about or witnessing the uneven battle between a powerful entity and a group of characters who must unite their courage and friendship in order to survive and give others the opportunity to defeat such a powerful, evil, and hungry being.

The last episode of the first season of "It: Welcome to Derry", titled "Winter Fire," is one of the best and most satisfying season finales I've seen in recent years. I had my doubts about whether this episode would surpass "The Black Spot," but it pleasantly surprised me by exceeding all my expectations, especially given the cliffhanger at the end of the seventh episode. Although the previous episode resolved many subplots, there was no doubt that the appearance of an unexpected villain provided the perfect opportunity for the final confrontation between "Pennywise" and the "Losers Club" of the 1960s, which made it possible to observe the evolution of the characters, both children and adults, that led them to overcome (some of) their fears and try not only to survive, but also to save the entire town and, why not, the world.

In previous episodes, there was always a theme to develop depending on which character or characters should lead the story, and this time, there were two themes that fascinated me because of the way they were handled in that episode. The themes I am referring to were freedom and, once again, fear, both of which appeared in many scenes starring "Pennywise," who, feeling free, was able to do what he had wanted to do for so long, which was to cross the borders of Derry and reach new places where there would be plenty of food and no rejection of his extensive power. But that freedom was accompanied by fear, which led him to the important revelation of "It," which in turn serves as the main motive behind the development of this story and will therefore be the basis for what happens in this season and, of course, the remaining two.

Repeating the themes of freedom and fear, that is not only what defines "It" in this episode, but it is also what drives the other characters to confront it; freedom is represented in how the characters act without showing fear to save a friend or a child; it is the combination of feeling freedom, conviction, and courage that drives each one to demonstrate their final development, a necessary evolution experienced by the characters destined to face the image of evil. In my opinion, in this series, the girls, "Lilly, Ronnie, and Marge," are the perfect "Final Girls," especially "Marge," who became the MVP of the series, where her character undergoes a radical change not only in the story but also in the audience's acceptance. Her relevance from the middle of the season to the end is what drives the existence of another cliché in horror productions, which is the necessary explanation of the villain's motives, and it is precisely that explanation offered by Pennywise that is caused by freedom and, of course, fear.

I thought the entire season was brilliant, although it's not perfect because there are moments where the story, depending on which character the narrative focuses on, starts to decline and loses interest. And although I unfortunately had that feeling in the final episode, I still think that the good parts of the story are due to the performances of the young characters or others who are classics in the universe created by King. I think Muschietti and Fuchs had more hits than misses. One was generating terror and tension without the need to use Pennywise throughout the season, but when his presence was necessary, they decided to show him in all his glory, giving him the great relevance he deserves. In this regard, I must point out that ** Bill Skarsgård**'s performance surpasses what he did in the two films and that makes me very excited not only for the next season but also for the third and final season of the series. Let's hope that the start of filming for the second season, which takes place in the 1930s, is confirmed very soon. I'm intrigued to see what the group of losers from that era will be like and which version of Pennywise they will have to face for the time being. While I calm my eagerness to see more of this story, I will watch episodes one and two, which recount the end or rebirth of "It."

These four episodes were full of emotion. I read mixed reviews, but I thought they were good. I'm a little shocked that it took them so long to release the finale and also by the way they decided to divide it up, but oh well, it's done now. I think these four episodes had some nonsensical details, but in my opinion, the emotion was still there. It's just that when I hear the intro or see the characters in action, I get nostalgic.
The first episode was more of an introduction, showing us what was happening after the recent events. There were some things I didn't like so much, such as Dustin's attitude and his distancing himself from Steven, among other things. It was a quiet episode, as expected, laying the groundwork for what's to come.
For me, the second one was much better. That's when the action started and there were those scenes with the Demogorgon chase. I loved the scene with Mike and Nancy's mom defending little Holly with a broken glass bottle. That scene was also heavily criticized, but for me it was brilliant because it shows the strength we can draw on in times of crisis to defend ourselves and our loved ones. From then on, I felt much more excited about everything that was to come. I know the series isn't perfect, that it has its flaws, but it also has epic and nostalgic moments and subtly prepares you for what's to come. I'm not ready for that at all, but hey, whatever happens, happens.
Although I agree that the best episode was the fourth, that ending was epic, and they are finally giving Will some credit, who I feel is one of the great characters of this season. I was a little disappointed with Eleven; so far, she hasn't been very useful in these episodes, but she is obviously an important part of the story. I'm always rooting for her, so I hope to see more powerful scenes from her.
Well, each character excelled in their own way and had moments to shine. That's what's great about this series; I don't feel like there's a single protagonist. There were many beautiful dialogues to highlight about how music can save us and the value of being ourselves and not looking to anyone else for what we have inside. I'm very eager to see the rest of the episodes, but at the same time, I know we're sure to have some significant losses, and I'm not ready to let go of the series yet. But everything has its cycle, and we'll be here watching.

Movie · on The Black Spot"The Black Spot" | It: Welcome to Derry - Episode Review [ES - EN]
There is no doubt that the main theme of this whole story is "Fear." It is the main reason why It makes Derry its perfect place to hunt, feed, hibernate, and thus begin a cycle again where evil covers a place, creating victims and victimizers, who further fuel the existence of exquisite fear. This is precisely what is referred to in an excellent way in the great seventh episode of "It: Welcome to Derry" called The Black Spot, a place where African Americans living in that town can have fun and enjoy themselves in different ways. but when prejudice, imposition, and the misuse of power make their presence felt, one of the most abhorrent and cruel events in Derry is generated.

My expectations for this episode were very high because many subplots in the series were supposed to come to an end in one way or another in this episode. One of the features that caught my attention the most was the prominence of many characters considered secondary, as they were highly relevant to the narrative of different events in the series and always played a significant role in generating a big impact when this episode premiered. I thought it was extremely cool that each of these characters got the recognition they deserved to become unforgettable characters. This episode was directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Jason Fuchs**_, both creators of the series, which I thought was a good decision to have both of them tell a story that should have been a conclusion, but the reality was that there is always more to tell and, as I pointed out earlier, the subplots of the story found a conclusion in this episode, but there was another one that took on great relevance and points us in the direction of the grand finale.

Muschietti's work is the best part of the episode; the entire attack that takes place in the Black Spot is chaotic, desperate, and terrifying, not to mention Pennywise's presence, who at one point makes another excellent entrance that elevates him as one of the best villains in the world of entertainment. In fact, the entire scene, from its cause to who carries it out and their impunity, is one of the most terrifying things the series has shown, and, in my opinion, it is unfortunately due to real-life events (lynching) in a fictional story, and it is precisely this horrible fact that takes on greater importance at the end of the episode. I already said it in my review of the first episode of the series, and I am increasingly convinced that this production is a complete vindication of Muschietti for the criticizable chapter 2 of "It" and, of course, for the abhorrent "The Flash." this time around, he is able to capture real terror, the supernatural, and, of course, the sweetness of two people seeing each other for the last time; there is no doubt that this is a great work by the Argentine director.

This episode deals with a horrific racial crime that later becomes a feast for It, but both Fuchs and Andy took a break from all the terror to create one of the best scenes I've seen this year, an act of courage, heroism, and love, a demonstration that there is no fear when you are doing the right thing, knowing what the final outcome will be. a scene that is both beautiful and tragic and sad, but perfect as a turning point and generating what is necessary to face the final confrontation. There is no doubt that what was done in that specific scene starring two young actors is the best that this group of relevant protagonists has done, and I am convinced that in the final episode it can be surpassed by everything they will have to deal with in their battle against It.

I will repeat that the main theme of this episode is the use and imposition of fear and society's reaction after a regrettable event; after what I consider, like many others, to be the great and now taking advantage of what we have seen, I can even say how predictable the revelation of the US Army's plans with That was; At first, I thought it was silly, like something that could be seen as a simple excuse to justify actions, but immediately after the motives were revealed, I couldn't stop thinking about the reality of the dialogue shared by the characters who closed such a good episode. Every sentence is very true and at the same time terrifying, which is why I consider this episode to be the best, one that gives great relevance to the criticism of a society that is accustomed to seeing evil deeds and does nothing to prevent them, that minimizes abhorrent acts and promotes regrettable actions. That kind of evil appears in this episode, which is the best of the season so far and has me eagerly awaiting the finale, which premieres this Sunday.

- The Song | Mini Serie Review
laaa la la laaa la la laaa

Edited in Photoshop & Canva App
The Eurovision Song Contest is quite popular in Europe, its region of origin, although with globalization it also has many followers in many parts of the world. In Latin America, I have met people who follow the contest and the participants every year. I am not a die-hard fan, but there were years when I was more interested and followed the dates of the final gala more closely to enjoy the show. In recent years, I haven't paid much attention to it. The last time I was really interested in Eurovision was when Chanel participated for Spain. I always support whoever they send, because they speak my language.
By the way, while I was preparing this post, I found out that the current Spanish government, which is progressive and left-wing, has decided not to participate in the next edition of Eurovision in protest against Israel. What a load of crap.
This miniseries focuses on telling us the story of the first time Spain won that festival, when it was still under Franco's dictatorial regime. Apparently, the dictator's wife was a big fan of Eurovision, so Franco wanted Spain to win, and when a dictator says what he wants, all the lackeys around him focus on fulfilling his wishes.
The good thing about the miniseries is that it turns the whole journey into a very entertaining story. The creators already have a track record in television, although they have mainly made dramas and thrillers. Here, they strike a good balance between drama and humor. The characters in the story had to do everything they could to please the dictator and ensure that Spain at least finished in the top spots. If they didn't win, they would have to figure out how to explain it to the big boss, which leads to entertaining situations.

It's not very long; you can watch it in a single day, as it only has three episodes. That makes it easier to watch. I think most people prefer short, fast-paced stories. Plus, by telling the story in three episodes, unnecessary details are avoided.
The setting works well; I think it adds texture to the video, giving it an image that transports us back in time. Being based on real events, it tackles political issues, with young revolutionaries opposing the dictatorship and references to ETA terrorists. Those were turbulent times, because Franco's death was only six years away. It also shows everything that happened with Juan Manuel Serrat, who was supposed to go to Eurovision. Everything was ready, but due to issues of Catalan nationalism and all that internal political turmoil, just a couple of weeks before the contest, they had to find another singer, settling on Massiel, who had the difficult task of participating and trying to win, even though the British were the favorites.
I had a lot of fun watching the two characters in charge of that task jump through hoops and then everything getting worse. I really liked Patrick Criado's performance as Esteban Guerra, the main character, who is fictional. His facial expressions and the posture he gave his character even made him look older. It would have been easy to fall into caricature, but he did a solid job. Actor Àlex Brendemühl is another one I liked quite a bit. He plays a real character, television producer and director Artur Kaps. And, of course, Carolina Yuste is fabulous as Massiel; it's hard not to hum along to the song in her scene at the contest.
You don't have to be a Eurovision fan to enjoy this story, which is accessible to everyone and very entertaining. Get ready to laugh and sing along when you watch it. I hope you'll let me know what you think in the comments.

- Movie · on Train Dreams100Train Dreams | Film Review
Deep down, she knows it, even if she doesn't know it, she already knows it.

Edited in Photoshop & Canva App
There are stories that are so beautiful and simple. They are the ones that move me deeply. From beginning to end, I wasn't distracted or did I get up from my seat. This is something difficult to do nowadays, with so many distractions around when you watch a movie at home. It was impossible not to be enchanted by what I was watching. Train Dreams is one of those movies that moves me.
I'll be frank, even though movies aspiring to be nominated for Golden Globes and Oscars will be released in the coming weeks. For me, this movie is, at this moment, my favorite for the upcoming awards season. Screw Anderson and his propaganda movie. Screw Kathryn Bigelow too, with her House of Dynamite and her worried faces. Not even Ari Aster with his social satire Eddington. Train Dreams is a worthwhile and moving film.
Perhaps you've asked yourself this question one day: Is my life worth telling? And perhaps you've thought no, that your life isn't interesting enough to turn into a story. Perhaps you are wrong, because behind the simplest things lie real stories that fill the soul. Because life is a constant battle and many of us seek meaning in everything.
The film focuses on the life of the character Robert Grainier, who has not had an easy life since childhood. A man of few words, he finds his soul mate, the love of his life, Gladys. Together they start a family, build their house by the river, and he has to spend a lot of time away because he works cutting down trees for the railroad companies. A simple, uncomplicated life. Like many, he is a man who seeks to provide for his family.

I don't understand why the film hasn't been promoted more. The director has done a great job adapting a novel by American writer Denis Johnson. The filmmaker's work is sublime. He has made a beautiful film, not only visually, credit for which must also go to the director of photography. I haven't had time to find out who was responsible for the photography, but their work is fantastic.
I can't say more about the plot, because it would reveal important moments. I want you to enjoy the film as it should be enjoyed and to feel it. I was moved and captivated by its beauty, but it also had a profound impact on me, breaking me down once again with its story. It's impossible not to feel anything, and I'm not an insensitive person, quite the contrary. When stories deal with such close-to-home issues, it's impossible not to feel the pain.
I should add that the cast is perfect. It's a film made to win awards. Joel Edgerton plays Robert. His character may not talk much, but his expressive restraint suits him perfectly. An excellent actor who deserves to be on the list of nominees.
Another character who stands out is Arn Peeples, another lumberjack, played by William H. Macy. His character has some lines and moments that make you think. Felicity Jones plays Gladys, Robert's wife, his rock, his support, the woman who chose him to start a family. She is an actress who always delivers and stands out, and this is no exception.
I have nothing more to add, except that you should watch it, it's worth it. It's on Netflix, and I hope it will be considered for next year's big awards. I'll read your comments.
Joel Edgerton interpreta a Robert.
