Warm greetings, friends of the seventh art!!! Continuing my review series "Ten Films That Shook the World," today I present the eighth installment. I'm delighted to be able to share with you here on #hive a bit of my professional journey as an intellectual over the years.

Saludos cordiales, amigos del séptimo arte!!! Siguiendo con mi saga de reseñas "Diez películas que estremecieron al mundo", hoy les propongo la octava entrega. Gozozo de poder compartirles aquí en #hive un poco de mi recorrido profesional en intelectual a lo largo de estos años.

Thanks to my playwriting teacher in Santiago de Cuba, Marcia Castellanos, and to Mario Puzo, I became the writer and screenwriter I am. They were my first teachers. From them, I learned the art of storytelling. From them, I understood that a story, when told well, can change you. "The Godfather" was the model. I'm not just referring to the film, which is a monument. I'm talking about the novel that spawned it.

Gracias a mi profesora de dramaturgia en Santiago de Cuba, Marcia Castellanos; y a Mario Puzo, me convertí en el escritor y guionista que soy. Ellos fueron mis primeros maestros. De ellos aprendí el arte de la narración. De ellos entendí que una historia, bien contada, puede cambiarte. "El Padrino" ese fue el modelo. No me refiero solo a la película, que es un monumento. Hablo de la novela que la engendró.

INTRODUCTION/INTRODUCCIÓN

For me, it goes beyond a classic. It's a life lesson, a masterclass in cinema. It's living proof of a thesis I firmly hold: a good novel can produce memorable films. Puzo's work, in Coppola's hands, transcended. He created an immortal piece of art. He changed the language of cinema. He changed me, and many others. He's a pillar. An inescapable reference. His impact is still present. My relationship with "The Godfather" is intimate. I remember reading Puzo's novel. I immersed myself in that world. Then I saw the film. It was a revelation. I understood how an adaptation should work. How to honor the original material. How to give it new life. It was a profound study. A practical manual for the screenwriter. It showed me the way. The ability to tell a complex story, to build real characters, to explore universal themes. Its influence on my own work is undeniable. It's my personal bible. A constant beacon.

The story of "The Godfather" is simple on the surface. It's the saga of the Corleone family. An Italian criminal dynasty in New York. It's led by Vito Corleone, the "Don." A man of ironclad principles, in his own way. The film begins with the wedding of his daughter Connie. This event serves as a framework. It introduces us to the world of the "family." A world of favors, loyalties, and hidden violence. The tranquility is shattered. A drug trafficker, Sollozzo, seeks Don Vito's protection. He refuses to enter the drug business. This triggers a war. A brutal power struggle. Vito is attacked. His life hangs in the balance. His sons must react. Sonny, the eldest, is impulsive. Fredo is weak. Tom Hagen, the lawyer, is loyal but not blood-related. It is then that Michael, the youngest son, the "American," must intervene. He returns from the war. He wants a normal life, removed from family affairs. But destiny calls. Events sweep him away. He takes the reins of the family. He becomes the new Don. A colder, more calculating leader than his father. His transformation is the heart of the story. It's the fall of a hero. For dramatic cinema. It's a work that must be seen. That must be studied. That must be felt. It's a monumental achievement. A testament to the power of a great story. And to the genius of those who knew how to tell it. On the page. And on the screen. And for that, this film is part of my "10 Films of the World" list. I will always be grateful to Marcia Castellanos and Mario Puzo.

So, I just finished the just released episode 8 of The Summer I Turned Pretty and I really do not know how to feel right now. Is anybody here also following the show? Someone should please say yes🥹 I made a post 2 days ago about the whole 'Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah' drama going on online and the way people have been too emotional, extending their hate for a character to the actor. However, we have all been anticipating this particular episode and that was the first thing I did with my time this morning.

There was so much uncertainty, and somehow, there still is. This post might contain spoilers so if you are a follower of the show and you haven't seen this episode, I would recommend you go watch and not read further. Yeah, byeee, its out, go watch it now.

As I said earlier in my previous post, I am Team Conrad--I have always been and I will always be. However, this episode was really heartbreaking for me, I almost cried. I almost started feeling bad for Jeremiah but the truth is that I do. I wanted Conrad and Belly together so bad, but I knew it would come at a great cost. The storyline is messy and annoying, breaking brotherly bond like that isn't fair. I feel bad for Belly too, she gaslit herself so much in the entire relationship. She definitely loved Jeremiah but not in the way she will always love Conrad.

This episode was especially very emotional because I worn torn between too many choices. There was what was meant to be, what it is exactly, and what Belly really wanted and wouldn't come in terms with. I would have added 'what was right' but that line has been blurry for a while now. Jeremiah cheated on Belly and Belly sacrificed so much in the relationship just to convince herself she loves him so much. Conrad confessing his love too few days to her wedding would have been totally wrong, if not that we all know he was so mad when he found out Jeremiah cheated on Belly. I dont think he would have said anything if that didnt come up.

I'm glad Jeremiah was honest with himself at the end of it all, for the sake of Belly and him. She was indeed marrying him to erase Conrad from her heart and that wouldn't be fair at all. She and Conrad would always be in love with each other and Jeremiah should not have messed with that in the first place. He wanted to win Belly so bad and look how chaotic that turned out. I know Team Jeremiah would crash out so bad after this episode and honestly, I would understand them so much. Above that, I would want them to be glad the wedding got called off, Belly was just lying to herself the whole time and Jeremiah deserved the whole truth from her.

I do hope there will be a happy ending for Jeremiah eventually, he literally has no one now. Not his brother, not Belly, not his dad that picks on him often. Not even his late mom because that letter wasn't even for him, damn. I do feel bad for Jeremiah, I really do. However, he needs to find himself without every other person. He needs to own and come in terms with his identity. Make something tangible out of his life. I hope he ends up happy at the end of it all.

Enough of that, what was that ending though? You mean I will have to wait a whole week to know what happens next?? Belly was on her way to Paris, right? She almost gave that up for Jeremiah, silly girl. I hope she doesn't give it up for Conrad either, I am certain he wouldn't even let her. I want everyone to go their separate ways, and then they gradually find their way back to each other. I want Conrad and Belly to not rush anything, and I do hope they understand each other better and communicate better. You guys are soulmates, act like it!😅

To be honest, I dont know what will happen eventually. Imagine Conrad, Jeremiah and Belly all together in a room after all these. The tension will be insane, let's see what Jenny Han cooks next. There are two episodes left but at least, evil is over for now. We all know that this show is about Conrad and Belly's love story, that's why we usually get the POV parts in either Belly's voice or Conrad's.

Also, does anyone see what is happening between Taylor and Stephen? I almost started liking Denise with Stephen but when she said she felt like she was kissing a plant, who am I to not keep shipping staylor😂😂. I hope these people just do better with there second chances, or third? I dont even know at this point😂😂. Very messy show😅😅

Acabo de terminar el episodio 8 de The Summer I Turned Pretty y realmente no sé cómo sentirme en este momento. Hay alguien aquí que también siga la serie? Alguien debería decir que sí🥹 Hice un post hace 2 días sobre todo el drama del “Equipo Conrad o Equipo Jeremiah” en línea y la forma en que la gente ha sido demasiado emocional, extendiendo su odio por un personaje al actor. Sin embargo, todos hemos estado anticipando este episodio en particular y eso fue lo primero que hice con mi tiempo esta mañana.

Había mucha incertidumbre, y de alguna manera, todavía la hay. Este post puede contener spoilers, así que si eres seguidor de la serie y no has visto este episodio, te recomiendo que vayas a verlo y no sigas leyendo. Sí, byeee, ya está, ve a verlo ahora.

Como ya dije en mi anterior post, soy del equipo Conrad, siempre lo he sido y siempre lo seré. Sin embargo, este episodio fue realmente desgarrador para mí, casi lloro. Casi empiezo a sentirme mal por Jeremiah pero la verdad es que sí. Quería tanto que Conrad y Belly estuvieran juntos, pero sabía que tendría un gran coste. El argumento es desordenado y molesto, romper lazos fraternales así no es justo. También me siento mal por Belly, se gaslitó tanto en toda la relación. Ella definitivamente amaba a Jeremiah, pero no de la manera en que siempre amará a Conrad.

Este episodio ha sido especialmente emotivo porque me he sentido dividida entre demasiadas opciones. Estaba lo que debía ser, lo que es exactamente, y lo que Belly realmente quería y no quería aceptar. Habría añadido «lo que era correcto», pero esa línea está borrosa desde hace tiempo. Para ser sincera, no sé qué pasará finalmente. Imaginaos a Conrad, Jeremiah y Belly juntos en una habitación después de todo esto. La tensión va a ser de locos, a ver qué es lo próximo que cocina Jenny Han. Quedan dos episodios pero al menos, se acabó el mal por ahora. Todos sabemos que esta serie trata de la historia de amor de Conrad y Belly, por eso solemos tener las partes POV en la voz de Belly o en la de Conrad.

Es una película que nos hace reflexionar acerca de la vida y lo que hacemos con ella. Si debemos ser tan estrictos a la hora de vivirla o solo dejarnos llevar por lo que ocurra. Creo que deja un lindo mensaje y es bastante entretenida de entrada con estas amigas alocadas, cada una con su personalidad. Aunque siento que en algún punto se me quedó un poco corta, no profundizó en algunos aspectos importantes y me molesto cierto recurso utilizado.

It's a film that makes us reflect on life and what we do with it. Whether we should be so strict about how we live it or just go with the flow. I think it leaves a nice message and is quite entertaining from the start with these crazy friends, each with their own personality. Although I feel that at some point it fell a little short for me, it didn't delve deeply into some important aspects and I was bothered by a certain device used.

Sé que está mal comparar, pero me gustó un poco más que la de Mi año en Oxford y es que sí, la nombro porque tienen una temática parecida en varios aspectos. Sin embargo, esta me llegó mucho más, me creía las actuaciones y la química entre los protagonistas, y me resultó un poco más profunda en cuanto al mensaje a transmitir. Pero no deja de molestarme que al final todo se reduzca a una sola cosa que en un principio no estaba contemplada, aunque me la vi venir.

De nuevo una enfermedad irrumpe en la película, parece como si ya no pudiera ver algo sin que haya algún personaje que se esté muriendo de cáncer. Que si, que ya se que existe y es muy común, pero no quiero tener que verlo también en una película. Hay más recursos que pueden resultar igual de conmovedores para realizar este estilo de películas sin recurrir a alguna enfermedad. Eso me tiene un poco cansada.

La vi crecer y en una película de corta duración eso está muy bien. Ahora, volviendo a Jack, no sé sabe casi nada de él, si tiene familia o algo más allá del viaje que está haciendo. Eso también me descolocó un poco.

When I saw the ad on one of my favorite apps, Netflix, I hesitated a bit before deciding to watch it. The reason? Because I saw a beautiful dog on the cover and that indicated to me that, surely, there would be some drama, tenderness, a few tears but also laughter. So I said to myself, "you know this is one of your favorite themes, the ones with a cute dog as the protagonist"; then I got excited and hit Play on my TV and got ready to enjoy my movie, called My Friend Enzo.

And since I started watching it, I got hooked, initially because the protagonist, as I had guessed, was a cute dog named Enzo, but what gave the whole plot personality was that Enzo was given a voice, as he himself told his story from the moment his owner adopted him until the end of the movie. That detail made the whole story stand out a lot, and also gave it a fun touch in several scenes, as Enzo was a dog with a lot of personality, and honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised if he had actually done everything he did in the movie.

Well, Enzo shone in some scenes; sometimes I wonder how directors manage to make animals perform certain scenes, and in this movie, this was what stood out the most. At first, Enzo's owner, a race car driver on the rise to fame, decided to adopt him to have some company. That was the idea, but over the years, after getting married and starting a family, Enzo recounted everything those changes meant for him, his owner, and everyone around them.

Cuando vi el anuncio en una de mis aplicaciones favoritas, Netflix, dudé un poco, para disponerme a verla, ¿la razón? Porque vi a un hermoso perro en la carátula y eso me indicó que, seguramente, vendría algo de drama, ternura, algunas lágrimas pero también risas. Así que me dije: "sabes que es una de las temáticas preferidas tuyas, las que tienen como protagonista un lindo perrito"; entonces me animé y le di Play a mi TV y me dispuse a disfrutar mi película, llamada Mi Amigo Enzo.

Y desde que empecé a verla, me engancho, en un inicio porque el protagonista como había adivinado, era un lindo perro llamado Enzo, pero lo que más le dio personalidad a toda la trama fue que a Enzo le dieron voz, pues el mismo contó su historia desde que su dueño lo adopto, hasta el final de la película, ese detalle hizo que destacara mucho, toda la historia y también que en varias escenas le dio ese toque divertido, pues Enzo era un perro con mucha personalidad y la verdad no me hubiese asombrado que en serio hubiese hecho todo lo que hizo en la película.

Pues Enzo se lució en algunas escenas, a veces me pregunto cómo harán los directores para que los animales hagan ciertas escenas y en esta película, esto fue lo que más destacó. En un inicio, el dueño de Enzo un corredor de autos en proceso de la fama, decidió adoptarlo para así tener compañía. Esa fue la idea, pero con el paso de los años, luego al casarse y formar una familia, Enzo fue relatando todo lo que esos cambios fueron significando para él, su dueño y todo su entorno.

Pronto, toda la familia manejo situaciones bastante difíciles, donde Enzo tuvo varios papeles bien importantes entre ellos, el de la fiel compañía, el fiel compañero en todo momento, el de la diversión y de antiestrés para todos, el protector sobre todo, con todos en la familia, fungió un papel y todos le amaban y él a ellos. Mientras miraba ciertas escenas, me recordaba a uno de mis fieles perros, en su humildad, en lo inteligente y sabio, pues sabía qué hacer cuando se necesitaba, al igual que Enzo. Eso me llevó a la nostalgia y ese fue otro gran punto a su favor.

Para cuando llegaron las escenas dramáticas, ya Enzo me tenía en su mano o, mejor dicho, en sus patas. Ja, ja, ja. Su familia pasó momentos terribles, donde siempre estuvieron acompañados por el fiel Enzo en cada escena, me sentía al lado de aquel noble animal; pero también ante cada ocurrencia de él, me viví cada sonrisa, cada alegría, cada lágrima de los protagonistas y a medida que esta fue avanzando y Enzo fue envejeciendo, contando su propia historia no pude menos que seguir recordando aquel fiel amigo que tuve en mi infancia.

Así es que si quieres ver una película divertida, con su toque dramático, como todas las historias y vivencias que en la vida real vivimos, la recomiendo para que la veas en familia, ya que es idónea para todo público, grandes y chicos, así es que están invitados a verla y luego me cuentan como les fue, no se arrepentirán. ¡Saludos!

Hola mis amantes de las buenas películas, hoy de nuevo por acá para compartir una recomendación de una película que aunque está fuera de temporada, vale la pena disfrutar.

La verdad yo soy team navidad, desde las decoraciones hasta las películas que me encantan, pues me hacen vivir diferentes navidades, algunos son hermosas y otras son tristes.

Así que para aperturar está época navideña que aún falta pero que no es mala idea comenzar a disfrutar, para poder ver todas las que tengo en la lista de mi tv, les recomiendo Navidad en conway

Es una película que nos deja queriendo cambiar la realidad y un hermoso aprendizaje, la trama parece ser una linda navidad, pero tiene un final mágico y triste, que te deja un nudo en la garganta y que te invito a descubrir al verla.

Creo que todos tenemos una segunda oportunidad que debemos aprovechar, porque también podemos cambiar, valorar a esas personas que llegan en un momento y la iluminan, esas que sin esperar nos acompañan en momentos difíciles de nuestra vida.

Dejar atrás riñas del pasado, construir una amistad con ese vecino, de quién en algún momento necesitarás y dar la oportunidad a quien realmente se esfuerza para ser mejor cada dia, porque muchas veces los errores del pasado no definen la persona que somos en el presente.

La trama es sencilla un género drama y romance en época de navidad, pero conmovedora y llena de mucho aprendizaje, como por ejemplo que la vida es impredecible y que a veces nos toca lidiar con el dolor de perder un ser amado y con ese enojo con uno y con todos a nuestro alrededor.

Fue estrenada en el año 2013, con una duración de 1hora y 37 minutos, dónde nos recuerdan el amor, el perdón y el dolor que sentimos cuando no podemos hacer nada más que estar para ese ser amado.

Que a veces acompañar es la mejor medicina y que crear los mejores momentos para nuestros seres amados, realmente no tiene precio, que aprender a valorar la vida y la salud es lo mejor que podemos hacer como personas.

I’ve had this movie for over a month but no time to to see it. It’s funny how I am able to make time to watch 7 season series and not a single movie. Anyways, I loved this movie and I want to share it with you all.

THE PLOT

- - - At the age of 14, Evan McCauley was diagnosed of schizophrenia after he used a know it write look inside on his chest. From there, he had to visit the hospital, take so many drugs and all just to manage his symptoms yet that still didn’t stop him from causing trouble on some days.

The voices in his head felt real. He had dreams which felt like had lived them before. This made life hard for him as he sometimes wants able to differentiate between his imaginations and reality. Due to his condition, he had lost so many jobs and the last job ge had , he quit on his own. Now, ge couldn’t even land a cleaning job because no one would employ a crazy person with history of assault to work for them.

That is how he landed himself in the police cell after deal went wrong. He carved a sword for this crazy drug dealer in exchange for his medication but things went sideways. While in the police cell, he found out more about himself than he knew. Apparently, he was schizophrenic but rather reincarnated and he had people from their clan looking for him.

He found out that there were more people like himself out there but they were on two sides, the good and the bad. Fortunately for him,Nora came in at the right time to save him from Bathurst who was bent on getting information from his old self on the location of an egg which could possibly end the world and reincarnation all together.

With Nora, he meets other people on the good side who were ready to help him regain his memories but all they didn’t wasn’t working out. Their final option was to introduce him to Artisan, a neurologist who knew his way around the brain. He was pushed to far till he passed out and everyone thought he died. But in that moment , he woke up and told them the location of the egg. Before they could say Jack, Bathurst had his attack them. They managed to escape but Bathurst had the body of his past self,Treadway.

Eventually, they had to fight with Bathurst and his people to deactivate the egg in order to save humanity. Are the able to do that? You’d have to find out.

- - - I would rate this movie a 10/10 on any day because it’s my ideal kind of movie. I love action movies and this one was acted so well. No extra drama,everything was just on point.
