Last July, "Untamed" premiered, an original Netflix production that was initially conceived as a miniseries of only six episodes, but due to its great acceptance by the public and specialized critics, it was renewed for a second season, now becoming a regular series. That news motivated me to watch what is now its first season, which tells the story of Special Agent Kyle Turner, who must solve a possible murder case that occurred in the vast Yosemite National Park. That very event will cause Kyle's past traumas to resurface, affecting not only his mind but also the case he must solve.
Despite not knowing anything about this series, I still trusted public opinion and Netflix's decision. The idea that the basis of the series is the resolution of a case, which would be told in a few episodes, motivated me even more to watch this new series with very low expectations, knowing that it would probably lack originality. that led me to want to witness an entertaining story, which is what I always hope to get from a Netflix production, and after finishing this story, I can say that it is an entertaining production, not original and far from being the best in its genre.
Setting this story in a place where, despite being a vast forest with many dangers to present, I think it was the right decision, since one does not expect so much chaos to be present in a place where one can perceive peace or simply tranquility and beauty. This was a decision that I liked very much because the danger generated by humans has no limits. I refer to the above because I believe it is the perception that the character "Kyle Turner" has of most of the people around him and those who visit the park. This is an important aspect because the story of this series is told from the point of view of this character, a man who has suffered and whose past torments him so much that he has learned to live with great pain, but which also serves as an impetus to carry out his work as an agent of justice in the park.
Eric Bana's performance as "Kyle" is the highlight of the series. As I described earlier, this is the typical character tormented by a past he can never seem to leave behind, which affects his relationships with his colleagues and his family, and where I only find a connection with his use of alcohol. In this regard, the originality is completely lost in this story, as it is always repetitive to see a protagonist in his 40s or 50s who is the best at his job but has attitude problems due to past traumas. Now, regarding Bana's performance, he successfully portrays this type of character and gives a solid performance, briefly showing vulnerability and pain for what he has suffered. His character is a tormented man who does not hide the way he deals with his problems, but at the same time shows strength because I think that is what many expect of him. It may be contradictory what I am about to say, but despite being a character who fulfills all the clichés of this type of story, in my opinion, he is the positive aspect of this series.
Untamed is not a perfect series. The script contains a lot of plot holes, some of which are resolved for no apparent reason. In addition, although I appreciate the few episodes, I think that trying to cover too much ground, and I repeat, the resolution of some of the plots is not the best. With regard to the main theme, which focuses on how the protagonist must deal with a large number of difficult losses, in my opinion, it is the best part of the series, although I must also say that this type of character has been developed better, as have the performances. It is precisely this lack of originality that detracts from the relevance of this series, although given its widespread popularity, it surely offered a large audience what they needed to enjoy it, which in the end is the main objective. Despite not rating this series as excellent, I would be lying if I said that I do not have certain expectations regarding what will be told in the confirmed second season. I just hope that there will be screenwriters who develop a better storyline and thus show a new side of the protagonist.
Hello, anime fans. We're back with reviews of a japanese fantasy anime series that I watched last season. This anime is similar to those typical works with long titles in their original translations, lots of clichés, and stories with generic characters. But if you give it a chance, you'll see that this isn't the case, or at least not entirely. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima, this animated adaptation was produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film. I invite you to discover a fantastic story with a forty-something protagonist who just wants to live a quiet life.

The anime begins by introducing us to Beryl Gardinant, a forty-something small-town guy who lives with his parents in a rural village while training with the sword in a small dojo he has in his home. One day, a girl appears at his doorstep to give him a letter and then introduces herself as Allucia Citrus, a former student of Beryl's swordmanship and current leader of the Knights of Liberion (the army of the empire that rules this kingdom). The letter our protagonist receives is nothing less than an invitation to work in the capital as a special trainer for the Order of Liberion. It seems that his sword skills will lead him on a series of adventures far from his quiet, rustic village life.

I think last season was one of the seasons where I watched the least amount of fantasy anime so far, and I'm quite grateful for that. Not only because I didn't have to watch the same story repeat itself over and over again and then make the same criticism as always, but also because it gave me the opportunity to explore other genres such as Slice of Life, for example. However, this time I gave the anime I'm going to talk about today a chance because of its somewhat different plot. Many of you who read my reviews already know that the fantasy genre is overexploited with similar stories and generic plots. That's why watching an anime that stands out from the rest, even if only a little, is very appealing, and this is one of those cases.
From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman is, in short, a fantasy anime that differs from others in the same genre in that it has a protagonist who breaks the mold we all know. I'm referring to the typical young, attractive protagonist with powers and abilities that make him invincible and a harem of women in love with him as a team. In this case, he is neither young, nor powerful, nor completely invincible; he is simply a country bumpkin who is good with a sword. The simple fact that the focus is on a person who has no intention of attracting attention or doing much with his life because he believes he has lived long enough gives us a much more mature, somewhat realistic, and interesting view of this story, which is still fantastic.

Returning to the plot we mentioned above, our protagonist Beryl Gardinant experiences one of those unexpected "canonical events" that will completely change his quiet life in his small hometown. Reluctantly, he has no choice but to accept the offer to teach one of the greatest exercises in this medieval and fantastical world in the kingdom's capital. Just by mentioning this, we can already get an idea of the change that our protagonist will undergo in terms of his routine and personal life and everything he will leave behind. Of course, since he has trained with the sword almost his entire life, it's not that he's going to leave something important behind to do something else, but rather that he will do the same thing he always has, but with older, more experienced people and in a much bigger place.
One detail I like about this plot is that it doesn't seek to attract attention with unexpected twists and dramatic moments all the time. It's true that it plays a lot with chance, especially with the fact that upon arriving in the capital, our protagonist meets several of his students again in important positions and dangerous jobs. At one point, it even feels a bit like they are repeating the same old cliché of the protagonist's "harem" of women, but this is dismissed later when we learn what each of them thinks of our forty-something small-town guy. Otherwise, the plot is more involved in unusual and even dangerous situations in Beryl's life in the capital as he trains and teaches sword fighting alongside his students and other members of the army.
Another interesting detail is the theme of battles, although it is more visual than anything else. The various confrontations we see in this anime stand out quite a bit since our protagonist has no special abilities, magical powers, or anything of the sort. His strength lies simply in his experience and extensive training with the sword. And we can see this in every battle when we see how he manages to dominate and defeat his opponent each time, without any tricks or help of any kind. This is arguably the most striking aspect of the anime, as seeing a forty-year-old swordsman beat up everyone (even very powerful enemies) is obviously quite appealing. Another appealing aspect, apparently, is the fanservice, which fortunately is almost non-existent in this anime.
The humor is another highlight, as it is neither childish nor too heavy. In fact, there is very little humor to be found in this anime in its everyday situations, with mostly awkward and ironic moments. What I mean is that the theme of Beryl Gardinant's perception of himself is not as heavy as it is in other cases. Because yes, this is not the first time I have seen an anime where the protagonist is skilled or strong, but thinks that he is not and underestimates himself to the point of becoming completely incredulous and stubborn. In this case, it's not quite like that, because although he demonstrates skill and experience, he doesn't believe he's worthy of being considered a "Master Swordsman", but he is aware of how skilled and experienced he is.
But even then, it's not like he's going to make a fool of himself or insist that he's not as good as everyone says he is. What's more, he accepts certain assignments and participates in various important missions without complaint after a while. Although this is mostly thanks to the great work done by Allucia Citrus(who, incidentally, is the one most often credited with having feelings for the protagonist, beyond mere admiration) in recommending him as a future Master Swordsman. On the one hand, it can be said that our protagonist proves to be someone different, without much desire to stand out, a bit whiny, and even ignorant in several ways. But when it comes down to it, he manages to attract attention with his skills and swordplay. His students also stand out in particular with different personalities and quite interesting abilities.
As for the enemies, I don't have much to say since this anime doesn't have a main antagonist, but rather a group of individuals who share a certain belief about the God of this world and their interpretation of good and evil. But there isn't a single face behind it, like a Demon King or something like that. So, well, it's not worth delving into this any further. Another thing worth mentioning about this anime is that it has a few quiet episodes, as you can often feel that the anime in general has a slow pace and everything. It also deals with some rather heavy topics, such as the death of a loved one and trust. Cases like Mewi Freya serve as very good examples.
Last but not least, let's talk about the visual aspect of this anime. With two studios in charge of its production and animation (one of them being Passione), it's normal to see that it has very good quality from start to finish. Especially with the battles, which, as I said before, are quite striking because of how well they are done in terms of fluidity and visual details. Be careful not to be fooled, though, because in many cases it's obvious that they use CGI or 3D animation for certain battles or action sequences, but they camouflage it very well with detailed strokes to make it look like pure 2D. However, the 120° turns, the focus, and the movement styles and choreography are great.
Otherwise, the animation does a good job of giving us good character designs, a color palette that is not too strong or bright, good landscapes, and excellent visual effects. The same goes for the sound effects, especially the sounds of swords, explosions, spells, etc. The soundtrack also stands out with epic moments, conveying the emotions of each episode, no matter how calm it may be. The opening isn't the best of the season, but it doesn't sound or look that bad in the end. In short, this anime is perfect if you're looking for something very different from what you see so often in this industry, especially in the fantasy genre.
Personally, I give it a rating of 8.5/10 in terms of the fantasy, adventure, and action genres.

I have been a fan of Danny Boyle's films since I saw Shallow Grave way back in 1994. And then Trainspotting completely blew me a way a couple of years later. So when 28 Days later came out in 2002 I couldn't wait to see it. Well actually I could. You see, I am a complete baby when it comes to scary movies. There have only been a handful of horror movies I have actually watched in the theater. I simply get too emotionally involved in the movies so when something is scary... I am really scared. Sadly this meant I had to wait until it was available on a streaming service before I could see 28 Years Later. This is one of those times I wish I would have been brave enough to see this movie in the theater. The visuals and sound would have been awesome in Dolby! But even without that, I loved two of the three movies packed into 28 Years Later.
Wait. Three movies? Yep. that's what I said and I stand by it. 28 Years Later is like three (or maybe even four) separate movies rolled into one. I actually wonder if this would have been even better as an eight episode television series. And I do not mean this was three or four distinct stories. It is all about the same twelve year old boy who is coming of age on an isolated island after a zombie apocalypse. It is definitely meant to be one movie, but the style changed so much that it really seemed like several shorter ones.
The first 45 minutes of the movie is a cool story about a dad training his son to survive while surrounded by zombies. The father takes his boy on his first "zombie hunt" and it was really exciting and touching. I freaking loved this part of the movie and was ready to say it had become my favorite zombie movie ever. The movie then takes a turn to focus more on the boy and his mother. To me the movie slowed down a bit here and got a little weird. But I still liked it. I just did not like it nearly as much as the first act. And then there is the ending. Ummmm.... wow.... uh... what just happened? The movie takes another turn and becomes even crazier and more exciting. Thank god they have already started the sequel because if I never got to see the characters introduced at the end of the movie ever again, I might cry myself to sleep. I literally cannot wait to see the next one!!!!
Now about those visuals and sound. Boyle and his crew did a simply amazing job of cutting from the past to the present and from the seen and unseen. When the action occurs, Boyle uses a choppy style to make the violence more watchable instead of just being gory. he switches camera angles during the action to really add to the feeling of chaos one might experience when being attacked by zombies. He also used sound to keep you on the edge of your seat as you hoped the sounds wouldn't get any closer. But perhaps the best use of sound and editing paid off by making a Rudyard Kipling poem transform into one of the scariest things I have ever heard. I could (and probably will) watch the scenes where Boyle uses Kipling's poem "Boots" to show a bit of the history of war and human kind's efforts to survive.
I really hope my description of the middle portion of the movie doesn't deter anyone from seeing it. That part is still good but the other parts are sensational! And without the middle part, you would miss Ralph Fiennes' amazing performance as a... well I don't know what to call him without slipping in any spoilers so I''ll just say you need to see his performance. And it wasn't just him. The casting is perfect! Aaron Taylor-Johnson is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. Jodie Comer, who I also liked in Free Guy and the Bikeriders, plays a great mom. But the kid... he is amazing! I can't believe it is Alfie Williams' first big role. His perforce as 12 year old Spike makes the entire movie. As the main character, if he couldn't do the job, the movie would have sucked.
What Happens When the Deadliest Hitman Becomes a Dad Bod Shopkeeper?
What if I told you that one of the deadliest assassins in the world gave up everything, the bloodshed, the glory, the infamy for love... and now runs a convenience store with a dad bod? Sounds absurd, right? That was my exact thought when I stumbled across Sakamoto Days. I didn’t expect much. I thought, “Just another over-the-top, gag-infused action anime.” But from the first episode, I was hooked, chained, even. And now, I need to tell you why.
I had been on a heavy anime binge- deep psychological, sad romance, emotionally draining thrillers. I required a change. Something fun. An escape of existential angst and heartache. One of my friends in the USA recommended Sakamoto Days to me. It is described as John Wick meets One Punch Man but with dad jokes. The strange description itself was sufficient enough to get me curious.
I pressed the vimeo link, and after just a few seconds, I could see an obese man avoiding bullets and cleaning the store floor and giving discounts to the customers with a smile. There it is. I was in.
It is a story that revolves around Taro Sakamoto who is a once feared hitman in the underground world. The mere mention of his name made enemies shiver. However, one day there comes a woman, he falls in love and retires. Not only retires, but utterly changes himself into a chubby humble owner of a convenience store. Sounds peaceful, does it not?
Not quite.
Sakamoto does not give up his past that easily. Old foes knock the door. New killers are after his head. Mysterious groups reemerge. However, there is the twist, Sakamoto promised his wife not to kill anyone again. And now, any conflict he has to engage in is a lesson in non-lethal takedowns, clever strategies, and excessive martial arts choreography... all the time, keeping the store clean and well-supplied.
It’s ridiculous. It’s brilliant. It is all that which you did not realize you wanted.
The most impressive thing about Sakamoto Days is that it can combine action and comedy, without being shallow in any way. Yes, the battles are crazy - seriously, you are going to rewatch certain scenes just to see how Sakamoto combats assassins with rubber chicken or canned beverages, but the plot also develops emotional potential.
We have a glimpse of the Sakamoto psyche. He is not simply a retired killer but a man who is continuously in conflict with his violent nature of the past and the calm life that he desires his family to live. His adoration toward his wife and daughter is not a backstory but a motive of all his actions.
There are supporting characters such as Shin, a telepathic assassin-cum-employee and Lu Xiaotang, the badass daughter of a martial arts master who bring in the comedy and substance. They are not mere sidekicks, they have arcs, secrets and demons to battle with.
When I watched Sakamoto Days, I was reminded of something personal, which is how many times we have versions of ourselves in the past and we attempt to keep them to ourselves. Sakamoto did not forget about himself. He opted to be more to the people he loved.
That was a slap in the face.
There are aspects of ourselves which we have grown out of. Or perhaps, it is the angry, reckless, cold one, the version of you. It could be a broken or hurt person. You can make the choice of peace just like Sakamoto. Still you may be strong and gentle at once.
The action scenes are of the best quality, but what fascinated me the most was not the action scenes. It was the manner in which the anime made me care. Worry over a fat man with a mustache that is trying to manage a store. Bein concerned over his promises. Concern over his silly friends. And when the stakes get higher, as they do, it is because the show compelled you to care about these people on an emotional level.
The animation is smooth and clean, as are the action scenes that are weighty and fast. Each punch, kick, dodge, and the turned-into-weapon objects are choreographed thoroughly. One moment you will laugh and then you will hold your breath.
The music is lively and alternates between light-hearted and tense as a scene changes. The voice acting? Spot-on. Sakamoto also does not speak much, his grunts, sighing, and soft words are so expressive. It is a genius voice direction.
When you are getting weary of yet another action anime with far too mopey characters or plot which takes itself far too seriously, you should give Sakamoto Days a try, because it is your savior.
Want humor? It is funny and not embarrassing.
Want a heart? The family set-up is healthy.
Want action? So ingenious are the fight scenes that they are like puzzles.
Desire characters that you come to like? You will be in love with all of them- even the bad guys
Sakamoto Days is not all bang and a punchy comedy of an ex-hitman with a dad bod. It is a tale of choices, redemption, loyalty and beauty of simple life- all in a package of action and a dose of absurdity.
It informs us that you can be lethal and yet soft. That there are times when the toughest guy in the room is the one that does not pull the trigger. That you do not have to forget your past to make a future, you simply have to live better, choose peace and guard what is important.
Therefore, in case you want a show that will make you laugh or cheer and perhaps even reflect a bit on the possibilities of becoming and changing, then Sakamoto Days should be on your list next.

Have you ever seen up close the hustle journalists go through to get the scoop on the most iconic moments in history—like, for example, the fall of a president? Well, that’s exactly what Civil War brings to the table, and I loved the concept. So I’d like to share a bit about it in case you haven’t seen it yet.
SYNOPSIS:
As the title of the film suggests, the plot is driven by the outbreak of a civil war set geographically in the United States. A group of journalists, led by war photographer Lee Smith (Kirsten Dunst), embark on a journey to get the exclusive story in a setting filled with tension, violence, and utter chaos.
This film highlights the harsh reality of journalism—how reporters risk their lives to show the world what’s happening in countries facing repression or political unrest.
VISUALS
With this film, I won't dive into the aesthetic category I usually explore—instead, I’ll focus on the visuals. This is a VISUAL STORY. There’s very little dialogue, or at least it's not predominant. But every frame is CINEMA. Wide shots, constant movement—the visual narrative thread makes us feel like part of the group of journalists. We’re brought closer to the events, to the action, and the camera captures all of it intentionally.
When the journalists run, we run with them. Honestly, it's a visual masterpiece from start to finish, and that’s largely thanks to the IMAX format, which adds remarkable quality. That’s what drew me in—I could focus on the unfolding action, which in itself told the story.
THE STORY
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but I love journalism. I never really saw field reporting as an option for myself, but I did experience the adrenaline rush of chasing “the scoop,” since I once worked as editor-in-chief at a politically focused digital news outlet. So I completely understand how immersive this kind of work can be.
What fascinated me about this story was seeing Kirsten Dunst in a much more serious, mature role—she barely looked like herself. I completely believed she was a seasoned journalist who had seen it all.
Now, to be honest, this film doesn’t feel far off from the political landscape we’ve experienced in Venezuela. The casualties, the chaos, the restrictions on the press... all of it made it impossible for me to watch this movie as “science fiction.” I fully believed the premise of the story because I’ve seen it up close.
I found it really interesting that despite the intense setting, we get a glimpse into the stoic lives of war journalists—how they're thrown into brutal, grotesque scenes and how all of that weighs on their personal lives. It’s a dangerous career that consumes everything.
CONCLUSION
In short, it’s absolutely worth watching a film like this. It’s visually stunning from start to finish—packed with adrenaline, it pulls you into the chaos and takes you on an emotional journey that starts with fear and anger, and ends with a glimmer of hope. Civil War is a powerful portrait of the current social uprisings against ruling governments. It invites us to empathize with those who risk their lives to make sure the world knows what’s happening—and to ensure that history is documented.
Because let’s be honest: history books aren’t filled with drawings. More often than not, they’re written with sacrifice. Let me know in the comments if you’ve seen it, and what your thoughts are.

So I have been watching this anime called Kaiju No. 8 , and seriously, I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did, So at first,I wasn't really feeling the name, Another monster-fighting anime?” But this one came with it's own flavor, and I am not even going to lie, I really like the storyline, it is giving something different from the usual “young hero with big dreams” vibe, this one starts with a man who is 32 and low key tired of life.
The main guy's name is Kafka Hibino. (Yeah, weird name, I know.) but this guy has been dreaming of joining the Defense Force since he was younger, you know ,fighting monsters and saving lives, but life did not really smile at him early on, Instead of fighting kaiju like he wanted, he ended up working as a cleaner, the one that comes after the battles to help clean the monster guts and debris, Imagine dreaming of being Spider-Man and ending up as the janitor in his building, that’s how sad it was.
But then one day, as anime luck would have it, Kafka got infected by one mysterious kaiju worm-like thing , and boom, his life changed just like that, The man started transforming into a monster himself, Like full-blown kaiju form with crazy strength and all, That is how he became Kaiju No. 8, and now he is living a double life, human on one side, monster on the other.
What I really love about this anime is that it does not just give action and cool fights ,it also talks about dreams, pressure, and growing up, most anime you see nowadays are centered around teenagers who want to save the world, but this one is like a reminder that even if you are in your 30s, you can still go after what you want , even if you are covered in monster skin while doing it.
The fights, They did not come to play at all, the animation is clean, and the action scenes are fast-pace ,not those ones that drag like you are watching a snail fight Plus, the military squad people are really strong too, I especially like Mina Ashiro, Kafka’s childhood friend and crush, She is now one of the top kaiju killers in the Defense Force, and anytime she shows up on screen, you just know trouble is about to end.
Another thing is the humor, Kafka is funny in that tired adult kind of way, like someone that has seen life and is just trying to survive but still manages to crack you up, there is this kind of realness to his character that makes you root for him, and the way he is hiding his monster identity while trying to get into the Defense Force? Omo, the tension.
The only problem is that the episodes are not long enough , you know how you are just getting into the vibe, and boom, episode ends ,But I guess that's how you know the anime is good.
So yeah, if you are really into anime that is action packed, that has emotional depth, and will still gives you laugh out loud moments, Kaiju No. 8 is the one to check out, and especially if you are an adult that still has dreams you have not given up on,I feel this anime might just be speaking your language.
I have only gotten up to the latest episode, waiting for the next season, but so far it’s giving what it is supposed to give, Let me know if you have seen it and what you think, Or if you haven’t, just go check it out already, It is on Crunchyroll, Moviebox and everywhere people watch anime.
I will have to rate this anime 4/5 .

Welcome my dear travelers documenting the internet and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, the other day I was watching memes when I got a recommendation of a movie called "The Taking of Deborah Logan" the funny thing is that it was compared to the Warren files so it was a more than obligatory quote. Without further ado, get ready to document more than just a disease because we are about to begin.

The soundtrack is pleasant, it meets what is expected of the musical section of a horror film, the above is produced through the use of gloomy instruments that generate greater expectation and intrigue in moments of fear.

The construction of the world is curious, from the beginning a common setting for horror films is proposed: Dark scenarios, shadows and events happening in the background and creepy environments, in addition, the interesting thing is its camera angle, it has that touch of documentary so that in everything the events are lived in the first person, It's something that gives a certain touch more intrigue to the film in general.

The plot is quite predictable, it gradually escalates as the film progresses, going from some strange events to unpleasant moments with grotesque scenes, in this sense, the film feels less interesting because the subtlety factor is progressively extinguished. Narratively it is bland, from the beginning a demonic possession is denoted and as the protagonists deal with it and face the inexplicable events that surround Deborah, hand in hand with the above there is a mystery that feels very poorly constructed and that only serves as a plot convenience. Her moments of fear are quite meh since they are mostly unpleasant jumpscare, curiously the moments of greatest dread are those that reflect the devastating of the disease and the physical effects that denote the deterioration of the lady, these small details make the film not feel extremely boring, it is digestible as far as it goes.

The characters are forgettable, they do not have any kind of characterization or trait that allows you to get attached to them, which means that they do not matter to the viewer in any way, in turn, both the villain entity and the protagonists are uninteresting in general. The only thing to highlight in this section is the difficult relationship between mother and daughter, due to the fact that there is clear friction between them due to past quarrels and the need to try to put them aside for the good of the lady because of her illness, this being the most realistic relationship that the film has to offer.
The Taking of Deborah Logan manages to be interesting at times when it focuses on how devastating Alzheimer's can be for both the sufferer and their caregiver, being its scariest and saddest moments the ones that focus on this disease, however, the film is more about fear and possession being both elements a pretty big fiasco, Its horror scenes are sloppily worked and an abusive use is made of easy scares. It is for all of the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, to its credit it has few moments that really make you interested in the film but most of the time it is quite generic.

Hello Hello Community! ✨, series have come back to me, after a season of only watching movies because I didn't feel mentally prepared to open my heart to such a long content as a series, I finally fell for it because of some friends who insisted that I should watch this series, that I would love it and that I would end up hating the main character, as indeed happened; that's how I have left my reluctance and since I have many opinions to give (not to say that I have poison to release), today we will talk about the first season of The Buccaneers ✨.
👑 SINOPSIS || SYNOPSIS 💖
This series tells the story of 5 American friends in 1870 who travel to London in the debutante season in search of husbands, with countless culture shocks that make them look like scandalous girls without the manners and decorum expected for England at the time, this group of friends face different challenges, love triangles, quarrels between friends, ups and downs in the beginning of marriages and family secrets revealed. England was not prepared for what 5 American millionaires had to show and although their society judges easily, it also makes them the sensation of the season.
Nan, Jinny, Conchita, Lizzie and Mabel must prove why being American is synonymous with freedom, or else they will be undermined by strict English protocol that leaves no room for the free expression of ideas and feelings, and where honour, money and aristocratic titles always worth more.
👑 DEBUTANTES NORTEAMERICANAS VS DEBUTANTES INGLESAS || AMERICAN DEBUTANTS VS. ENGLISH DEBUTANTS 💖
As I said at the beginning, although this series has been quite entertaining for me (to the point of watching the second season), it is also true that it has left me with many mixed feelings, and before I go on with the plot and disembowel each of the details that bother me about it (but that are mere personal points of view), first I want to talk about an aspect that I think is essential and very relevant to the series itself, and that is the lack of detail or rather the lack of care for the historical elements in which the series is set.
As a faithful consumer of period romance, for me the small details that characterise period stories are very important, especially courtship; historically speaking for the years in which the plot of this series unfolds, the level of care that was taken with women and courtship with men was everything, the presence of chaperones was extremely relevant, and not to mention the negotiations that the parents reached.
In this sense, what really bothers me is that for 8 episodes we have 5 girls, because let's not forget that if they are debutantes it's because they must be no more than 16 - 17 years old; completely alone without the company of mothers or chaperones coming and going from dances and trips, getting engaged without prior agreements between responsible family members, and being in situations that would be considered inappropriate and scandalous with single men who are not members of their respective families, and yet as a viewer they want you to believe that you're watching a period series.
And yes, I understand that it's a story that is taking some creative liberties, it's something that is quite clear to me with the choice of music that accompanies some scenes, but I feel that there is a fine line between ‘creative liberties’ and the idea of making a ‘period’ series with all the elements of a current youth drama, where the characters (teenagers) are without parental supervision doing whatever they want, the difference? the outfits and that here they are looking to get married.
Now, as for the plot, the truth is that there is a bit of everything in terms of my opinions, on the one hand there are characters that I like quite a lot like Lizzy, Richard and The Duchess; others that I hated specifically in this season (because in the next one I like them a little bit better) like Jinny and a little bit Guy, some that I found a little bit unbearable but as the episodes went by they were evolving like Conchita and Honoria; characters that I love like Theo; James Seadown who won't even have a description because he is the worst of them all. And finally we have Nan.
Although the series seeks to relate the experiences of the 5 friends, we all know that there is always one who plays a more prominent role than the rest, in this case it is the character of Nan, and I really can't describe how much I dislike her, however I feel that what mainly plays against her is the way she is written, and the lack of empathy that as a viewer you can get to have for her.
Nan is the typical indecisive and reckless protagonist who obviously must be torn between two loves, which rather than feeling like a division between two men, is more her not wanting to decide on one and lose the other with that decision. On the one hand we have Guy, who is the guy who really knows her in depth, with whom they try to sell us a romance born of friendship; and on the other hand we have Theo (a Duke) who actually idealises her a little because she is ‘the different girl’, but who offers her the most advantageous marriage (by the standards of the time) and who professes eternal love for her.
With Guy we have passion (we're not going to lie to ourselves) and with Theo we have the social position expected by many, and what does Nan want, well, both. Her constant indecision takes us the whole season from one side to the other, in the sway of a family secret that cannot be revealed because it would damage her completely, and that in the end when it is known does not bring her a single consequence, because within everything that happens around her, that fact that she insists so much on giving importance to, really has no relevance whatsoever.
There are many incongruities in the decisions of the characters, and although this is normal because at the end of the day what these series seek is drama, there comes a point where it disconnects you from the characters, it happens with Nan and her indecision but it also happens for example with Lizzy and her return to England, or with Mabel and her arranged engagement that then scares her and she has to cancel it; although they seek to make the characters more human, they end up reflecting an absolute immaturity on the part of all of them.
The series ends with an ending that although it is a precious staging, what it reflects does not make me feel so comfortable, the message of ‘a sister who sacrifices herself so that another can be free ’ would have been perfect if from the beginning you had built a solid relationship between the two of them, and not a relationship where one claims the other for getting attention without the slightest effort when ‘I make an effort to even reach a little light ’, reflecting a relationship rather marked by disguised envy.
Anyway, I think I threw a lot of venom at this series and the truth is that I've enjoyed it a lot 🤣, or rather, it's been very entertaining to watch; although many things bother me about the plot, the production and the script, it's still a series to pass the time and because it has several stories, it allows me to ignore the main protagonist 🤣.

Directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios, Güeros is a 2014 film that follows the story of two brothers and a friend, who embark on a journey to find their favorite musician: Epigmenio Cruz.
Presented as a coming-of-age movie set in late 1990s Mexico, we find a film that breaks the stigma of art-house cinema, somewhat ironic considering its protagonists are three poor young people and it's filmed in black and white (something the film itself seems to accept). But it turns out to be a much more raw and compelling representation of youthful rebellion than anything else I've seen this year.
More than a stinging social critique, Güeros is a portrait of the Mexican essence, captured from a perspective that anyone anywhere in the world could understand. It invites retrospection, and the pace that starts off annoying ends up working in its favor.
Starring Sebastián Aguirre, Leonardo Ortizgris, and Tenoch Huerta (yes, the one we met as Namor a couple of years later in Wakanda Forever), Güeros is full of beautiful moments; it's immersive, painful, but also extremely optimistic in its own way.
It's commendable that amidst the disaster, the struggle, and the violence, it continues to find spaces to show Mexico City as the beautiful place it is, with all its flaws and virtues.
A solid film that everyone should see. I fell in love with its dialogue, its characters, its moments of calm, and those plagued by chaos.
Give anything that doesn't seem appealing at first a chance; it could become your next favorite movie.
Hi guys, how are you all? Hope you are well. Friends, after working in the Hollywood industry, several action movies have been released. I am a movie lover, and I try to pass the time by watching movies when I get free time. So I always look for movies, since I like action movies a lot, Hollywood movies are always first in my list of favorites.
I saw a movie a few days ago, and I gave you some ideas about this movie. Today, I saw another Hollywood action movie, Priyanka Chopra, one of the best actresses of Bollywood, and John Cena from WWF, and many other well-known actors and actresses acted in this movie. So my curiosity to watch this movie was different, so I decided to watch the movie and thought to share some things about this movie with my friends.
The movie is only shown in a place in Spain. Every year, a beautiful game is held, which is the game with tomatoes, and many people from Europe participate in this game as reporters. Priyanka Chopra, the heroine of this movie, continues to collect various reports. Meanwhile, her eyes are on the building Erzalana. There was a lot of gunfire. There are some great action scenes. This is how the director starts his movie. In the beginning, you will get a different feeling because the beginning is presented very nicely, and the action scenes come within two minutes. I like the beginning very much.
Basically, it is an action comedy film. This movie shows John Cena as an American president. John Cena was an action hero in the film industry before being elected president, while Idris Elba is the president of the UK, was a commando in that country in his previous life. So it can be understood that a real hero is another film industry hero. You will like the movie very much because I like the way the suspense is created in the movie. As long as you watch this movie, you will have a different feeling inside.
The director has presented his story very well, and everyone who has acted in this movie has presented their performance very well, due to which the movie has turned out very well. Those who like action movies will like this movie very much. Hollywood movies are already great if well-known actors and actresses act in them, which makes the movie more exciting.
Those who have seen this movie will probably agree with me, and those who haven't seen this movie yet, if you have seen action movies, then you can watch this movie if you want. I hope you don't feel bad. I like the movie very much.

Running Time: 43 minutes
By the second half of its seventh and final season, Homicide: Life on the Street had all but exhausted its creative momentum, revealing a production team increasingly reliant on formula and desperation as its conclusion loomed. Once celebrated for its unflinching, gritty portrayal of Baltimore’s urban underbelly through the lens of a flawed yet human police unit, the series had devolved into a conventional crime drama steeped in clichés. The show’s earlier brilliance lay in its willingness to blur the lines between procedural rigor and moral ambiguity, but by this point, its scripts leaned heavily on recycled tropes, half-baked subplots, and contrived attempts to recapture ratings. Even episodes that might have harboured potential originality—such as Truth Will Out—felt like retreads of earlier material, stripped of the nuance that once defined the series.
The episode centres on yet another cold case, a trope so overused by this stage that it had lost its capacity to intrigue. Josephine Pitt (Brooke Smith), a woman in her thirties, arrives at the Homicide Unit demanding a reopened investigation into her brother’s 1972 death. The case, initially handled by Lt. Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) when he was a young detective, concluded with Josephine, then aged three, accused of accidentally killing her 18-month-old sibling while they both were in a bathtub. Now, Josephine suspects her family’s story was fabricated and pleads for the truth. Detectives Falsone (Jon Seda) and Stivers (Toni Lewis) are assigned to the case, uncovering that the medical examiner, Mark Harlow (Stuart Horowitz), had a history of alcoholism and incompetence. This revelation prompts an exhumation, which confirms the child’s skeleton bears signs of repeated trauma. The mother, Madeline (Elizabeth Ashley) eventually faces charges after detectives uncover inconsistencies. While the plot offers a superficially gripping mystery, its execution is hamstrung by predictability and weak forensic logic, rendering the climax more melodramatic than satisfying.
Parallel to the cold case is a subplot involving Detective Bayliss (Kyle Secor), whose personal life becomes the subject of office gossip after his website exploring Buddhism and bisexuality is discovered. Lt. Giardello warns him that his openness about his sexuality risks professional repercussions. Initially defiant, Bayliss relents after Sergeant Fisk (Michael Ford)—a former romantic interest—publicly shuns him in a homophobic outburst. Bayliss then deletes his site, resolving the conflict with unconvincing haste.
Scriptwriter Anya Epstein attempts to justify the episode’s reliance on the cold-case trope through a meta-reference: Josephine claims her determination to reopen the case was inspired by Detective Falsone’s resolution of a 1930s murder in the earlier episode Finnegan’s Wake. This self-aware nod to the show’s own history, however, feels forced and insufficient. The mystery itself is paper-thin, offering only two possible outcomes: either Giardello was initially correct in blaming Josephine, or Madeline is a monstrous child-killer. The script opts for the latter, prioritising melodrama over plausibility. Giardello’s subsequent guilt trip—over his past missteps and familial failures—feels tacked-on, shoehorning emotional beats where none are earned.
The subplot involving Bayliss’s bisexuality, while potentially rich with narrative possibilities, is ultimately handled with a lack of subtlety and depth. Over the course of the series, Bayliss evolved from a relatable rookie serving as the audience’s entry point into the chaotic world of the Homicide Unit, to a caricature of eccentricity. The episode compresses the themes of homophobia and prejudice into a short timeframe, resolving Bayliss’s internal conflict through the overly dramatic act of deleting his website. Furthermore, the subplot is awkwardly linked to the tiresomely romance between Falsone and Detective Ballard (Callie Thorne), a subplot that had overstayed its welcome long before this episode.
Despite its structural flaws, Truth Will Out benefits from strong performances, particularly from Brooke Smith as Josephine and Elizabeth Ashley as the chillingly detached Madeline. The direction is serviceable, though it cannot salvage a script that prioritises emotional manipulation over coherence. The episode’s biggest failing lies in its inability to recapture the show’s earlier ambition. Homicide had once thrived on its willingness to interrogate moral ambiguity and institutional rot without tidy resolutions, but here it settles for melodrama and cliché.
Truth Will Out's attempts to blend mystery, character drama, and social commentary are hampered by weak writing, predictable twists, and a lack of faith in the audience’s patience. While the performances and technical execution hold up, the episode underscores the show’s precipitous decline from a groundbreaking procedural to a tired, formulaic relic. Fans hoping for a fitting finale will find little to satisfy, as the series ends not with a defiant bang but a whimper of missed opportunities.
