I had watched all the previous Fantastic Four movies before watching First Steps, so I was familiar with the story of the Fantastic Four and was ready to enjoy the new MCU version of the story.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps was a lot different from the previous Fantastic Four movies. First Steps gives you the backstory of how the Fantastic Four got their powers within the first few minutes, then gets right into the action.

First steps is just a good old-fashioned superhero adventure movie. You don't have to worry about knowing anything about any other Marvel movies. They don't waste a lot of time showing you how much the heroes sucked before they got superpowers. They get the powers, they beat up monsters, and people love the heroes from the start of the movie.

My honest opinion of the movie as a whole was that it was pretty mid. But understadibally mid. There wasn't a lot about the movie that I hated, but the movie ultimately felt like a setup for Avengers: Doomsday. There were some things that they did well in the movie, but nothing that was big-time over-the-top amazing.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps was just a solid superhero adventure story. It wasn't as fun to watch as the Fantastic Four movies of the early 2000s, but still entertaining in its own dramatic way. They kept things pretty conservative in the MCU version.

They seemed to keep the story a lot more consistent with the comics, unlike the 2015 version of the Fantastic Four, which wasn't a great movie at all. First Steps is set in the 60s, so a lot of the tech in the movie has a 60s look to it, but works in a futuristic way, which is pretty cool. But some of the solutions they come up with seemed like the story was written with the imagination of a 12-year-old at times.

The main bad guy of the movie, Galactus, is WAY cooler than the version of Galactus you see in Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer made in 2007. The Visual of Galactus is probably the coolest thing about the movie.

The heroes in First Steps use their powers in cool ways throughout the movie and have good team chemistry. Mr. Fantastic's stretch is used more as a power than as a gimmick compared to previous movies. The Thing seems a lot stronger in this movie. The Human Torch is always cool because fire is cool. And The Invisible Woman is badass in First Steps compared to any other version of the character.

The Silver Surfer looks way better in First Steps, and looks cool in movement, but I still enjoyed the Rise Of The Silver Surfer version of the character a little more than this one. They're both super strong characters, and I like that they gave us her backstory with this version of the Silver Surfer, but the Rise of the Silver Surfer version of the character was just more interesting in a mysterious way, in my opinion.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps wasn't what I was expecting going into it, but still not a bad movie. It was a little more dramatic than I thought it would be, and felt like Marvel needed to introduce these characters before they put Avengers: Doomsday out. There are a lot of cool aspects to the movie and things they did better in comparison to previous Fantastic Four movies, but nothing that made the movie amazing. Originally a film is divided into two genres, Comedy and Tragedy. A comedy is a light hearted movie that brings you to laugh and leaves you with joy, while a tragedy is the opposite, brings you to tears and leaves your heart heavy. There are also actors who excel in each genre, for the comedy we have greats like Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams. Then there are actors who excel in tragedies too like Leonardo Di Carpio, Janes Dean and Robin Williams... If one were to ask me to categorize this movie I'm about to review, I wouldn't be able to appropriately place it, for as the biggest actor in the movie isn't bound by silly categories, so is this movie a mixture of them both✨

To be honest, I entered this movie with an open mind, almost like I do all my movies gotten from Instagram. When the decision to watch a movie is made from a single clip, and no further investigation of it was made, you can't be strongly biased about it. Hence I went in like a blank page, and no how, in no way could I guess the themes I would come across in this movie, or how strong these themes would make themselves shown.

- Passion.

This is one theme of the movie. Some might say it's the major theme of the film. John Keaton brought this to his bored and dark eyed classroom of boys. Lads that have been used to thick books, dead sounding teachers and the smell of chalk. This passion changed their way of learning, changed their mindset and changed themselves. We see the passion light up as they went for the poetry meetings. We see it as they're tearing out pages of books and scribbling down their own poems, on the acting and pursuing of arts that they love and we see it as they love. We see the passion in the boys and the boys see the passion everywhere

- Growth

With this passion comes growth. We see the boys change in order to accumulate and use this passion. The timeline for the movie is just a semester so there's not much physical growth, but mentally the boys have moved up rapidly. They now think more, not with their minds but with their hearts. They now feel and have more empathy and appreciation for the littlest of things.

- Neglect.

This was the most shocking of themes, and it's what made the show a tragedy. The growth has started for the children, yet how willing is the childs environment to accept that growth? How open are the parents or the child's circumstances to that sudden burst of passion? If there is no love for the passion, what would the child do? This theme is what made it a tragedy, one can't blame the child nor the parents, yet people would always throw blame, and the blame would end somewhere. The child, parents, school, students, teacher. For the source of passion, it's denomination is determining by what the passion creates in the end time. Is it good or bad, such a tag is determined by its result. Alas passion is just passion, and poetry is just poetry, but this movie is gold, a straight 10 out of 10 I'm not a poetry fan, but I just might join the Dead Poets Society.

There was a strong wave of independent and incredible arthouse cinema that came out of nowhere during the 2010s, primarily from an unexpected Mainland China. These films were focused on various aspects of life within China, often roaming around the industrial zones, within the chaotic small cities coated in snow and harsh rains. Perfect locations for crime dramas that explored broken characters within even more broken surroundings. I absolutely loved discovering these films, and that itch remains as it appears most of those directors simply disappeared. Some became propaganda pieces for the government and made Covid related films that showcased the strength of the nation during its difficult time, others just sort of fell off and haven't made anything since. Bi Gan coming back with Resurrection sometime this year after quite a hiatus from directing. Though Dong Yue is a director that came and went, again one of those propaganda pieces for the Chinese government after making quite a name for himself with The Looming Storm. And this film remains one of my favourites.

Primarily for its directing style, one that heavily influenced me and my photography pursuits. Finding fascination in unlikely settings to tell stories where otherwise they are neglected. Remote locations being the centrepiece for horrific crimes that go unsolved. Reminding me quite a bit of Korea's Memories of Murder film which remains one of the more powerful films of Asian cinema to this date. We tend to think of remote areas as generally safer, with cities being where the crime is. Dong Yue's directing relied on very wide angle focal lengths but still utilised depth within them, sometimes shooting a bit more wide open and having characters interact with the foreground and background. Other times, more depth within the shot to tell the story of the environment, one dark and polluted. A place that certainly would be compared with death and decay by the more natural means. Where large pipes and smoke stacks scatter across the landscape. Its narrative is one that explores that rural anxiety, however. Where the suspicion arises given the clear evidence that the killer is someone within the area, likely working in one of the main factories. And through this the story explores a more obsessive protagonist as he begins to lose his own sanity constantly chasing people and seeing things in the heavy downpours that mask the small city both in night and day. Solving this killing spree also becoming his identity, and this is something that comes into question much earlier in the film when he meets a woman that directly asks him what his ambitions are, and whether he has any intent on doing something with his life; to his defence, claiming that he's content. Though clearly not. I liked that there's this hidden figure running around performing the killings, and we see very little of what's going on in that sense. To the point where our own protagonist chases someone through a factory, dressed almost identically as him throughout the film. No clear indications to signify someone that stands out.

Again, from a directing and cinematography perspective, everything is built around this depressing, dark landscape. Set in the late 1990s, the film really holds that look of tech slowly growing but the decay and economic struggles that come with constant attempts at industrialism. Where the victims aren't just those killed, but those struggling to survive in such an environment in the first place. And this is where we see what the film is truly about; not the killings and solving them. Not the developments of the protagonist himself, but more a film that speaks on the changing landscapes of China, and how those in such areas only know of the suffering. The killing being more a reason for our protagonist to end up in such an environment and start seeing it for himself.

It may be a bit of a confusing film in some regards. But it's one that is truly unique, and no surprise that there aren't a whole lot of films that came about after it in a similar style. After all, such films were still critical of the government and how things were performing even in the past. Some managed to skip by censors by only releasing abroad, others had big changes to their stories. But the main message still gets across. The Looming Storm really is about a looming storm, one that brings over socio-economic struggle. The changes of culture and ideology. The loss of colour in life in pursuit of something new.

Shades of Grey (S07E10)

The world has undeniably evolved over five years, yet some wounds fester with stubborn persistence. Shades of Grey, the episode of Homicide: Life on the Street’s final season, underscores this grim truth. Set in 1999, it revisits the Baltimore Homicide Unit at a crossroads, tasked with investigating a case that echoes the racial tensions of its past. A bus driver’s death, initially perceived as racially motivated, spirals into a potential race riot, mirroring the societal fractures that have haunted the city—and the show—for decades. The episode’s narrative arc loops back to themes first explored in the series’ second season, suggesting that progress is an illusion when systemic inequities remain unaddressed.

Five years prior, in 1994’s See No Evil and Black and Blue, Homicide dissected the fallout of a police killing of a Black man, exposing the corrosive impact of racial bias on public trust. Shades of Grey resurrects this framework, framing a new incident through the same lens. While the plot diverges—this time involving a white bus driver’s accidental death—the parallels are striking. Characters like Officer Hellriegel, whose complicity in past police misconduct resurfaces, tethers the episode to its roots. This deliberate callback underscores the cyclical nature of racial strife, suggesting that institutions and individuals alike are trapped in patterns of repetition.

The catalyst for chaos is a mundane yet incendiary moment on a Baltimore Transit Authority bus. Patrick McCusker, a white driver with little empathy for his predominantly Black passengers, becomes distracted by two young men—a Jamaican immigrant and an African American resident—engaged in a boombox showdown. The clash, while trivial, distracts McCusker long enough to send him careening into Marletta Manley, a Black woman crossing the street. The crowd, already simmering with distrust, assumes the collision was intentional. McCusker is beaten to death, and the bus is vandalised, sparking riots.

The Homicide Unit arrives to find two tragedies: McCusker’s corpse and the body of Paxton Smart, a Jamaican drug dealer killed nearby. Smart’s death links to Hellriegel, whose history of brutality and cover-ups makes him a prime suspect. Detectives Lewis and Shepard uncover a police uniform button at the scene, pointing to Hellriegel’s involvement. Yet, securing a conviction hinges on Desmond Clements (Chuck Jeffreys), a witness whose testimony requires navigating a fraught negotiation. Clements’ violent retaliation against Shepard—a brutal beating that leaves her hospitalised—and the theft of her gun add layers of personal stakes. While Lewis’ ultimatum to the Jamaican community to return the weapon succeeds, the episode’s resolution feels rushed, prioritising procedural closure over emotional depth.

The episode’s most compelling tension emerges in its interrogation of racial dynamics. Detective Garty, a white officer, insists the incident was racially motivated, while Mike Giardello, a Black FBI agent with academic credentials, argues the truth is murkier. Their debate mirrors broader societal divides: Garty’s visceral reactions versus Giardello’s analytical detachment. The investigation ultimately reveals the tragedy’s accidental origins—Marletta’s fatal misstep stemmed from her unfamiliarity with left-hand driving in her native Jamaica—not racial malice. Yet the riots and Hellriegel’s actions prove that context matters more than intent. By the episode’s end, both detectives concede that race both obscured and amplified the tragedy, a nuanced acknowledgment of how systemic issues warp individual actions.

Writer T.J. English crafts a script that balances empathy with unflinching realism. The episode avoids moralising, instead presenting a mosaic of perspectives: the bus passengers’ rage, the detectives’ ideological clashes, and even Marletta’s self-blame. The Black community’s internal divisions—between Jamaican immigrants and native African Americans—add another layer, illustrating that prejudice transcends racial binaries. The resolution, while tidy, retains complexity: a corrupt cop is exposed, a witness testifies, and the stolen gun is returned. Yet Lewis’ frustration over leniency for Clements—whose testimony secures Hellriegel’s downfall—hints at unresolved tensions.

The episode’s greatest weakness is its overcrowded narrative. Too many threads—Hellriegel’s motives, Shepard’s subplot, the Jamaican drug trade—compete for attention, forcing key details into clunky exposition. Hellriegel’s backstory, crucial to his actions, is summarised in dialogue rather than shown, weakening the emotional stakes. Similarly, Shepard’s injury and the stolen gun feel gratuitous, likely an attempt to justify her character’s presence after fan backlash over the casting of fashion model Michael Michele. While her hospital scene underscores her resilience, it strains credibility and distracts from the central racial themes.

Despite its flaws, Shades of Grey resonates with startling relevance. Its closing scene—a perp walk of three Black men and Hellriegel, cuffed together for public television—symbolises the episode’s hopeful but fragile vision of justice transcending race. Colonel Barnfather’s pragmatic gesture, though cynical, diffuses tension by showcasing accountability. Yet, in today's era of social media tribalism and viral injustices, such unity feels distant. The phrase “No justice, no peace,” coined in the episode, now echoes through protests over modern police brutality, underscoring how little has changed.

Shades of Grey is a flawed but vital episode, a testament to Homicide’s enduring sharpness in dissecting societal rot. Its ambition occasionally overwhelms its runtime, yet its exploration of racial nuance and institutional failure remains unmatched. The Homicide Unit’s journey—from confrontation to uneasy resolution—reflects a world still grappling with the same cycles of violence and misunderstanding. While the show’s era may feel distant, its themes are alarmingly contemporary, a reminder that progress requires more than hope—it demands structural change. In an age where social media amplifies division rather than resolution, the episode’s perp walk feels like a relic of a time when public accountability, however imperfect, could still unite a fractured city. Today, that unity seems further away than ever.

Si me lo preguntas no puedo decir que no es una película que no recomiende pero creo que en comparación a la primera sí la verdad es que es un estilo completamente distinto que ahora está enfocado mucho en la acción en la comedia a veces tiene un poco de ciencia ficción de género de espías y ese es un gran problema que tiene un poco de todo pero no termina calzándose de alguna manera y esta combinación de estilos más que enriquecerá la película termina siendo bastante extraña, algo curioso Es que casi imposible no compararla con Terminator 2 recordemos que Terminator 1 justamente una película de una máquina asesina y en la segunda esta máquina asesina pasa a apoyarles, algo así termina de pasar en esta película pero con un humor que no terminas de hacerte reír del todo y una trama que intenta parecer muy compleja pero termina la verdad siendo más simple y hasta cierto punto ridícula de lo que parece.

If you ask me, I can't say that it's a movie I wouldn't recommend, but I think that compared to the first one, it's true that it's a completely different style that now focuses a lot on action and comedy, sometimes with a bit of science fiction and spy genre, and that's a big problem because it has a bit of everything but doesn't quite fit together, and this combination of styles, rather than enriching the movie, ends up being quite strange. something curious. It's almost impossible not to compare it to Terminator 2. Remember that Terminator 1 was a movie about a killer machine, and in the second one, this killer machine ends up supporting them. Something like that happens in this movie, but with humor that doesn't quite make you laugh and a plot that tries to seem very complex but ends up being simpler and, to a certain extent, more ridiculous than it seems.

Pero como estaba diciendo durante esta review no creo que sea una mala película simplemente es una película extraña que si te gustó la primera tal vez dar una oportunidad a esta o si simplemente eres fan de las películas raras tal vez te pueda llegar a gustar o simplemente entretener creo que el mayor fallo que tiene la película como lo que sería algo de plenamente entretenimiento es creo que la duración porque es lo que hace que la película se sienta tan larga y por momentos bastante aburrida, creo que si la película broda 10 o 20 minutos menos la verdad le hubiera hecho un gran favor porque la verdad es que no tenía necesidad de desarrollar tanto una trama que al fin y al cabo no llega a nada pero eso sí el personaje de megan sigue siendo bastante encantador te sigues encariñando mucho más con ella en especial que ahora tiene mucha más interacciones y Bueno eso sí es un gran punto positivo la película así que si te volviste fan del personaje en la primera película o de pana quieres saber mucho más de digamos que este universo de películas creo que te puede llegar a gustar, solamente recomendaría no tener las expectativas tan altas con esta segunda entrega en especial Si estás planeando ver algo de terror o de suspenso porque no es de esta forma literalmente es una película de acción que mezcla bastante humor.

But as I was saying during this review, I don't think it's a bad movie, it's just a strange movie that if you liked the first one, you might want to give this one a chance, or if you're just a fan of weird movies, you might end up liking it or simply finding it entertaining. I think the biggest flaw the movie has, in terms of pure entertainment, is its length, because that's what makes the movie feel so long and, at times, quite boring. I think if the movie were 10 or 20 minutes shorter, it would have been a great favor because the truth is that there was no need to develop a plot that, in the end, doesn't lead anywhere. However, Megan's character is still quite charming, and you grow even more fond of her, especially now that she has a lot more interactions. Well, that's a big plus for the movie, so if you became a fan of the character in the first film or you really want to know more about this universe of films, I think you might like it. I would just recommend not having such high expectations for this second installment, especially if you're planning to watch something scary or suspenseful, because it's not like that. It's literally an action movie with a lot of humor mixed in.

I've come across this clip multiple times on tiktok, about a woman whose soul isn't light as a feather. At first I had some deep self reflection and considerations of my actions. But I was curious to know what the movie talks about.

Imagine if eternity was real, there's heaven and hell where do you think your soul will go?

Have you ever stumbled upon a show that didn’t just entertain you but haunted your thoughts, echoed in your dreams, and made you question the very fabric of the world around you? That was my experience with American Gods. I didn’t go looking for it—it found me.

If you haven't watched it or maybe don't even know about it or even you have watched it, this review is for you.

It began with a casual conversation at a coffee shop. A friend leaned over her latte and whispered, “If mythology met modern madness, it would be American Gods. You’ll love it.” That sentence lingered with me like a spell. But I forgot about it by the end of the day. I was so busy with work that I forgot to even search up for it. But as months went by, it followed me, the clip found me just scrolling through Tiktok.” That sealed it. I knew I had to watch.

I wasn’t just curious, I was pulled in by an unseen force. And the moment I hit play, I realized I wasn’t just watching a show. I was stepping into a myth, into a world layered with symbolism, shadows, and strange truths.

At its most basic level, American Gods is the story of an ex-convict named Shadow Moon who is released and then finds out that his wife had been killed in a car accident. He is a lost and empty man who is recruited by mysterious and charming man Mr. Wednesday. It is a road trip all right, but it is a road trip like never before, not made of asphalt, but belief.

The series is an ancient conflict between the old gods, or those ancient gods that were worshipped by immigrants who brought them to the other side of the ocean, and the new gods, who were created by our obsession with technology, media and capitalism. It is a metaphor of what we choose to hold onto, what we would cast away, how we build our world through belief, whatever God we choose to believe in, Thor or TikTok.

The most intriguing thing to me was that the characters were not ordinary people, but ideas in human bodies. Mr. Wednesday (brilliantly played by Ian McShane) is not just a con man, but a god of war and wisdom, Odin, who is trying to find a place in the world where people are forgetting all about him. And then there is Technical Boy, a bratty god of social media, algorithms and addiction. And Media, who transforms itself now into Lucille Ball, now into David Bowie, according to what we are watching.

Even the character of Shadow Moon, who starts the story as a lost and uncertain person, turns out to be a reflection to the audience. We do not only see the gods through his eyes, but we confront them. Should we believe in them? Do they feed upon our worship--or do they take advantage of it?

The series is hypnotic to look at. All its frames are bathed in metaphor. You do not only observe a scene, you experience it. It is not the rain falling but the rain that baptizes. The blood does not only flow, it sings. You see a scene of an ordinary conversation in a motel room and the next minute you are in some abstract realm that seems more real than the real world that you just left.


It has a Lynchian quality, lives bled into one another, the weird made homelike and the homelike made horrifying. and at the center of it all, one, thumping question: What do you believe in?

The scenes of American Gods forced me to face the silent performances that I did not even suspect I had. I was on my phone scrolling? That’s worship. Verifying likes, retweets and notifications? Modern-day prayers. The series leaves you wondering whether there is a question as to who the gods of today are, given that the gods exist based on the belief of people.

It reminded me of my grandmother who would bless a cup of water and then would murmur to herself a blessing before drinking it. All actions were sacred to her. That respect is dying in our quicker, digital era. We have substituted the streams with music and prayer with playlists.

And perhaps that is what American Gods are trying to show us, that despite being convinced that we no longer hold a belief in something, belief has not ceased to influence us.

Why did I go on watching? I cannot say that I was horrified by the blood spills and the betrayals that took place in the movie. It was the silent moments when Mr. Nancy (Orlando Jones) narrated the tale of African slaves in chains, his voice full of truth and anger; the cynical eyes of an embittered leprechaun Mad Sweeney who lost his fortune and his self; or the time when Shadow Moon stares at the heavens and wonders whether he ever had a choice.

American Gods isn’t an easy watch. It’s layered, chaotic, sometimes even confusing. But that’s exactly what makes it beautiful. It refuses to hand you meaning on a silver platter. Instead, it beckons you to dig, to feel, to confront.

American Gods may drive you nuts in case you are the type of human being who likes things simple. However, when you enjoy not only stories (which have a way of shifting your point of view) but stories that unfold gradually, like an old prophecy, then this series is just a gold mine.

Gods are not the only point; it is we. Our demons, our gods, our realities and our fictions. It puts the mirror in front of the society and challenges us not to see the surface.

And perhaps, perhaps, it can tell us that there is still magic out there; it only needs us to be courageous enough to believe it.

In the end, American Gods didn’t just entertain me—it awakened something. It made me realize that belief is power. Not just in religion or gods, but in ourselves, in others, in the stories we tell. And that sometimes, the most divine thing you can do is look at the world with wonder again.

So if you’re ready to question everything you’ve ever worshipped—watch it. But be warned: you may not walk away the same.

I have just finished watching the movie Happy Gilmore 2, which is the second part, or sequel, of the Happy Gilmore movie that came out in the 90s. In this, we get to see a story set many years after the original movie, where Gilmore has several children who have grown up. However, he has given up playing golf due to an incident. Because of that same incident, his financial condition has become very bad. He is unable to educate his children properly. But his daughter wants to attend a ballet school in London, for which $300,000 is needed, forcing him to play golf out of necessity.

Story

The man who was a hero in the 90s, extremely good at his game, like Sachin Tendulkar himself, can he, after so many years when he is almost old, beat the young players or not? That’s what you have to see in this movie. And how much money he wins, what happens—that’s all you need to watch.

Speaking of the movie’s story, the story is decent. Honestly, I didn’t find any major flaws in the story. I was wondering why they even made a second part. I don’t know if it was necessary or not. And that Netflix formula of just remaking old movies creates a bit of doubt about whether these movies were really needed or not. But as I watched the movie, it sparked my interest, and by the end, I wanted our hero to win. For this reason, it doesn’t feel like the movie was made forcefully or that it wasn’t needed. So, the story is decent.

Talking about comedy, since comedy is a big factor in this movie, it’s a comedy movie. The comedy doesn’t work in most places. It works in a few spots. They definitely try to make you laugh in some places, but it doesn’t have much impact. Still, the comedy works in some parts. It might work for those watching new comedy movies for the first time. But for those who have seen a lot of comedy movies, the comedy won’t work much.

But that doesn’t mean the movie is bad. If I were to simply define this movie, it’s a feel-good movie. It feels good to watch. From the beginning to the end, you stay hooked to the movie. You enjoy watching every single thing. When our hero loses, you feel angry. When he starts winning, you feel good, and you want him to win the game by the end, which is a good thing.

De que serían capaces por llevar a cabo una venganza? - a manera de juego fantasioso a veces me hago la pregunta y la verdad es que la respuesta no es nada clara ya que es imposible saber cómo vamos a reaccionar ante un determinado suceso. Pues de esto va más o menos la historia de este film, como un hombre con unas capacidades bien específicas lleva a cabo una operación a gran escala para dar con los culpables de un hecho determinado. Esta es una película con un elenco bien interesante y una trama un tanto repetida pero que de igual forma no deja de sorprender ni entretener al espectador.

Charlie Heller (Rami Malek) es un hombre con unas habilidades impresionantes, es un decodificador de datos, un criptógrafo que trabaja para la CIA. Es un trabajo en donde las emociones no son el fuerte pero como es bueno en lo que hace se mantiene en el. Un día su vida da un giro de 180 grados y es que en un atentado terrorista en Londres su esposa es asesinada lo cual lo deja profundamente tocado y con unas ansias muy grandes de que se haga justicia a toda costa. Desesperado le pide a sus superiores en la agencia que se dispongan a dar con los culpables pero ellos dan muchas vueltas y no parece que tengan las mejores ganas de actuar.

Heller es un tipo extremadamente inteligente, muy por encima de la media por lo que es capaz de prever o anticiparse a los movimientos de los demás lo que le hizo darse cuenta de que nadie haría nada por lo que él mismo se dispuso a dar caza con los hombres tras aquel atentado. A partir de acá veremos todo el camino que toma Charlie, uno bastante peligroso, en donde pondrá al límite sus capacidades mentales y obviamente físicas. La venganza es el motor principal de la trama, el dolor por sentirse culpable por la pérdida de alguien puede ser el detonante para buscar hacer cosas que es un momento determinado eran impensadas pero que ahora parece que son las únicas soluciones.

La trama en si es bastante simple porque desde el principio dejan bien claro el lado en el que estarán todos los protagonistas, no hay cabida para los plot twist y eso es algo que lamento que pase, al no haber muchas sorpresas todo se hace lineal y predecible. Estoy seguro de que al comenzar a ver el film van a saber como terminará todo. Esto no quiere decir que la historia sea mala, no lo es. El fin máximo de la película es entretener y The Amateur lo consigue porque Heller no es el personaje convencional buscando matar a todos a punta de golpes y disparos, descubrir que plan se va idear para darle de bajas a estas personas es lo valioso del film.

Es una película de espías y de conspiraciones pero la acción no es el plato principal, lo es la intriga. Es lo que siempre pasa cuando se involucran cargos muy altos de la CIA, dan pie a que cosas turbias pasen por debajo de la mesa. Ahora, algo de esto puede ser remotamente creíble? - no niego que pasen cosas raras en las altas esferas de los gobiernos pero que un hombre solo y únicamente con su laptop busque dar de baja a una organización criminal puede ser considerado un poco de ficción. Pero bueno, estas películas no están hechas para ser realistas sino para fantasear y pasar el tiempo.

A parte de Malek, quien por cierto creo que lo hace bastante decente, tenemos a Laurence Fishburne, Jon Bernthal, Michael Stuhlbarg, Julianne Nicholson, etc. Todos grandes actores que le dan un poco más de vida a este drama. En fin, es una buena película, diferente a la acción de la que estamos acostumbrados y que creo que se disfruta mucho. Le doy un 7.5/10. Dura poco más de dos horas pero vale la pena verla, es muy entretenida y atrapante. Les dejo el tráiler por acá.

Recently I watched an amazing anime movie Summer Wars, directed by Mamoru Hosoda.‎The movie’s story revolves around a cyber attack that occurs on a virtual network OZ where a family comes together to deal with the threat. ‎The summer atmosphere of the story, watching fireworks while wearing Yukata, and the warmth of the family all in all, it was a memorable anime experience that I watched and it was nice to share it with you.

The main character of Summer Wars is Kenji Koiso, a humble and talented high school student with a knack for math. He spends his summer vacation with his older brother Natsuki Shinohara and surprisingly ends up at his family residence. Natsuki introduces him to the family as her pretend boyfriend.The scene in this anime where the whole family is sitting on the roof watching the fireworks is one of the most touching scenes in this anime.In this scene, it is a deep portrayal of this summer festival; it is the laughter, the myths, the food and the smiles on all the people's faces as they get to spend time together.

In Summer Wars, summer festival setting is so lively and recreates the feeling just like in the real life.‎The Yukata (Japanese traditional clothing) is worn by the entire family, cooking of home cooked food is done, and the courtyard is lit with decorations and lights.‎So young or old all laugh and play about and talk. Next is the grand finale one it is the bursting of colorful fireworks in the night sky.‎The scene of these fireworks resembles the stop-time ceasefire, a driving force, which holds the family together. ‎‎The anime focuses on coziness of summer, socialization and little traditional games as well. The hustle, bustle, excitement, and emotion invoked at the festival makes us feel that we are in that courtyard as well!

When I first saw Summer War, I thought it was a science fiction story based on future technology. However, as I watched the story further, I realized that it is actually a rather emotional story about family, connection, and the power of human relationships.I also love the fireworks scene.On the one hand, the entire world is going through an era of technological catastrophe, and on the other hand, one of these daily fireworks brings lasting peace and love to the entire family.
