   The truth is that this anime was not on my radar, but thanks to the edits I found on social networks, I ended up falling into the trap. The first thing that grabbed me was its visual style: that aesthetic inspired by imperial China, with traditional clothes, palaces and rituals, it was simply beautiful🌸

   I went in expecting a romantic story, delicate, maybe a little cheesy... and what a surprise I got!🥰 What I found was sarcasm, double meaning comments, power games, tension disguised as protocol and a humor that I didn't expect. An anime that plays with silences, looks, and gestures more than big love scenes, but keeps you glued to the screen for all that is hinted at.

   And of course, once I started... goodbye outside world. I marathoned it like I had a date with royalty. Because yes, this anime is best enjoyed watching all the chapters, desserts in hand, and with the subtitles turned on so as not to miss any detail.

   La verdad es que este anime no lo tenía en el radar, pero gracias a los edits que encontraba en las redes sociales, terminé cayendo en la trampa. Lo primero que me atrapó fue su estilo visual: esa estética inspirada en la China imperial, con ropas tradicionales, palacios y rituales, era simplemente hermosa🌸

   Entré esperando una historia romántica, delicada, quizás algo cursi... y ¡qué sorpresa me llevé!🥰 Lo que encontré fue sarcasmo, comentarios con doble sentido, juegos de poder, tensión disfrazada de protocolo y un humor que no me esperaba. Un anime que juega con los silencios, las miradas, y los gestos más que con grandes escenas de amor, pero que te mantiene pegado a la pantalla por todo lo que se insinúa.

   Y claro, una vez empecé... adiós mundo exterior. Me hice un maratón como si tuviera una cita con la realeza. Porque sí, este anime se disfruta mejor viendo seguido todos los capítulos, dulces en mano, y con los subtítulos bien activados para no perder ningún detalle.

   Imagínate a una joven inteligente, sarcástica y experta en remedios naturales... que de repente termina trabajando dentro del palacio imperial, ese lugar donde hasta los suspiros tienen protocolo. Maomao no busca brillar, solo quiere seguir con su vida tranquila, mezclando hierbas y analizando venenos (como quien teje en su tiempo libre, pues)

   Entre juegos de poder, chismes de palacio, y diagnósticos médicos, Maomao se va ganando su lugar en un entorno que no estaba preparado para alguien como ella.    One of the great successes of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is its cast of characters. From the very first chapter, Maomao steals the show with her sharp sarcasm, her zero-delicate attitude and that dark vibe that distinguishes her so much. Not your typical sweet and gentle protagonist at all, she is a brilliant mind, somewhat cynical, with a fascinating black humor, and a curiosity for poisons that can only be described as.... alarmingly adorable. Throughout the seasons, we see how she gradually opens her little heart (just a little), understanding that, although the world is full of people... not so nice, there are others who do deserve her affection. One of the theories is that being born and raised in a brothel, every time she cried nobody paid attention to her, and, therefore, she learned that she had to swallow her tears and repress her emotions; moreover, this context was what made her so "wise" about the interactions between men and women, made her so cynical, and not so trusting of people.

   Uno de los grandes aciertos de Los Diarios de la Boticaria es su elenco de personajes. Desde el primer capítulo, Maomao se roba la atención con su sarcasmo afilado, su actitud cero delicada y esa vibra oscura que tanto la distingue. No es la típica protagonista dulce y apacible para nada, ella es una mente brillante, algo cínica, con un humor negro fascinante, y una curiosidad por los venenos que solo puede calificarse de... alarmantemente adorable. A lo largo de las temporadas, vemos cómo poco a poco abre su corazoncito (solo un poquito), entendiendo que, aunque el mundo esté lleno de personas... no tan agradables, hay otras que sí merecen su afecto. Una de las teorías que se maneja es que al nacer y criarse en un burdel, cada vez que lloraba nadie le prestaba atención, y, por ende, aprendió que debía tragarse las lágrimas y reprimir sus emociones; además, este contexto fue el que la hizo tan "sabionda" de las interacciones entre hombres y mujeres, la convirtió en alguien tan cínica, y sin tanta confianza en la gente.

   And what about Jinshi?✨ This character is quite an enigma. At first, he seems like the classic charming and perfect imperial official, but what a surprise we get when we get to know his true background. He is strong, cunning, with a character that sometimes despairs... but in the best sense. His relationship with Maomao is an exquisite mix of tension, provocation, mutual respect and constant spark. They make you scream at the screen at how frustrating they are at times, but they also have you grinning like a goofball. I adore them🩷

   And you can't talk about this series without honoring the large and colorful supporting cast. From the consorts and their ladies-in-waiting to the doctors, the guards, the courtesans of the pleasure district, they all add their touch to the unfolding story. Without them, the Inner Palace would not be as intriguing, nor Maomao's life as entertaining (or dangerous). Each one fulfills their role with personality and details that make them memorable. This story is alive because of all of them.

   ¿Y qué decir de Jinshi?✨ Este personaje es todo un enigma. Al principio parece el clásico funcionario imperial encantador y perfecto, pero vaya sorpresa nos llevamos al conocer su verdadero trasfondo. Es fuerte, astuto, con un carácter que a veces desespera... pero en el mejor sentido. Su relación con Maomao es una mezcla exquisita de tensión, provocación, respeto mutuo y chispa constante.    What caught my attention the most about this anime was the mix between mystery and medicine, with that particular humor that only Maomao can offer. Each case presented in the story hooks you, not only because of what is at stake, but also because of how our protagonist manages to solve it with intelligence, analysis, and scientific knowledge... in a time when, of course, it was not “well seen” for a woman to know so much. To all that we add the constant sarcastic tone, which gives a unique identity to the series and breaks any expectation that this would be simply a romance story.

   Lo que más me atrapó de este anime fue la mezcla entre el misterio y la medicina, con ese humor tan particular que solo Maomao puede ofrecer. Cada caso que se presenta en la historia te engancha, no solo por lo que está en juego, sino por cómo nuestra protagonista logra resolverlo con inteligencia, análisis, y conocimiento científico... en una época donde, claro, no era "bien visto" que una mujer supiera tanto. A todo eso le sumamos el tono sarcástico constante, que le da una identidad única a la serie y rompe cualquier expectativa de que esto sería simplemente una historia de romance.

   The setting is also a big plus: that Imperial and traditional China vibes, full of intrigues, power structures, courtly geography, rituals, and beautiful costumes that makes you feel inside a history book scented with herbs and medicinal gunpowder. And while romance may not be the main course, we can't ignore the simmering tension between Maomao and Jinshi. There is chemistry, there are sparks, and there are looks -and certain scenes- that say much more than a thousand words, but the best thing is that everything is simmered, without rushing, without clichés, which makes every interaction between them a little gift.

   La ambientación también es un gran punto a favor: esas vibras de la China Imperial y tradicional, lleno de intrigas, estructuras de poder, geografía cortesana, rituales, y vestuarios hermosos que te hace sentir dentro de un libro de historia con aroma a hierbas y pólvora medicinal. Y aunque el romance no sea el plato principal, no podemos ignorar la tensión latente entre Maomao y Jinshi.    Another element that I deeply loved was the animation. The drawing style is gorgeous, with soft colors, careful details in the settings and costumes that reflect the visual richness of Imperial China. I enjoyed the facial expressions of the characters too much, Maomao can go from a serious and sharp face to an adorable chibi mode with little cat ears when she is excited, upset or plotting something strange, which to me, seems to help a lot to follow the narrative tone. The anime plays with these visual changes cleverly, and manages to give even the most technical or slow scenes a special spark. The animation is so expressive that you don't need them to say much to know what they are thinking or feeling.

   Otro elemento que amé profundamente fue la animación. El estilo de dibujo es precioso, con colores suaves, detalles cuidados en los escenarios y vestimentas que reflejan la riqueza visual de la China Imperial. Disfruté demasiado las expresiones faciales de los personajes, Maomao puede pasar de una cara seria y afilada a un modo chibi adorable con orejitas de gato cuando está emocionada, molesta o tramando algo extraño, lo que a mí parecer, ayuda mucho a seguir el tono narrativo.    Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is one of those anime that arrive without making much noise, but end up stealing a piece of your heart (and your time, because you will want to marathon it). The best part is that it didn't come out of nowhere: it's based on a series of Japanese novels by Natsu Hyuuga, which was later adapted into manga, and from there into the anime we love so much today. If you like stories with mystery, sharp characters, simmering romantic sparks and a touch of traditional asian culture... this anime is for you🌸 And best of all: the third season has already been confirmed! So if you haven't seen it, this is the perfect time to join the club🍃.

It had been many years since I had fallen in love with an anime as I did with The Apothecary's Diaries. There I was, watching one episode after another, without stopping. Until I reached a point where they ended, and from May until this week, I waited week after week for the final episodes of the second season to find out the outcome of Maomao's story.

Tenía muchos años sin enamorarme de un anime como lo hice con Los Diarios de la Boticaria. Allí estaba yo, un capítulo tras otro, sin descansar. Hasta que llegué a un punto en que se terminaron, y desde mayo hasta esta semana, estuve semana tras semana esperando los últimos capítulos de la segunda temporada para saber el desenlace de la historia de Maomao.

   

   

   

   Maomao is an apprentice apothecary who was kidnapped and sold as a servant to the inner palace of the Chinese empire. This was where the emperor's concubines lived, and Maomao performed minor tasks until one of the concubines found out that she was an apothecary and transferred her to be her assistant. Her job was to taste the concubine's food to see if it was poisoned. Despite all the bad things about this job, Maomao loved to poison herself. Yes, she was out of her mind.

   The inner palace was populated mostly by women and eunuchs, as no man was allowed to enter unless he was the emperor or a member of the royal family. One of the characters inside this palace was Master Jhinsi, the eunuch in charge of ensuring the comfort of the emperor's concubines. He and Maomao begin a fun relationship based on unraveling the little mysteries that occur in the palace.

   I loved the pace of this series, and even though it's not an action series, I couldn't tear myself away from it. The little mysteries that Maomao unravels through her insightful knowledge of the ancient art of medicine and herbalism, thanks to her solid knowledge, give this type of narrative a new concept, as it's something we're not used to seeing.

I would really recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. It has a perfect plot, as it deals with mystery solving, you won't be left with loose ends, which makes it a well-rounded story. It has romance and is quite daring with a touch of spice. Maomao and Jhinsi have become two of my favorite characters; their chemistry when they are together makes my day so much better and makes me laugh out loud.

   I know that if you watch it, you'll love it as much as I did. It has two full seasons. So hurry up and watch it, you won't be disappointed.

   Además de esto, y aunque la historia no tiene nada que ver con alguna historia real, sí hay un contexto histórico en el que se basan para hablar de concubinas, cortesanas y como era la vida de esclavos y sirvientes de algún lugar en la historia de alguno de estos imperios. Con base en esto, además de divertirnos un poco, podemos advertir que hay un discurso en el que hay una observación acerca de como comerciaban con humanos, específicamente mujeres, en esta ocasión, con fines de servicio, ya fuera de cocina y limpieza, para las clases más pobres, o sexual, en el caso de las cortesanas. Incluso, en las clases altas, lo más alto a lo que podía llegar una mujer era ser una de las concubinas del emperador, y esto significaba, tener que darle hijos. Muchas veces, estas concubinas, apenas eran unas niñas. Así que, como podrán darse cuenta, también hablan de la pedofilia.

   La manera sutil en la que hablan de este tipo de luchas, de derechos de las mujeres, adaptados al contexto histórico, es una de las muchas razones por las que me quedé enamorada de esta serie.    In previous posts, I've mentioned that I'm not a fan of romance anime, but when you see so many references to an anime that in theory isn't your style, it still piques your curiosity, so I ventured to watch one that was apparently just romance, but I discovered that it also has historical drama and mystery, as well as a dose of humor that gives it an incredible balance.

   Kusuriya no Hitorigoto in English: The Apothecary's Diaries, originally a series of Japanese light novels written by Natsu Hyūga and illustrated by Touko Shino. Its success led to subsequent manga adaptations and then a TV anime adaptation.

   On the other hand, its historical setting which is something I love, since I am a fan of period series and seeing how they sought to recreate what the Tang dynasty was like, but instead of recreating the historical events exactly as they were, they created, let's say, an alternative reality and filled it with what is never lacking in any court: intrigue, betrayal, the desire for succession, and a touch of apothecary medicine to give it another nuance.

   It also has an engaging narrative. With many mysteries to solve, some of which pop up out of nowhere, I was glued to the screen, trying to solve them by observing every detail.

   Another strong point is its deep characters. As the anime progresses, we discover a little about each character's life, their pasts, their relationships with each other, and the decisions that led them to where they are.

   Another highlight is its music. Both the opening and ending themes are excellent and complement the charming animations.

   I can't leave out the moments when the detailed animation gives way to humor to express the reactions of some characters in a very graphic way, mainly those of Maomao and Jinshi in moments where they express emotion, joy, or disgust. You can't help but laugh, because sometimes that type of animation appears where you least expect it.

   So after watching the 24 episodes of each of its two seasons, I now understand why so many people love this anime, as it is truly a gem that I give a 9 out of 10.

   Ahora bien, que es lo encantador de este anime, primero su excelente animación es detallada, pulida y fluida. Los detalles que destacan de cada personaje los diferencia el colorido de ojos, cabello, ropa y hasta de los detalles a su alrededor.

   Por otro lado, su ambientación histórica, esto es algo que me encanta, puesto que soy amante de las series de época y ver como buscaron recrear a lo que fue la dinastía Tang, pero en lugar de recrear exactamente los eventos históricos como tal, crearon digamos que una realidad alternativa y la llenaron de lo que nunca falta en ninguna corte intrigas, traiciones, el afán por la sucesión y un toque de medicina boticaria para darle otro matiz.

   También posee una narrativa envolvente. Al tener muchos misterios por resolver y los que saltan a veces de la nada, me mantuvieron frente a la pantalla y hasta intentando resolverlos observando cada detalle.

   Otro fuerte son sus personajes profundos. A medida que avanza el anime, vamos descubriendo un poco de la vida de cada personaje, de sus pasados, de las relaciones de unos con otros y de las decisiones que los llevaron a donde están.

   Otro punto que destaca es su música. Los temas tanto de opening como de endings son excelentes y los complementan las animaciones encantadoras.

   No puedo dejar por fuera los momentos en los que la animación tan detallada da paso a lo jocoso para expresar de manera muy gráfica las reacciones de algunos personajes principalmente los de Maomao y Jinshi en momentos donde expresan emoción, alegría o disgusto, uno no puede evitar reírse, pues a veces ese tipo de animación aparece donde uno menos se lo espera.

   Así que después de ver los 24 capítulos de cada una de sus dos temporadas, ahora comprendo porque tantos aman este anime, ya que es de verdad una joya la que yo le doy un 9 de 10.

Se trata del ending del segundo corte de la segunda temporada de Kusuriya No Hitorigoto (Los Diarios de la Boticaria).

   

   I have watched the two seasons that have been released and I really don't regret for a second that I made that decision because this series is absolutely fascinating in every aspect of the work. For those who have not seen this anime I tell you in a general way that the story is about the adventures of Maomao, a young talented apprentice apothecary living in the Tang Dynasty era of imperial China, who is forced to work as a servant after being kidnapped and sold to the inner palace. Our protagonist is curious and very intelligent by nature, which is why she is ready to solve the many mysteries and enigmas inside the imperial city.

Nuestra protagonista es de naturaleza curiosa y muy inteligente, es por eso que está lista para resolver los muchos misterios y enigmas que hay dentro de la ciudad imperial.

In this case I took the original track, subtracted the bass with the help of the App. Moises to accompany with my own bass, and I also added an acoustic guitar to support the rhythm of the song.    I like stories with female protagonists, and when they have humor, I find them quite enjoyable. Plus, the fact that the character isn't someone weak and gives up easily makes me like it even more, because Maomao is very confident in who she is and what she does, and she doesn't let others make fun of her. It's also worth noting that the animation is very beautiful to look at; the colors, the details, the music—it's visually spectacular. If you're ever interested in watching an anime, I'd say this would be a great one to start with; it's quite calming.

   Me gustan las historias con protagonista femeninas y cuando tienen humor se me hace bastante agradable, además el hecho de que el personaje no sea alguien débil que se rinde fácilmente, me gusta aún más, pues Maomao es una chica muy segura de quien es y de lo que hace y no permite que otras personas se burlen de ella. También hay que destacar que la animación es muy bonita de ver, los colores, los detalles, la música, visualmente es espectacular. Si alguna vez están interesados en ver un anime, diría que este sería uno muy bueno para comenzar, es bastante tranquilo.

   Personally, I consider that the anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto has a little bit of everything, mystery, drama, a tone of romance not oversaturated, but light and that is developing very well; as well as the development of the plot, showing more depth to its characters that, without a doubt, at least two of them you will love. Maomao makes me a unique protagonist with a great insight that ends up captivating you, although you may feel her arrogant, uffs her attitude does not displease you at all, rather it enriches the character and yes, she analyzes herself well, I think that acting this way is also due to the historical context in which she finds herself, even when she contradicts herself and wants to pass as missing, emphasizing that she is a commoner, her nature as a doctor and the curiosity of wanting to learn, make her act without thinking, having a firmness in what she says and does.

   En lo personal, considero que el anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto tiene de todo un poco, misterio, drama, un tono de romance no sobresaturado, sino ligero y que se va desenvolviendo muy bien; así como el desarrollo de la trama, mostrando a mayor profundidad a sus personajes que, sin duda alguna, por lo menos a dos de ellos te encantaran. Maomao se me hace una protagonista única y con una gran perspicacia que te termina por cautivar, a pesar de que pueden que la sienta arrogante, uffs su actitud no te llega a desagradar para nada, más bien enriquece al personaje y si, se analiza bien, creo que actuar así también se debe al contexto histórico en el que se encuentra, aun cuando se contradice y desee pasar de desaparecida, recalcando que es una plebeya, su naturaleza de médico y la curiosidad de querer aprender, hacen que actúe sin pensarlo, teniendo una firmeza en lo que dice y hace.

   El estilo y la animación se me hacen hermosas y muy de acuerdo al ambiente por el que está inspirado; los openings super hermosos, nunca decepcionan, con una propuesta visual que enriquece la historia en muchos sentidos, además de que los momentos ligeros, con tonos cómicos, están muy bien ejecutados, porque equilibran los de tensión y misterios. Otra de las cosas que me gusta de Kusuriya, es que no te agobian con términos médicos que, en esa época eran manejados de forma distinta y que lleguen a complicar tu forma de verlo y entenderlo, pues aquí sucede todo lo contrario, la manera en cómo lo direccionan esta parte está muy bien logrado y en un tono más moderno, lo que hace entendible la trama y que se balancee muy bien con los casos a resolver, que cada vez son más intrigantes y entretenidos.

   The first season was pretty good and interesting, full of adventures and some romantic moments of our protagonists. I fully recommend this anime since it is quite good, it has comedy, romance, some action and a little bit of mystery apart from that it is easy to watch and understand, it is perfect for a relaxing night and a series marathon, also if you are one of those people who like to delve into stories, Light Novels along with manga are excellent options to get lost for a while in that world.

Recomiendo full este anime ya que es bastante bueno, tiene comedia, romance, algo de acción y un poquito de misterio a parte que es fácil de ver y entender, es perfecto para una noche de relajación y maratón de series, también si son de las personas que les gustan adentrarse en las historias las Novelas Ligeras junto con el manga son excelentes opciones para perderse un rato en ese mundo.

   Creo que mi ship favorito definitivamente es el de Maomao y Jinshi, hacen una excelente pareja aunque no se ha desarrollado como tal, en cuanto a las Novelas Ligeras ( escritas por Natsu Hyūga) son bastante interesantes, claro está que no los plasman igual cuando ves el anime, por eso recomiendo leer las novelas y el manga ✨

   A few days ago I watched the first season of the anime The Apothecary Diaries, I had no reference about it other than a video on social media that I found interesting, in my mind I thought it would be a “cute” anime, without this being derogatory in any way, I am referring to romantic style animes that are like a breath of fresh air for the soul because they do not have major complications in the plot and are good for when one just wants peace, quiet and pretty things on screen, but it turned out that The Apothecary Diaries does not belong to that group, because it is full of many mysteries to solve and it has the perfect dose of comedy as well as a very beautiful aesthetic, I simply loved it.

   Hace pocos días vi la primera temporada del anime Los diarios de la boticaria, no tenía ninguna referencia acerca de esta más que un video de redes sociales que me pareció interesante, en mi mente pensé que sería un anime “lindo”, sin que esto sea despectivo en ningún sentido, me refiero a los animes de estilo romántico qué son como un aire fresco para el alma pues no tienen mayores complicaciones en la trama y son buenos para velos cuando uno solo quiere paz, tranquilidad y cosas bonitas en pantalla, pero resultó ser que los Diarios de la boticaria no pertenece a ese grupo, pues esta lleno de muchos misterios que resolver y tiene la dosis perfecta de comedia además de una estética muy bella, simplemente me encantó.

Sin embargo, aún al día de hoy se recuerda como uno de los mejores animes que han sido emitidos el año pasado, incluso en Crunchyroll tiene una de las mejores calificaciones que se le puede dar un anime en la actualidad (y eso ya es decir mucho ahora con tanta variedad de animes que existen).

   Y es sorprendente, la verdad, que un anime con una trama tan sencilla como esta sea una de las obras animadas más aclamadas de la historia actualmente. Yo, en lo personal, me lleve una tremenda sorpresa ya que no esperaba nada de este anime cuando la empecé a ver en emisión. Sin embargo, tanto su animación, historia y personajes me engancharon por completo por los 6 meses que duró. Y es que la combinación tan perfecta de drama, comedia, suspenso y psicología es increíble. Casos y situaciones que te ponen a pensar, secretos que te vuelan la cabeza e historias que te dejan con el cora en la mano.

It can be said that, although its comedy and animation is sublime and very entertaining, this anime is not for everyone, since many times we are involved in situations that can traumatize us for life. On the other hand, if it is true that we see something like a "love story", the relationship that Maomao has with Jinshi is one of my favorites, since the chemistry they have is both funny and contagious. All in all, an anime that grips as much for the story as it does for its animation or characters.

   Personally, I give it a well-deserved 9.5/10 rating for the drama and comedy genre.

   Y es dicha simpleza de este anime la que la llevó a la cima, claro con una calidad de animación tan espectacular que solo Toho Animation Studio sabe hacer. Por otro lado, el desarrollo de los personajes principales, los secretos que estos poseen y el trasfondo que muchas veces nos dejan en algunos casos es espectacular. Este es uno de esos animes que te dejan pensando bastante para luego quedarte maravillado por lo increíble que es. Entre mis personajes favoritos, Maomao es, sin lugar a dudas, mi favorita. Y es que como protagonista realiza un excelente trabajo, con su excentricidad, fetiches con hacerse daño siempre para probar distintos tipos de venenos y sus gustos tan peculiares la hacen ser un personaje único en su estilo, de los mejores personajes que he conocido en mi vida.

   Por último, un detalle que me encanta bastante de este anime es la variedad de temas que trata. Si bien la historia se envuelve en un sinnúmero de casos que tanto Maomao como la misma corte imperial tratan de resolver, estos tratan temas muy serios y fuertes en la actualidad. Se puede decir que, si bien su comedia y animación es sublime y muy entretenida, este anime no es para todo el mundo, ya que muchas veces nos vemos envueltos en situaciones que nos pueden traumar de por vida. Por otro lado, si es cierto que vemos algo parecido a una “historia de amor”, la relación que posee Maomao con Jinshi es de mis favoritas, ya que la química que tienen es tanto divertida como contagiosa. En fin, un anime que atrapa tanto por la historia como por su animación o personajes.

   Personalmente, le doy una muy merecida calificación de 9.5/10 en lo que respecta al género del drama y la comedia.

    After a lifetime of actively avoiding the romance anime genre, my recent watches would make it seem as though I’m actively looking for it. Although after watching them I’ve had nothing but smiles about them, especially this one…

    The Apothecary Diaries

I started watching this anime because of boredom and its one of the numerous series my sister put on my laptop when I wasn’t around. > Now looking at them… they’re actually a lot….

    Regardless, I recognized the anime name because it did make a lot of impact last year when it came out. Hence by 2am in the morning, drove by boredom and curiosity, I started this show with the most blank mind-set I’ve ever had before watching anything. All I have to say is that this show was enjoyable, truly, truly enjoyable… A lot of aspects of the show blended together to give it a refined funny look.

    What I Liked

    *** ##### - The Animation  This show had wonderful animation. The use of colours and the beautifully drawn faces make the characters seem heavenly and gave the show a bright welcoming look. The colours and scenes also helped give out a certain piece of the show, depicting the feudal times, times of emperors, chieftains and kings. Emperors are from Chinese ancestry (I think), so it was shocking seeing it in a Japanese way. The animation takes a whole new form when showing its comic sides. Shifting from the sharp faces like bleach into the playful round comic gags of less serious anime’s. I liked this because it made the funny, sarcastic scenes much more enjoyable and funny to watch.  *** ##### - The Mysteries  I haven’t watched a lot of detective animes. To be honest, I know only two shows off head that would fit in that genre. I watched and loved Bunguo stray dogs and don’t have any intention of even starting Detective Conan _{*the sheer amount of episodes is discouraging*}, yet this is the first show that really made me feel like I’m watching a detective show. Bunguo stray dogs overall had one villain and one goal at the end, the show shifted from detective to a normal shounen battle against the good and the bad. Although originally having missions and detective work in the beginning of the show, it really wasn’t something that made viewers interested in the thought process. > Most people just wanted to see the fights.

    

    This show’s mysteries are truly enjoyable to watch. Mou Mou’s way of tackling and solving the problems were interesting to watch. The fact that it was that interesting with little to no violence is truly commendable.

    - Relationships

    In this show, it’s clear that the main ship is the one between Jhyshi and Mau Mau. Jhyshi, the young overly beautiful emperor’s brother posing as an “eunuch” that is in love with Mau Mau, the first girl that doesn’t care for his looks and seems disgusted and irritated by his presence. The relationship is the source of numerous comical gags that I almost feel sorry for the guy. It is clear that they will later end up together later on but it feels like a bumpy comedy filled ride ahead and I’m actually interested on joining that ride.

    Hola amigos de AnimeRealm feliz viernes, un gusto pasar por esta comunidad y hablarles de un anime que me encanto mucho bueno sigo viendo ya que está en su primera temporada, ya han pasado sus primeros 12 capítulos y sigue en emisión, ciertamente un anime encantador me recordó mucho al anime que le comente la semana pasada Saiunkoku Monogatari por eso fue que lo aprecie de una pero si tiene sus diferencias sobre todo en el enfoque de la temática y manejo de los personajes pero con la historia de la época y la vida de las mujeres en ella, se trata de Kusuriya no Hitorigoto también conocido como los diarios de una boticaria.

    Es cautivar, el opening es genial, la dinámica de los personajes es buena, divertida y las ocurrencias o doble sentido que hay es genial porque te hará reír mucho, es un anime que a medida que avanza promete y trae muchos secretos a descubrir, como dije sigue en emisión, pero como es un anime bueno en mi opinión claro quise recomendarlo de una para que puedan disfrutar del mismo con las ocurrencias de MaoMao y Jinshi, una pareja poco común pero hermosa, cada una cambiara la vida del otro.
