Bueno como les dije el otro día una vez a la semana estoy viendo pelis con mi hijo de las que el elige, se pone a ver alguna noticia por allí y me dice vamos a ver tal peli que es muy buena y la verdad ha dado buena selección, en esto vimos A Bronx Tale yo no me imagninaba que fuera así y resultó ser mucho mejor de lo que esperaba, a veces uno tiene expectativas raras cuando se trata de estos temas de mafia y barrios italianos pero esta cosa me sorprendió bastante bien desde el principio hasta el final y eso que ya he visto un montón de películas del género. Esta peli es algo vieja de hecho Robert De Niro hizo su debut como director y Chazz Palminteri escribió el guion, estos dos tipos sabían de lo que estaban hablando cuando pusieron todo esto junto y se nota en cada escena porque no se siente forzado ni falso en ningún momento. La historia toma lugar en el Bronx durante los años 60 y sigue la vida de Calogero un muchacho que queda atrapado entre dos mundos completamente diferentes, por un lado esta su padre Lorenzo que es un chofer de autobús honesto trabajador que se rompe el lomo todos los días para mantener a su familia y por el otro lado esta Sonny el líder de la mafia del barrio que es carismatico poderoso y controla todo lo que pasa en esas calles del Bronx, Calogero quien después lo llaman simplemente C queda fascinado con Sonny desde que es un niño de 9 años y lo ve matar a un tipo por un espacio de estacionamiento justo enfrente de su edificio y la policía lo usa de testigo pero el decide no delatar a Sonny, eso crea un lazo entre estos dos que dura años y cambia completamente la vida de C.

La peli maneja muy bien el tema de las figuras paternas porque Calogero tiene dos figuras completamente diferentes enseñandole cosas sobre la vida y como vivir, Lorenzo su papa biológico le enseña sobre el trabajo duro la honestidad y mantenerse alejado de los problemas mientras que Sonny le enseña sobre el respeto el miedo y como funcionan las calles de verdad en el mundo real cuando no hay nadie cuidandote la espalda. Ambos tipos aman al chico a su manera y ambos quieren lo mejor para el pero tienen visiones diferentes de lo que significa ser un hombre y tener éxito en la vida, Lorenzo le dice que el hombre trabajador es el hombre duro porque se necesita más fuerza para levantarse todos los días y salir a trabajar y Sonny le enseña cosas que su papá nunca podria enseñarle sobre como leer a la gente como protegerse y como navegar un mundo que no siempre es justo ni honesto. La actuacion de Chazz Palminteri como Sonny es brutal el tipo le da una presencia al personaje que no ves en muchas peliculas de mafia donde normalmente los jefes son o locos violentos o frios y calculadores sin personalidad pero Sonny tiene algo diferente tiene ese carisma ese estilo esa forma de caminar y hablar.

Robert De Niro como Lorenzo también hace un trabajo increíble y es interesante verlo en un papel tan diferente a los que hace en películas de mafia, aqui no es el gangster ni el tipo duro con pistola es solo un papá tratando de hacer lo correcto para mantener a su hijo alejado de la vida que el sabe que solo trae problemas. La tensión entre Lorenzo y Sonny se siente en toda la peli, hay una parte donde Lorenzo va al bar a devolver el dinero que Sonny le dio a C y le dice que se aleje de su hijo, Sonny no se enoja no grita simplemente le dice que respeta a Lorenzo pero que nunca más le hable así y ahi ves el choque de estos dos hombres que nunca podran entenderse. La película también tiene unos temas raciales de una forma que era super relevante en los años 60, C se enamora de una chica afroamericana llamada Jane y en su barrio eso esta completamente prohibido sus amigos son racistas violentos y estúpidos, aunque C ve mas alla de eso porque Sonny le enseño que lo unico que importa es como te sientes tu con la otra persona y que el resto del mundo puede irse al carajo.

El final de la película es trsite pero perfecto al mismo tiempo porque Sonny muere asesinado en su propio bar por el hijo del hombre que el mato al principio de la película, es ese tipo de justicia o karma donde la violencia te alcanza no importa que tan poderoso seas o cuantos hombres tengas cuidándote la espalda. C esta ahí cuando pasa y ve morir a Sonny justo cuando iba a contarle que Jane había pasado la prueba que Sonny le habia enseñado donde si la chica no te abre la puerta del carro despues de que tu le abres la suya entonces es una egoista y debes terminar con ella, C estaba emocionado de contarle eso a Sonny y de agradecerle por salvarle la vida de decirle todo lo que nunca tuvo chance de decir pero ya era muy tarde. En el funeral Lorenzo aparece y le dice a Sonny que nunca lo odió que solo estaba enojado porque hizo que su hijo creciera demasiado rápido y eso me pareció bien fuerte porque muestra que ambos querían lo mismo para C solo que tenían formas muy diferentes de mostrarlo, la pelicula termina con C reflexionando sobre todo lo que aprendió de estos dos hombres tan diferentes y como ambos le enseñaron lecciones valiosas sobre el amor, el respeto el trabajo duro y las decisiones que tomas en la vida porque esas decisiones son las que te definen para siempre y no hay forma de regresar el tiempo una vez que las haces.

Ypo creo que esta peli es tan buena porque es super autentica, De Niro decidió no usar actores profesionales para la mayoría de los papeles secundarios y en su lugar uso gente real del barrio gente que había vivido esa vida y que sabían como hablar y ser ellos mismos enfrente de una cámara y eso le da a la película una vibra como de documental donde parece que estás viendo algo real y no una actuación fabricada en Hollywood. En la parte visual se muestra muy bien el Bronx de los años 60 de una forma que puede darle nostalgia a algunos pero también cruda mostrando tanto la belleza de la comunidad italiana como la pobreza y violencia que existía ahí. Creo que si tuviera que ponerle algún pero a la peli sería que algunas partes pasan muy rápido como esa relación entre C y Jane que a mi parecer se dio fugaz y casi que los mejores amigos y se vieron dos veces jajaja, pero la verdad digo esto es buscándole las cinco patas al gato porque es un problema menor ya que esta peli hace tantas cosas bien y te mantiene enganchado, sin momentos aburridos ni relleno innecesario, cada escena te dice algo sobre los personajes o sobre el mundo en el que viven y eso es algo que yo aprecio, en vez de que me metan vainas para llenar tiempo nada más.

Para mí A Bronx Tale es una de esas películas que se queda después de que termina, porque toca temas que le llegan a todo el mundo sobre la familia, la lealtad, las decisiones y algo que también es interesante y es esa forma como el ambiente en el que creces puede moldearte pero no tiene que definirte, y menos si eres fuerte para tomar tus propias decisiones y seguir tu propio camino. Es una historia sobre crecer y perder la inocencia, sirve para entender que el mundo no es blanco y negro y que a veces las personas malas pueden enseñarte cosas buenas y las personas buenas pueden estar equivocadas en algunas cosas. La direccion de De Niro es buenisima y muestra que entendía perfectamente la visión que Palminteri tenía para esta historia y como llevarla a la pantalla de la forma mas efectiva posible, el chamito que hace a C de joven es perfecto porque realmente parece que podria crecer y convertirse en Lillo Brancato quien hace a C de adolecente y esa continuidad visual ayuda mucho a que creas en el personaje y en su viaje a traves de los años. Yo le doy a esta peli 8/10 porque logra lo que se propone contar una historia honesta sobre la vida en el Bronx, sobre la mafia y las relaciones entre padres e hijos y sobre como las decisiones que tomas cuando eres joven pueden afectar el resto de tu vida para bien o para mal, es una película que cualquier fan de historias de mafia o dramas debería ver porque tiene algo especial que otras de este género no logran mostrar de la misma forma.

Well like I told you the other day once a week I'm watching movies with my son from the ones he picks, he starts looking at some news around there and tells me let's watch this movie that's really good and honestly he's had good selections, in this we watched A Bronx Tale I didn't imagine it would be like that and it turned out to be way better than I expected, sometimes you have weird expectations when it comes to these mafia and Italian neighborhood topics but this thing surprised me pretty well from beginning to end and I've already seen a ton of movies in the genre. This movie is kind of old in fact Robert De Niro made his debut as a director and Chazz Palminteri wrote the script, these two guys knew what they were talking about when they put all this together and you can tell in every scene because it doesn't feel forced or fake at any moment. The story takes place in the Bronx during the 60s and follows the life of Calogero a kid who gets caught between two completely different worlds, on one side there's his father Lorenzo who's an honest hardworking bus driver who breaks his back every day to support his family and on the other side there's Sonny the neighborhood mafia leader who's charismatic powerful and controls everything that happens on those Bronx streets, Calogero who later they just call C gets fascinated with Sonny since he's a 9 year old kid and sees him kill a guy over a parking space right in front of his building and the police use him as a witness but he decides not to snitch on Sonny, that creates a bond between these two that lasts years and completely changes C's life.

The movie handles the father figure theme really well because Calogero has two completely different figures teaching him things about life and how to live, Lorenzo his biological dad teaches him about hard work honesty and staying away from trouble while Sonny teaches him about respect fear and how the streets really work in the real world when there's nobody watching your back. Both guys love the kid in their own way and both want the best for him but they have different visions of what it means to be a man and succeed in life, Lorenzo tells him the working man is the tough man because it takes more strength to get up every day and go to work and Sonny teaches him things his dad could never teach him about how to read people how to protect yourself and how to navigate a world that isn't always fair or honest. Chazz Palminteri's performance as Sonny is brutal the guy gives the character a presence you don't see in many mafia movies where normally the bosses are either crazy violent or cold and calculated without personality but Sonny has something different he has that charisma that style that way of walking and talking.

Robert De Niro as Lorenzo also does an incredible job and it's interesting to see him in such a different role from the ones he does in mafia movies, here he's not the gangster or the tough guy with a gun he's just a dad trying to do the right thing to keep his son away from the life he knows only brings problems. The tension between Lorenzo and Sonny is felt throughout the whole movie, there's a part where Lorenzo goes to the bar to return the money Sonny gave C and tells him to stay away from his son, Sonny doesn't get angry doesn't yell he just tells him he respects Lorenzo but to never talk to him like that again and there you see the clash of these two men who can never understand each other. The movie also has some racial themes in a way that was super relevant in the 60s, C falls in love with an African American girl named Jane and in his neighborhood that's completely forbidden his friends are racist violent and stupid, although C sees beyond that because Sonny taught him that the only thing that matters is how you feel with the other person and that the rest of the world can go to hell.

The movie's ending is sad but perfect at the same time because Sonny dies murdered in his own bar by the son of the man he killed at the beginning of the movie, it's that kind of justice or karma where violence catches up with you no matter how powerful you are or how many men you have watching your back. C is there when it happens and sees Sonny die just when he was going to tell him that Jane had passed the test Sonny had taught him where if the girl doesn't open the car door for you after you open hers then she's selfish and you should break up with her, C was excited to tell Sonny that and to thank him for saving his life to tell him everything he never had a chance to say but it was too late. At the funeral Lorenzo shows up and tells Sonny he never hated him that he was just angry because he made his son grow up too fast and that seemed really strong to me because it shows that both wanted the same thing for C they just had very different ways of showing it, the movie ends with C reflecting on everything he learned from these two such different men and how both taught him valuable lessons about love, respect hard work and the decisions you make in life because those decisions are what define you forever and there's no way to turn back time once you make them.

I think this movie is so good because it's super authentic, De Niro decided not to use professional actors for most of the secondary roles and instead used real people from the neighborhood people who had lived that life and who knew how to talk and be themselves in front of a camera and that gives the movie a documentary-like vibe where it seems like you're watching something real and not a fabricated Hollywood performance. Visually it shows the Bronx of the 60s really well in a way that can give some people nostalgia but also raw showing both the beauty of the Italian community and the poverty and violence that existed there. I think if I had to find any fault with the movie it would be that some parts go by too fast like that relationship between C and Jane that in my opinion happened fleeting and almost like they were best friends and they saw each other twice hahaha, but honestly I'm saying this looking for problems because it's a minor issue since this movie does so many things right and keeps you hooked, no boring moments or unnecessary filler, every scene tells you something about the characters or about the world they live in and that's something I appreciate, instead of them putting stuff in just to fill time.

For me A Bronx Tale is one of those movies that stays with you after it ends, because it touches themes that reach everyone about family, loyalty, decisions and something that's also interesting and that's that way how the environment you grow up in can shape you but doesn't have to define you, and less so if you're strong enough to make your own decisions and follow your own path. It's a story about growing up and losing innocence, it helps you understand that the world isn't black and white and that sometimes bad people can teach you good things and good people can be wrong about some things. De Niro's direction is really good and shows he perfectly understood the vision Palminteri had for this story and how to bring it to the screen in the most effective way possible, the kid who plays young C is perfect because he really looks like he could grow up and become Lillo Brancato who plays teenage C and that visual continuity helps a lot to make you believe in the character and in his journey through the years. I give this movie 8/10 because it accomplishes what it sets out to do tell an honest story about life in the Bronx, about the mafia and relationships between fathers and sons and about how the decisions you make when you're young can affect the rest of your life for better or worse, it's a movie any fan of mafia stories or dramas should watch because it has something special that others in this genre don't manage to show in the same way.

Genocide simmers on television screens, invasions shred international law, bombings pulverise civilian infrastructure with chilling regularity, crippling economic sanctions weaponise scarcity, and assassinations are increasingly viewed as the cheapest, most expedient tools for resolving intractable economic, political, and cultural disputes. The true tragedy lies in who champions this descent: the very individuals ostensibly dedicated to peaceful resolution. Top diplomats, whose profession is the art of negotiation, and politicians elected on soaring promises of bringing world peace, now often lead the charge towards confrontation. In this bleak landscape, Gene Roddenberry’s foundational utopian vision – a future where humanity has transcended scarcity, prejudice, and war – feels not merely optimistic, but impossibly distant, a fading star in a darkening sky. Consequently, episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation like the second-season offering Loud as a Whisper, with its profound exploration of the fragile, essential machinery of diplomacy, resonate with a startling, almost painful relevance utterly absent during its 1989 premiere, poised as the world was on the hopeful cusp of the Cold War’s end. Roddenberry’s dream now seems less like prophecy and more like a desperate plea, making this particular meditation on communication’s power feel urgently contemporary.

The episode’s plot thrusts the USS Enterprise into the heart of such a plea. Captain Picard’s vessel is dispatched to the war-torn planet Solais V, home to the humanoid Solari. For a millennium and a half, this civilisation has been consumed by a fratricidal conflict so ancient its original cause has been utterly forgotten. Exhausted, ravaged, and teetering on the brink of mutual annihilation, the warring factions have somehow brokered a fragile, temporary cessation of hostilities. To transform it into a lasting peace, a permanent treaty must be negotiated, requiring the mediation of Riva – a legendary diplomat whose previous triumphs include the complex treaty between the Klingon Empire and the Federation. The Enterprise’s initial mission seems straightforward: collect Riva from his homeworld, Ramatis III, and deliver him to Solais V. Yet, upon arrival, the crew encounters a profound surprise. Riva, this paragon of interstellar diplomacy, is profoundly deaf. His communication with the outside world is facilitated by a unique "chorus" – three specially trained assistants (portrayed by Marnie Mosiman, Thomas Oglesby, and Leo Damian), each seemingly embodying a different facet of his personality and intellect. Despite initial cultural and communicative awkwardness, Riva adapts remarkably to life aboard the starship, forming an especially deep and intuitive bond with Counselor Deanna Troi, whose empathic abilities allow her to perceive the emotional currents beneath his silent expressions.

The mission on Solais V, however, swiftly descends into catastrophe. A hardliner from one faction, determined to scuttle the fragile peace, attempts to assassinate Riva. The attack tragically succeeds only in murdering his three chorus members, shattering the symbiotic unit through which Riva engaged with the world. Devastated and believing his diplomatic purpose utterly destroyed without his interpreters, Riva wishes to abandon the mission. Picard, however, recognises the deeper stakes and insists Riva must find another way. Lieutenant Commander Data, leveraging his android precision, successfully deciphers Riva’s sign language, becoming a literal conduit for his words. Yet, Data’s brilliance proves insufficient; he lacks the nuanced understanding of human emotion, subtext, and unspoken cultural weight that the chorus instinctively provided. The breakthrough arrives not through technological substitution, but through radical adaptation. Recognising the futility of expecting Riva to suddenly acquire speech via gadgets, the solution emerges from embracing his deafness. Riva remains on Solais V, not as a traditional negotiator, but as a teacher. He instructs both warring factions in his sign language. In the shared, physical act of learning this new mode of communication – demanding patience, observation, and mutual understanding – the Solari discover a common humanity previously obscured by generations of hatred. The language itself becomes the peace treaty, forging connection where words alone had failed for millennia.

Loud as a Whisper enjoys a generally positive standing among Trek fandom, yet it rarely features on lists of the series’ most iconic or memorable hours. This relative obscurity might stem from its initial reception as a well-intentioned, perhaps slightly gimmicky, vehicle. The inclusion of a profoundly deaf central character, played by the authentically deaf actor Howie Seago, was groundbreaking for 1980s network television, offering a rare platform. However, Seago transcends any potential tokenism. His performance is masterful, conveying immense depth, vulnerability, and authority primarily through expressive eyes and hands. His scenes with Marina Sirtis as Troi are particularly potent, showcasing the actress’s underrated skill in conveying complex emotional resonance without excessive dialogue. Crucially, Seago was not merely a performer; he actively shaped the narrative. Drawing on his lived experience, he advocated against the original script’s resolution involving Riva gaining speech through technology, arguing it undermined Deaf culture. His suggestion for the ending – Riva teaching sign language as the path to peace – was adopted, transforming the episode from a potential curiosity into a powerful, authentic statement on communication beyond auditory speech.

The concept of the chorus itself is fascinating, rich with potential. Each member subtly embodies aspects reminiscent of Sigmund Freud’s structural model of the psyche: the Id (raw emotion, impulse), the Ego (mediation, reality principle), and the Superego (moral compass, ideals). This internal triad made Riva’s external communication a profound reflection of integrated selfhood. Tragically, this depth is largely unexplored before the chorus is sacrificed in a plot twist that, while undeniably shocking for its graphic depiction of their deaths (a rarity for TNG at the time), feels narratively predictable and, ultimately, a waste of a brilliant conceptual foundation. The episode also benefits from solid craftsmanship. Veteran television director Larry Shaw (in his sole Star Trek outing) delivers efficient pacing within the constraints, making effective use of the production design, atmospheric matte paintings for Solais V’s war-torn vistas, and a characteristically strong, emotive score from Ron Jones.

Nevertheless, significant flaws mar the episode’s impact. The pacing is notably uneven. Excessive time is devoted to the initial setup of Riva’s arrival and adaptation aboard the Enterprise, while the crucial resolution on Solais V – the actual teaching of the sign language and the dawning realisation of peace – feels rushed and underdeveloped. Compounding this, the script awkwardly inserts a subplot concerning Geordi La Forge receiving an offer from Dr. Pulaski for experimental surgery to restore his natural vision. While Geordi’s ocular implants and potential sight would become recurring elements later, here the subplot feels entirely extraneous. It serves no meaningful purpose within this narrative, adding nothing to the central theme of communication and diplomacy. It functions purely as inefficient filler, padding runtime without thematic resonance, and its inclusion feels transparently convenient rather than organically integrated.

Ultimately, Loud as a Whisper deserves recognition not as a Trek episode that courageously, if imperfectly, grapples with a concept of paramount urgency. Its exploration of non-verbal communication, the vulnerability inherent in true dialogue, and the sheer, grinding difficulty of building peace amidst entrenched hatred remains compelling. More importantly, in our current historical moment – where the cynical dismissal of diplomacy as "weak" or "inefficient" has become dangerously mainstream, and brute force is hailed as the only viable tool – the episode transcends its era. Diplomacy is slow. It is frustratingly inefficient compared to the swift, brutal finality of violence. It requires immense patience, profound empathy, and the willingness to find connection in unexpected places, even through shared silence. Yet, as Riva’s unconventional solution on Solais V demonstrates, it is ultimately the only path that avoids mutual annihilation and builds something enduring. In a world seemingly hell-bent on shouting its way to destruction, the quiet, persistent power of understanding – however hard-won – remains humanity’s sole, indispensable hope. Roddenberry’s vision may feel distant, but Loud as a Whisper insists the tools for building it, however unconventional, are always within our grasp, if only we choose to use them.

Emilia Pardo-Figueroa es una joven modista de clase media que se hace cargo de su abuela, Doña Leonor, y de sus hermanos menores, Nereida y Vicente (“Chente”), luego de que su familia pierde su fortuna.

From the very beginning, you can tell it’s not going to be your regular action-thriller. It’s gritty, tense, and messy in the most human way possible — the kind of story where everyone has a mask on, and every handshake hides a knife.

It opens in this chilly, stressful climate where there is no line between the good and the bad anymore. The plot is based on the lives of a bunch of individuals who are all losing something and hiding something. It is like everybody is playing a game, yet, in this game, rules do not matter, and clean hands do not exist. The protagonist- Michael is a type of a man who has witnessed too much. He has that jaded appearance of a soldier, now a man of hire, that life has already stolen away the best in him. He is recruited into a one-time mission, the type where a man is offered, redemption and cash but in your heart, you know that nothing will turn out all right.

You can experience the tension immediately the first time you see him interact with his new team. They do not trust him and to be quite frank, he does not trust them either. It is a corporation of men made of lies and greed. The entire work, which is supposed to be a clean job, begins to get dark very quickly. It is very simple: rob an enormous fuel train in the desert, in the time of war. However, nothing works out well in this film. Not the people nor the mission nor even the desert itself which is like a cruel personality, devouring the sanity of all with every minute.

There’s this one scene I can’t forget — when the group stops for a break, and one of the men starts questioning Michael’s loyalty. The air is thick, dry, filled with unspoken threats. Michael doesn’t answer right away. He just looks at the man, his hand twitching near his gun, but instead of violence, he gives this cold half-smile and says, “You only doubt the people you wish you could be.” That line hit hard. Because it’s not just about him — it’s about everyone in that camp. Each one pretending they’ve got control when, really, they’re all terrified of being the one betrayed next.

The film does not reserve the anarchy either. It happens that the whole situation goes to hell, the ambush of the convoy becomes bloody, the soldiers betray each other, and the sandstorm strikes suddenly, devouring the desert in this blind fury of wind and dust. You can hardly see what is going on, but you sense it, the disorientation, the terror, the desperation. It is almost suffocating, as the camera work makes you think that you are in the middle of it, gasping.

And the aftermath is always there. The survivors emerge, crippled and empty. Your eyes open to the reality of these people once the dust has settled, who is a human, who is a monster, who is pretending. Michael is more silent, cold. The burden of guilt is clearly visible on him, though he does not agree. The mission is rendered meaningless. It is no longer about stealing but survival.

It is revealed later on that the whole experiment was a set up. The individuals who had sent them there, had not anticipated that they would ever return. They were chess pieces, expendable instruments in a game of someone. It gives you that revelation... man. It is not only betrayal but it is the understanding that their pain, their deaths were not even worth anything to the people who are in power. They were mere names on paper and ghosts even before they died.

The finale still sounds in my ears occasionally. Michael, with his bleeding and barely alive dragging through the desert. One can hear the sound of wind and gunfire dying in the distance, and this strange silence as he falls on the wreckage. He laughs, briefly, that feeble, emaciated laugh, which tells him, I had guessed this. And there he simply lies up gazing at the vast desert sky. There was no music, no glory, nothing but silence.

Si me dijeron que la franquicia de Alien iba a tener serie de televisión la verdad es que no lo hubiera creído en un principio, ya que no podría imaginar como en ocho episodios puedes contar una historia únicamente de un alien en especial con lo que esta franquicia es es un monstruo hay películas si es verdad de alguien que ha sido mucho más filosóficas y profundas pero no es hacer la película de un monstruo, Pero bueno esta serie lo consigue y A mi parecer de manera magistral porque puedo decir que es una de las mejores cosas que ha salido del universo de Alien porque no solamente toca el monstruo toca otras nuevas especies alienígenas toca la parte lo que tiene que ver con los sintéticos los androides la vida lo que ésta significa qué significa ser humano como tal incluso un pequeño spoiler un alien se llega a liar con estos seres sintéticos.

Not only does it deal with the monster, it also deals with other new alien species, it deals with the part that has to do with synthetics, androids, life, what it means to be human, and even a little spoiler: an alien gets involved with these synthetic beings.

Con seres sintéticos es que si bien esta franquicia han salido bastantes pero bastantes de ellos en este caso es algo diferente porque son niños con enfermedades terminales que están a punto de morir Y de alguna manera consiguen trasladar sus memorias su mente a un sintético y esto si bien pudiera parecer increíble y un enorme proeza la verdad es que tiene intenciones bastante oscuras y darle todo ese poder de fuerza que significa a un niño la verdad es que termina teniendo repercusiones muy fuertes en la película de hecho se utiliza mucho la historia de Peter pan para contar la historia de hecho los mismos niños les cambian el nombre con cada uno de los personajes del libro.

Con esto quiero decir que el guión es uno de los puntos más fuertes la parte filosófica y existencialista está muy marcada en esta serie pero a partes iguales tenemos momentos súper violentos en la franquicia bastante explícitos creo que en esta serie vemos una de las masacres más intensas que uno los alguien ha podido hacer al menos de manera explícita y la verdad es que consigue hacerlo de forma magistral si es verdad que al final de temporada te puede dejar bastante picado pero la verdad es que tiene mucho terreno que explorar porque entre la primera y segunda película hay un hueco bastante grande que llenar incluso más te voy a decir que pueden sacar hasta cinco temporadas si quisieran, Y es que sí a pesar de que esta temporada tiene una especie de cierre la verdad es que sí te deja con ganas de ver una segunda temporada incluso la mayor ventaja que tiene estas series que si no sabes nada del universo de alguien esta serie puede ser una buena puerta de entrada para entender este universo y además darle una oportunidad después a ver las películas.

I came across this movie on Netflix sometime ago and kept skipping to watch it because, from the title Inventing Anna, I thought maybe it would be a movie that has to do with maybe a robot, so I wasn't really interested, but after going through different movies I wanted to watch on Monday and couldn't find anything I wanted, so I decided to settle for it after reading the summary on Netflix.

About The Movie Inventing Anna is a Netflix series with 9 episodes. The movie is based on the true-life story of Anna Sorokin, a Russian-born con artist who pretended to be a wealthy German heiress named Anna Delvey when she went to New York, although there were some modifications in the series.

Anna had this charm and charisma that made everyone around her like her. Anna lived an expensive lifestyle, dressing in an expensive way. She was living the dream life of a lot of young people and adults in her early twenties, moving from one 5-star hotel to another, traveling to different locations for vacation, and having connections with the elite.

Her lifestyle made a lot of people believe her, so it was easy for her to defraud and manipulate and scam many of New York's elite out of their thousands of dollars.

There was also Vivian Kent, a journalist who was so obsessed with the Anna story that she would do anything just to uncover the truth behind Anna's fake identity. Vivian Kent and some of her colleagues that were helping to dig deep into the story were surprised by the many lies Anna had told and how deceitful she was.

My Review I must say that the series for me is very interesting; the actress Julia Garner, who played Anna Delvey, really did a great job. The way she kept her face and her accent was really captivating for me.After watching this series, I went online to read more about Anna's real life, and I was shocked by some reviews I saw.

A lot of people were criticizing the movie; they said it wasn't consistent. I like how Anna is. I was captivated by her brilliance, and I wished she used her brain to do something really good that she would be remembered for instead of defrauding people. For a young lady her age to be able to ingratiate herself into the lives of New York elites, then I must say that she's really smart and a genius. It's just so sad she channeled it into a wrong place.Such a brain should be doing great things and impacting lives positively.

Vivian Kent, the journalist, also made the movie interesting with how determined she was to crack everything about Anna.I know the series has been criticized by a lot of people, mostly people that felt like Anna was being portrayed as a sympathetic figure, but even at that, I still enjoyed every bit of it, with its different twists and turns that kept me glued to my screen.

I would recommend this if only you are interested in true crime stories; trust me, "Inventing Anna" is worth watching. And i would rate it a 4/5

"I'm a guy who is smart but with a procrastination problem as I'm always seeing all the potential things that can go wrong while I'm super stuck inside my Comfort bubble which gives me an enjoyable and carefree, but not always to most fulfilling life. I want to get a motivational boost by watching a movie, can you recommend me one.

In its Reply there were 5 Recommendations of which 3 I already watched and loved. So it was a no brainer to watch one I had not seen yet which happened to be Good Will Hunting.

Good Will Hunting (9.2/10)

This movie is directed by Gus Van Sant who I never really heard of and it can be seen as a one hit wonder as his 2nd best movie is Milk (2007) which I barely knew existed.

The movie is about a young guy who is extremely talented and smart, but because his home childhood situation is an underachiever with a low paid job mostly hanging out with his friends who don't really have the capacity to do better. He works as a cleaner in a university and one day solves one of the equasions a professor put on a whiteboard for his students. He gets in a situation afterward where he gets in a fight (again) and is set for some prison time. The Professor who put up the equasion finds out he solved it and takes him under his wings as he sees his potential to avoid jailtime. This deal also involves him seeing a Psychologist which is played by Robin Williams.

I absolutely loved this movie because it was more or less about me at the core of it and there were multiple scenes with lines that perfectly described this in a way I had not heard yet.

Super Philosophy This scene about the Super Philosophy concept kind of woke me up and I have quite some of those myself. Basically it's a theory that justifies never having to do anything. I also really liked how Will Hunting turned this around back at the face of the psychologist at the end.

Sitting On A Winning Lottery Ticket This is another one that perfectly described how I'm kind of feeling in words that were very motivation and will stick with me forever.

I also loved seeing Robin Williams delivering an acting masterclass reminding me how good he actually was. The music by Elliot Smith also was excellent bringing solgs I never heard but wanted in my list instantly so I looked them up. Say Yes and Between The Bars were 2 songs that stood out for me which were perfect for the scenes.

Conclusion This is one of those movies that for me personally was one that deserves to be in my top 10 movies ever watched and I do plan on rewatching it again at times when I need some strong motivational drive. More so, I can say that this movie is potentially life changing but that needs to be seen though. For that, I score it a very high 9.2/10 with still potential to grow. Absolutely loved this one!
