I don't get as much time to watch movies as I used to. With all the hustle and bustle of work and life, I don't even realize how the week passes. But when I get some free time during the holidays, I spend time checking out the movie list—what's new, what's the rating, who's in which movie, etc.
That's how I came across the trailer of Karate Kid Legends (2025) a few days ago. What caught my eye the most in the trailer was Jackie Chan! Yes, that Jackie Chan, whose movies I grew up watching, whose action, comedy, and human emotion made me fall in love with movies. I decided then and there, that I had to watch this movie no matter what. Today, the office ended a little early. I didn't delay any longer when I got home, I sat down to watch Karate Kid Legends straight away. And believe me, in the first 10 minutes, that old nostalgia, that familiar Jackie Chan love came back.
For those who haven't seen it yet, I'll give spoilers about the movie's plot here.
The story of this movie starts out simple but gradually becomes much deeper. The main character of the movie is Li Fong (Ben Wang), a Chinese-American teenager who lives with his family in New York. He is very angry inside—about his identity, his place in society, and his relationship with his father. This boy's life suddenly faces danger—a dangerous gang targets him because he once made a mistake and insulted them.
In this situation, he had two options—one was to run away, the other was to find the courage within himself and stand up. And this is where our familiar guru Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enters. He teaches Li how to control his anger, how mental strength and patience are more important than physical strength.
Although Li initially does not pay much attention to Han's teachings, he gradually understands that the biggest battle of his life is not outside, but inside. And he must win this battle. Then the two of them started training together—in full Karate style, starting with carrying water with a bucket and increasing focus, control, and stamina through small tasks. Watching these parts, I remembered the 2010 movie The Karate Kid, where Jackie Chan trained Dre in exactly this style.
Another twist in the story came when Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) appeared. Daniel and Mr. Han began a great friendship and mutual respect. The two of them helped Li build from different sides—Han taught self-control, and Daniel taught him to confidently establish his own position.
In the end, Li faced the gang that he had insulted before. But this time he didn’t run away, he stood up. Leaving his fear, anger, and weakness behind, he fought to the very end. This part was very emotional, because it wasn’t just a fight, but a fight for self-confidence. Li didn’t just win by fighting, he won by defeating his inner fear. When Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio stand together in the final scene and watch Li's success, it brings tears to my eyes. Two generations of Karate Masters, two legendary characters—giving the strength to a new generation to move forward. And that is the true Karate Spirit.
So those who haven't seen it yet, why are you delaying? Let's watch this movie about family. And those who have seen it, let me know what you think.
I am always happy whenever I watch captivating movies. I don't care much about the genres or where it’s acted… So far, it makes sense. I am watching it. I have channeled more of my interest into movies based on true-life stories. This is because I have the opportunity to pick up one or two details from the film.
I have once been a fan of Bollywood. Though I might strive to understand what the movie is all about in the first hour or 30 minutes of the film. Especially with those that have intermissions. It's always difficult to switch. If I am not struggling with intermissions, then I am struggling with fast forwarding the dance sessions.
Except for Amir Khan movies, I noticed he acts so uniquely and differently from the movies he has produced. Amitabh Bachchan isn’t bad either. But I prefer Amir Khan's.
I have watched this movie for a long time now. But while checking on my old files on my system, I came across it again. Oooh, My Drisham. I had to give it a rewatch just to recall what happened in the movie and what made me get so hooked on the storyline.
Drisham
Drisham is a 2015 Bollywood movie. Its duration ran for about 2 hours and 43 minutes. Its genre was based on crime and thriller. It also has a second part that was released later on in 2022.
This was one of the aspects that made me almost lose interest in the movie. The distance between the movie and the next release was too long. I almost forgot I even watched the first part or what happened in it. 7 years was too far. Though they claimed that the coronavirus was a part of the reason for the long delay. It’s still way better than some other movies that the other parts never even surfaced again.
Plot
Vijay, a businessman who got married and has two daughters, Anju and Anu. He wasn’t often home with his family due to the nature of his business. Then one day, one of his daughters, Anju, the eldest, became a victim of sexual harassment by one of the guys in the camp.
Sam, the culprit of the act, went ahead, threatening Anju and her mother, Nnandini, with the sex tape. He agreed that until Nnadini had sex with him, he would erase the clip. While Anju was trying to knock the phone away from him, she mistakenly hit him with a rod, and that became the cause of his death.
Both of them quickly buried Sam in the yard of the house to cover up the crime. Sam happened to be the son of the inspector of police. This means the case could not be erased that easily. They began an investigation about Sam's whereabouts and led them down to Vijay's home.
Vijay, upon hearing about the case, already switched the scenes and painted another picture of the incident on the face of his family and made them resist any form of pressure that might come from the police.
Anu, the youngest daughter, couldn’t bear it anymore, so she confessed the case and revealed where Sam was buried. The police dug and found the carcass of a cow in the soil. The investigation furthered. But it all proved abortive as there was no solid evidence that could prove they actually did the crime.
When the movie was about to end, they showed a scene where Vijay was coming out of an incomplete police station with a shovel and was seen by a drunkard on the street. Does that mean Vijay buried Sam beneath the police station?
Conclusion and ratings
The actors did an impressive job, and it was actually suspenseful with the way you get to think about what will happen next. The storyline was also worth it. So if I am to rank the movie on a scale of 10, I will give it an 8.5/10 rating.
I wonder if I'm the only one asking this question, isn't it the most convenient plot in the world? LOL. Like nothing says "we're not even trying" like this plot. Why do the main rivals always have to meet in the finals?
Why can't they meet in the semifinals, half way into the tournament, or even on the very first fight? Yeah, look at that, why can't their fight be in the opening round?
I think that's something that needs to be worked on in these tournament movies. I think all the tournament movies I can remember went this exact way. The hero and the villain joins a tournament and the always meet in the finals for the last clash. Why? All the movies from all the old kung fu movies, to Van Damme's old movies, and now all the Karate Kid movies. Why?
Maybe the first few movies about a fight tournament could be tolerated to go this way, but after the first few the writers are supposed to wrap it up and make a rule that it is too convenient and that rivals should never meet in the final anymore. Like that should have become the number 1 don't. But here we are...
I get the reasoning behind it, though, the final is the most important match and a lot more is at stake, adding that to the rivalry between the hero and villain comes together to heighten the climax as much as they can manage.
But the climax would not always be less if it isn't a match as important as the final, they can work some other plot into the whole thing to make a match that isn't the final still be a huge climax. Or they can make a good reason why the two guys can't meet until a final. Like maybe make the two guys to be from different districts and have to win in their districts and the two winners from each district would meet in a final.
Easy peasy, isn't it? Enough of the applause, you're too kind.
🎊 🎊
This new Karate Kid was a good watch, though. It was lovely seeing how they wove La Russo, Mr Miyagi, and the absolute Legend Jackie Chan into the whole thing.
I also love how the hero became a teacher at first trying to help someone else win a boxing match, that was unexpected and a nice twist to throw at us while we were thinking the movie would be too easy and straightforward and simply become all about the tournament the hero would fight.
I'm also a huge fan of martial arts and good choreography and this movie delivered for me.
Why Do There Always Gotta be a Fancy Kick?
This is something that should have been an issue for me, because all the Karate Kid movies have been about that one kick that ends the match. It was supposed to be cliche but in this movie the kick was no joke at all, it was some very interesting, complicated and absolutely cool kick.
That plus the fact that it now seems like part of the lore that has to continue, especially if they can keep coming up with ovation worthy kicks like that. Great stuff!

Running Time: 44 minutes
Season 7 of Homicide: Life on the Street struggled to recapture the grit and nuance that defined its earlier seasons, even when attempting to address past missteps. One such instance is the episode Red, Red Wine, which revisits the theme of domestic terrorism—a subject mishandled in a prior season—but falters under the weight of melodrama and forced subplots. While the episode demonstrates growth in its portrayal of federal involvement in crises, its execution remains uneven, revealing the series’ declining confidence in balancing procedural rigor with human drama.
The episode directly contrasts For God and Country (Season 4), a crossover with Law & Order that depicted a mass terrorist attack in New York and Baltimore without acknowledging federal agencies’ involvement—a glaring oversight given the scale of the threat. Red, Red Wine rectifies this by introducing a plausible federal response to a suspected bioterrorism incident. However, the episode’s resolution is undermined by its reliance on clichés and strained character dynamics, suggesting that Season 7’s attempts to self-correct often faltered beneath its ambition.
The plot revolves around a series of mysterious deaths linked to a toxin called phosphozine, traced to contaminated wine. Unlike For God and Country, the federal government’s presence here is both professional and deeply personal: Lt. Giardello must defer to his estranged son, FBI Agent Mike Giardello, who leads the task force. This father-son rivalry, while initially intriguing, descends into predictable clashes over authority and transparency. Mike’s insistence on secrecy clashes with Lt. Giardello’s belief in public disclosure, culminating in the lieutenant leaking details to a reporter—a choice that feels more like a cheap soap opera trope than a meaningful exploration of ethical dilemmas.
The episode’s central mystery unfolds competently enough: Dr. Griscom’s discovery of phosphozine in victims’ systems leads detectives to a disgruntled truck driver, Wally Flynn (played by Pat Hingle), terminally ill with cancer and seeking infamy. Yet the path to this revelation is littered with missteps. Gerald Alberto (played by Charlie Deppish), a dishevelled ex-truck driver obsessed with dissecting corpses, is introduced as a red herring. The casting of veteran actor Pat Hingle in the role of Flynn—a frequent trope in crime dramas to signal a villain’s imminence—renders the twist all but inevitable. Even novice viewers will sense the true culprit long before the resolution, stripping the plot of its intended tension.
Credit is due to the direction and performances, particularly Olivia Birkelund as FBI Agent Myra Seeling, whose calm professionalism contrasts sharply with the Giardellos’ volatility. The episode also offers a more realistic depiction of federal-local collaboration than its predecessor—a theme that would resonate post-9/11. However, the father-son subplot overshadows these strengths. Their jurisdictional feud, while plausible in theory, strains credibility. Lt. Giardello’s petulance and Mike’s rigid adherence to protocol feel less like character flaws than narrative devices to fuel conflict. The result is a distraction from the episode’s central question: how institutions respond to existential threats.
The episode further dilutes its focus with intrusive romantic subplots. Detective Falsone’s attempts to court Detective Ballard, coupled with Ballard’s subsequent irritation at gossip, add little beyond cringe-worthy awkwardness. Meanwhile, Munch’s subplot—where he recounts a botched tryst with a waitress Billie Lou that leaves him “medically embarrassed”—descends into unnecessary vulgarity. These threads, while perhaps attempting to humanise the characters, instead feel intrusive, as if the writers feared viewers might forget that cops have personal lives. Such moments underscore Season 7’s tendency to prioritise superficial drama over meaningful storytelling.
Amid the clutter, Munch’s lone contribution—a conspiracy-minded rant against vaccines—proves unexpectedly insightful. Early in the episode, he dismisses flu shots as tools of corporate-government collusion, a stance widely mocked in the 1990s. Yet the series unwittingly foreshadows a cultural shift: decades later, vaccine hesitancy would gain mainstream traction, amplified by distrust in institutions. Munch’s quirk, usually a humorous footnote, here becomes an eerie harbinger of societal divisions—a rare instance where the show’s eccentricities transcend mere character quirks.
Red, Red Wine exemplifies Season 7’s paradoxical strengths and weaknesses: it addresses past shortcomings with plausible federal involvement and introduces nuanced themes like bioterrorism, yet it undermines itself with melodramatic interpersonal squabbles and extraneous subplots. While not without merit, it ultimately reinforces the notion that Homicide’s golden era had already passed by its final seasons.

I’ve watched some questionable movie openings in my life, but Jurassic World Rebirth really said, “Let’s break the record for dumbest possible setup.” 🤣Picture this: a state of the art dinosaur facility, backed by billion dollar tech, run by scientists and engineers who are supposed to be the best in the world and the entire system collapses because a Snickers candy bar gets stuck in a vent.
A Snickers bar, folks. Not even a meteor, not a dinosaur attack, not a major hacking scandal. Just a chocolate bar that blocks a fan, overheats a system, and causes a complete shutdown of the facility’s security. Apparently, someone forgot to invest in air filters or, you know, common sense.
This kind of writing makes you want to pause the movie and double check if you’ve accidentally tuned into a parody. I couldn’t suspend the disbelief I had to suspend my patience. The original Jurassic Park used clever scientific theories, chaos theory, and real world tech concepts to make things feel plausible. This movie throws all that out the window and replaces it with snack related sabotage. I guess the real villain wasn’t man’s hubris or nature’s fury it was caramel 🙂
Let’s move on to the core of the movie the family unit. Or as I like to call them: “the most insufferable group of people to ever survive a dinosaur outbreak.”
The older daughter walks around like the world owes her something. She’s constantly rolling her eyes, arguing with her dad, and acting like she’s got everything figured out. Spoiler: she doesn’t. She’s the type of character who would walk into a restricted zone, get chased by a dinosaur, and then blame someone else.
The boyfriend is as bland as unbuttered toast. His only role in the film seems to be delivering bad jokes, messing things up, and acting confused about every situation. I honestly thought he might be comic relief but the only joke was his existence. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a gem of a person but manh he’s clueless.
And the younger sister? I don’t even know where to begin. She’s this Dora the Explorer wannabe child who thinks she’s smarter than everyone, talks in riddles, and wanders off every five minutes like she’s looking for clues.
The dad is the only remotely grounded character in this disaster. He’s just trying to keep his family alive while silently wondering what bad karma landed him with this crew. You can see it in his eyes that desperate, tired look of a man who regrets saying yes to this situation.
Let’s talk about the cast, starting with Scarlett Johansson, who plays a corporate liaison or scientist or field leader or something. Honestly, the movie doesn’t seem to know either. Her character is one of those vaguely competent types who pops in and out of scenes giving exposition and the occasional pep talk. She does what she can with what she’s given, but let’s be real even she seems bored.
She’s not bad. But she’s not memorable. The script gives her little room to show range, and the movie seems confused about whether she’s the lead, a side character, or just another name to throw on the poster. The rest of the cast are generic disaster movie cutouts: there’s the greedy CEO, the security guy who obviously dies early, and the rest of the security squad ai don’t seem to recall or even want to. You’ve seen these people before in better movies.
No one is given real depth or purpose, and it makes it hard to care about any of them. They’re just there to move the plot forward, or worse, stall it with pointless conversations about “family legacy” or “learning from our mistakes” while dinosaurs are presumably on a lunch break somewhere.
WHERE. ARE. THE. DINOSAURS.
I cannot stress this enough this is a Jurassic movie. A dinosaur movie. A movie where I paid good money to watch prehistoric creatures stomp around, fight each other, chase humans, and generally do cool dino things. And yet, Jurassic World Rebirth somehow managed to sideline the very thing the franchise is built on.
What we get instead is over an hour of human drama, family therapy sessions, and random arguments. When the dinosaurs do appear, it’s like the movie remembers, “Oh yeah, we should probably show them off, huh?” and then tosses in a few CGI scene for five - ten seconds before cutting back to someone crying about their childhood trauma.
I didn’t come here to watch people talk about their feelings, I came to see a T-Rex bite a helicopter. Where’s the creativity ? Where’s the thrill ? The original movies gave us unforgettable scenes like the raptors in the kitchen, the first Brachiosaurus reveal, the T-Rex escape. This movie gives us.. uhmm a Titanosaurus grazing peacefully in the background while people admire it.
The Only Thing It Got Right: The Visuals
Okay, I’ll admit it Jurassic World Rebirth does look good but again only in a big screen. The CGI is solid, the dinosaurs (When They Show Up) look fantastic, and the environments are beautifully rendered. There’s a nighttime jungle scene that had some genuinely atmospheric lighting, and a brief underwater sequence that felt immersive and well designed.
The problem is that all this visual polish is wrapped around a script that feels like it was written by an AI trained only on soap operas and bad fanfiction. Good graphics can only take you so far. Without a strong story, believable characters, or any sense of tension or wonder, all that visual spectacle goes to waste.
It’s like buying a luxury car with no engine shiny, impressive, but ultimately useless.
Comparing It to the Classics: A Massive Step Backward
The saddest part of all this is how far the franchise has fallen. The original Jurassic Park wasn’t just about dinosaurs, it was about the danger of playing god, the unpredictability of nature, and the thrill of discovery. Even Jurassic World (The First One) gave us a fun twist with the genetically modified Indominus Rex and some genuinely cool action.
Rebirth, on the other hand, feels like it was made by people who watched a recap of the old movies on YouTube and decided they could do it better. Spoiler: they couldn’t 😂
It has none of the heart, none of the tension, and none of the magic that made this franchise iconic. Instead, it’s a forgettable, formulaic mess that feels like a straight to streaming knockoff rather than a proper instalment in the Jurassic legacy.
Final Thoughts: Just Let This Franchise Go Extinct
There’s no way around it Jurassic World Rebirth is a bad movie. Not just disappointing, not just underwhelming bad. It wastes it’s cast, wastes its concept, and worst of all, wastes the dinosaurs. It’s the kind of film that makes you question how so many talented people can come together and still end up with something this hollow.
If you’re a fan of the franchise, skip this one and rewatch the classics. If you’re just here for dinosaur action, you’ll be better off watching a documentary or booting up Ark And if you do decide to watch it, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
At least now we know the real extinction level event wasn’t the asteroid, it was this script 🤣

Have A Great Day!
So for the past two weeks I've been pretty occupied. Guess what has been keeping me busy lately? Well, you tried, but nope, you are wrong. If someone had told me that I'm a movie freak before now, I would have argued my lungs out with that person like, "Why would you call me that?" So I'm here to clear the air that I'm a movie freak.
I still can't believe what happened recently, so this particular movie isn't like a new movie, though. It's been flying around for quite a while, but back then, I wasn't interested in watching it. You can say I was taking my time; that is right. I was scrolling down the different movie options popping up on my notification bar, where I found myself scrolling through all and looking for the right one that would suit my mood. Then I came across this one, "Money Heist." I know it's a very popular movie; the guys would know it more.
My intention was to try season one episode one and see where it leads. To my greatest surprise, it led me to watching all six seasons in less than a month. "Like, who does that?" I don't think it was even up to three weeks. Now I'm exaggerating, though.
The Plot
"Money Heist," the movie, tells the story of different unusual robbers who are being wanted by the nation coming together to rob one of the biggest banks in the nation.
The robbery is being led by the professor, who stays in the outside world in a basement, monitoring the activities at the bank while the robbery is going on and giving his gang every clue to carry the operation smoothly.
My Review
I didn't give a proper plot because the movie possessed a lot of plot twists that couldn't be fixed in a single plot. I know I'm kind of late to the party because Money Heist has been there before, so why am I just seeing it now? I think I will answer this question when I'm alone with my thoughts.
Firstly, Money Heist is one of the best series I've ever seen. For the fact that it deals with mind games, it takes someone with a lot of courage who has been through those books, flipping every page and picking out the perfect points that will best suit every situation.
There is one thing that is so exciting about this movie: I didn't get bored while watching it because it kept me on the edge of my seat, imagining what would happen next. Often I would see something coming, but before you know it, something had happened that would turn the whole table around. The movie is so unpredictable.
The plot twists are epic, and talking about the gang members, they are so real. Currently, I'm feeling like it's believable and unbelievable at the same time. Its realistic nature gave me goosebumps at every point.
And the mind behind the heist, "the professor." The strategies and plans used by the professor gave me the most goosebumps because he had the heist planned beforehand. And the professor has a classroom where he teaches his gang members on the next moves to make in case things go astray.
I loved all the cast, they did an incredible job in bringing this series to life, and my favourites are "Tokyo and Nairaobi." These women will make you fall in love with them.
In conclusion: the movie is amazing. I'm gonna rate it a 10/10. Images are screenshots from my phone
Hello everyone, my anime fanatic friends, I hope you're all feeling great today. Today I want to talk about a rather strange anime, and to be honest, I don't quite understand its creation... today I'll tell you my opinions on the series: Suicide Squad Isekai, seriously, when they announced it, my brain was like... what? The Suicide Squad? In an anime? And on top of that, transported to a fantasy world? It sounded totally crazy and, I don't know, like it could turn out to be something good. A part of me was excited, thinking about everything they could do, but another part was like: "Oh, I hope it's not something horrible." Like a somewhat measured optimism, but with a fear that I can't even tell you about, well, in the end I got the courage, I watched the episodes that are there, and... I have A TON of things to say, I need to get this off my chest. First, let's talk about the visuals, because it's crazy. The Suicide Squad itself? They look incredible, really, the way they adapted Harley, Deadshot, Clayface, Peacemaker... even Amanda Waller!... to that anime style is... perfect, it has a great aesthetic, very well done.
Harley looks spectacular, it captures all her chaotic vibe but fits perfectly into the anime look, I'll be honest, seeing her design was easy, and Clayface! How they reimagined him is really super cool, much more dynamic than the typical 'giant mud man'... even the Joker's look, who appears a little at the beginning, is a pretty interesting stylized version. If you put, I don't know, comic book panels or scenes from the Harley Quinn series next to the anime versions of these characters, you realize that they really hit the nail on the head with the adaptation of the main team, you can tell that they put a lot of effort and love into making the Squad look good in this format. It feels fresh but you recognize it immediately, BUT... and this is a big but, people... everything else? Where do they fall into the isekai world? Ugh. It's... ugly. I mean, ugly. I don't know how else to put it, it seems like there was no clear art direction, just a weird and chaotic mix of medieval fantasy stuff, futuristic technological devices that are not even relevant, and magical elements, all thrown into a blender and nothing fits!
It's like they couldn't decide on a style and just threw everything in, the colors often feel clashing, too bright, almost garish in some parts... honestly, it really freaked me out at times, it makes it look kind of weird, you know? Like they designed the characters really cool and then just slapped on a generic fantasy background with stuff no one else wanted... it feels like they didn't put much faith in the world building part... it doesn't look coherent, it's just... hard to watch, really.. don't even get me started on some of the creature designs, like those half-pig, half-orc soldiers... they just look super weird and pointless! Almost like something out of a low-budget mobile game or one of those weird adult animations you stumble across... the point is, the world itself is a HUGE visual disappointment compared to the character designs... the anime is ugly, but the Squadron looks great, it's a super strange contrast.
Well, we already saw that the visuals are a bit weird, but what's up with the story and the vibe? Let's see, let's be honest, nobody expected the great philosophical story here with the Suicide Squad in another world, we already knew what we were going for, the vibe is pure action comedy, with a lot of dark humor, somewhat similar to the Harley Quinn animated series - which makes sense, because she's like the protagonist here too, and that series fits the tone perfectly... yes, it delivers on that, almost always, it's funny, there are jokes that are good scattered throughout, moments that did make me laugh or at least smile. Some phrases are quite sharp, really, they did capture that cynical vibe of the Squad... it's not that you're going to die laughing every time, but it does have its jokes and it doesn't take itself super seriously, which is the best they could do, if you're just looking to have a fun time without thinking too much about it, then it can work...
And the action? yes there is, you won’t get bored waiting for something to happen, almost every chapter has its fair share of fights, explosions and mayhem… and the animation in those parts? This is where WIT Studio really shines… but only sometimes, there are moments, like a specific scene in chapter 3, that are simply brutal!: dynamic, fluid, very fast, where they don’t put in that much fine detail, but they give it their all in the movement that excites you… it looks incredible! It’s that type of super energetic animation that turns you on, BUT… remember when I told you that the visuals were all kinds of mixed?
The quality of the animation is inconsistent, and it’s really jarring, one chapter can look great, with well-choreographed action, and the next feels… more tacky… I mean, you can tell they put less effort or less money into it, the drawings sometimes look kind of deformed or like they’re not the character, you know? And the action doesn't seem to hit that hard... it really seems like different teams, or maybe different directors worked on different episodes, and the quality control just wasn't even even... they even reuse background characters without any shame, like those guards that you see literally copied and pasted several times in the scenes with a lot of people... it's one of those things that screams 'there was no budget!' or 'they did it in a hurry!' and the truth is, it does throw you off.
But anyway, let’s get to the important thing: the Squadron, which is the reason why we’re watching this thing, their personalities, are mostly well done, and that’s a good thing because I think that’s the best thing the series has, Harley is crazy as always, unpredictable and that’s how it should be! King Shark is adorable, but he destroys you, the perfect combination, Peacemaker has some really cool moments that are funny but also kind of sad, showing his completely twisted ideology… they do feel like the characters we already know and (sometimes) love, it’s just that they were thrown into this weird fantasy world, and seeing how they react to the elves and the orcs, well, it has its joke, it’s funny in itself… my only “but” here, maybe… and this is something I’ve seen others comment on too: is that they feel… too good? you know?
I mean, yeah, they're violent and cause a mess, but they quickly go too far into the 'good guy antihero' vibe... they're supposed to be super villains, dangerous criminals who are forced to work, aside from Harley and Peacemaker, who do have their own weird moral code, the rest of them don't seem to really feel bad or bad. I feel like there was a bit of a missed opportunity to explore that dark side and the friction within the team. Maybe they played it safe so the audience would support them without feeling so bad... which, okay, makes sense so more people would like it, but for me as a DC fan I feel like it kind of takes away from the idea of the 'Suicide Squad'. And well, while the Squad does have its vibe, what about the characters from the isekai world?
A total disaster, seriously, they are the exact mold of the generic fantasy character... boring, flat, you forget them in a second, there is a princess around who seems to want to put some effort into it to have some depth, but in the end it just feels like an excuse for the plot, meaningless and even stupid, none of the knights there, nor the soldiers, nor the bad guys mattered a bit to me... they are only there to advance the story or for the Squadron to save them or split their tangerine... their designs are just as ugly and boring as their personalities, really... and it's a shame, because they are given a ton of screen time and they are supposed to be key to the main problem, but they just make everything feel heavy every time the camera moves away from the Squadron... you spend your time just waiting for Harley or Deadshot to come out again and for him to get good again, because those people really are insufferable, haha, at least they adapted that classic isekai thing well haha.
So yeah, the show is kind of fun, the action sort of saves the day (when the animation isn't crappy), the Squad is pretty great most of the time... but does the story really hook you in? Does it leave you wanting to be like 'oh shit, I want to see what's next!'? Well, honestly, no... at least not for me... beyond the 'Suicide Squad in another world' joke, the plot itself, with the kingdom, the war that you already know is going to happen, the obvious betrayals, the generic fantasy politics... the truth is that I couldn't bring myself to care much... it feels like any other stupid cookie-cutter isekai plot that's been around a thousand times before, except with DC characters thrown in. Since the world isn't compelling and the characters there are so average, there's nothing to really keep you hooked beyond 'what crazy thing is Harley going to do next?' or 'how is Deadshot going to shoot his way out of this?'... it doesn't give you that addictive feeling of 'Oh my God, I NEED the next episode NOW!' that good shows have... it entertains you while you're watching, perfect for turning off your brain, but it really doesn't stick with you after the credits roll.
And that leaves me wondering... who is this show really for? It’s a really weird mix… sometimes the series literally stops for a character (almost always Clayface, who is suddenly made into an isekai otaku, which felt kind of forced) to explain basic isekai stuff to you, like what an isekai is, or how certain things in the fantasy world work, almost as if they were talking to you as if you were an idiot, it seems like they’re explaining things in a nutshell to people who have never seen anime, maybe casual DC fans who saw the movies and got curious… but then, why hire an anime studio as pro as WIT if you don’t trust that the people who do watch anime will understand what the genre is about? It feels kind of cynical, like Warner Bros. just slapped "Suicide Squad" and "Isekai" together because they're buzzwords, trying to cover a lot of ground but not really making anyone happy... trying to pull the anime camp together with the studio and style, and the DC camp together with the characters and leading them by the hand, only to have it all feel awkward and shallow for both sides.
Here's the bottom line? Suicide Squad Isekai isn't horrible... it's not the disaster I half feared, it's a weird, half-disordered experiment that sort of... worked halfway... as they say, 'it passed without pain or glory'... there are sparks of fun and even very good things: the anime designs of the Squad are cool, some action moments are brutal when they put money into the animation, the general chaotic energy that suits the team, but it's always weighed down by the horrible world design, the animation quality that is inconsistent and frustrating a lot, the main plot that you forget in a second and the secondary characters of the fantasy world are flatter than a board... I would probably give it maybe... a 6.5/10... it's like entertaining junk food: it tastes good while you eat it, it fills your stomach, but it doesn't nourish you and you forget it quickly, I'm kind of glad I saw it just for the novelty of 'what the hell is this?', but the truth is I don't care if they make a sequel or not, I'm fine with it Anyway... well, that's all for today. We'll see you in the next reviews. Take care! Bye!
Byebye!

This blog is a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. The ratings that I give are fully based on my personal preference and enjoyment at the time of watching and I'm writing spoiler-free reviews. I first heard about this movie only a couple of months ago when a YouTube Video named "This Movie CURED My Low Attention Span" which I only watched for a minute before kind of knowing this movie was something for me so I avoided all spoilers aside from knowing the basic plot and the fact that this movie is well over 3 Hours Long. Ever since I have been wanting to watch it and tried to find the perfect timing for it and Sunday was that day. I really went into this one with high expectations and the intention to fully watch it in one session without allowing myself to get distracted. It made this into a movie experience unlike any other and I absolutely loved it. This movie I would say is very devisive in that you either experience it as a 3 Hour+ long torture or you think it's an absolute mastepiece!
Fun Fact is that there is a famous top 250 Ranking of Films (Sight and Sound List) where only Cineasts are able to vote on which is made every 10 Years. Last time this happened was in 2022 and the #1 ranked movie on that list is actually Jeanne Dielman 23 Quai Du Commerce 1080 Bruxelles.
Jeanne Dielman 23 Quai Du Commerce 1080 Bruxelles (8.9/10)
Very early on in the movie you get a sense of what you can expect and why this movie is so long as you get to fixed cameras that film a housewife doing chores and going through her daily routine. The movie spans over 3 days and each of the scenes tend to be quite long. This makes it so that you can easily take a bathroom break without the need to put it on pauze or the fear to have missed out on anything. If she's cooking, you can be sure it takes a while and she still will be cooking when you are back. At the same time, it's also not taken to the extreme I would say and at least for me it never was boring.
The visuals are also beatiful since it's a fixed camera stand the director managed to make each scene a work of art that just really looked nice and where everything was in the perfect place. It's a movie from the 70s and you really get that time machine feeling of being there. The fixed camera angles also kind of make you feel like a voyeur especially early on in the scene where she is taking a bath.
Things I Loved About This Movie
#1 How My Brain Reacted
I went into this one with the best mindest of making it an experience and fully embracing it for 3+ Hours which was the best thing I could have done. It took me places where I didn't expect it to take me and bring a ton of joy from just many small things. Some Examples...
As it's filmed with fixed camera angles mainly in a small house, you quickly have seen all the different rooms. However, a bit furter in the film all of a sudden, one of the rooms is filmed from a different angle. This small thing however gave so much joy and I started wanting more which the film also gave.
There was also a scene where she was doing the dishes putting the plates that were cleaned on the side. One of them still had some soap bubbles on them. I was thinking to myself, 'if it were me I would redo that one' and sure enough a minute later she took the plate and washed it again.
On day 1 she also went out to do some shopping passing by different stores but the camera just filmed the outside why I really wanted to see what the inside looked like. This is exactly what they gave in day 2 and again one of those small things that gave a tremenous feeling of joy since your sensories are so deprived by that point
There are some other things in the movie where my mind made some wild predictions what would happen but I'm not going to go into any spoilers. In a world where everything is 5 seconds attention span with quick cuts & zooms, this movie is the perfect antidote.
#2 The Relatable Main Theme
I would say many things and themes can be seen in this movie but as someone who is quite fond of having routines, I mainly related to the idea of how they kind of help to get some sense of control and reduced anxiety. This while at the same time they can also drive you crazy. I would say solitude is also one of the themes. However, the entire feminism, & women in the 70s kind of passed by me also because she was a widow and chose to keep up with the housewife routine.
#3 This Movie Makes You Feel Great About Your Own Life!
Right now, we live in a world of social media where I would say everything is fake and everyone pretends to be happy having this great life all of the time. It's easy to believe everything that you see and it kind of makes you feel bad about your own life. Jeanne Dielman does exactly the opposite showing a more realistic picture of things at least in the 70s and I can imagine that especially yough people who are forced to watch this movie with the right context come out of this one for a change feeling super great about their lives.
#4 Recognizable Nostalgia!
As someone born in 1982 in Belgium, many of the things I saw in the movie just brought me back to my childhood and what I saw at my grandparents and older peope in general. This in the form of the bottle of soap, the "Luikse stroop" for breakfast, the milk bottles, the furniture especially the bedroom closet, ...
I also liked how in that time people grinded their own coffee beans which took me back as I remember a device in the kitche of my grandmother that did this. So I started wondering why people don't do this anymore an everything now is those capsules which kind of have 'unhealthy' written all over. So I looked it up asking Chat GPT during the movie which allowed me to wander off a bit without really missing anything.
The Story Itself:
I only read the plot of the movie which sounded interesting and knew she was also a Prostitute which can easily be derived from the 'the occasional trick' description.
A lonely widowed housewife does her daily chores, takes care of her apartment where she lives with her teenage son, and turns the occasional trick to make ends meet, but something happens that changes her safe routine.
However, I was constantly thinking about what it could be that happens that changes her routine. I figured that she might fall in love but this simply isn't your cliché standard hollywood movie. Another idea I had was that maye the news would come that her son had died but that would have made things overly dramatic. Somewhat later in the movie I was thinking that the fact that she overcooked here potatoes might have been the thing. However it were more small gradual things in the fact that she was up a hour too early which made it so that the shop was still closed that started messing up her routine. So I would say, don't go in that in the middle of the movie something spectacular happens that changes everything.
The one things I would say I didn't really like about the movie was the weird and somewhat cringe acting and dialogue of her son. It is a movie with very little taking in it though which I would say is a good thing.
So the question now is if you should watch this and who I would recommend it to. I would say if you meet 1 or more of these criteria it might be worth the watch for you. If not, this movie might be a torture to watch.
If you read the plot and think "this might be Something for me".
If you are someone who is using routine to feel safe and supresse anxiety.
If you have Low Attention Span and want and Antidote.
If you want to feel great about your own life.
If you are a cinefile and look for something completely different.
If you are frome Belgium and were born in the 70s-80s.
If none of the above and you want to experience torture.
ConclusionI was afraid when it came down to this movie before watching it that I might not have much to write about. However, that is not the case at all! I went in with high expectations and with the right mindset at the right time without knowing too much about this film and it exceeded them! It gave me something that I never experienced before and I absolutely loved it. This movie gave me the joy of beating a Dark Souls boss after hours of trying just by providing a view of the appartment from a different angle as my sensory input was so deprived. I would describe this movie as Groundhog Day (which is my favorite movie if all time) but realistic with a housewife in the 70s. This movie for me is an unique masterpiece and this review is my love letter to it! It also is still growing on me and my score only keeps rising 8.9/10
Hi internet people, everything alright? I recently saw this movie because, as a K-pop fan, I had to 😄 and since it's a representative South Korean film, it had to use this aspect of its culture for the main premise.
Even before starting the review, I have to say that the film is very good in many aspects. The K-pop part is fascinating; I liked how they represented the way this industry is managed, and the way they fused Korean folklore with K-pop is great 😃. All of its elements are very well made and developed, but without further ado, let's begin 🤗
The story is based on Mira Rumi and Zoey, who, in addition to being idols and having a group called HUNTR/X, are the current generation of demon hunters (an organization that literally dedicates itself to hunting demons and keeping them away from people). However, Rumi's secret and the fracture in the portal they usually create by singing, which keeps the demons at bay, will cause things to start going wrong.
Things get worse when the Saja Boys appear, a group of 5 very handsome demons who are also Idols, and who intend to steal the souls of their own fans.
The voice acting in both languages (Spanish and English) and the character development are tremendous, that's why I love it, especially regarding the protagonists and Rumi's two friends. For example, Jinu, the leader of the Saja Boys, is selfish, calculating, and manipulative; however, time with Rumi transforms him into a better person until he regains empathy for others 🤗.
Rumi's friends, despite being very cheerful and playful, know when to stop and listen to each other, when to pay attention to what they feel in order to advise each other. This speaks of a solid friendship; it's not just about having a good time and having fun, but about knowing how to listen, offer support and solidarity, have a word of encouragement, and even lecture when necessary, because a true friend doesn't always tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear so that you can mature, grow, and improve as a person.
Regarding the soundtrack I can tell you that despite being a musical film, it doesn't become tedious; the songs are excellent and are placed in perfect scenes without being excessive, which gives the film a good balance. Although I love all the songs, I must say that my favorites are "Free" and "Soda pop". You can feel the perfect vibe of authentic K-Pop bands, the same beats that make you get up and shake a leg.
And the best part was that they are equally good in both Korean and Spanish; they don't lose quality in the translation process 😍
The art of the animation is beautiful at times and funny at others; the exaggerated reactions of the characters in some scenes are very reminiscent of anime 😄.
The cinematography is beautiful, with many shots worth highlighting, but I think my favorite sequence is the one during the song "Free." Also, the setting and shots in the scene where Jinu "betrays Rumi," the poor lighting, and the cast... Everything is beautiful. 😍
The character design is so well done that the features look quite Korean, in fact they literally look like idols.
The truth is that it is worth watching, I love it 😍 although there are some questions that remain unanswered, however it is rumored that there will be a second part, so if that is the case that would not be a problem and I can only wait 🤗

Call me a movie lover and I would gladly accept. There is something about nice and good movies.
This movie is no other than the Originals, the continuation of Vampire Diaries, a vampire movie, with themes that explore, secret, betrayal, love, revenge, and family drama.
If you're a lover of supernatural power, werewolf and vampire genre then this movie is for you.
The character Klaus, an original, returns after long years of being away to reclaim the city he built and seeing the one he calls son “Marcel” as the leader. In order not to break their bond Klaus with his cunny attitude tries to take away the city from him, more drama from both the witches and the werewolves spring up. Will the werewolf and vampire ever live peacefully together? What about the people who can control the world with spells?
Family secrets, duty and responsibility, love and lust, pain and misery.
One night fling that gives birth to something that isn't supposed to be born. Marcel is still in love with Klaus’s sister even after several years of being apart. Klaus in love with Marcel's girlfriend and Elijah in love with the woman that is pregnant for Klaus.
Complicated love life, things get more hot when these love birds experience more conflicts that break them apart, family duties, clan duties and leadership. Will they ever find true happiness? Deep family secrets are unveiled.
Anger,
Hurt
And the veil for vengeance.
I would say the characters performed so well. The beginning of the movie starts with a werewolf being pregnant for a vampire but outrightly got rejected because it was a one- night flirt while Elijah who had fate on his brother thinking having a child was going to redeem his selfish and self centered attitude fell in love. Elijah thought he never deserves love and thought he’s a beast who will always hurt those he loves which is why he pushes Hayley away.
And the dutiful sister Rebekah who wants a happy ever with Marcel but her brother Klaus is an obstacle even to the extent of betraying her brother just to have her freedom gets more things complicated by resurrecting the last person Klaus hates so much, his weakness. His father who maltreated him because he's a hybrid. Rebekah never thought for once her selfish desires could bring down the city of Orleans which is Klaus's pride.
Klaus is a rational character I must say, self centered and makes decisions for his selfish reasons without once thinking of others, easy judgement of character. Most of his decisions end up getting him in trouble. A leader without empathy as a quality. Most times act without thinking and when the consequences back fire, he expects loyalty from his siblings.
What happens when Klaus finds out his sister's betrayal? Will he ever forgive his sister or put her to millions of years to sleep? Will Klaus ever find true happiness or will his selfish attitude keep pushing the people that truly love him away? Find out more.
