Bonjour les cinéphiles,

Ce film allemand est disponible sur Netflix depuis peu. Il dure 1h49 et est classé dans la catégorie Thriller.

Synopsis :

Sara Wulf (Jeanne Goursaud) est une ancienne soldate de l'unité des forces spéciales. Elle a servi en Afghanistan et est la seule survivante d'une embuscade tendue à son équipe. Elle était avec son petit-ami là-bas, qui, lui, est décédé dans l'embuscade. En rentrant au pays, elle découvre qu'elle est enceinte d'un petit garçon. Elle garde des séquelles psychologiques suite à son combat en Afghanistan, mais après 6 ans, elle décide de partir aux Etats-Unis, la patrie de son petit-ami et d'accepter un poste dans le domaine de la sécurité. Elle emmène évidemment son petit garçon. Elle se rend au consulat américain à Francfort pour avoir tous les documents nécessaires pour le voyage.

Il semble qu'on la fasse patienter un peu trop longtemps au goût du petit Joshua. Elle conduit donc son fils jusqu'à un espace de jeu. Elle l'y laisse quelques minutes seul, mais quand elle revient, il a disparu.

Elle tente d'abord de le retrouver par elle-même, mais elle n'a pas accès à toutes les salles et se fait rapidement interpeler par des gardes. Après discussion avec le responsable, des recherches sont menées de manière plus approfondie. On la soupçonne d'être folle, d'avoir oublié de prendre ses médicaments, ce qui ne va pas calmer cette mère qui ne trouve plus son fils.

Mais .. est-elle vraiment folle ?

Mon avis et petites infos :

Jeanne Goursaud est une actrice franco-allemande que nous avions déjà vue dans la série "Barbares". Dougray Scott, qui joue le responsable de la sécurité, est un acteur écossais que vous avez peut-être aperçu dans Mission Impossible 2, dans Taken 3 ou encore dans Hitman.

C'était pas mal, même si certaines choses étaient un peu trop louches pour être crédibles, mais soit ! Nous avons passé un bon moment, avec de l'action et de jolis combats.

Nine Perfect Strangers: A Strange TV Show (My Review)
Hello friends!

Another intriguing and certainly strange TV show, another one that also deals with nine characters (like the previous one I shared here) but in a different way. And the second season has recently come out, very different from the first, yet united by the same premise and the same leading star. Will there be a third? I don't know, we'll see...

And what TV show am I talking about? This TV show is called Nine Perfect Strangers, created by HULU, and it has been quite popular really on Amazon Prime Video, specially now with the second season. And I would like to share my review with you after watching it completely.

Let's tell something about this TV show. Here my review:

What is this about?

It's about a group of people, specifically, there are nine different and strange people. They don't know each other—well, the couples and family do—but they all attend the same therapy center in a kind of natural resort, with a pool, lake, and natural waterfall, as well as a sauna and a forest. In this setting, all these characters, guided by the center's guru (played by the famous actress Nicole Kidman), undergo psychological therapy to heal some personal plot or problem, but it's all very strange...

First of all, it's worth mentioning that each of the two seasons is different; the setting changes in the second, although the main thread remains the same. The first season had quite a repercussion, and the second is fairly recent but also leaves us in suspense...

First Season

We begin at a nature center called "Tranquillum" (calm in latin I think), where the nine characters decide to spend time together to address psychological issues. But the therapy is quite controversial and strange. At first, we get to know all the characters. Another famous actress, Melissa McCarthy, stands out, albeit in a less comical role. And we gradually become familiar with the rest of them and their situations. It's curious that the one who seems least interesting or least conflictive ends up being... [no SPOILER]

Not only does one character end up spiraling out of control, but the situation itself. The almost mystical therapy has the feel of a group cult, where three assistants also end up in unexpected situations, creating more chaos. But the most controversial aspect is that they use drugs, in low doses to induce a state of disinhibition and total relaxation, but which cause everyone to have crazy visions and push them to the limit. Despite all the madness and a certain amount of manipulation, some end up clearing up pent-up emotions and damaging feelings; some improve their situation with such brutally driven sincerity, while others begin another relationship with each other... No one remains indifferent, nor will they ever be the same again, without a doubt.

Even the protagonist, the master of ceremonies who claims to understand others, who claims her questionable therapy works, seems to have her own ghosts, traumas, or internal issues that surface from the past. Who is she really? Can she trust the nine perfect strangers? How does the situation end? I'll just say it's abrupt, surprising, and somewhat extreme, but it leaves us wondering what's happening to the guru. And we'll find out more in the second season...

Second Season

And suddenly, the scene changes in the second season. She changes her life, but does the same thing, now from a European mountain resort, surrounded by snow, where nine other perfectly strange characters, also with their personal problems, once again come to visit in order to solve those traumas. Rich people, well or former famous people who want a different type of psychological therapy, this time in a sky luxury hotel. But one who appears belatedly from a helicopter stands out in particular. Does he have any connection to the "therapist"?

Once again, the protagonist Masha Dmitrichenko (Nicole Kidman) is certain of her type of therapy, which can cause suspicion among some participants, but in the end, everyone somehow accepts the drug use and mental shock that makes them reach other unleashed states and everything breaks loose. But she still seems strange, somewhat psychopathic at times and sinister, even in her voice, although she has changed her physical appearance and hairstyle, with a look now not so boho, but more sophisticated and cold, like the environment itself.

In the end, the strange and unexpected happens again, because nothing remains under control as it was supposed to, but she returns to her past. Could it be true? Everything changes, and the ending is once again surprising. She remains in charge despite everything, and it seems she will once again know how to survive, reinvent herself, and continue with her strange life... Will we see it again?

The characters

Nicole Kidman & Melissa McCarthy are the two main characters, the first one is the absolute protagonist of the two seasons but in my opinion her characters are somehow always the same, well not, but her face or role play, and the other one usually appears in comic movies so it's interesting to watch her in a different type of shows.

But there are also many others. For example on the second season we see one character of the first season of The White Lotus TV show which has some similarities. A bunch of people on a resort, but on the other series not on therapy just enjoying tropical holidays, but at the end, many unexpected situations are having place out there...

Anything else to comment?

The point to keep in mind is that Masha relies too heavily on the psychedelic substances she makes them take. Is that correct? She says it's how they heal traumas they release when they're completely relaxed; it's a powerful therapy and too radical in some ways. In the second season, she perfects or refines her technique. She also has greater control over her treatment by spending more time indoors, despite having fewer staff members. But you also have to pay attention to the guy who helps her at the ski hotel and the other woman who sometimes shows up at the office and invites her to undergo her therapy (or experiment?) at her mountain hotel, which she inherited from her family.

For many, this whole group approach is almost reminiscent of some kind of cult, although she remains convinced it works. And as we see at the end, some seem to emerge truly different, so in a way, is she right?

I have been telling so much, it's better to enjoy the TV show by yourselves. There are now two seasons of eight episodes each! And who knows if there will be another third one! Take a look!

Not a Cat Person, but I'm Obsessed with... "ELECEED" (Webtoon)

A couple of weeks ago, I got hooked on another Webtoon. I've been eyeing this Webtoon since around 2020, but there weren't a lot of chapters available at that time, so I decided against it. Now, there are more than 300 free chapters available to read on [Webtoon](https://www.webtoons.com/en/action/eleceed/list?title_no=1571). Because of that, I decided to give it a shot!
The Webtoon I'm talking about it called ***ELECEED***.

In the story, there's a high school student named Jiwoo. He's a kind-hearted young man who loves cats and has a secret he has to keep.

He possesses lightning-quick reflexes, but instead of being proud about it, it made him more scared and wary. He thought that when people discovered this secret, people around him would look at him differently. His mom also worries for him, so they tend to transfer from one place to another, making Jiwoo further away from making friends.

He didn't feel that lonely, though, because he found solace in cats. When he was young, he was comforted by a cat, and since then, he has been taking care of stray cats, regardless of where they live.
One day, the stray cats he's been helping guided him to a cute, chubby cat that was covered in blood. However, he's no ordinary cat.

That cat turned out to be "the" Kayden. He's an awakened, and among the strongest at that. He introduced Jiwoo to the world beyond the regular humans... a world where Jiwoo truly belongs.

Together as a master and an apprentice, they're now fighting against the forces of evil that have begun to take over the normal world, along with some friends and fellow awakened beings they met along the way.

There are many amusing characters in this Webtoon, but what I love the most is the character development. I'm a sucker for character development, and this Webtoon is feeding me a bunch.

The majority of the scenes are exciting and action-packed, but there are also serious moments and funny times. The comedy side of this Webtoon is also really effective, especially when it involves the more serious characters.
Despite that, I also love all the wholesome moments the main character spends with his friends and his cats. I love the small and mundane episodes that they show from time to time. It's like a breath of fresh air.
As I've mentioned, there are now more than 300 chapters available, and it's still ongoing. I don't think it's nearing its climax, either... but it's building up! :) That's why I can't wait to read the upcoming chapters.

Well, I'd let it marinate for now and maybe continue reading it or even reread it in a few months. I mean, I don't mind reliving the hype as I reread the story from the beginning. I'll surely enjoy it!

I'm personally curious about the anime version, so I'm looking forward to watching it when it becomes available next year. For now, I'll be patiently waiting for chapters to pile up before I binge-read again.

One of the peculiarities of Star Trek’s long and distinguished history is its almost complete lack of canonical crossovers with other fictional universes across film, television, or official media. While the franchise has occasionally referenced or loosely adapted elements from external science fiction lore, such interactions have remained rare and non-binding within its own continuity. The sole exception, occurring relatively early in the franchise’s evolution, is The Slaver Weapon, an episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973). This episode stands out not only as a rare instance of inter-universal collaboration but also as a bold creative experiment that bridges two seminal worlds: Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek and Larry Niven’s Known Space saga. Its uniqueness lies in its status as the only officially sanctioned crossover between Star Trek and another established sci-fi universe, a distinction that remains unchallenged even decades later.

The Slaver Weapon was written by Larry Niven, a renowned science fiction author whose work had already intersected with Star Trek during its formative years. Niven, best known for his Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel Ringworld (1970), was part of a cohort of prominent writers whose involvement lent intellectual heft to the franchise in its formative years. Niven’s contribution stemmed from his Known Space universe, a sprawling cosmos first introduced in his 1966 story Neutron Star, but more directly tied to the 1967 short story The Soft Weapon. Unbeknownst to them, the signal is a trap orchestrated by the Kzinti, a feline warrior race intent on acquiring Slaver technology. After the crew is captured, Spock and Sulu escape, retrieve the box, and uncover its contents: a weapon of immense power, capable of unimaginable destruction. However, the weapon’s AI—a remnant of the Slavers—activates a self-destruct sequence upon detecting unauthorised use. In a tense climax, the Kzinti are obliterated, and the trio narrowly escapes. Spock reflects that the weapon’s destruction was fortuitous, underscoring the episode’s theme of forbidden knowledge and the dangers of unchecked technological power.

The episode’s canonical status remains contentious among both Star Trek and Known Space devotees. The primary issue lies in the conflicting timelines and lore of the two universes. Niven’s Known Space predates Star Trek’s 23rd-century setting, with the Slavers existing billions of years prior to the Enterprise’s era. Additionally, the portrayal of the Kzinti diverges significantly from Niven’s original vision: the animated version depicts them as stripeless, less intellectually formidable, and far less menacing than their literary counterparts. These changes, likely driven by budget constraints and the animated format’s limitations, dilute the race’s inherent complexity. For Star Trek purists, the episode’s embrace of a non-canon universe further complicates its place within the franchise’s mythos. Despite these flaws, the episode’s audacity in attempting such a crossover—and its influence on later adaptations—cannot be understated.

Despite its canonical and stylistic compromises, The Slaver Weapon succeeds as a concise, engaging narrative. Niven’s adaptation skillfully condenses the dense, philosophical ideas of The Soft Weapon—such as the ethics of alien technology and the hubris of civilisations—into 22 minutes of runtime. The episode balances exposition with action, explaining Slaver history and Kzinti motives without sacrificing momentum. The pacing is brisk, the stakes palpable, and the AI’s self-destruct mechanism provides a morally ambiguous climax that challenges the protagonists’ assumptions.

A notable footnote in Star Trek history is the episode’s absence of Captain James T. Kirk. This marks the first time a main Star Trek episode does not feature the iconic captain, something that won't occure until the pilot of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987. The episode’s focus on Spock, Sulu, and Uhura allows for character-driven dynamics that differ from Kirk’s leadership-centric narratives, offering a glimpse of Trek’s potential for ensemble storytelling. This experiment, while minor, subtly hints at the franchise’s evolving direction.

Despite its mixed reception at the time—dismissed by some as an oddity or a pale imitation of Niven’s work—The Slaver Weapon has since accrued a devoted following. Its most significant posthumous validation came in the 21st century, when Star Trek: Picard (2020) and Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020) formally integrated the Kzinti into the Star Trek canon, cementing their legacy. These nods acknowledge the episode’s role in introducing one of science fiction’s most compelling alien races to the franchise. For fans, The Slaver Weapon remains a curiosity—a bold, imperfect bridge between universes that, for all its flaws, embodies the spirit of intergalactic storytelling that defines both Star Trek and Niven’s Known Space.

A male nemesis. That's an image that wouldn't make much sense to a student of classical Greek mythology, but the term nemesis has changed a lot over time. However, the essence remains the same: just retribution for actions, words, or omissions.

In the Greek origin, Nemesis is born solely from Nyx (Night), a primeval deity who precedes and surpasses the gods of the Olympus pantheon. In other versions, Nyx fathered Nemesis, with the participation of Erebos (Darkness), which would give a birth that seems a little more normal to us mortals, as it would be the product of a woman (Nyx) and a man (Erebos), although we're talking about deities here, and I suppose that should change things a bit.

However, it is suspected that the idea of a deity of justice, vengeance, and just retribution (whether for crimes or heroic deeds) predates the Greeks. And it may be that, just as the Greeks passed it on to the Romans, another civilization inspired the idea the Greeks wrote about. Actually, we have no credible evidence for that.

I once came across a myth of a male version of Nemesis, but it was quite obscure, and I was never able to confirm whether it was an ancient creation or a literary creation from the European Renaissance.

All of this brings me to a film that brings back the old idea of Nemesis, the classic version of the executor of just revenge, but embodied in a man. This isn't just any man, but an ordinary man, a kind of normal man who could be your neighbor, your friend next door, or yourself.

This is the Australian film “John Doe: Vigilante” (2014).

It's a film that contains quite a bit of violence; there are scenes of strong physical content, but there's also a strong psychological tension that continually pushes the viewer to question everything that happens.

In the film, everything begins with a journalist interviewing an imprisoned serial killer. But nothing is simple. As the interview unfolds, fragments of memories, pieces of previous interviews with other characters, and some flashbacks are interspersed. As everything progresses, it gradually becomes clear that there's something strange about the whole situation.

The point of the film, which makes it somewhat dangerous, is the questioning of taking justice into one's own hands. It shows the futility of appealing to the legal system when criminals have enough power (be it money, influence, or connections) to ensure that everything goes unpunished, and even punish the victims for complaining about their sad fate.

It carries with it the simple and cruel idea: “If you don't have the power to enforce justice, then it's not worth calling it justice.”

Or to put it more briefly: “Justice depends on the force behind it.”

The ending of the film is interesting, and it left me curious enough to wish they'd make a sequel, but I know this has such a dangerous plot (socially speaking) that it's unlikely we'll ever see a film following the actions of this serial killer.

I couldn't find the film to watch, although it's available on streaming sites, but there was no source to play it. I don't know if it's a blockade in my country or if it can be watched elsewhere. So I'm leaving the two links where I found it and wishing you better luck than I did:

Un némesis masculino. Esa es una imagen que para un estudioso de mitología clásica griega no tendría mucho sentido, pero el término de némesis ha variado mucho con el paso del tiempo. Sin embargo, se mantiene la esencia: La justa retribución por las acciones, palabras u omisiones.

En el origen griego, Némesis nace solamente de Nix (Noche), una deidad primigenia que es anterior y superior a los dioses del panteón del Olimpo. En otras versiones Nix engendró a Némesis, con la participación de Erebos (Oscuridad), lo que daría un nacimiento que nos resultaría un poco más normal para los mortales, pues sería el producto de una mujer (Nix) y un hombre (Erebos), aunque de lo que estamos hablando es de deidades, y supongo que eso debería cambiar las cosas un poco.

Sin embargo, se sospecha que la idea de una deidad de la retribución, la justicia, la venganza y el justo pago (ya sea de crímenes o acciones heroicas) es una idea anterior a los griegos. Y puede pasar que, igual que los griegos se la pasaron a los romanos, otra civilización inspirara la idea que escribieron los griegos. En realidad, no tenemos pruebas creíbles de eso.

Yo me encontré una vez con un mito de una versión masculina de Némesis, pero era bastante oscura, y nunca pude confirmar si era una creación antigua o una creación literaria de la época del renacimiento europeo.

Todo esto me lleva a una película que me trae la vieja idea de Némesis, la versión clásica de ejecutor de la justa venganza, pero encarnada en un hombre. No se trata de cualquier hombre, sino de un hombre común y corriente, un tipo de hombre normal que podría ser tu vecino, tu amigo de al lado, o tú mismo.

Se trata de la película australiana “John Doe: Vigilante” (2014).

Es una película que contiene bastante violencia, hay escenas de fuerte contenido físico, pero también hay una fuerte tensión psicológica que empuja continuamente al espectador a cuestionar todo lo que sucede.

En la película, todo inicia con una entrevista de un periodista a un asesino serial que está encarcelado. Pero nada es simple. A medida que se hace la entrevista, se mezclan fragmentos de recuerdos, trozos de entrevistas previas a otros personajes, y algunos flashbacks. Así avanza todo y, poco a poco, se nota que hay algo extraño en toda la situación.

El punto de la película que lo hace un poco peligroso, es el cuestionamiento sobre tomar la ejecución de la justicia por mano propia. Se muestra la inutilidad de clamar ante el sistema legal cuando los criminales tienen suficiente poder (sea dinero, influencia o contactos), como para hacer que todo quede sin castigo, e incluso se castigue a las victimas por quejarse de su triste destino.

Lleva implícita la idea simple y cruel: “Si no tienes poder para hacer cumplir la justicia, entonces no vale la pena llamarla justicia”.

O poniéndolo peor y más breve: “La justicia depende de la fuerza que la respalda”.

El final de la película es interesante, y me dejó con suficiente curiosidad como para desear que sacaran una continuación, pero sé que esto tiene una trama tan peligrosa (socialmente hablando) que es poco probable que alguna vez veamos una película que siga las andanzas de este asesino serial.

No pude hallar la película para ver, aunque está en el catálogo de sitios de Streaming, pero no había fuente para reproducir, no sé si será un bloqueo por mi país o si se podrá ver desde otro lado. Así que dejo los dos enlaces en donde lo encontré y les deseo que tengan más suerte que yo:

I don't even know how long ago it was, but I know I had a subscription to the famous streaming platform Netflix, so I watched a movie that left me full of doubts, as I didn't know the characters very well. The movie in question is Black Clover: The Sword of the Wizard King. At the time, I didn't think much of it, but a few days ago I saw that the anime Black Clover was recommended, so I decided to watch it.

Black Clover, nos adentra en un universo con diversidad de la magia, vemos que cada personaje posee en una magia única y aunque puede haber algunos que compartan el manejo del mismo elemento, cada uno lo hace a su manera y nivel, es decir cada personaje crece a su ritmo, algo que también puede notarse, hasta cierto punto, en sus grimorios ,que también son únicos.

Algo que amo de Balck Clover es que nos presenta un personaje que nunca dejo de creer en sí mismo aun teniendo todo en su contra, por no contar con algo tan valorado en su mundo como lo es la magia, pero como el protagonista nunca se rinde, nos muestra o recuerda lo importante de la superación personal, el trabajo en equipo y la amistad, por solo mencionar algunos.

Algo que valoro yo en un anime, a menos que hablemos de algo super Gore, es el humor, aquí esto no falta comenzando por el protagonista que es un gritón y muy tonto a veces, además de que hay otros personajes que hacen muchas cosas disparatadas o aquellos que todo el tiempo son motivo de risas por su personalidad.

Si algo está presente en Black Clover, son batallas épicas, es muy raro algún capítulo donde no veamos alguna o al menos un entrenamiento o la historia de algún personaje, a medida que el anime avanza, van creciendo las batallas y sin duda es uno de los mayores atractivos de este anime, además como es de esperarse, hay personajes y enemigos más fuertes que otros y ver a un personaje o enemigo entrar en escena te pone a la expectativa porque se desea conocer más de su mágica, como la usa y que tan poderoso es.

En cuanto a sus openings y endings, los hay para todos los gustos y sus imágenes muchas veces son sorprendentes, dándonos un anticipo o de algo de lo que estamos por presenciar, pero lo suficiente como para dejarte con la duda.

Vi una película loquísima que se llama Dangerous Animals es de este año y me dejó pegada al mueble desde que empezó hasta que terminó, el director es Sean Byrne el mismo loco que hizo The Loved Ones y The Devil's Candy, este es un thriller psicológico que combina asesinos en serie con tiburones y quizás la trama suena medio loca pero para mí fuincionó. Aparece un tipo llamado Tucker, interpretado por Jai Courtney que maneja un negocio de tours con tiburones en Australia pero en realidad es un psicópata que usa a estos depredadores marinos como su método de asesinato mientras graba todo para su colección personal, este tipo es un total psicópata. También está Zephyr, una surfista estadounidense interpretada por Hassie Harrison que termina siendo la presa principal de este enfermo y aquí es dondew la película se convierte en una batalla psicológica entre estos dos donde uno trata de sobrevivir y el otro busca completar su ritual macabro.

Lo que más me gustó de esta peli es la actuación de Jai Courtney, creo que al fin encontró el papel perfecto para mostrar su talento después de años de estar en otras pelis mediocres, aquí se transforma completamente en este psicópata carismático que al principio parece un tipo normal y hasta amigable, pero poco a poco revela sus verdaderas intenciones. Este tipo Tucker no es solo otro asesino serial y ya sino que tiene unas motivaciones retorcidas y una filosofía bizarra sobre los tiburones y la cadena alimentaria, comparándose a sí mismo con un super depredador y cree que sus víctimas son peces más pequeños. Hassie Harrison también hace una buena actuación como Zephyr, crea un personajke que no se queda parada esperando que la rescaten sino que lucha por su supervivencia usando su ingenio y determinación. Entre ellos existe esa tensión de gato y ratón que mantiene la película interesante, especialmente en las escenas más psicológicas donde Tucker trata de quebrar mentalmente a Zephyr mientras planea su muerte.

Claro no te estoy hablando aquí que estqa es la mejor película porque tiene unos cuantos probl4emas como que ciertas situaciones parecen un poco forzadas o convenientes para avanzar la trama, más que todo en esa subtrama romántica entre Zephyr y Moses que es medio artificial y no me terminó de convencer del todo. Otra cosa es que faltando poco más o menos en la tercera parte pensé que la película tuvo muchos finales es que parecía que iba a terminar y continuaba y así entonces sentí que más bien la habían alargado. Los efectos especiales con los tiburones están bien hechos en su mayoría, aunque hay unas partes donde se nota mucho el efecto digital, lo bueno es que el ritmo se mantuvo durante toda la película y hay suficiente tensión y gore para los que le gusta esa parte de horror.

Tucker habla tiene una visión distorsionada del mundo natural porque compara sus crímenes con el instinto de los tiburones y buenpo aqui los tiburones no son como monstruos malvados sino como animales que siguen su naturaleza para mí el verdadero monstruo es Tucker que usa estos animales como una excusa para sus fantasías sádicas. Las secuencias bajo eñl agua están muy bien filmadas y dan bastante miedo porque hay mucha tensión a través de lo que no ves en lugar de mostrar todo explícitamente, debo confesar que a mi me gusta mucho la playa pero me da miedo meterme en lugares donde no veo el fondo y yo creo que por eso esta peli me generó bastante tensión porque no sabes que animal marino puede salir aunque estás pendiente de los tiburones. Esa parte d supervivencia con thriller psicológico la peli logra equilibrarla muy bien dentro de este género de tiburones evitando caer en clichés.

Yo le doy a Dangerous Animals un 6.5/10 es un buen thriller psicológico que combina elementos de horror con una idea original que la verdad me parece que se aleja de las típicas películas de tiburones. Claro que tiene algunas fallas en el guión y algunos momentos donde la lógica se escapa por la ventana pero creo que la película lo logra y es gracias a las actuaciones de sus protagonistas en conjunto con una buena dirección que sabe mantener la tensión sin caer a trucos baratos. Sean Burn sabe cómo crear horror del bueno y con un presupuesto bajo creo que supo aprovechar bien sus recursos y logró hacer una película que tiene una idea bizarra y la desarrolla de buena manera, yo creo que vale la pena verla porque te mantiene enganchado es que me gustó que mantiene la tensión y suspenso y también tiene algo de gore y violencia.

What I liked the most about this movie is Jai Courtney's performance, I think he finally found the perfect role to show his talent after years of being in other mediocre movies, here he completely transforms into this charismatic psychopath who at first seems like a normal and even friendly guy, but little by little he reveals his true intentions. This Tucker guy is not just another serial killer and already but has some twisted motivations and a bizarre philosophy about sharks and the food chain, comparing himself to a super predator and believes his victims are smaller fish. Hassie Harrison also gives a good performance as Zephyr, she creates a character who doesn't stand around waiting to be rescued but fights for her survival using her wits and determination. However, yesterday I was pleasantly surprised by the very dynamic approach taken in the latest version of Superman (although there are some misguided decisions that somewhat minimized the potential of the project itself, which misses the chance to be even greater by relying on escapist maneuvers to create more agile endings).

I've been reading a lot of reviews about the movie, especially after I've already seen the movie and published my own review (which, by the way, has already been published, and if you're interested in reading it, just click here), and it's almost unanimous that this new version has been very well received, both financially and by specialized critics and the general public. No entanto, ontem eu fui positivamente surpreendido por uma abordagem bastante dinâmica, que foi feita na mais recente versão do Superman (ainda que haja decisões equivocadas que minimizaram um pouco de todo o potencial do projeto em si, que perde a chance de ser ainda mais grandioso por apostar em manobras escapistas para criar desfechos mais ágeis).

Eu já venho lendo muitos reviews sobre filme, principalmente depois de eu já ter assistido ao filme e publicado o meu próprio review (que aliás, já foi publicado e caso você esteja interessado em lê-lo, é só clicar aqui), e é quase consensual dizer que essa nova versão vem sendo muito bem aceita, tanto financeiramente quanto pelos críticos especializados quanto pelo público civil. A resposta vem sendo extremamente positiva, a ponto de muitas pessoas já considerarem o filme como a versão mais fiel do super-herói kryptoniano e o melhor filme de super-herói já feito na história do cinema. Não se trata sobre criar algo realmente inédito (afinal, isso seria literalmente impossível), muito pelo contrário, se trata sobre seguir à risca (ainda que com uma boa dose de “liberdade criativa”) algo que já havia sido feito em outro lugar (histórias em quadrinhos). James Gunn ousou em fazer algo básico bem feito, e ao mesmo tempo, “flertou” com alguns tipos diferentes de propostas (desde a própria concepção do roteiro, que agora é mais descontraído, até um elenco de nomes inesperados que é muito funcional) que trouxeram um ótimo resultado para o novo começo do multiverso DC. O modo como o projeto está sendo recebido é digno de algo que realmente trouxe resultados muito além do esperado.

Murderbot episode 2 really cranks up the psychological tension compared to that wild pilot and it felt like a pretty brilliant shift in gears even though it slows things down a bit. The whole episode basically becomes this super uncomfortable interrogation between Murderbot and Gurathin, who is this augmented human that clearly don't trust robots worth a damn and watching these two go at it is like watching a chess match where one player is secretly having a panic attack. Murderbot is tryin so hard to act normal but you can see every micro expression screaming that this thing has no clue what normal even means anymore, it's like watchin someone try to pass a lie detector test while their brain is melting down in real time. Skarsgard is absolutely killing it here, playing this character who is desperately trying to compute human expectations while fighting against whatever the hell is happening to its programming and so far it's some of the best method acting I've seen in a sci fi show lately. The way he handles the forced eye contact scenes, you can practically feel Murderbot's skin crawling, which is pretty damn impressive considering it's supposed to be part machine and what makes this even more fkn awesome is how the show makes you complicit in Murderbot's deception, like you are rooting for successful manipulation which says something kinda disturbing about how we relate to authenticity these days. The paranoid environment that builds up perfectly its a perfect painted picture of what is going on inside Murderbot's head and you can almost see it calculating conversation responses in real time like some kind of socially anxious computer trying to pass as human, reminds me of when ppl use Ai to pass job interviews in the back.

Meanwhile the rest of the Preservation Aux team is having their own drama with Mensah and Bharadwaj deciding to go check out these blank spots on their maps without bringing their security unit along, which is obviously a terrible idea but humans gonna human, or dumb I guess. The whole sequence where Mensah is hiking up this steep hill in bad weather while having a panic attack is so intense and you can feel Murderbot's frustration through the screen as it watches these people it's supposed to protect making dumb decisions without it, it made me mad about it. When that massive centipede creature shows up behind Mensah, I was sure she was gonna become bug food but instead the thing just crawls over her and heads toward this weird alien force field that is apparently killing everything that gets too close. The discovery of all those dead centipede creatures around some kind of crater with a mysterious energy field felt terrifying and when their drone gets blown to pieces by whatever is down there, you know they have stumbled onto something way bigger than just mapping anomalies. This whole alien tech subplot adds a really nice sci fi horror side that balances out the psychological thriller stuff happening back at base and the way Mensah comes back all shaken up from the experience really shows how dangerous this planet is even without the corporate conspiracy as they constantly talk about.

The team is almost a group of weirdos tbh and its very interesting who is going to die first, especially with Arada, Pin Lee and Rathy forming their trio / orgy situation which gives Murderbot something awkward to accidentally show Gurathin when he tries to hack into its memory banks, it was hilarious, like when women put up dildos no their bag so when TSA check. That whole scene is hilarious and uncomfortable at the same time, it perfectly shows how Murderbot is learning to use human behavior against the humans themselves and its all from thos TV shows he has been downloading, the entire fact that an Ai is getting trained itself with pirated content is hilarious, the writers of this series are so creative generating this contradictory scenarios. Gurathin's backstory about coming from a place where constructs get treated as people adds some good context for why he is so suspicious but also why he might eventually come around to trusting Murderbot, assuming it doesn't malfunction and kill everyone first. The way the episode handles these character moments while building tension is pretty skillful, never letting things get too heavy without some kind of relief valve, whether it's awkward robot behavior or humans being adorably stupid about obvious dangers, you can see the writers really understand how to balance the comedy with the thriller elements without making either feel forced or out of place.

By the time the episode wraps up with the team trying to contact that other survey group and getting radio silence, you know something real bad has happened over there and the quick glimpse of the massacre at DeltFall habitat confirms that this corporate conspiracy goes way deeper than just mapping cover ups, now Im not so clear on the hole conspiracy theme because until now they are just assuming although the first rogue SecUnit shows up and intensifies the question of who is behind all this. The fact that even their SecUnit got destroyed suggests whatever is happening might get more than just human bad guys and when Mensah decides they need to take Murderbot along for the investigation, you can feel both relief that they are finally making a smart decision but they still acting irrational and dumb about what they might find, they dont have a drop of malice of that wise kind of thinking that you only get through age, it seems like they are just all some old teenagers. Murderbot's sarcastic "what could possibly go wrong" internal monologue perfectly captures the mood of everything going on but even though he gets it he still doesnt know much on how to improvise and gets caught on big pause before continues, like everyone knows this is a terrible idea but they gotta do it anyway because the alternative is staying ignorant while people die. The episode does a great job of building up these multiple sub plots and character development, from the alien tech to the corporate conspiracy to whatever killed the other team, without making it feel overwhelming or confusing about what the main story, Murderbot eventually going rogue because he eventually get fed up with humans or at least I think thats the assumption the series wants you to think about.

In my opinion this episode is prove that the series can handle and balance between robot jokes and sci fi action, not just full blown comedy and also starting to dig into the suspense part of the series, who is behind everything wrong that is going with both teams. On the side we got the entire situation of what happens when artificial intelligence develops anxiety disorders and has to deal with human social structure as it was never design to deal with this kind of situations, situations that some times can not be quantified since they are more of the irrational feelings. The psychological tension between Murderbot and the team creates this paranoid environment that keeps you invested on the episode even when nothing explosive is happening and that is the mark of really solid writing and acting working, well acting is not crazy good, I guess its more about the script tha let this actors been great at been awkward with each other. It's slower than the pilot and some of the interrogation scenes drag a little but the character development and world building more than make up for the pacing issues and Skarsgard performance alone makes it worth watching just to see him nail this impossible role. I'm giving this one an 8/10 because it successfully shifts the show from quirky comedy into great thriller territory while keeping all the elements that made the first episode work so well and that's not an easy balance to pull off without falling flat on your face.

🎬Review: Kusuriya no Hitorigoto || Reseña: Los Diarios de la Boticaria🏯🌺🧪

The truth is that this anime was not on my radar, but thanks to the edits I found on social networks, I ended up falling into the trap. The first thing that grabbed me was its visual style: that aesthetic inspired by imperial China, with traditional clothes, palaces and rituals, it was simply beautiful🌸

I went in expecting a romantic story, delicate, maybe a little cheesy... and what a surprise I got!🥰 What I found was sarcasm, double meaning comments, power games, tension disguised as protocol and a humor that I didn't expect. An anime that plays with silences, looks, and gestures more than big love scenes, but keeps you glued to the screen for all that is hinted at.

And of course, once I started... goodbye outside world. I marathoned it like I had a date with royalty. Because yes, this anime is best enjoyed watching all the chapters, desserts in hand, and with the subtitles turned on so as not to miss any detail.

La verdad es que este anime no lo tenía en el radar, pero gracias a los edits que encontraba en las redes sociales, terminé cayendo en la trampa. Lo primero que me atrapó fue su estilo visual: esa estética inspirada en la China imperial, con ropas tradicionales, palacios y rituales, era simplemente hermosa🌸

Entré esperando una historia romántica, delicada, quizás algo cursi... y ¡qué sorpresa me llevé!🥰 Lo que encontré fue sarcasmo, comentarios con doble sentido, juegos de poder, tensión disfrazada de protocolo y un humor que no me esperaba. Un anime que juega con los silencios, las miradas, y los gestos más que con grandes escenas de amor, pero que te mantiene pegado a la pantalla por todo lo que se insinúa.

Y claro, una vez empecé... adiós mundo exterior. Me hice un maratón como si tuviera una cita con la realeza. Porque sí, este anime se disfruta mejor viendo seguido todos los capítulos, dulces en mano, y con los subtítulos bien activados para no perder ningún detalle.

Imagine a smart, sarcastic young woman, expert in natural remedies... who suddenly ends up working inside the imperial palace, that place where even sighs have protocol. Maomao is not looking to shine, she just wants to go on with her quiet life, mixing herbs and analyzing poisons (like someone who knits in her free time, then).

But life has other plans for her😬 Unwittingly, she gets caught up in a web of mysteries, political intrigues, suspicious illnesses, and an official as elegant as he is cryptic who always seems to be one step ahead of everyone... except her👀.

Between power games, palace gossip, and medical diagnoses, Maomao gradually earns her place in an environment that wasn't prepared for someone like her. And as everyone tries to figure her out, so do we... through laughter, curiosity, and that feeling that something else is cooking between the lines.

Imagínate a una joven inteligente, sarcástica y experta en remedios naturales... que de repente termina trabajando dentro del palacio imperial, ese lugar donde hasta los suspiros tienen protocolo. Maomao no busca brillar, solo quiere seguir con su vida tranquila, mezclando hierbas y analizando venenos (como quien teje en su tiempo libre, pues)

Pero la vida tiene otros planes para ella😬 Sin querer queriendo, se ve envuelta en una red de misterios, intrigas políticas, enfermedades sospechosas, y un funcionario tan elegante como críptico que parece estar siempre un paso delante de todos... menos de ella👀

Entre juegos de poder, chismes de palacio, y diagnósticos médicos, Maomao se va ganando su lugar en un entorno que no estaba preparado para alguien como ella. Y mientras todos tratan de descifrarla, nosotros también... a través de risas, curiosidad, y esa sensación de que algo más se está cocinando entre líneas.

One of the great successes of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is its cast of characters. From the very first chapter, Maomao steals the show with her sharp sarcasm, her zero-delicate attitude and that dark vibe that distinguishes her so much. Not your typical sweet and gentle protagonist at all, she is a brilliant mind, somewhat cynical, with a fascinating black humor, and a curiosity for poisons that can only be described as.... alarmingly adorable. Throughout the seasons, we see how she gradually opens her little heart (just a little), understanding that, although the world is full of people... not so nice, there are others who do deserve her affection. One of the theories is that being born and raised in a brothel, every time she cried nobody paid attention to her, and, therefore, she learned that she had to swallow her tears and repress her emotions; moreover, this context was what made her so "wise" about the interactions between men and women, made her so cynical, and not so trusting of people.

Uno de los grandes aciertos de Los Diarios de la Boticaria es su elenco de personajes. Desde el primer capítulo, Maomao se roba la atención con su sarcasmo afilado, su actitud cero delicada y esa vibra oscura que tanto la distingue. No es la típica protagonista dulce y apacible para nada, ella es una mente brillante, algo cínica, con un humor negro fascinante, y una curiosidad por los venenos que solo puede calificarse de... alarmantemente adorable. A lo largo de las temporadas, vemos cómo poco a poco abre su corazoncito (solo un poquito), entendiendo que, aunque el mundo esté lleno de personas... no tan agradables, hay otras que sí merecen su afecto. Una de las teorías que se maneja es que al nacer y criarse en un burdel, cada vez que lloraba nadie le prestaba atención, y, por ende, aprendió que debía tragarse las lágrimas y reprimir sus emociones; además, este contexto fue el que la hizo tan "sabionda" de las interacciones entre hombres y mujeres, la convirtió en alguien tan cínica, y sin tanta confianza en la gente.

And what about Jinshi?✨ This character is quite an enigma. At first, he seems like the classic charming and perfect imperial official, but what a surprise we get when we get to know his true background. He is strong, cunning, with a character that sometimes despairs... but in the best sense. His relationship with Maomao is an exquisite mix of tension, provocation, mutual respect and constant spark. They make you scream at the screen at how frustrating they are at times, but they also have you grinning like a goofball. I adore them🩷

And you can't talk about this series without honoring the large and colorful supporting cast. From the consorts and their ladies-in-waiting to the doctors, the guards, the courtesans of the pleasure district, they all add their touch to the unfolding story. Without them, the Inner Palace would not be as intriguing, nor Maomao's life as entertaining (or dangerous). Each one fulfills their role with personality and details that make them memorable. This story is alive because of all of them.

¿Y qué decir de Jinshi?✨ Este personaje es todo un enigma. Al principio parece el clásico funcionario imperial encantador y perfecto, pero vaya sorpresa nos llevamos al conocer su verdadero trasfondo. Es fuerte, astuto, con un carácter que a veces desespera... pero en el mejor sentido. Su relación con Maomao es una mezcla exquisita de tensión, provocación, respeto mutuo y chispa constante. Te hacen gritarle a la pantalla por lo frustrante que son a veces, pero también te tienen sonriendo como bobo. Los adoro🩷

Y no se puede hablar de esta serie sin rendirle honor al amplio y colorido elenco secundario. Desde las consortes y sus damas de compañía hasta los médicos, los guardias, las cortesanas del barrio del placer, todos aportan su toque al desarrollo de la historia. Sin ellos, el Palacio Interior no sería tan intrigante, ni la vida de Maomao tan entretenida (o peligrosa). Cada uno cumple su rol con personalidad y detalles que los hacen memorables. Esta historia está viva gracias a todos ellos.

What caught my attention the most about this anime was the mix between mystery and medicine, with that particular humor that only Maomao can offer. Each case presented in the story hooks you, not only because of what is at stake, but also because of how our protagonist manages to solve it with intelligence, analysis, and scientific knowledge... in a time when, of course, it was not “well seen” for a woman to know so much. To all that we add the constant sarcastic tone, which gives a unique identity to the series and breaks any expectation that this would be simply a romance story.

Lo que más me atrapó de este anime fue la mezcla entre el misterio y la medicina, con ese humor tan particular que solo Maomao puede ofrecer. Cada caso que se presenta en la historia te engancha, no solo por lo que está en juego, sino por cómo nuestra protagonista logra resolverlo con inteligencia, análisis, y conocimiento científico... en una época donde, claro, no era "bien visto" que una mujer supiera tanto. A todo eso le sumamos el tono sarcástico constante, que le da una identidad única a la serie y rompe cualquier expectativa de que esto sería simplemente una historia de romance.

The setting is also a big plus: that Imperial and traditional China vibes, full of intrigues, power structures, courtly geography, rituals, and beautiful costumes that makes you feel inside a history book scented with herbs and medicinal gunpowder. And while romance may not be the main course, we can't ignore the simmering tension between Maomao and Jinshi. There is chemistry, there are sparks, and there are looks -and certain scenes- that say much more than a thousand words, but the best thing is that everything is simmered, without rushing, without clichés, which makes every interaction between them a little gift.

La ambientación también es un gran punto a favor: esas vibras de la China Imperial y tradicional, lleno de intrigas, estructuras de poder, geografía cortesana, rituales, y vestuarios hermosos que te hace sentir dentro de un libro de historia con aroma a hierbas y pólvora medicinal. Y aunque el romance no sea el plato principal, no podemos ignorar la tensión latente entre Maomao y Jinshi. Hay química, hay chispas, y hay miradas -y ciertas escenas- que dicen mucho más que mil palabras, pero lo mejor es que todo se cocina a fuego lento, sin apuros, sin clichés, lo que hace que cada interacción entre ellos sea un pequeño regalo.

Another element that I deeply loved was the animation. The drawing style is gorgeous, with soft colors, careful details in the settings and costumes that reflect the visual richness of Imperial China. I enjoyed the facial expressions of the characters too much, Maomao can go from a serious and sharp face to an adorable chibi mode with little cat ears when she is excited, upset or plotting something strange, which to me, seems to help a lot to follow the narrative tone. The anime plays with these visual changes cleverly, and manages to give even the most technical or slow scenes a special spark. The animation is so expressive that you don't need them to say much to know what they are thinking or feeling.

Otro elemento que amé profundamente fue la animación. El estilo de dibujo es precioso, con colores suaves, detalles cuidados en los escenarios y vestimentas que reflejan la riqueza visual de la China Imperial. Disfruté demasiado las expresiones faciales de los personajes, Maomao puede pasar de una cara seria y afilada a un modo chibi adorable con orejitas de gato cuando está emocionada, molesta o tramando algo extraño, lo que a mí parecer, ayuda mucho a seguir el tono narrativo. El anime juega con estos cambios visuales de forma inteligente, y logra que incluso las escenas más técnicas o lentas tengan una chispa especial. La animación es tan expresiva que no necesitas que digan mucho para saber lo que están pensando o sintiendo.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is one of those anime that arrive without making much noise, but end up stealing a piece of your heart (and your time, because you will want to marathon it). The best part is that it didn't come out of nowhere: it's based on a series of Japanese novels by Natsu Hyuuga, which was later adapted into manga, and from there into the anime we love so much today. If you like stories with mystery, sharp characters, simmering romantic sparks and a touch of traditional asian culture... this anime is for you🌸 And best of all: the third season has already been confirmed! Los Diarios de la Boticaria es uno de esos animes que llegan sin hacer mucho ruido, pero terminan robándose un pedazo de tu corazón (y de tu tiempo, porque vas a querer maratonearlo). Lo mejor es que no surgió de la nada: está basado en una serie de novelas japonesas de Natsu Hyuuga, que luego fue adaptada a manga, y de ahí al anime que hoy tanto amamos. Hola comunidad de cinéfilos ,como están? Cómo pasan estos días? , hoy les quiero compartir una reseña sobre una película que quería ver durante mucho tiempo, pero que me dejó una decepción 😞, más adelante es cuento porque, y la película a la que me refiero es esta de , karate kid: leyendas, una película que estuvo bastante esperada desde hace dos años ya que desde antes de que se terminara la última temporada de la serie Cobra Kai ya había sido anunciada, así que entre la expectativas y rumores de la temporada y lo que incluiría la película, se generó un gran interés a ver qué camino tomarán , con el anuncio de Jackie Chan, e incluso los rumores de un posible cameo de Hilary Swank, así que digamos que la suerte estaba puesta para que está película fuera un éxito, una forma de cerrar la increíble franquicia que ya se convirtió en de culto, y que unió dos generaciones por medio del karate 🥋.

Li Fong ,tiene que amoldarse a una nueva etapa en su vida ,cuando su madre una doctora termina mudandose de Beijing a Nueva York, tras una tragedia familiar, esto lleva a Li deje toda su carrera y estudio en el kung fu, entrenando con el legendario sensei el sr Han ( Jackie Chan), a pasar a tener problemas en su nueva escuela , y a adaptarse en este nuevo País. Luego de que ocurriera un problema con el nuevo amigo de Li, este termina teniendo que enfrentarse a volver a las artes marciales,en una competencia cuyo premio sería la salvación del negocio de su amigo, pero teniendo que enfrentarse al bullying de su colegio ,el campeón actual , y encima enfrentándose a muchos fantasmas de su pasado. Por suerte el sr Han tiene una Az bajo la manga, conseguir a el antiguo alumno de su viejo amigo Miyagi, Daniel LaRusso , para que lo ayude a entrenarlo con toda la filosofía que Miyagi , en una medida que une las películas de culto de Karate kid, y Cobra Kai para concluir todo este universo cinematográfico.

La película empieza siendo bastante genérica, aunque creo que las primeras escenas son de lo mejor, intentaron volver a la película de karate kid 5 de Jackie Chan con Jayden Smith, aquella que no pegó tanto, aquí vemos al maestro Han llevando su escuela de artes marciales e intentando ayudar a que su alumno Li , siga entrenando a escondidas de su madre, una mujer que deja muy en claro que ya no desea que Li siga participando en este deporte. Por un mejor trabajo, y un nuevo comienzo en otro país , la madre de Lee termina llevándoselo a estados unidos, a la ciudad de Nueva York, con el fin de dejar una historia familiar trágica que iremos descubriendo a medida que avanza la película, también con la intención de que Li pueda prepararse para entrar a la universidad y tener un mejor futuro, uno alejado del deporte que tanto le ha quitado a su familia.

Vemos que Li hace un amigo , una chica hija del dueño de una pizzería y la única persona con la que Li logra conectar en esa ciudad, ofreciéndole enseñarle Mandarin a cambio que le enseñe la ciudad, empiezan compartir mucho, por desgracia para Li , está chica está involucrada con un cretino que es su ex, y que es también un deportista de Kung fu, aparentemente problemático y que empieza a acosar a Li, y aunque Li es demasiado bueno en su Kung fu, es bastante obvio que el chico lo supera con creces y es que este es el actual campeón en la ciudad. Aunque Li, intenta huir de las peleas , estás lo buscan ,cuando al padre de su amiga , terminan intentando darle una paliza un grupo de cobradores de un antiguo préstamo que le hizo un prestamista pesado de la ciudad, pero Li quien es un deportista experimentado logra reducir a los criminales con una rapidez extraordinaria, impresionado a ,y pidiéndole que lo ayude a ponerse en forma para recuperar su carrera como boxeador y ganar una competencia con un premio que pagaría todas sus deudas ,salvaría su negocio y podría asegurar el pago de la universidad de su hija.

**The film starts off pretty generic, though I think the opening scenes are the best. They tried to go back to Jackie Chan's The Karate Kid 5 with Jayden Smith, which wasn't as successful. Here we see Master Han running his martial arts school and trying to help his student Li continue training, secretly from his mother, a woman who makes it very clear that she no longer wants Li to participate in the sport. For a better job and a new start in another country, Lee's mother ends up taking him to the United States, to New York City, in order to leave a tragic family history that we will discover as the film progresses, also with the intention that Li can prepare to enter college and have a better future, one far from the sport that has taken so much from his family. **

La película la vi con mi papa ya que el es de la generación de las primeras películas y las disfrutó mucho, yo por otro lado soy fan de la serie , y me encantó mucho la sexta temporada ,y como lograron posicionar de nuevo la franquicia entre los expectadores, dándole de nuevo muchos fans por la nostalgia de las películas, así como nuevos expectadores que se interesaron por los personajes de la nueva generación y el toque cómico junto al karate y las coreografías de peleas sumamente increíbles. La película es sumamente repetitiva, usa la fórmula de las primeras, un chico que llega nuevo a una ciudad , le hacen bullying, usualmente alguien que hace deporte y es físicamente intimidante ,y es casualmente el ex del interés amoroso del protagonista, es exactamente la misma fórmula, solo que aquí Lo es ya un experimentado deportista que dejó las competencias debido a un ataque que dejó a su hermano (un prodigio del Kung fu) muerto y a su familia destrozada. Aquí intentan darle un giro interesante al poner que Li termine siendo momentáneamente el sensei del padre de Maya, un tipo cuarentón que fue boxeador pero que ahora atiende el negocio familiar,una pizzería, él está convencido de que sí Li lo ayuda ,podrá ganar un importante competencia que tiene un premio monetario que lo sacaría de las deudas , y ese es uno de mis mayores problemas , el personaje del padre de Maya es de lo más e irresponsable, estamos hablando que este tipo le pide a un menor de edad que lo entrene , un menor que se enfrentó a cuatro criminales peligrosos para salvarlo, de la irresponsabilidad de sus deudas, todo esto para preparase para una competencia que él tipo no termina ganando, (por trampa pero aja ) y termina quedandose en el hospital casi a punto de morir (probablemente con una deuda grandísima) dejando a su hija también menor a cargo completo de un negocio a punto de cerrar y que encima tiene que cuidar de él, sorry pero no me conmueves , es un mal personaje. Y vamos con la escritura, parece que la película la hizo chat gpt ,de la forma más cliché, el malo es estereotipado, al igual que la chica e interés amoroso de Li, y por cierto hay un problema con el contexto, nunca te dicen que Li es casi que un prodigio en Kung fu, algo que hace que sea raro que inmediatamente que el bullying le de un paliza, a la escena siguiente Li está pateandole el trasero a 4 criminales (con bates ) y logra vencerlos y termina entrenando a un tipo mayor, si me pones una escena que me de un contexto que Li era tan prominente en el deporte como su hermano, o que el bullying lo reconoció como un alto deportista de elite de las artes marciales, simplemente hubiera bastado para darle más sentido a todo.

#La conexión con Cobra Kai

Decidieron darle una historia de precuela al personaje de Daniel, así que la película se ubica justo luego de la muerte de Miyagi, y antes que Daniel ponga su dojo , Daniel es visitado por el sr Han con la idea de unir la visión de Miyagi para que Li se prepare para la competencia, ya que con el padre de Maya en el hospital ,la pizzería está a punto de cerrar y al Sr Han de le ocurre que Li compita en el campeonato de artes marciales para ganar el premio y salvar el negocio, pero esto lo llevará a competir con su bullying, el otro deportista ex de Maya , que tiene mucho talento y parece superar a Li. La verdad si me gustó las escenas de Daniel y El Srm Han aunque son pocas pareció algo bonito ,y nos da ese momento de "Leyendas" que es lo que buscaba la película, pero que realmente con lo cliché del guión se va perdiendo. Y este es mi reclamo, si ya tenías la atención con la última temporada de Cobra Kai, que incluso si no me equivoco se dividió hasta en dos partes, y que trajo a un montón de cameos con personajes de las películas y de hecho hasta les renovo la carrera a la mayoría, aquí parece un desperdicio para mí, no usar esa línea de la historia, sí tan solo lo hubieran ambientado como una película después de la última temporada, eligiendo traer a la nueva generación de los actores de cobra Kai ,a pelear o estudiar con el Sr Han ,y enfrentándose a Li , hubiera sido más entretenido, aunque supongo que lo que querían hacer era no ligar a la nueva generación de cobra Kai , con la línea de la última película Karate kid y hacer algo original, para mí se siente como una película demasiado genérica y aburrida, y pensé que podía ser porque yo me esperaba algo que tuviera que ver más con el universo de cobra Kai, pero mi papá coincidio conmigo de que fue bastante aburrida y repetitiva ,y que no aportó nada nuevo, así que sí una decepción 🫤 , creo que con las locuras que se les ocurrió a para la sexta temporada de cobra Kai en dónde hubo hasta explosiones de barcos a lo rápidos y furiosos , que hicieran una película tan aburrida y escrita a lo seguro me pareció triste, le doy unos 2/5⭐ porque las escenas de peleas sí estuvieron geniales , y la mitad de los diálogos están en Mandarín algo que aprecié,pero me decepciono bastante lo demás , ustedes la vieron? De eso trata la película argentina Perdida, que data del año 2018, protagonizada por Luisana Lopilato y Amaia Salamanca, siendo ellas, dos amigas separadas por un suceso lamentable, en un viaje escolar a la región de la Patagonia.

Esta historia es un drama policial, en la cual la oficial de policía "Pipa", interpretada por Lopilato, se dedica a la investigación de una red de secuestros de niñas, víctimas de la llamada "trata de blancas", las cuales son obligadas a prostituirse.

Con un carácter volátil, Pipa, ha hecho de su trabajo, la manera de expiar la culpa que ha sentido desde entonces al perder a su amiga, además de seguir indirectamente en la búsqueda de respuestas sobre qué pasó con ella en aquel viaje escolar, de donde nunca regresó.

Aunque para el cuerpo policial el caso de Cornelia, su amiga, estaba cerrado, la inesperada visita de la madre de ésta, la lleva a reabrirlo por cuenta propia, encontrando nuevas pistas que generan el desarrollo de la trama, con un suspenso poco logrado.

Escenas de acción poco trabajadas, y unas subtramas que rayan en lo absurdo, terminan aburriendo al espectador, quien encuentra las respuestas a los hechos, sin necesidad de que avance la película.

La historia estuvo entretenida, aunque los diálogos fueron bastante pobres y predecibles, pero la aparatosa caída del final, dejan un muy amargo sabor de boca. De hecho, al revisar la ficha técnica en la página de Imdb, no me causó extrañeza que la hayan catalogado con un pobre 5,7 sobre 10.

Al final, los personajes se desdibujan en sentimentalismos, dejando de lado el sentido de la justicia, la redención de los culpables y la sed de verdad que presentaron al inicio de la trama.

Y ni siquiera el recurso de los ambientes y paisajes hermosos de la Patagonia fueron bien utilizados como para justificar los más de 100 minutos que dura la película.

The action scenes are poorly worked, and the subplots bordering on the absurd, end up boring the viewer, who finds the answers to the facts, without the need for the film to progress.

The story was entertaining, although the dialogues were quite poor and predictable, but the clumsy cliffhanger at the end left a very bitter taste in my mouth. In fact, when I checked the technical sheet on the Imdb page, I was not surprised that it was rated a poor 5.7 out of 10.

In the end, the characters are blurred in sentimentalism, leaving aside the sense of justice, the redemption of the guilty and the thirst for truth that they presented at the beginning of the plot.
