Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are two of my favorite TV series of all time. Both were the brainchild of Vince Gilligan and have become true benchmarks for creating a high-quality product for the small screen (which can, of course, be easily appreciated on larger screens). The renewed hype surrounding Gilligan's artistic delusions has already begun, and he's focused on Pluribus, the next TV series he'll write, produce, and most likely direct (at least a few episodes). A trailer has finally been released.
In reality, it's a mysterious preview of what's yet to come. In it, all you can see is a woman (probably a general services employee at some large, important company in some as-yet-unknown industry) licking some donuts in a somewhat "vengeful" manner. This footage doesn't provide any useful information about what will happen in the plot (at least not yet), and little is known about its essence. However, knowing Gilligan, the preview must have some very relevant meaning.
I think the idea behind the "teaser trailer" (so to speak... which feels more like a random TV spot) was to tease the audience, fueling a sense of curiosity and uncertainty about the plot itself (which, at least for me, worked quite well). Narratively, the preview of the material seems to bear Gilligan's own signature in a very natural way (the "strangeness" of a seemingly banal act bringing impact and relevance to much more significant scenes throughout a given event), and that was enough to keep me curious about what I still intend to watch.
As for the plot, all that's officially known so far is that the entire story revolves around the unhappiest person on Earth, who is precisely the person responsible for saving the world from happiness. Pluribus stars the excellent Rhea Seehorn as the protagonist and will air (with a double episode) on Apple+ in September of this year (premiering on the 7th). The mysteries and unpredictability of the events surrounding Gilligan's TV series make me believe that this new venture will be no different, and I'm rooting for the results to be incredible.
The first film I saw by filmmaker Ryan Coogler was Fruitvale Station, an independent film based on a true story, where the director demonstrated his talent for conveying emotions. And it dealt with a subject rooted in his culture. The success of that film took him to the big leagues. He went straight into the Marvel Universe and into Creed, the Rocky heir franchise. Most will know him from Black Panther and Creed, both very successful, profitable and the director is a key part of that success.
I have no doubt that because of the good box office returns from those franchises he was told to make this movie. I think it was almost 100 million greenbacks for Sinners. I had it pending to see and knew very little about it. I thought it would be a thriller with some action and what a surprise I got. Sinners is a film, whose story reminds me of many B-movies I saw in my teens. If you have read some old posts, you know that I love that kind of movies. Only this one has a high budget, recognized actors and a great technical workmanship.
The filmmaker takes a risk and comes out a winner. It is a somewhat unusual proposal and in the hands of someone without his background, any Hollywood major would have refused to make it, because it seems that there are several films in one. There is a gangster atmosphere, it has touches of blackexploitation, western, action movie, vampire horror, historical drama and musical. I understand the naysayers, who have always found this mix a bit grating, but I found it so fascinating, I rate it as one of the best films released by Hollywood this year.
The plot follows twins Smoke and Stack, who return to Mississippi after working for Al Capone in Chicago. They decide to make money with a nightclub for the people of their culture, the African-Americans, for which they will gather excellent musicians, among them their young cousin Sammie, son of an evangelical pastor. A club of sin for everyone to spend money, get drunk and enjoy that moment of freedom, only they did not count that supernatural evil beings will also be seduced by the liberating music, turning the night into a bloody nightmare.
The trailer may sell the film as a vampire horror story, but to me the filmmaker is paying homage to the Blues, a style that has its roots in African-American culture. The music is very important in the film and is something I loved, it was a pleasure every song, every beat. It is here where the composer Ludwig Göransson, in charge of the film's soundtrack, stands out. His arrangements and mix of styles is one of the strengths of the film. There is a mind-blowing sequence, between sounds of the past and the present, in which the director also takes advantage of the moment to stand out visually. At that point in the film I was already completely absorbed in the story. It is not the only sequence that I loved, I also enjoyed the sequence of the vampires dancing to the rhythm of a Celtic folk song.
Music can open doors. It is Sammie's music that attracts Remick, the Irish vampire who tells them that it is their salvation, because they are all dead to society. They have nothing, they can take everything from them when the powerful want it. The KKK has not disappeared, they plan to eliminate them and Remmick offers them salvation. The director includes a social critique and part of the history of his culture, which suffered for a long time from racism and the injustices of the established power. All this under the aura of terror and fantasy. It also has references and inspirations to other stories, from Open to Dawn and the Vampire Chronicles. The director goes all out and wants to put it all in his film.
There is also a lot of sensuality. Anything to do with vampires, deep down, has a sensual overtone. This has been lost a lot in recent Hollywood stories. Good thing the filmmaker has been given free rein and has brought sensuality and sexuality into the story. Recent movies have put me in a very bad mood, stories that all look alike and where the characters don't even fuck. Sex is part of our human nature. As for the cast, everyone is superb. From Michael B Jordan, an actor who has worked many times with the filmmaker. This is his fetish actor. And the rest of the cast, where Jack O Connel stands out as that Irish vampire that I loved.
If you haven't seen it, let yourself get caught by this crazy story. Listen to its music and admire its staging. Watch it and leave me your opinion in the comments.

If you have planned to watch a movie or drama, check out this blog, as this weekend you’ll be hooked on another superhit Pakistani drama. Notably, this is another mega-hit by Danish Taimoor, paired with the highly talented Sara Khan. The drama is currently airing on ARY Channel, with 20 episodes broadcast so far. Fans worldwide are watching due to the top-notch story and commendable chemistry of the star cast, including Atiqa Odho, Sunita Marshall, and Nabeel.
Plot of the Drama
The story revolves around the conflict between two families due to a love marriage, with their rivalry later unfolding over property disputes. Things become messy when two educated individuals with foreign degrees get involved in this clash. Now, you must watch to see if their education will turn the tables or if they will compete in the same manner as their forefathers. Sunita, playing Samra, marries a member of the enemy family with her consent, and they respect her and treat her as a family member. Her sister-in-law, Shah Taj, was engaged to Raees Shah Zaman, who, despite loving her deeply, refused to marry her. Instead, he married twice, and his two wives differ completely in their thinking: one is conservative, less educated, and arrogant, while Tehmina embodies wisdom and grace. Raees Shah Zaman has two daughters and one son, Sher Zaman, played by Danish Taimoor, who is in the spotlight due to his education and humanitarian perspective. Even his blood relations are insincere, making him a direct enemy of his uncle and cousins. Fajar, played by Sara Khan, is a leading lady and psychologist who faces backlash due to one wrong decision. She must repay Sher for saving her dignity. Even her family, particularly her aunt Shah Taj, who cannot stand seeing anyone happy, is against her and serves as the main antagonist.
Acting, Chemistry & Cinematography
Regarding the acting, I wouldn’t hesitate to praise Shah Taj for her dialogue delivery and performance; she has brilliantly portrayed a woman who remains unmarried and lives in her maternal home. Her mindset and jealousy are depicted perfectly. As for Sher’s acting, he has shifted from his previous style, having faced criticism for displaying excessive misogynistic behavior in his last three to four dramas. Now, he has refined his approach. Portraying a psychopath isn’t challenging for such a versatile actor. As for Sara Khan, she needs no words to be appreciated; she is a remarkable actor who seamlessly adapts to each character, and this time, she plays a philanthropic doctor. Overall, the cinematography is outstanding, with the drama filmed in stunning locations.
My First Love for This Drama
As a music enthusiast, I was drawn to this drama primarily because of its OST, sung by Arif Lohar and the Strings band. The blend of folk Punjabi and love-themed lyrics is so captivating that even children are humming the song.

We all belong to families where, amidst love and conflict, war often prevails. The drama’s theme explores how education and emotions can shift outcomes. It also highlights the challenge of balancing professional and family responsibilities calmly, without disappointment. I have high expectations for Fajr and Sher, but I won’t spoil anything. I’ve done my best to summarize the events up to episode 20 without revealing everything. New episodes air every Wednesday and Thursday on ARY Digital at 9 PM and 10 PM on ARY Digital’s official YouTube channel. I rate this drama 9 out of 10. How would you rate Sher?
I recently finished the drama The First Night with the Duke, which I really enjoyed. It's entertaining, fun, and full of romance. Plus, the actor who plays the lead character in the series seems incredible to me, and it's great to see him in a leading role again and not end up sad 😢. I was also motivated to watch it because I really liked the webtoon of the same story, although they changed a lot of things; it's very different, same plot, different approach. Anyway, I hope you give it a chance and like it.
The First Night with the Duke
Based on Hwang Do-tol's web novel, director Lee Woong-hee brings us a fantasy story filled with romance, with a total of 12 episodes, starring Seohyun, Ok Taec-yeon, and Kwon Han-sol.
The story begins when a young college girl, nicknamed K, gets angry because her favorite webtoon is going on hiatus, lashing out at the author. As she falls to the floor, she receives a message saying, "Since you're so cool, why don't you try writing it yourself?" Afterward, she wakes up not as the story's protagonist, but as Cha Seon-chaek, a supporting character who apparently didn't have much relevance to the plot.
Having decided to live a quiet, luxurious life, simply as a spectator of her favorite characters and enjoying their development, however, everything goes to hell when, in a drunken moment, she ends up spending her first night with Duke Lee Beon, the main protagonist of the webtoon. This "accident" will change the course of the entire story she knew, and even if she tries to fix it, it will be impossible, since Lee Beon is already determined to be, I would say, obsessed with her, and will do everything possible to achieve his goal of getting married.
Will our heroine be able to resolve the mistake she made? Or will she decide to take a different path from the original plot?
What I feel stands out most about this k-drama is undoubtedly the charisma of its characters and the eloquence with which the actors interpret them. It feels very fluid and with great chemistry. The story is not innovative, but refreshing and without so many complications, it gets to the point and focuses more than anything on the romantic development. As for the protagonist, I laugh a lot at everything that happened to her and how she always tried to get out of the trouble she got into; despite the fact that the protagonist could feel like a stalker or intense, his background and the way he expresses his feelings make you feel attracted to him in some way.
The other positive point is that they gave their supporting characters their space, and we begin to understand their attitudes and the consequences of their actions. There are also parts that break the fourth wall without forcing it; it feels fluid, which makes it more dynamic and interactive with the audience. Best of all, it has an ending, all very well explained.
Even though I liked this drama, I did feel a lot of divergence from the manwha I read. If I hadn't looked for the story to be the same, I wouldn't have realized both works were based on the same novel. I thought it was another similar plot. Well, it was quite a while ago that I read it, but I did remember the main elements, and now I see why I found such a similarity.
The manwha really seemed more like a one-off to me, not in the original sense, but entertaining, so the drama lacked that same air, but it still has its touch and is fresh, added to the fact that the actors do a good job in how their characters relate to each other, which is why it is worth watching.

The First Night with the Duke
9/10 Historia │ 10/10 Actuaciones │ 9/10 Sonido │ 9.5/10 Escenario │ 9.5/10 General

When I was writing the posts about the first Dune movie, I had already seen the first one and while I am writing this post I have already seen the series Dune: Prophecy and even at night I listen to the audio-book of the first book of the saga (although I always fall asleep before finishing a chapter). But anyway, before going into some aspects of this second Dune movie, as I had said in the previous posts of the movie, that Timothée Chalamet at first did not convince me as an actor or main character, but after having seen the first movie he convinced me since he did a good job, but in Dune: Part Two his acting and interpretative work is phenomenal, especially the speech he had in front of the inhabitants of the planet Arrakis, it was impressive and surprising, which left me wanting to want the third part of this saga to come out.
Dune: Part Two shows us the rise of Paul Atreides and that in the end, he may not be the promised hero of the prophecy, as his actions at the end of the film, although they may be justified by all that was done to his family and clan, show that after he has obtained his "powers" of being able to see various temporal ramifications, his destiny will not be filled with total peace and there will be much war and death. The film begins with Paul trying to gain a foothold among the inhabitants of Arrakis, as the influence of the prophecy spreads across the planet. On the other hand, we also see the head Baron of the Harkonnen family trying to take advantage of the precarious situation in which he left Paul's family, while we are introduced to his nephew, who would be the counterpart and main antagonist of this second film, Feyd-Rautha.
This second film if it could be defined with a serious word "epic" and is that from the beginning we see that things will escalate more and more and the dangers through which our protagonists will have to go through will be higher. Visually it is still a marvel, even better than in the first film, there is much symbolism in the locations inhabited by the Fremen, this time we will see much more elements related to them, but in a certain part of the story, the film changes completely by completely changing the color palette to a black and white to represent the Harkonnen and their planet, making a clear comparison between the "light and darkness" of these two opposing houses: The Atreides and the Harkonnen.
This film focuses more on religious fanaticism and worship towards a supposed messiah, Paul's father has been in charge of spreading the prophecy that indicates that Paul is chosen and because for many years this prophecy is something that has been instilled to the inhabitants of Arrakis, it could be said that it was "easy" for them to believe that Paul will be their savior and that in part he is, but with certain nuances. The music is simply wonderful and maintains the great sound quality of the first film, in fact this time I feel that the music has much more impact since in comparison to the first film, in this second part we will see much more epic moments, which fit perfectly in every situation. At the acting level, other actors like Austin Butler who plays Feyd-Rautha, the nephew of Baron Harkonnen, really is a very intimidating character, creepy and was a good adversary of Paul, although I would have liked to see him more on screen.
I don't remember if I mentioned this in the name post about the first movie, but the costumes in both the first movie and this one are totally impressive and many of the outfits besides representing several things, many others like those of the Harkonnen get to impose quite a lot and in itself, the work on the clothing of the characters feels real, which is a factor that manages to look good on screen and that many movies fail to create adequately.
Dune: Part Two brings with it the myth of the promised hero, but it deepens it to such an extent that in a certain way and in a very explicit way, perhaps this "hero" is not as "white" as it could be created and travels between a scale of grays that in certain moments could be interpreted as a "villain", but under the view of religious fanaticism many do not see it that way. Excellent movie and I am glad to have entered this universe so rich in history and characters.
Hello hello internet people, how are you? This time I bring you a dose of nostalgia with an anime that was part of my childhood and that's why I remember it so fondly, in fact I'm going to make a confession haha Yugi Muto was my first anime crush 😍 😄 I loved his personality, but without further ado let's begin 😉.
Yugi Muto is a lonely and reserved boy who, at a certain point, solves a very special puzzle and, in doing so, undergoes a transformation that gives him a more self-confident personality as he releases the soul of an ancient pharaoh named Yami Yugi, or Atem. From then on, the two duel against monsters using card combinations.
In the afternoons after doing my homework, I remember my happy hour would arrive because it was time to watch Yu-Gi-Oh! I watched it as an anime segment on a children's show called Atomic. I remember how exciting it was to watch the card games and the different combinations that offered a universe of possibilities for victory. When the opposing monsters appeared (which could also be very strong depending on the number of stars they had), I was a little scared, but I was also curious to know what kind of play Yugi would make to defeat them.
I loved the relationship between Yugi and his grandfather, I feel like they both understood each other very well, by the way, I loved that first episode where his grandfather gives him the blue-eyes white dragon card and tells him that there are only 4 like that in the whole world, but Kaiba kidnaps him, I seriously HATED Kaiba with all my strength at that moment, not only because he kidnapped Yugi's grandfather, but because he broke the blue-eyes white dragon card 😱 😡.
I loved the fights and Yugi's transformation into the pharaoh, he changed completely, he seemed more sure of himself and his movements and he transmitted that confidence, I felt that it was impossible to beat him, especially when he said that I should trust the heart of the cards, Hmmm!, although sometimes I think he was cheating a little 😄 However, with each season and despite the fact that the franchise deliberately grew (movies, video games and so on) I lost interest, but watching some episodes now took me back to those years of childhood.
And well, people, that's all for today's post, I hope you liked it. Thank you very much as always for supporting my work, I welcome new readers, I love you all very much, I send you a hug and I'll see you in another post.

Hello everyone, my Otaku friends, I hope you're all doing great today. This time, I want to share a new review with you all. It was about time I told you about one of my favorite romance anime of all time. After a mini-marathon with my girlfriend, I want to talk about the anime: Tsukigakirei. Look, years ago I started watching it thinking, "Well, just another high school romance," maybe a cute one, maybe one I'll forget about tomorrow.. but wow! I mean, it touched me in a totally different way. It connected me directly with that vibe of first love.. but not the super exaggerated drama we sometimes see, but rather that quieter, clumsier, but incredibly strong feeling that you get in middle school or just starting high school. Do you remember that? That shyness when locking eyes with someone felt like winning the lottery? When your head was all messed up and you were just beginning to understand all those new emotions?
Well, Tsukigakirei nails just that... it's about that pure, innocent, kind of clumsy love, the one where holding hands seems like the biggest step in the universe, it's a breath of fresh air because, let's be honest, a lot of what we see today paints love as something super physical from the first minute, or with giant and over-produced gestures... this anime reminds you that, sometimes, the most unique thing is in the little things: trying to understand the other person, putting in the effort together even if you have no idea what you're doing because you've never been in a relationship before, it's about wanting: wanting to walk home together, wanting to share a snack, wanting to simply be close to that person because, somehow, that makes everything better.
This series understands that perfectly and focuses on the beauty of that beginning, of that testing the waters... the vibe is with Kotaro Azumi and Akane Mizuno, they are in third year of high school, around 15 years old, and they just happen to be in the same class together, Kotaro is a super quiet boy, lost in books, loves literature - in fact, he's always quoting a certain Dazai Osamu, which is a brilliant detail - and secretly dreams of being a writer. Akane is also quite shy, although she's the star of the track team, she gets nervous before competing and has one of those stress balls that she squeezes all the time, which seemed super, super real to me and with which I connected immediately.
And here, people, is where realism shines, because look, how they start to get to know each other, it's not the typical magical scene under the cherry trees... Not at all! It's all awkward glances across the room, all really awkward... but what I really liked is how they start talking... on LINE! On the messaging app, it felt SO real, people... think, isn't it a thousand times easier to write what you feel, or even a simple 'hello', than to say it straight out when you're that age, all nervous? There you can think about what to put, send a sticker, the series nails that vibe, it shows you how they write, delete, wait with all the anxiety in the world for the 'read' or 'typing' notification to appear, I swear my stomach was in knots just watching them wait for a reply... and it's not just how they talk, huh?
The whole vibe of the series feels super down-to-earth. You see Kotaro there with his friends, and they're acting like... well, kids their age... kind of dumb, kind of clueless, making silly, age-typical comments about the girls who pass by. It's not super sugar-coated or dramatic. You see Akane worrying about her track and field times, what's up with her next high school, you hear chatter about exams, pressure from older people (Kotaro's mom, for example), the typical gossip between friends about 'who likes who' or 'should I break up with my boyfriend'. And the good thing is that it avoids those parts where the characters suddenly talk to you as if they were 30 years old and philosophers, or those ridiculous misunderstandings that arise because they just heard half a sentence...
The problems they have feel real for kids that age: how to get along with friends, what they will do after school, and how to handle this new and super strong feeling of love, nothing to do with those anime where teenagers solve everything with a maturity that you don't believe, or where everything depends on a force-fed drama. And this realism reaches the protagonists, Kotaro and Akane feel like real kids, they are both basically shy, and the series shows it brilliantly without needing them to tell you everything with an internal monologue all the time, you see it in how they move, in their doubts, when they blush, how they play with every little thing they have in their hands. You, as a viewer, see how they react, what they do, and that's when you realize what's going on in their heads…
Of course, there are other characters too, we have Chinatsu, who is Akane's friend from the track and field club and is kind of more outgoing, more extroverted... there's Takumi Hira, the typical popular guy who also, look out, has his eye on Akane... yes, here comes the typical mess of unrequited love, which makes you say 'uh, how cliché'... the truth is, to be honest, I thought Hira came up a bit short, like the typical 'good-natured rival' and that's it. Chinatsu does have a little more juice, more vibe, especially later on in the story, but here's the change, people: even though these possible rivals are hanging around, the series never loses its way, you understand? It doesn't go off the rails in a tangled and super dramatic love triangle just for the sake of it... the heart of the story remains firmly on Kotaro and Akane, on how they experience that first love, how they find their connection.
The supporting characters and their feelings are there more to, let's say, spice up the main relationship, to highlight the problems and the good things that Kotaro and Akane have, but without stealing the show, you know? They add that layer of 'this could happen in real life', but without overshadowing the main romance... Do you know what else I loved? That it's an original anime! I mean, it's not one of those adaptations that cuts the story in half so you can look for the manga or the novel... no, here they tell you a complete story in 12 episodes... everything they include seems to have a reason, something that contributes to the plot. It builds, develops, and closes... it was a huge pleasure to see something that felt finished, that didn't make me feel like I wasted my time and gave me a really good ending, none of those 'and now go read the manga' endings, pleaseeee, haha okay, let's get to the animation.
Let’s see… at first, especially when there are a lot of people on screen, the CGI can be a little… jarring, let’s say… it’s noticeable, maybe some people won’t like it, but, to be honest, I got used to it pretty quickly… apart from those background scenes, the general look of the series is beautiful. It uses a lot of pastel colors, very soft, which fit the calm, somewhat nostalgic vibe of the story… there are moments, some shots, some specific scenes of Kotaro and Akane that are beautiful, they really move you, the way they focus some conversations, how they use the light… it just works, I don’t know how to explain it… it gives it a kind of fresh air, it’s different from how many other series of this style look, and the way they put the LINE messages on screen is super fluid, very intelligent, it feels like a part of their world, not a cheap trick. Even the texting thing plays a key role in the finale, which... well, I'm not going to spoil anything for you, but I'll tell you it's incredibly sweet, incredibly sweet.
¿Saben qué otra cosa me encantó,?
For me, after watching them grow over those 12 episodes, seeing that positive, if perhaps somewhat idealized, ending was a good thing. It's the kind of ending that makes you smile. So, in short... I loved Tsukigakirei. It's not one of those super-scandalous anime, it doesn't need cheap thrills or fan service to hook you. It's rather laid-back, it sort of observes everything, and it's incredibly sincere. It manages to capture that awkwardness, that tenderness, and that quiet intensity of first love with a realism that, honestly, I haven't seen many other places. The characters are real, their problems are things that can happen to you, and the story gives you a well-rounded experience that wraps up well. The weird CGI in the crowds is just a nice touch; it doesn't take away from how beautiful it is.
So if you’re looking for a romance anime that feels real, sincere, and that will surely remind you of your awkward teenage years (but in a good way, eh!), you have to watch it no matter what… it’s a little gem that I feel went completely unnoticed when it came out, it didn’t get half the attention it deserved, my score: A 9/10, but easy, easy… the realism, how well the characters are done, how it reaches you emotionally and the ending that leaves you happy… it just makes it shine a lot, it’s a small but super special series, so go watch it! Give it a chance! And well, that’s all for today’s review, I hope you liked it, take care! Bye!
Byebye!

This blog is a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. This is another movie that I wanted to watch for quite some time but where the file just didn't work on my old tv and media player. I came accross this one once again on YouTube while watching a yearly poscast at the start of the year where they make a list of the best things they watched the previous year (Link). They had Das Lehrerzimmer ranked at #3 and really managed to sell me on it without spoiling anything. It's only a 1 Hour and 38 Miniute movie which is great and the movie itself got a nomination for best Foreighn Movie in 2024 at the Oscars but didn't win. So I went into this one with good hope that it would be good but no crazy expectations. Das Lehrerzimmer is spoken in German and the English Title is The Teachers' Lounge
Das Lehrerzimmer (7.4/10)
Depending on how you look at this one, you can either see it as a psychological Thriller or as a Satire where the school kind of represents the Society. Especially the ending scene indicates the Satire aspect of the movie which kind of caught me off guard.
The Story
In this movie which almost entirely takes place inside a school, we follow a teacher and it starts off with some kind of incident that happened with a couple studens and the questionable investigation of some teachers to find out what happened. I didn't fully knew where it was going until something relatively smalll happened in the teachers' lounge that involves the main character which quickly spirals out of control.

It was a small but very interesting setup where you first get directed to to question 'who did it' which was followed by the question 'how much evidence is enough'. The movie just showcases classic human behavior that leads to the situation getting to an extreme while it very easily could have been avoided. I thought it was interesting and very much sympathized with the lead character in this journey she went on.
So my brain was teased in a pleasant way while watching this one and I mainly looked at it as a fairly realistic psychological thriller. I didn't really know where they would take it at the end and felt it could be a hit or a miss but I wouls say is was neither as it went in a direction I didn't really expect leaving me mainly with questions. I guess the answer that makes most sense on how to explain it is to see the movie as a satire which satisfied me enough but also didn't blow me away
Spoiler Free Trailer:
So I enjoyed many things about this movie which had an interesting story that makes you think, great Directing, Casting and Acting while taking place in the location of a school. At the same time I also wasn't really blow away by it and I'm not sure that it will stick. If you enjoy Psychological Thrillers and want a shorter movie I certainly can recommend it. A good 7.4/10
Good morning, amazing readers, weebs, and anime lovers, as well as every member of the anime realm community. It's a beautiful day, and what's better than talking about anime with people who love it? While searching for a new anime that's not short, but very interesting, I recall an ongoing anime that I remember. Though I had finished reading the manga, probably that's why I wasn't too interested in continuing the anime, even when I was done with the 6th season and the 7th season was out.
I won't keep you in the dark for too long; the anime is a popular one, many people already know. A Gen Z anime

After I had finished watching the 6th season, the 7th season was taking so much time to be released, so I went to read the manga, which I did not regret. When the 7th season was out, I was happy, but I wanted it to come out in bulk so I could enjoy watching it for a long time.

During the weekend, I saw the download reminder, and then I went ahead to download it. Everything to the last episode, and I can tell you it has been a fun ride. I almost forgot some characters, and the joy of seeing what I read come to life was great.
One thing I love about the new season is that the season delivers some truly spectacular fight scenes, just like it was drawn in the manga; it shows the heroes' creative strategies and the villains' formidable powers. I was so surprised to see the death of Star at the beginning of the season, which made me wonder why the character was introduced in the first place.
I love that the season gives us a backstory of the important character; this is something many anime don't do, they just skip that part in the manga and go straight to the fight scene. The backstories and motivations help the viewers understand the characters more and the reason why they fight, whether the villain or hero, and this added depth to the story.
The backstory of the villain "Toga" made me understand why she turned out that way, but that doesn't give her the right to do what she did. I believe if she was handled carefully and with love, she might not have turned out that way, there would have been a better way to restrict her and train her to use her power for the greater good because she was one of the villains who posed one of the biggest threats to the heroes.
Even while the battle was on, we could see characters evolving and pushing past their limit. This was something that wasn't expected but made the show more emotional, even criminals came to help for a good cause. The season brings back fan-favorite characters, including Gentle Criminal and La Brava, and gives them meaningful moments to shine.
The animation quality varies, with some scenes looking incredible and others feeling flat. I love that there was a new graphics but it just felt like it was there for filler but that doesn't stop the story from becoming a good one.

Immediately I am done with this, I will go watch the anime that @seunruth reviewed and recommended yesterday. She wrote it so well, I just want to watch it.
I will give this season an 8/10 and if you haven't watched MHA, give it a try now, and trust me, you will love it.
Thanks for reading. My name is Fashtioluwa.
Hello everyone! I saw The Amateur starring Rami Malek on Disney+ this weekend. It's a nifty revenge story about a nerdy computer guy working for the CIA who lost his wife to terrorist attack.
Plot
Charlie Heller is a nerdy computer guy working for the CIA as a decoder. One day, his wife was killed in a terrorist attack. He identifies his wife's killer and the group behind them and asks the CIA for justice. However, the CIA was unwilling to apprehend the perpetrators since they are after "bigger game". Charlie decides to go John Wick on his wife's killer and dispense justice himself. How? He blackmails the CIA with some secrets he uncovered not to send the terrorist to heaven but to train him to be able to do it himself.
Cast
image from imdb
There are lot of familiar faces in the cast who I've seen on movies and TV series before.
Rami Malek
The nerdy guy turned John Wick. He can't kill with a gun but he's handy with other stuff. He can Macgyver things to create bombs and use pollen from flowers to poison his victims.
Lawrence Fishburne
He plays yoda to NEO Charlie and taught him the basics of being a CIA field agent.
Rachel Brosnahan
New Lois Lane plays Charlie's wife who got murdered by terrorists.
Jon Bernthal
The Punisher is Charlie's field agent friend in the CIA who helps him later on in the movie.
Holt McCallany
This guy is familiar from the Mindhunter series on Netflix. He plays a CIA supervisor who has some dirty secrets.
My Take on the Movie
The movie is a familiar revenge plot. In fact, it's pretty similar to American Assassin (2017) wherein an inexperienced guy suffers a loss from terrorists and decides he's the next John Wick. Malek is a good actor and he displays grief convincingly. However, you have to suspend your disbelief, grab your popcorn and just enjoy the movie to believe that an inexperienced guy, after only weeks of training was able to evade a veteran CIA agent in the streets of Paris. There was a funny scene where he was picking a lock while watching a youtube video on how to do it, lol. Ok, you're showing he's an amateur but it could have been executed better. Why not show him practicing at home first and failing many times before he was able to master it? It would have been more convincing that way. Anyway, this was a new movie on Disney+ and it has its fun moments. Grab your favorite movie snack and watch it if you have nothing better to do.

The algorithm I use to watch movies always sends me somewhat old movies, but that's okay, I hadn't seen them before. I remember the actors, and that's why I get hooked. I confess that I'm not a big fan of new movies. I don't like that everything is done by computer now, and I don't know, I think there's not much time for love and romance; it's all drama and action.
The algorithm showed me this movie: Eat, Pray, Love, starring Julia Roberts. I've been a fan of hers since Pretty Woman and then in the role of Erin Brockovich. Wow! She's great, and so are all the other movies I've seen her in, which I would definitely watch again.
Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth tells us her life story as a first-person narrator in the movie, her story of how she came to Cambodia, her failures in love, and her disastrous life. She was searching for herself through spirituality, and a wise old man, through divination, warns her that she will lose everything in terms of relationships and positions, that she will have two relationships, one long and one short, but that she will recover them later, only if she regains control of her life and balance. Deborah went in search of answers, and the wise man gave her an amulet on the condition that she return healthy and perfect, insisting that she listen to the voice of her heart.
Elizabeth is in a relationship at that time, but she is going through an existential crisis with her partner, who seems very cold and does not take her into account. Elizabeth was no longer sure about her relationship and decided to leave...
We women, before making the decision to break up a relationship, give many chances. We go through a period of mourning even while still living with the person, we pray, we talk to God, we ask for enlightenment to make the painful decision and change our lives by choosing ourselves.

English version
It is terrible to feel trapped in a relationship without love, without a future, without feeling a real home, without feeling secure and emotionally stable in every aspect.
This is what led the protagonist to ask for a divorce, she goes on a trip; with a haggard face, with the depression of someone who has ended a relationship of years.
While we are in that process we seek refuge in things, some fall into vices, others start meaningless empty relationships and others turn to friendships, this was the case of Elizabeth, she went to a friends house, soon she started to get in the way, she heard how her friends plan and give their opinion about her life, so she leaves and seeks refuge in other things, going out, having fun and empty relationships, which could have become something more but she was not ready. Fleeting romances... Although they share things in common such as spirituality, marital breakdown is at the surface.
The man after getting married and feeling that the relationship is stable, often stops attending to the relationship as he did in the courtship, this cools and kills the relationship slowly, usually the woman is moving away in silence, falling out of love little by little until she no longer gives more opportunities or expect more. When the man reacts it is too late. If there is something I agree with Elizabeth is that, during all this process: Meditating helps.

Elizabeth in her bachelorhood went through what I went through, I felt unable to love someone again, to fall in love, to be interested in someone again and for that interest to survive more than two weeks, something makes us think that our heart is occupied by something. Personally, I found that "something" and it is called: Fear.
In the end the protagonist did as I did, she gave herself time to heal, she looked for herself, she worked on her self-love and learned to believe in herself, she worked on her spirituality, she learned that self-love is a feeling that can fulfill and make us happy, that can make us see that we are capable of giving it as well as receiving it.
The scholar gave her many prophecies that were fulfilled in her life, it was beautiful to see the change in her, to see her reconnect with herself, with life, to smile again. In marriage we can get lost in attending to the other and when we are unhappy we lose our balance, we get confused, we don't know what to do, the reconnection period can take years.

Recomendada 5/5

This film will make you cry, Julia's performance was exquisite and revealing, the soundtrack is sublime, the script has an interesting proposal that leads us to reflection, the photography, the scenery is fantastic because they are real, natural spaces.
The story makes us reflect on the way we lead our lives and our relationships, how much we give ourselves until we forget ourselves, how much we have disappointed ourselves, our recovery process begins with the awakening when we want a change, Our recovery process begins with waking up when we want a change, forgiving ourselves for the mistakes we have made and allowing love to bloom again within us, above all not getting stuck in failure, continue living with a good attitude, connected with God, our spirituality, faith, letting everything flow while we work on regaining trust, love, forgiveness, each step is taken with firmness.
Even when we break a relationship or a relationship breaks up, we can still love, this movie teaches us that letting go is a great step to healing and that regardless of how terrible the breakup or relationship may have been, sending light and love to that person who shared so much time with us is the best thing to do.
I am still in Elizabeth's process, it inspires me to believe in love again, God lives within us and accepts us as we are, allow him to work, allow yourself to live and smile.
There is no need to complicate life, if everything boils down to one thing: to be happy. Inner peace and mental health is very important, we can summarize it in: Eat, pray and love

Written by: Howard Weinstein
Directed by: Bill Reed
Running Time: 22 minutes
The Star Trek: Animated Series, often overlooked in discussions of the franchise’s canon, marked a pivotal shift toward engaging younger audiences, suggesting that the future of Star Trek lay in the hands of emerging generations. Nowhere is this ethos more evident than in The Pirates of Orion, the season-two premiere that epitomises the show’s ambition to revitalise the franchise with fresh, youthful energy. At its heart lies the groundbreaking achievement of Howard Weinstein, the episode’s writer, who at just 19 years old became the youngest credited Star Trek writer in history—a record he still holds today. This episode, a triumph of audacious storytelling, underscores how the Animated Series leveraged its unconventional approach to redefine the boundaries of science fiction entertainment.
Weinstein’s journey to Star Trek fandom began during his middle school years, where he became captivated by the original series. His passion led him to craft a Star Trek-themed story for his school newspaper, which he later adapted into a teleplay. Demonstrating remarkable tenacity, he submitted his work to Gene Roddenberry’s production team. To his delight, not only was the script accepted, but it was also chosen to open the second season—a decision that validated his vision and cemented his place in franchise lore. The episode’s origin story is a testament to the power of fan creativity, proving that even the youngest voices could shape the narrative of a beloved universe.
The plot of The Pirates of Orion unfolds with the USS Enterprise en route to Deneb V for ceremonial duties when the crew encounters choriocytosis, an infectious disease. While easily treatable for humans, the ailment proves lethal for Vulcans due to their copper-based blood. Spock, infected during the mission, faces imminent death unless treated with strobolin, a rare drug. The nearest supply is aboard the Federation freighter SS Huron, which the Enterprise is due to rendezvous with. However, the Huron is ambushed by an Orion vessel, which steals its cargo of dilithium crystals and strobolin. After rescuing survivors, Kirk pursues the Orions to an asteroid belt, where he engages in a tactical game of cat-and-mouse. The Orion captain, aware of his inferiority to the Enterprise, negotiates a deceptive truce: he agrees to provide strobolin in exchange for immunity, but his true aim is to destroy both ships to avoid exposing Orion’s violation of neutrality with the Federation. Kirk’s crew uncovers the ruse, foils the plan, and saves Spock.
The episode dismantles the reductive portrayal of Orions as mere exotic, scantily clad women—a trope entrenched in earlier Star Trek episodes. Instead, Weinstein’s script elevates them as formidable adversaries, showcasing their cunning intellect and strategic prowess. This nuanced depiction builds on their earlier introduction in The Original Series’ Journey to Babel, where they were hinted at as politically complex figures. Here, they emerge as multidimensional antagonists, challenging the audience to see beyond superficial stereotypes. Their portrayal as calculating pirates underscores the Animated Series’ willingness to expand the franchise’s mythos while respecting its roots.
Weinstein’s narrative exhibits razor-sharp pacing, avoiding unnecessary subplots to focus on a taut, suspenseful core. The script mirrors the tension of The Original Series’ Balance of Terror, where the Romulans’ perspective deepened the stakes. Similarly, The Pirates of Orion grants the Orion captain agency, framing the conflict as a clash of wits between two leaders—Kirk and his counterpart. This structure amplifies the episode’s dramatic weight, as both sides manipulate circumstances to survive. The blend of action and moral ambiguity creates a gripping narrative that rewards close attention, a hallmark of the Animated Series’ ambitious storytelling.
The episode’s production history reveals the behind-the-scenes challenges of the Animated Series. Directed by Bill Reed, who replaced Hal Sutherland after season one, The Pirates of Orion suffered from Filmation’s cost-cutting measures. Despite Reed’s involvement, the end credits retained Sutherland’s name, perpetuating confusion among viewers.
For Weinstein, The Pirates of Orion was a career-defining moment. Though he did not write additional screenplays for the franchise, his success paved the way for a prolific career in Star Trek literature and comics. His ability to transform a school project into a canonical episode exemplifies the Animated Series’ ethos of nurturing new talent. The episode itself remains a beacon of the franchise’s potential to evolve, proving that innovation and youth could coexist with the legacy of Gene Roddenberry’s vision.
