Hoy les traigo una reseña y Opinión , de esta serie de la que seguro muchos han oído, o visto, y es que desde hace unos años se ha estado llevando premios y reconocimientos por su calidad y el nivel de actuaciones magistrales que nos da,y la verdad la había ido dejando de lado , mientras pasaban los años, hasta que llegó la cuarta temporada y dije ahora así tengo suficiente episodios para lanzarme un maratón y no quedarme angustiada esperando la otra temporada 🥲 que es algo que siempre me pasa, y me puse al fin a verla, un poco con las expectativas por las nubes después de todos estos años escuchando tantas buenas críticas , así que empecé a ver la primera temporada de The Bear de Fx , antes de darme cuenta estaba en la tercera ,y luego de comerme las uñas y planear un transmisión conjunta con mi mejor amiga terminamos viéndo la cuarta temporada mientras nos comentábamos todo lo que pasaba y sin darme cuenta la terminé 🥲.

Mi veredicto es que es increíblemente buena , y que toda la crítica buena que ha recibido es muy acertada, una serie imperdible.

Entre lo que ya mencioné, su mejor fuerte es el tono dramático que tiene la serie, hace que tenga un ritmo rápido , frenético y entretenida, los episodios se sienten demasiado cortos , el ambiente que se construye también es muy poderoso y mientras la vez te siente parte de la familia. Otro punto a favor es que aunque apenas te va mostrando algo de los personajes ya que al ser corta la serie no tiene tanta amplitud para el desarrollo de cada personaje en la primera temporada, incluso el nivel de estrés que muestran en cada escena da perfectamente la ocasión para que cada actor logre dar lo mejor de su actuación,y logres empatizar o odiar a cada personaje. También una de las mejores representaciones de como es una familia disfuncional , sobre todo en lo que respecta a esta situación tan fuerte en el que están atravesando como lo es el duelo por la perdida de Mike, al igual en como destacan la familiaridad y amistad de un grupo de personas que se reúnen a trabajar pero que terminan compartiendo tantas vivencias que se convierten en familia.

De mis personajes favoritos son Sidney ,Richie y Natalie ,pero eso no significa que los demás sean malos , todos los personajes destacan a su manera, y mientras transcurren las temporadas los vas conociendo más, siento que es una serie que no tiene desperdicio, es sumamente magnética, y cautivante, con grandes actuaciones , excelente guión y con mucho cuidado a los detalles y la estética, y es obvio que fue pensada para que se viera y transmitirá el amor por el arte culinario , hay escenas que son realmente bellas y atrapantes , así que si aún estas dudando de verla (como me paso a mí) te la recomiendo sí ninguna duda , además una de las mejores cosas de la serie es que no tiende a tener esa brecha de distancia tan grande entre temporadas (que ahora parece ser lo común para las series 🙃), si no que probablemente tendremos una nueva temporada mucho más pronto.Pero cuéntenme cinéfilos ustedes la vieron ? This movie is the kind of prison break movie that trades big explosions for sweaty palms and held breath and I absolutely loved it.

Fun fact is that it’s based on a true story and you could feel that in every detail. There’s no Hollywood gloss anywhere; just grit, ingenuity and the constant threat of being caught.

Set in 1979 South Africa during apartheid, the story follows Tim Jenkin (Daniel Radcliffe) and Stephen Lee (Daniel Webber), two anti-apartheid activists who get locked up in Pretoria Prison for distributing banned political leaflets.

What fascinates me here is how they plan their escape. I’m used to insiders helping out or some tunnel digging, or maybe a riot but no. I was surprised with something unconventional, something actually mind blowing.

Tim, the nerdy one, spends weeks secretly crafting wooden keys to open the prison doors one by one. It’s meticulous, methodical and pretty genius. The tension I got from this movie was peak and it doesn’t stem from gunfights or chases but from simply watching them slide a key into a lock, praying it turns before a guard walks by.

Daniel Radcliffe^{actually my first impression of him}completely disappears into this role. He’s a tightly wound man who is aware that the smallest mistake could mean more years behind bars. And his accomplices also help add both tension and heart.

As for the pacing, it’s solid for the most part. It’s a slow burn, but in an interesting way. You definitely want it to take its time so every step of the plan feels earned. The sound design really helps too; gosh those little clicks, footsteps and rattling locks really set me on edge.

Would I recommend it? Definitely. It’s smart, tense and proof that sometimes the quietest moments can be the most nail-biting.

Jaeden Martell's (Jacob) performance was also surprising, making you wonder at times if he's innocent or a psychopath.

Furthermore, the series itself is mainly about whether Jacob is actually innocent or, on the contrary, guilty. So it plays with the times and with certain details of the crime that sometimes point or simply discard Jacob, but this more than anything, is for the viewer to question Jacob's innocence or sentence him innocent, because that's what the series is about: Is Jacob guilty or not? Also, that the series raises issues such as genetic inheritance and the debate of whether certain genes passed from parent to child cause a certain disposition to crime to exist. Which, in my opinion, is not pseudoscience, but neither is it a deterministic science. For it is a rather complex field of science, which, while recognizing patterns, these must be accompanied by interaction with the environment.

This series is similar in idea to another one that came out a few months ago, but with a very different approach. The common thing is that I liked both of them and not only me, but also the critics, because they make you see both sides of the coin, maybe later I will also do a review of it.

Hoy les traigo una recomendación de una serie que vi hace mucho tiempo y que me atrapo por completo desde el momento uno. Siendo sincera, la vi en tres días. La rapidez se debe a que primero, quería ver su desenlace y segundo, era una miniserie, intensa, pero miniserie. Así que creo que es una serie ideal para ver cuando no tienes nada más que hacer y que te mantenga entretenido.

Esta serie se llama Defendiendo a Jacob de tan solo 8 capítulos. Está basada en la novela homónima de William Landay. Es una intensa serie de drama que gira en torno a un horroroso crimen cometido en ¿adivinen? Un tranquilo pueblo donde nunca ocurre nada. Este drama criminal producido por Apple TV+ combina drama, misterio, ambigüedad moral y el peso de la duda en un thriller judicial que te plantea hasta dónde estás dispuesto a llegar cuando alguien a quien amas es acusado de un terrible crimen. Más cuando tú representas la justicia en tu pueblo y el principal sospechoso de un terrible crimen es tu hijo.

Pues eso es lo que le sucede a Andy Barber (interpretado por Chris Evans), fiscal adjunto del distrito, quien evoca justicia y rectitud, un hombre que vive su vida al pie de las normas y las reglas, admirado por quienes lo rodean y con una familia que parece sacada de una revista, compuesta por una esposa hermosa y un hijo. Pero su vida perfecta y todo lo que él creía cambia de la noche a la mañana cuando su hijo de tan solo 14 años, Jacob, es acusado de asesinar a un compañero de clase, Ben Rifkin.

El primer sospechoso no fue Jacob, pues era su propio padre, Andy, quien junto con un equipo investigaba el caso, pero a medida que la investigación avanza, todos, menos el propio Andy, empiezan a apuntar a Jacob, porque se descubre el historial compartido entre Ben y Jacob. Pronto, Andy, dejado fuera del caso, tendrá que usar todo su ingenio y recursos para sumergirse en profundidad en la investigación para encontrar el asesino de Ben y demostrar la inocencia de Jacob.

Andy y su esposa Laurie harán lo que sea para demostrar la inocencia de su hijo, sobre todo Andy, pero más pronto que tarde se verán enfrentados a decisiones y situaciones que pondrán en juego sus dilemas éticos, y toparse con la realidad de que su familia no era tan perfecta como pensaban. Salen secretos familiares a la luz y la creciente incertidumbre sobre la inocencia de su hijo.

Si soy sincera, me gustaron bastante las actuaciones de Evans y Dockery (Andy y Laurie). Sus escenas tienen una carga emocional intensa y una química profunda, donde se siente la angustia y el temor por su único hijo. Entendido, como la carga de demostrar la inocencia de su hijo, mientras el mundo entero le apunta con el dedo, sobre todo cuando salen a la luz más detalles sobre la investigación. Esto, multiplicado por la atmósfera tensa que se siente en la serie, hace denotar su angustia como padres, no solo por el deseo de hallar la manera de demostrar que Jacob no lo hizo, sino por el temor, por la posibilidad de que, en verdad, sea culpable. La actuación de Jaeden Martell (Jacob) tambien fue asombrosa, por momentos hacia pensar si el chico era inocente de todo crimen o pueda ser un psicópata.

Aunado a esto, la serie en sí, se trata de demostrar si Jacob en realidad es inocente o, por el contrario, culpable. Por lo que juega, con los tiempos y con ciertos detalles del crimen que a veces apuntan o simplemente descartan a Jacob, pero esto más que nada, es para que el espectador se cuestione la inocencia de Jacob o lo sentencie inocente, porque de eso trata la serie: **¿Jacob es culpable o no?**Además, que la serie plantea cuestiones como la herencia genética y el debate de si ciertos genes pasados de padres a hijo hagan que exista cierta disposición al crimen. Que, a mi parecer, no es pseudociencia, pero tampoco es una ciencia determinista. Pues es un campo bastante complejo de la ciencia, que, si bien reconoce patrones, estos deben ir acompañados por la interacción con el entorno.

Esta serie se parece en idea a otra que salió hace unos meses, pero con un enfoque muy distinto. Lo común es que ambas me gustaron y no solo a mí, sino también a la crítica, porque hacen ver las dos caras de la moneda, puede que más adelante también haga un review de ella.

Si hay franquicias de películas que son exitosas no podemos dejar de hablar de todo lo referente a Jurassic World o en su momento Jurassic Park. Son esos films que se saben que sin importar la calidad ya sea de todo lo referente a lo visual, cosa que acá es vital, o a nivel de trama van a recaudar una cifra de dinero absurda lo que se traduciría en un éxito total. 180MM de dólares fue el presupuesto para esta nueva historia, en taquilla ya llevan recaudados más 800MM lo que supone o da para pensar que estamos a ante uno de los mejores aciertos de la saga. Pero, la película en si es realmente tan buena como lo muestran sus números? - ahí está el debate.

Esto ocurre unos cuantos años después de Jurassic World Domination. Tenemos a Zora (Scarlett Johansson) que no me quedó claro a qué se dedica, mercenaria, ex agente, ex militar, ni idea; quien junto a un grupo de personas se dirigen a la isla en donde alguna vez estuvo el centro de investigaciones del antiguo parque jurásico para buscar ADN de los dinosaurios, que abandonaron en aquel lugar, con la finalidad de usarlo para crear una medicina para el corazón que se supone va a salvar a muchas personas. Estamos en un mundo en donde los dinosaurios están muriendo porque no pudieron adaptarse al nuevo ecosistema citadino por lo que estas criaturas que quedan están justamente en esa isla en medio de la zona ecuatorial, ya sea para preservarlas o porque son muy peligrosas (producto de experimentos).

Qué pasa con la trama? - pues que no ofrece nada nuevo. Es una que está llena de todos los cliché posibles y que estamos cansados de ver. Tenemos a la mercenaria todopoderosa, al científico altruista que solo piensa en la belleza y bienestar de los dinosaurios, al empresario sin escrúpulos que solo busca el beneficio a través del dinero, a la familia desprotegida con la niña que siempre se queda atrás y a los personajes secundarios que poco a poco van cayendo. A nivel de historia no tiene peso, no nos muestra algo relevante o que sea muy necesario pensando en toda la saga, si la película no se hubiera hecho no pasaba absolutamente nada. Dándonos cuenta de todo esto estoy seguro que muchos ya sabíamos cómo iba a terminar todo y eso me molesta un poco.

Me gustó los guiños a la película original del 93 y es que acá tenemos al mismo guionista de aquel film, David Koepp; hay muchas escenas, tomas, muchos pasajes que parecen flashbacks de la mítica Jurassic Park. No estoy comparándolas porque eso sería un sacrilegio pero si sentí que se quiso como tratar de recuperar la esencia de lo que fue la primera película de todo este universo. Para que el trabajo estuviera totalmente completo creo que tuvo que haber habido un poco más de suspenso, aquí no percibí eso. Si hay sus momentos de "tensión" pero no tienen la fuerza necesaria que amerita el hecho de estar sobreviviendo a unos dinosaurios alterados genéticamente.

Entramos al terreno más complicado, al visual. Gareth Edwards no es ningún novato en este tipo de films en donde hay que poner a prueba la capacidad del CGI. Películas como Rogue One de Star Wars y Godzilla son algunas de sus obras por lo que uno podía esperar algo bueno. Personalmente no me parecieron un completo desastre los dinosaurios, los he visto peores. Hacer estas cosas y que queden 100% realistas es algo extremadamente complicado. Creo que la parte que más disfruté es en donde vimos al Quetzalcoatlus, creo que esas escenas fueron de lo mejor que nos ofreció la película. En términos generales lo visual quizás no es lo más top pero si sin dudas no fue lo peor.

En fin, un film al que le doy un 6.5/10. Sus personajes siento que no hay ninguno que destaque a pesar del gran elenco que tiene: Jonathan Bailey y Mahershala Ali, actores que han sido nominados para varios premios y hasta ganadores de Oscars. Si eres fanático de la franquicia por momentos la vas a disfrutar pero en otros te va a parecer una pérdida de tiempo, es de esas película que tienen esta dualidad extraña.
