  1. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet [Let's Play] - 38 - Itsuki's Confession@ahmadmanga257d

Fatal Bullet is a mainline title of the Sword Art Online game series. It's set Hollow Realization in a yet another brand new VRMMO game, one focused on Guns instead of Swords: Gun Gale Online! Fatal Bullet follows a new set of characters, with Kirito and his friends taking the supporting role for once.

Out of any SAO game, this is the one I wanted to play the most. For me, this game offers the best of both RPG gameplay systems and shooting mechanics. I enjoyed the Aim Assist system, and the PvE team battles. Though the most important reason for choosing Fatal Bullet over other SAO video game titles, is that I enjoy the prospect of playing as my own character. Sword Art Online is at its best when Kirito plays the support role in my opinion.

This game isn't perfect, though. The graphics are barely serviceable, and itsn't well-optimized. I used the Better Graphics Mod to fix that. The main storyline is good if a bit sparse. But side-quests, and character events are repetitive and dare I say, Boring! It's as if all the budget was spent on voice-acting. Still, the main gameplay loop is great, and best suited for two-hours daily sessions.

This is my Let's Play/Walkthrough of the game's Main Story mode. This will cover Single Player content only. I won't be uploading my grinding/item farming sessions. I hope you enjoy watching!

    38 - Itsuki's Confession

"That's right... Yoyu can't hide your feelings in VR..." -- Itsuki

The protagonist has a one-to-one talk with Itsuki who left the party mid-way... He confesses that he sees me as a true friend, and he's sad that for the protagonist, he's only one of many friends and not special.

I was moved by this scene and I'm happy they used a trait of SAO anime/novel that in VR, your happiness and sadness always show on your Avatar, you can't hide them...

Another big thing that happens in this session is Kureha's declaration. She feels inferior to the protagonist so she decides to remove herself from our friends list, and be on her own for a while... Ouch!

If two big things happening wasn't enough, Kirito comes and reveals that a bunch of NerveGears have been stolen, and since these things are capable of killing people, the culprit must be Death Gun... This is where Kirito Mode opens, and I can play it before the next part of the game. I decided not to.

    37 - Mother Claudia

I like this part of the game. Our party fights one last boss to let ArFA-Sys reunite with her mother. Then, Mother Claudia thanks us for saving her, and carves our Squadron name forever on her system!

Kirito makes a remark that catches Itsuki's attention: "For you and ArFA-Sys this was more than a game!" I didn't think much of it, but this was a small foreshadowing for the next part of the game...

Everyone was partying when they noticed that Itsuki went away, and there's a rift happening between Kureha and my player character...

    36 - Core System

I finally reached the next dungeon in the story. It took a while, and a few bosses but I reached the Core System. ArFA-Sys' mother is just at the end of the room.

Sadly, she's corrupted, and we have to fight a boss while ArFA-Sys is connected to her. I left the area and will try this next session...

    35 - The Last Key

This session was mostly fighting in dungeons, but I also progressed the story quite a bit. We went for the final key to access the next area for SBC Flugel, and I got it by the end of the session...

Though, while our squadron was the first to get the key, the intel for how to get the keys is already out. If we don't hurry, some squadron might beat SBC Flugel quest before us... Not that it'll happen in this single player game, haha~

Another thing I did in this session was talking with other characters about their issues, especially Kureha.

    34 - Death Gun

This is where the game Fatal Bullet and the anime SAO converge. The actual villain of GGO's arc in the anime, Death Gun, finally appears!

The original cast of SAO Fatal Bullet meet in a cafe watching TV, when Death Gun appears and starts threatening the person on the TV that he'll kill him with this gun. He shoots the TV, and the person on TV just dies of heart attack....

While the friends discuss this, Kirito messages them and tells them to stop playing this game, as there were two cases of people dying in the game and in real life so far, possibly more...

The technology of AmuSphere, the device used to run GGO is proven to be safe and has no capability of killing people, so Kirito thinks something else is happening...

We promise each other to be more careful.

I think they did a good job tying in the anime plot to this game's.

I switched to Easy Mode. The game started taking too long for me, and I wanted to finish the main story, (plus I struggled in this part,) so Easy Mode it is!

After a few battles, and a mini-boss, we reach the next area in SBC Flugel, but the team decided to rest for the day, refill ammo and stuff so we'll continue next time. If I didn't do some grinding first...

Another session, another dungeon... This time, I try to beat the next dungeon to progress the story. There's no actual story here, but it's still required to complete!

By this point, I've seen most of the enemy types this game has to offer. Even the dungeon's boss is a rehash of one of the previous bosses. I haven't played the DLC, yet, but I hope it has more enemy types in it, and not just rehashes of the enemies I'm seeing here...

We went to Argo for intel, and Kureha was the one who paid for it...

After that I did some more grinding and side-questing...

No story progress in this session... After finding SBC Flugel area challenging, I decided to grind a bit...

I played multiple quests this session. Nothing major, some of the quests I even managed to beat on autopilot while aiming for other quests. Especially the "??? Enemy Hunt" quests.

The gameplay loop of SAO Fatal Bullet is so fun that grinding doesn't feel as bad as normal RPG games. What do you guys think?

  13. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet [Let's Play] - 26 - Flugel Infiltration@ahmadmanga267d

    26 - Flugel Infiltration

After doing some side quests last time, I finally go to SBC Flugel and explore this new area. The goal is to find ArFA-Sys mother and let them reunite.

Random enemies are way stronger here than before, this truly feels like a final dungeon of a sort.

Interestingly, Ituski started acting weird starting this mission...

This time, I don't progress the story, opting for some side-questing instead...

One character event I played this session is Sinon event. She goes on a quest to get a rare sniper weapon, and she wanted my help to get it. The battle took longer than I thought it would...

My favorite scene is when she's trying to snap the boss after we fought it. Look at the budget:

In this session I continue my fight with the Gate Keeper. As I said in the previous Let's Play session, my strategy is to fight from afar and let my other characters distract enemies, but in this fight I only had myself and ArFA-Sys in my team. The battle was difficult.

After the fight we tell our friends about winning, and unlock the new area for the whole team! We create our own Squadron!

    23 - ArFA-Sys Doubts

This session was interesting. Difficult, but very fun!

As the ship called SBC Flugel landed, ArFA-Sys was happy that she'll finally meet her mother. But when we got there, the ship's security system blocked us off...

Apparently, the boss was unwinnable, as Kirito realized mid-battle...

ArFA-Sys had some doubts and ran away somewhere. After self-reflection, and heart-to-heart with the protagonist, we got her confidence back!

We also learned that for the event to unlock, ArFA-Sys should only bring her master, and no other player with her. After learning that, we fought the boss again.

It was really hard fighting it with only two characters. I usually use the other characters as distraction while fighting from afar, but with only ArFA-Sys with me, it was hard not to play the distraction role... I didn't win against it in this session, but I'll try again!

This session I spent grinding monsters in the Old South area... I was destroyed by one of the monsters there. He It killed the whole team in less than a minute.

Other than that, I fought many other monsters. Named, and nameless. Finished a lot of monster hunting quests...

I didn't progress the story, but considering how underleveled I am in this area, I think I'll continue grinding here a bit more before targeting more story progress!

    19 - Double Boss

Today, we explore a new area. SBC Flugel is supposed to appear around here, I think... This area has a few new quests and monster hunting missions.

At one point while exploring, I encountered two named monster bosses at the same time. Mjoinlr and Hidden Seeker. One of them would be challenging to fight, but two at the same time was very hard, and very enjoyable!

The battle took a while compared to how I usually take in SAO Fatal Bullet... I'm glad I brought my best team for this exploration...

After this battle, I explored a new dungeon and fought the bosses there, but this double boss was the highlight of this gaming session!

This session I take a rest from the story for a bit, and do some character events... I first stumble upon Agil, (whom I keep referring to as Tiff inside my brain,) and help him create new equipment!

Another Affection Event I played was Kirito's, his was about a Treasure quest in game. The third event was Kureha's and her personal life/relatioship with her sister.

What I don't like about these events is how they barely feature any animation. Only a lot of dialogue. They feel low-budget compared to the rest of the game.

In this session I finish the quest for getting the rest of ArFA-Sys' parts... I had to beat another boss, but luckily, it wasn't too hard.

The name 'Dirty Scissor' is catchy, I wouldn't expect this monster to look like this judging by the name...

After getting the final part, ArFA-Sys becomes more "wordly" and apparently that means having more emotions to choose from in her customization menu. That's interesting, I guess...

We get our next destination, the Lighthouse in the middle of the desert. I fought there a bit in this session, but I was killed. I was a little-bit under-leveled...

  25. Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet [Let's Play] - 12 - Underground Labyrinth@ahmadmanga281d

    12 - Underground Labyrinth

This session, I go to the next dungeon. Underground in the desert area. I like how different this area looks from the Remnant Wasteland, and the Desert Area above it.

I also enjoyed the fight against the boss here. Instead of fighting us itself, the boss summoned enemies to fight us in its place, and it can only be attacked while it's summoning new ones.

One of the most memorable moments from this session is fighting "Underground Rouge." A tiny sword weilding enemy robot. The fight was really fun, I laughed in panic as I was chasing him.

11 - Discovering the Sand Dungeon

After some Weapon upgrading in Lizbeth's shop, I spent most of this session exploring the desert area I just unlocked. It's full of bugs/bees. I didn't encounter many Sand Worms like I did last time, but I encountered new enemies.

No story progress this time as I only explored the area near the enterance, (and I think I went the wrong way,) but I like the aesthetics of this place!

P.S.: I love the look of Palm trees in this area.

This time we meet Spiegel, and if you're an anime watcher, you'd know his role in the Gun Gale Online arc. I didn't like how the game made him more passive aggressive. I remember him being more pleasant in the anime, at least on first encounter. Oh, well...

After that, we go to the next area: The desert. We fight a lot of worms here, among bugs and other things.

We continue the story mission which will have us go to the next area, but first we have to defeat the boss of Remnant Wasteland... That was simple enough to accomplish.

I this session I continue braving the dungeon to get the next part for ArFA-Sys... I did some shopping, and changed my main weapon to be a Sniper Rifle. I love how I can easily gun enemies from afar with a weapon like that...

The dungeon was fun, especially with all the sniping I got to do.~

After finishing the dungeon, ArFA-Sys says that the part we acquired "makes her cuter" and with further explanation we realize she meant being able to change her outfits... So when I next edited her equipment, I gave her a cute ribbon.

The first part of this session I spent exploring the wasteland, and fighting sub-bosses there... I died a few times!

Next is the ArFA-Sys character-event, and this time is about establishing a "Kizuna" with the main character, which for some reason the game translate to "rapport" in English.

Rapport (noun): a close and harmonious relationship in which the people or groups concerned understand each other's feelings or ideas and communicate well.

For an AI, ArFA-Sys is really dumb, and way too emotional... It's almost funny how SAO writers write their AI characters. For example, Yui is basically a child, Strea is a flirtatious girl, and now ArFA-Sys is a an airhead!

    1 - Prologue

In this session, I play the Tutorial missions. I get the feel for the game, the battle systems and got introduced to characters. Kureha, the childhood friend of the protagonist, (me AHMD,) Itsuki, the best player in the game, and ArFA-Sys, my loyal AI companion.

The storyline is kind of cheesy, and characters are taking the VRMMO and AI NPCs way too seriously, (even more so than the SAO anime,) which is something, I guess. Still, I like ArFA-Sys' ditzy personality...Oh, and Kirito is there, and for once, he's not the game's main character.

Kureha seems to be the main heroine of this game, and I'm excited to see where her character goes...

Anyway, I played the game for quite long in this session. I knew what I was doing because this is the second time I play this mission. My first tutorial playthrough wasn't recorded... By the time I publish this, I already finished the main storyline, (not the true ending, though,) but I'd still like to discuss the game with you guys some more.

  37. Anime Review: Sword Art Online@justfavour316d

Sword Art Online is one anime that piqued my interest from the first episode till the last. Of course, there were some unnecessary scenes, but in general, the anime impressed me a lot. I have a long-list of anime to watch and interestingly, Sword Art Online is not the next on the list. I stumbled upon it by chance and it caught my attention and then I proceeded to download it. I don’t know what other anime lovers are saying out there, but this one right here is an underrated anime. It is like a gem that has not been discovered by many people. The anime is set in the year 2022 when everyone was obsessed with video games. In the midst of all other video games, a particular virtual reality game called Sword Art Online is released.

This game is not your usual VR game. Players have to wear a headset called Nerve gear which transports them into the game, so they are physically present in it. They play the game as their own characters. You don’t feel physical pain in the game and you can long out anytime you want. Well, not until the creator of the game, Akihito Kayaba changes the whole narrative. The players soon realize that the logout button is missing. Akihito Kayaba appears to them in the game and reveals shocking information; the players are tapped in the game, meaning they cannot log out and the only way to complete the game is to clear all 100 floors of the floating castle. What is more concerning is that if the players die in the game, they also die in real life.

    [Source](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2250192/mediaviewer/rm3625351424/?ref_=ttmi_mi_33_2)

The anime revolves around Kirito, one of the players who is trapped in the game. He is a solo player who goes around leveling up and getting stronger. As the story progresses, Kirito finds himself in the midst of friends. Unfortunately, he lost his squad; people who were close to him and genuinely cared about him. Will Kirito and the other players manage to clear all 100 floors? How many people will they have to lose to the monsters for them to finally reach the 100th floor? Watch the anime to find out.

    [Source](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2250192/mediaviewer/rm2386741505/?ref_=ttmi_mi_14_1)

One thing I love about Sword Art online is that it blends both action and romance. I’m more into action-themed anime than romance themed anime. But I love it more when both niches blend. Sword Art Online primarily focuses on leveling up, defeating monsters and trying to complete the game. However, in the midst of this, there are beautiful love stories. For example, Kirito meets Asuna, a beautiful and intelligent player, and establishes a relationship with her. Not only does she help in battles, she also becomes his reason to live.

I also like the fact that Kirito, the main character, is not overpowered. That would have ruined the whole thing. I totally enjoyed watching Sword Art Online and I recommend it to other anime lovers.

Have you seen this anime? What are your thoughts on it?

  38. Sword Art Online: A Game of Life and Death - Review@rayhanhiveman368d

    Sword Art Online

    credit

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Today, I will be reviewing "Sword Art Online". It's now one of my favourite because of the unique storyline. I love to see animes related to video games. So, if you are a gamer then you are going to love this anime series.

If you watch the trailer you're gonna have a good idea about the anime, as the protagonist you see he is wearing a gear helmet which connects with his nerves and helps him to enter the virtual world. One of the most powerful anime I have ever seen.

Creator: Reki Kawahara Release date: July 8, 2012 Season: 1 Episodes: 25 Genre: Action, Adventure, Romance, Sci-fi

    Plot

The story follows the life of "Kirito" he is a skilled gamer, one day he was playing a virtual reality MMORPG called Sword Art Online and he got trapped in the game along with other real players. After that players could not log out of the game and there's an announcement about if the players die in the game, they die in real life too. Kirito always has been a solo player but he ends up teaming up with Asuna.

    credit

They both start to navigate the game's challenges and fought the monsters to survive as they had to clear the levels in order to escape the game. The story explores different type of themes such as friendship, love, and the dark side of technology, as Kirito and Asuna make great efforts to clear the game. They progressed a lot in the game as they encountered many type of characters and ultimately grew deeper connections. The relationship deepens between Asuna and Kirito.

Sword Art Online has an unique concept that is engaging because it sparks curiosity, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. There are so many intense scenes that they seem almost tangible. The tension during emotional moments cannot be described. Kirito was a lone wolf, but later he became a protective partner. The female lead, Asuna, is seen from the beginning as a skillful and powerful player. She is someone who is a perfect partner for Kirito.

    credit

If I talk about the animation, then I must say that it is visually stunning. The end of Season 1 left us wanting more from their stories. Overall, Season 1 is a captivating adventure because, back in the day, stories like this were rare to see. To me, Kirito and Asuna's journey is going to remain iconic. This anime is one of the best because of its exploration of love and friendship in a virtual world.

The opening song is so inspiring, I feel so energetic whenever I hear this music it felt like I was in my own battlefield. I wanted to share this iconic song with you all, hope you enjoy.

Lastly I want to say that for at least once you must try watching this anime because it is a masterpiece.

    Thanks for Reading

  39. SAO (Sword Art Online) [Anime] ESP/ENG@bethyjade383d

Lavender Cute Floral Night Sky Girl Quote Desktop Wallpaper.jpg

Hello Hello, people of #Theanimerealm! I still don't understand how is it that I have spent so much time without talking to you about this anime, which I consider one of my favorites for everything it implies, since as a gamer I have always dreamed of an artificial intelligence like the one shown in this anime, in fact I think this would be the dream of any anime, but anyway, without further ado let me tell you what this is about.

    nuevo.png

The story tells us about Kirito (Kasuto Kirigaya) a lonely boy who prefers video games to have a more realistic lifestyle, at some point he meets the game that gives its name to the anime Sword Art Online which consists of a hundred-story building where players start in the first, but the most attractive thing about this game is that its artificial intelligence is so advanced that players enter a kind of trance while they are playing (anyone can see them in real life lying with their eyes closed and a helmet with wires connected to their heads) but in the game they are active, However, the scariest thing is that just before starting the game, the creator of the game announced that everyone would be locked up and in order to get out they had to reach level one hundred, but to top it off, if they died in the game, they died in real life.

I watched this anime a long time ago but I remember how exciting I found this premise because it was out of the ordinary, what I was used to seeing in other anime, I also liked that it encouraged teamwork, because if you wanted to advance a level you couldn't do it on your own, all players had to join forces to beat the level boss and thus could advance to the next one. This certainly encourages teamwork but at the same time it is scary to think that when you beat someone you are really killing them, there is no chance of a restart for that person, in fact the death of Sachi (one of the characters) leaves a great psychological aftermath on Kirito.

On the 50th floor Kirito meets Asuna (my favorite character) again and they both solve a murder case, but they don't see each other again for two years (time that elapses in the game) and there we realize that Asuna has increased her abilities and is the leader of a brotherhood, something that sounds very familiar to me since I have played many games with that collaborative dynamic in which you must form brotherhoods or groups where each member has a different ability and must have a specific role, organizing and planning strategies to win.

I must warn you that the pace of this anime is a bit slow, the story gets repetitive at times and I feel that the lack of variety in the enemies and scenarios affected my experience in a certain way, even so in general terms, if you take it as a whole I can say that it is a very entertaining anime. In other aspects the anime explores very deep themes such as the consequences of one's actions, the impact of virtual reality on everyday life, loneliness and trauma

  40. Sword Art Online: The Blend of Sci-Fi and Fantasy - Review@rayhanhiveman400d

    Sword Art Online

    credit

Today I will review an old anime called Sword Art Online. It's an anime that was suggested by my niece, as she's an anime lover, and so am I. This is a science fiction anime, which is my favorite genre. There are adventurous elements, and we also get to see some action. I have only watched season 1, and it was a really good journey. For that reason, I am here to introduce you all to this anime.

In the trailer, it is explained that people are wearing gear to enter a virtual world, and those who are playing cannot lose their HP; if they do, they will die in real life as well. To make an exit, the players must clear the game, and our main protagonist is a boy named Kirito. There's also another character, a girl named Asuna. The trailer looked amazing; I understood the story, and I really wanted to watch it after seeing the trailer, as I have never seen anything like this before. This is nothing like the old stories, and although this anime is very old, it was thoughtful to make an anime like this.

Creator: Reki Kawahara Release date: July 8, 2012 Episodes: 25

    Plot

The story begins with a boy playing game with a helmet gear and he lays on bed to start the game which is completely done with brain as it is connected to the nerves of the brain. He was a beta tester in the game and one day he gets stuck in the game there was no option to exit the game. All the players started to panic a announcement happened it was told that all of them has to survive till the end of the game otherwise they will be dead in real life also if the helmet is removed in real life they will still die and the only way out is to play the game until the end. In Kirito's journey he mets up with many people and makes new friends.

    Review

    credit

This anime is outstanding and beyond imagination, with a fantastic storyline and strong characters. The female lead is as strong as our male lead, which was really good to see, as we don't often see female leads being strong enough. This is a great anime to start with and something to end with. As the anime is based on a game, which is the most interesting part, we get to see so many cool features. When I watched this anime, I imagined playing a game like this too. This didn't feel like just a game but a war against the game developer. People getting trapped in a game is really scary; if something like that happened in real life, it would be really crazy.

    credit

I feel lucky enough to experience an anime like this. I really don't care about the ratings of the anime; in my honest opinion, I would give it 10/10, as it's the best anime I have watched so far. The intro and outro had really good music, which fascinates me. There were some parts where I laughed and some where I felt emotional. It was too good to handle.

    Thanks for Reading

  41. Sword Art Online: From Triumph to Disappointment@zoe01446d

    credits

    Spoilers ahead!

Today, I'll be discussing an anime that I liked at first but somehow ended up disappointing me. The name of the anime is Sword Art Online. I hope you have heard of it. It's a virtual game-based anime about a boy named Kirito who gets stuck in a game. All the other players are also trapped in the game, and whoever dies in the battlefield dies in real life. Everyone is wearing a gear helmet to connect with the game, and this helmet is the main connection to the human body.

    credits

Our main protagonist, Kirito, hides his level in the game. On his journey, he meets a girl named Asuna. He starts to join battles with her, and each time, Kirito shows excellent performance. However, he has to conceal his level so he can stay low and not reveal too much of his skills. Otherwise, people would feel unfair as Kirito said he is just a mere player. credits

The story was going fine, and it was something new. This anime is very old; Season 1 was released in 2012, at a time when this type of anime was hardly seen. What I liked about this anime was its animation and storyline. It was something different. I have always wanted to play a game where I can physically feel my presence and do everything on my own. I've rarely liked story games because I don't get to choose what I want. I don't like options; I like freedom in games. So, Sword Art Online was showing the type of game I wanted. But that doesn't mean that if I die in a game, I would want to die in real life too.

    credits

I loved the chemistry between Asuna and Kirito, their bond grew gradually there was no rush. I really wanted to see them together even when they are out of the game. Whenever, I saw them together I felt overwhelmed. They both were living like a husband and wife. I felt their connection was genuine.

    credits

The most heartbreaking part was when Asuna was captured and could not return to the real world. It made me sad, and I also felt anger. Anyway, I have always shipped them together, so I've always wanted a happy ending. The main protagonist was really a cool character; I liked his dialogue and every part he played. The fighting scenes were insane—I could barely take my eyes off them.

    credits

Season 1 accomplished all my desires, but then when Season 2 came along, I became very disappointed. It felt like I was watching a harem anime, with all the girls wavering around Kirito. I did not like it much, as the story was not very interesting anymore. It always felt like Sword Art Online should have ended at Season 1 because the other seasons did not make the impactful impression I had before.

    credits

I am not satisfied with the other seasons; I feel that they could have done something better, but it turned into something else. I had high expectations for season 2, but all my expectations went to waste. I really don't like the other seasons; the storyline is not that good. I wish they had worked harder on seasons 2 and 3. I would rate season 1 a 10 out of 10, but I do not prefer to rate the other seasons.

I really loved the song selections for SAO; they were mesmerizing. Whenever I heard the songs, I felt so good about them. One of my favorites is Innocence - Eir Aoi. I would say you should also give it a try.

Anyway, this was my personal opinion. You might like the other seasons of Sword Art Online, but I personally wouldn't recommend them to others, except for season 1.

    Thanks for reading 🌷

  42. Sword Art Online 「ソードアート・オンライン」 (2012, 25 episodes) + Sword Art Online Movie: Ordinal Scale (2017)@onlyjob556d

The show begins with a player being stuck in a Virtual Reality (VR) game, having to play it to completion in order to return to physical world with his life. However, we learn that protagonist does not care about reality and he is not feeling attached to it. He plays the game well precisely because it is literally his life, as a perfect escape from reality. By episode 15 the game is concluded and surviving players return to reality. Protagonist then immediately re-enters another VR game (made as remake of the original one) with his old account hence starting the game with advanced skills and powerups from previous game, being literally the strongest player. Guess if he wins the game again? Of course he does! And IMHO the only redeeming quality of the first season is that protagonist finds his love in the game, whom he later meets in real life hence finally getting something to live for.

The mediocre story would not be particularly good if not for its movie continuation. In fact, if the first season is worth watching at all, then it is for preparation for a movie where the story develops into something interesting:

After spending years on hospital bed in coma (while his mind played VR game), protagonist struggles to adjust to reality. How does he cope with VR addiction, physical rehabilitation and other issues? He plays another game, this time an augmented reality game where he have to move his physical body so he is not the strongest player any more and his game performance is average. That 3rd game portrayed in the movie is impressive and within the reach of current (or near future) technology. Yet protagonist resents it and even makes a philosophical case against augmented reality with university professor, explaining that unlike VR games that let you experience different worlds, augmented reality games are worse because they spoil the reality. IMHO that makes the movie worth watching as it have everything to satisfy viewer -- action, drama, romance, story, philosophy, good questions, impressive visuals and interesting concept of the game.

  43. The Rise Of Isekai with Sword Art Online [ENG/ESP]@seki1700d

Isekai is a genre of anime that has been around for quite a while, before it was mostly ignored, looked weirdly at and even ridiculed, but now it's as big as the two main genre's Shounen and Seinen. There are numerous show's that helped cement its claim as one of the main three genres of anime but without a doubt the anime that truly started the Isekai movement campaign is none other than Sword Art Online.

    Sword Art Online ⚔️

*** ### Plot > Its the year 2022 and gaming along with technology is about to take a huge leap forward with the arrival of the full dive gear, humanity's vehicle into the virtual world. The full dive gear is a technology that was created for the fantasy game Sword Art Online, notable thousands across the world and in stores, shops and lines just to get a copy of the game and a look into the virtual world. It was a dream come through for gamers, being able to portray their characters and actually move to slay monsters, but when the news of the fact that the game has become real and those who die in the game world die in the real world as well gets out, the dream quickly becomes a nightmare. Kirigaya Kazuto, a player who's stuck in the game as Kizito, plans to beat this game, break the nightmare and bring everyone home. *** SAO was an iconic stepping stone for the isekai genre. The shows before it that were classified as Isekai made the genre acutely aimed, small minded and a step to being forgotten. SAO released in 2012 changed that, making waves along the anime streams and opening viewers eyes to the possibility of a new world. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/C3KZ7LIU-JcAAAAC/sword-art-online.gif) SAO is indeed a lovely anime, and its fame couldn't have been accomplished without a few great plans and points... *** #### - Virtual Reality Gaming *** SAO explored the concepts of virtual reality gaming, which was just coming out newly in the year 2012. The timing was impeccable, as the theme made it compelling and approachable to both gamers and anime watchers, plus it was a very unique plot back then... ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/nryrObMiCZ0AAAAC/%E5%8E%9F%E7%A5%9E%E5%95%9F%E5%8B%95.gif) The idea of being stuck in a game, where the death of the characters is the death of a human in real life, then added another layer to the show. It was a horrific well timed twist that truly worked well. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/wNEKLYB487sAAAAC/sao-sword-art-online.gif) *** #### - Character Development *** ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/jF0_FoYOjVYAAAAC/kirito-tattorix.gif) The character development of Kirito along the arcs and seasons is nothing to sneeze at. His trials, outbursts, exclamations and revivals made him unique and his conversations with other characters helped drive the story. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/CRzaqvyHyWsAAAAC/%D0%BA%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%BE-%D1%81%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%82.gif) *** #### - Lovely Animation *** ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/Z_378tI4t0YAAAAC/kirito-sao.gif) This show's animation was fire back then, and even now, it is still average to good. The animation was beautiful and it helped glue fans (me included) to their screens watching Kirito fight and beat numerous kind of monsters. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/I-L3VZk2j-UAAAAC/kirito-ggo-anime.gif) The animation worked well with the gaming theme, the bright colors and the fluidness of the fights was the most impressive. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/tlN21uaKVugAAAAC/m%C3%BCq.gif) *** #### - Psychological Insights *** Now for those who may have read some of my other reviews, they would know just how much I love shows that have some psychological traits in it. SAO, doesn't have the thrilling psychology mind games as Classroom of the Elite, but its own mind games and their effects were still as interesting. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/KUyhasDq-eoAAAAC/sword-art.gif) SAO goes ahead to tackle the gory bit of the psychology. It elaborates on the psychological effects of being trapped in a virtual world. It shows the trauma, lack of Morality, blurring of lines between the real and the virtual. This bad bits makes the show more colorful and gives the story more depth, plus it made me enjoy it more 😂

    untitled.gif

*** #### - The World Building *** ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/7tcnn2dn4cwAAAAC/ca09w.gif) This is the last bit and it's definitely not the least. SAO's world building was awesome creating worlds and games that are totally unique in their own way. A typical example of this is the season two when Kirito played the game Gun Gale Online.

It was a totally different feel from Aincrad and SAO amd the team did well in helping to highlight some aspects that helped in the creation of that new world.

As one can see, SAO, has quite a lot of things to use set itself up as the pillar of Isekai, the only disadvantage it may have is the fact that it's too popular and as such, other Isekai shows tend to have their character's incredibly similar to the characters of this snow. I guess that's not entirely a disadvantage on SAO's part but still it is really off-putting.

I'd rate SAO a nine out of ten and soul totally recommend it to any otaku who hasn't watched it. I myself is rewatching it and still find myself being amazed 😍✨😂

    What about you?
Have you watched or heard about the anime?
If yes, what did you think about it?

At the moment when Kirito is going to receive the final blow, Asuna unfortunately intervenes and dies to protect him, and shortly after Kirito dies, despite Kigayaba's warning, players do not die in real life. Kirito returns to the real world after 2 years in Sword Art Online, and looks for Asuna, but she is not logged out of the game for some strange reason, and this is where the first arc of the first season ends (I won't say the rest because it would be a spoiler)

Definitely Sword Art Online, it is a world full of stories, although in my personal taste and opinion the best are the first 2 seasons in terms of plot and character development, Kirito has too many confusing love triangles and he has Asuna as a couple, but well it's a matter of each taste; It would have been very cool to leave the story until season 2😅

¿Have you already seen this anime? tell me in comments 😊

  45. Sword Art Online : There's more to the romance than the adventure.@iam-siki873d

Hello everyone, It's the month of Valentine, the month of love, and in this contest, we're prompted to make a post about romance anime. But that has been my biggest weakness, as I've not been able to touch any romance anime since I started watching anime. As you all know, I've been watching more Isekai and dramas than romance. So I went online to search for romantic genres. Luckily, I found out that Sword Art Online (SAO) also deals with romance, although it's a mixture of adventure, action, romance, and part-isekai. and since I've watched it before. I was very happy. I hope the community will accept it as one. As for the other one, I'll be starting it this night.

As we all know, this anime is about adventure and action, but there is also more romance in the anime. So I won't dwell much on the adventure part; I'll just delve into the romance part. I hope you enjoy it. Let's start.

    Sword Art Online

The movie Sword Art Online is about a group of players entering a virtual world to be able to fight, win battles, and conquer the virtual world. But things took a bad turn when they were trapped in the virtual world for a very long time. The only way they'll be able to come out is when they win the battles until they conquer the final boss. And if they die in the virtual world, they'll also die in the normal world. They encountered a lot of issues and adventures on the way, which led to the meeting of the two protagonists. "Kirigaya Kauto," also called "Kirito," and "Asuna.".

It took almost two years for the romance between Kirito and Asuna to develop. As we know, Kirito and Asuna met in the game. Kirito was a beta tester, and Asuna is kind of a first-timer. When they first met, he guided her towards surviving in the game, even without knowing her. He told her some important information about the game that Asuna held and used to be able to be one of the best fighters. Along the line, they're separated due to some unnecessary fights between the members, and Kirito was fighting alone while Asuna was climbing through the ranks.

When they later met, at first, she was very distant with him and didn't want to do anything with him, but Kirito didn't care; he was just carefree and was handling things in a carefree fashion. But later, she became close to him. It was the difference in tgeir characters that made them come together, and Asuna was getting fond of him, getting closer to him in every way. Along the line, we later learned the true intentions of Asuna and why she always keeps a serious face in the virtual world, saying that the more they use in the virtual world, the more their body is dying in the outside world. But Kirito was able to convince her that she should cherish every day that they're using in the virtual world. And that seems to soothe her. So that's how they keep getting closer.

As they're solving conquests and killing monsters together, they're getting closer and closer to each other day by day. There were some romantic scenes that I loved in it.

One day, Kirito and Asuna admitted their feelings for themselves and decided to get married in the game. They bought an apartment with the game money and lived in the apartment to free themselves from all the worries of the world and free their minds from everything. They had every moment for themselves. Another day, they saw a fairy, took care of her, and decided to make her their daughter (it was indeed her who decided to call them papa and mama 😅), and they lived as a happy family for a while.

They encountered certain problems until they were able to clear the game somehow. Coming back to the normal world, different scenarios happened, which made them fight for their lives and stay together no matter the situation. It's indeed interesting. In fact, the love even grows deeper in season two, which depicts the romantic story between the two characters.

Overall, SAO is a very good anime with a good ending. Although the adventure and the actions made the movie interesting, the romantic story between the protagonists made the anime even more interesting, and I love it that way.

I hope you enjoyed my post. Feel free to list some romantic anime you have watched, because I need to watch some and I need to be strong in that genre as well.

This brings me to the end of my post. See you soon.

  46. My opinion about the Sword Art Online anime [ENG-ESP]@franz54946d

    image.png Source

Friends of The Anime Realm community and #hive in general, I hope you are all well, it really is a pleasure to share again my opinion about a new anime. This one is called Sword Art Online, also known as SAO. Before watching the anime and each of the seasons, I had a high expectation about it, my best friend recommended it to me and well I decided to watch it. In this review I'm going to tell you about my experience with the seasons I watched of the anime series, based on a Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by Abec, but actually what I'm going to talk about is the adaptation since I don't usually read manga.

The first season of SAO tells the story of Kirito, who is a player of the virtual reality video game named after the anime, Sword Art Online. In this game, players control avatars, where they must traverse a world called Aincrad. One day the players were told that they were trapped in the game and that those who died, would also die in real life, so they panicked and the only way out was to pass the game, go through each of the levels and face the bosses. This news was given by the creator of the game himself, Akihiko Kayaba. It is important to remember that these characters being in the game and using an avatar, no one knew their real identity, not even the name. Our protagonist is actually named Kazuto Kirigaya, known in the game VRMMORPG, as Kirito.

Kirito is a great character, really in the whole story is my favorite, a very good player in the game, he is even the best and the reason for that we can know in the anime. As every male protagonist, also has the female protagonist and this is Asuna, who is one of the few girls who play Sao, she is also a really good player, not in vain is the sub captain of the Knights of Blood guild, this being the strongest of the whole game. The game really has good characters, each one with a personal story, which some are told in the anime, but I also feel that they can go deeper in this aspect, but in this first season they just wanted to focus more on the main story which was that the players should try to pass the 100 levels to be able to be released in the game.

Kirito was a specialist in using his swords, although we also see how he possesses other great abilities. Something that I really loved about the story of the first season is the fact that the animated series had a certain genre of mystery or suspense, we did not know the stories of the characters, even some of them kept secrets, but I also did not know whether or not to get attached to the characters, since some of them could die. I liked the plot of this first season, it was not perfect, it had some slow moments, with a lot of dialogues and less action, but when the fights started and we were advancing in the story, it became more and more interesting. This is an anime that covers many genres such as action, video games, adventure, science fiction, drama, fantasy and romance that can never be missing, since in most of the anime I have seen, most fall in love with the main character, in this case Kirito, and this anime series is no exception.

The story is centered in the years 2022, so it was expected that by this time the technology was as advanced as for this kind of games. Yes virtual reality has played an important role in recent years, but not at the level of the game, although to be honest I like games, but not of this type like SAO. Even so this first season fascinated me, both for the story, that while not perfect but there were many moments where I was hooked and wanted to keep watching more. Another thing I liked about the anime is the low level of filler, I can even say that there is none, although I have never read the literary story, nor the manga, so I can't tell you how was the adaptation.

The animation and soundtrack is another thing I liked about this anime. SAO has very well represented characters, but what I like the most are the animations in the battles and the effects shown when one of the characters use their abilities. The music is very well created, it is really a success, at this point my favorite anime is Naruto Shippuden, they have very emotional music and others for more nostalgic moments, although I feel that Sword Art Online is not at the same level (personal taste), but they are also pleasant at the time of seeing what was happening in the story.

The main idea of this review was to talk about my opinion of the whole Sword Art Online anime saga, but to be honest, I really liked the first season, I thought it was good, with a lot of emotions and I wanted to continue watching more. The truth is that for the following seasons I didn't like it at all, the second one I fell asleep in almost every episode, yes I was tired because of the long day I had had but it is also true that it didn't capture my attention so much that I didn't lose interest. This is not to say that the second season was bad, personally I liked the first one better, the story took a turn that I didn't like. The animation and soundtrack if not great, it didn't lose its point.

Such was the disappointment in the second season that I decided not to watch the anime anymore, I was even told that the following ones were not good either. The first season had 25 chapters, it is a fairly long anime in seasons, with several arcs and story to tell. The second season had 24 chapters, one less than the first installment. Then other special anime installments came out, although not with many episodes and I guess with less success. If I had to give the anime a score, it would be 7, for the first season, which was quite correct.

  47. Sword Art Online Progressive Movie #2 - The Great Battle Of Floor 5 Although Leaving Several Floors Unseen [ENG -ESP]@kuronokenshi1137d

After the first movie of the Progressive saga which despite having some aspects in the story somewhat questionable it turned out to be a good movie and I did not expect them to continue with the production of this saga of movies so fast and now just after a few months we have the second movie of Sword Art Online Progressive Kuraki Yuuyami no Scherzo which although at first I thought it would follow in a much more faithful and detailed way the second floors of Aincrad as it is in the novel still remains a work quite faithful to his novel in some respects and again A1-Pictures presented us with incredible visual quality where we appreciate all its potential. Pictures presented us with an incredible visual quality where we appreciate its full potential, after watching with great excitement this new movie I will share my opinion and I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum for those who haven't seen it yet, but a couple of things are very important to mention them.

    Fotos 28_5_2023 4_06_56 p. m..png

    Separador Kuronokenshi.jpg

    Fotos 28_5_2023 4_07_01 p. m..png

The first aspect that caught my attention at the beginning of this movie and that personally ended up disappointing me a little was the beginning or rather the decision they took to start the story of this new movie, At the end of the first movie we saw how Asuna and Kirito finished climbing the stairs to the second floor and besides leaving the intrigue as they would develop the original character of these films, they let us see that for this new film we would have another very important character of the novels as Argo, but there was something that I did not expect and less having read if I am not mistaken that they had approved the production of 6 films, one for each volume of the novel.

    Fotos 28_5_2023 4_07_04 p. m..png

In spite of this in this second movie were completely ignored the floors two, three and four because it begins with the defeat of the boss of floor number 4 and therefore the arrival to floor 5, with this they completely leave aside all the events of those floors but I think this was a decision taken to somehow omit one of the NPC characters that appear in the novel and that accompanies Kirito and Asuna, this may have been decided taking into account that they had already decided to add an original character but it was disappointing to see that nothing was shown of those floors.

    Fotos 28_5_2023 4_07_07 p. m..png

    Separador Kuronokenshi.jpg

As for the development of the story in this second movie they followed quite well what we know from the light novel and although it has been a long time since I read the first volumes I remembered quite a few moments of the novel with the movie and at least the most important and most memorable scenes were done in a great way and practically the same as the ones read in the novel. As it was practically impossible to continue with an exact story to that of the novel due to having omitted three stories as well as having Mito as the original character, this movie also added new scenes where Mito again has participation, although with less relevance than he had in the first movie and something really interesting and exciting was the abilities that were given to his exclusive weapon which could make it one of the best weapons of all the characters. The only negative aspect of this movie in comparison to the light novel is that due to the incorporation of Mito in the battle against the boss of floor number 5 they substituted a character who also had a unique weapon to instead give the appearance to Mito although the result especially at a visual level was incredible and considering that the character that should appear according to the light novel is presented in the previous floors it would have been strange to add him without having shown how they met him.

    Fotos 28_5_2023 4_12_38 p. m..png

In general terms the story of the movie was quite exciting and entertaining where we had the incorporation of what later will be one of the most complicated and relevant enemies such as the Player Killer guild who are dedicated simply to eliminate other players for fun although in a way you can not help but feel a bitter feeling to see that the incredible landscapes of the previous floors did not appear in the movie as well as the NPCs that had the same. One of the most exciting aspects of this film is its visual quality and its incredible animation design, although the animation does not seek extreme realism it does have a very good level of detail and in the scenes of combat or dramatic moments the effect they get with the use of intense and bright colors along with dark backgrounds or equally careful and colorful scenarios gives a result of action and incredible emotion. In some very specific scenes when creating the different enemies it seems to be present CGI elements but it is of great quality and combines in a great way with all the other elements so that it can go unnoticed and in the same way it is not annoying or uncomfortable to see.

    Fotos 28_5_2023 4_07_10 p. m..png

    Separador Kuronokenshi.jpg

In the same way that the animation of a film made by A1-Pictures never disappoints, the soundtrack of this film is very good and the atmosphere they manage to create manages to emphasize the scenes more and generate a greater emotion in the viewer, as it was already done in the first film for this second film the music and its melodies have an instrumental approach and although some may come to have voices the masses are simply choirs or harmonic chants used to further highlight the rhythms of the melody, the whole soundtrack has a typical style of video games or movies of the feudal era and castles so that combines perfectly with everything that means in Aincrad floating castle. An interesting result of the soundtrack of this film is how despite having a high volume music to make you focus on it, the sound effects in combat and the voices of the protagonists themselves have a high tone so that everything ends up combining in a good way without one gets to overshadow the other and gets the action scenes are very special.

    Fotos 28_5_2023 4_11_28 p. m..png

Perhaps some of the few criticisms of this film would be the fact of having ignored three floors of the castle and that, although at times the development of the story is well done at other times you can feel that the story is shown in an accelerated way to get to the next scene or meeting with characters of great importance to the development. Despite this, Sword Art Online Progressive Kuraki Yuuyami no Scherzo ended up being for my taste a very good movie and again generates more excitement and expectation for the next movie and see if they will again omit some floors or continue with the story of the novel and show what happened on floor number 6.

  48. Sword Art Online Progressive Aria Of A Starless Night - What We Expected From Aincrad [ENG -ESP]@kuronokenshi1405d

    image.png

    Source

    image.png

Since about 2 years ago when I first read the Sword Art Online Progressive novels I was wishing for an anime adaptation of what for me and for most of the fans was the right way to tell the story of the Aincrad Arc and what everyone was wishing after watching the first chapter of the anime and seeing how they presented an incredible floating castle with 100 levels and 100 floor bosses in the best style of MMORPG games. More than 1 year ago was published the trailer of this first adaptation of the Progressive light novels which would be a series of movies instead of anime seasons and finally after a long wait the movie was published in Blue-Ray which made it easier to see it in a great quality and although it took longer than expected to take the time to see it and I had some doubts about it the result was something incredible.

    image.png

    Separador Kuronokenshi.jpg

    image.png

    image.png

For all the fans of this anime as well as those who read the Progressive light novels the biggest doubt was the new original character of the movie called "Mito" which was revealed in the trailer so it would most likely end up breaking the canon of the novels, although this from a certain point of view can break the canon or not, the truth is that the addition of this new character was quite interesting and complementary to the initial story of Asuna, who both in the anime and in the novels is not told in a very detailed way her reasons why she decided to start playing Sword Art Online when she practically never played video games.

    image.png

Unlike the anime in this first film the beginnings of the same show us a completely different and refreshing approach, Sword Art Online Progressive Aria of a Starless Night is the film about "Asuna Yuuki" where she will be the protagonist of this story and Kirito will be relegated to a more secondary role where even during much of the film does not appear on stage. The movie will show us in a broader way Asuna's complicated relationship with her mother who demanded a lot from her and how both her father and brother were not very present.

    image.png

The new character "Mito" will be a young lilac-haired student somewhat lonely, addicted to video games in her private life but will also be admired in her classroom which is the same as Asuna's, so being classmates they will have a good friendship. Mito serves to develop Asuna's initial personality a bit more while becoming the main motive and reason why Asuna after a stroke of fate ends up with a copy of SAO and a Nervegear on the day of SAO's release so she decides to play it. The inclusion of "Mito" in this new movie was something really unexpected but I ended up liking the result, although "Mito" ends up being a secondary character without much background if it turns out to be quite important for a better development of Asuna, besides being part of the initial story and get in a way to give answers to some questions you might have about Asuna prior to his meeting with Kirito.

    image.png

    image.png

Sword Art Online Progressive Aria of a Starless Night is based on the first volume of the light novels of the same name and for those who do not know this arc of light novels was initially created when it was decided to produce the first season of the anime, because in the first novels there was no second floor combat, because of this they asked Reki Kawahara and he created the same to animate it and thus originated Progressive, for this reason the film will have several scenes similar to the first chapters of the anime but with some changes not so great. One of the reasons why I think that this movie does not necessarily have to end up breaking the Canon of the series despite having a new original character and some changes in the story is that in the end they do not turn out to be so relevant and in one way or another the final fight of the first story ends practically in the same way as it ended in both the Anime and the light novel, Even though it shows a "meeting" between Asuna and Kirito different from the previous one, it does not end up being very relevant for Kirito and does not affect the moment where he really begins to interact with Asuna, we will have to wait for the next movie which is already confirmed and which will be based on the second volume of the Progressive light novel to know how the story of "Mito" evolves or if it disappears from the adventure.

    image.png

Another of the aspects that made me most excited to see this new SAO movie was the great visual and animation quality that we could see in the trailer and once again A-1 Pictures shows us that it can easily be at the top as one of the best animation companies in the industry. The graphic quality is incredible and has a great similarity to the one presented in the last season of SAO War Of Underworld II. The details, shading and lighting, as well as presenting a really intense color palette in several scenes resulted in an incredible visual work and extremely enjoyable at all times, to see again the mythical scene at the beginning of the adventure in Aincrad when Kayaba Akihiko is introduced with a great visual enhancement was fantastic.

    image.png

As in War Of Underworld II, Aria of a Starless Night also makes use of CGI at various times, but these are mainly during the combat scenes and the uses of the Skill Sword, knowing how to implement this form of animation and combine it with traditional animation the result was very positive in addition to achieving great complement to the fighting and generate even more emotion in the viewer.

    image.png

    Separador Kuronokenshi.jpg

    image.png

    image.png

As for its soundtrack we had again one of the main musical references to mention Sword Art Online and for my taste one of the best singers of OP and ED, LiSA who performs the final song of the film "Yuke" where a mixed rhythm between acoustic instruments and some electronic effects are combined with exciting lyrics, but with calmer and somewhat relaxing moments. Throughout the film its Soundtrack will be as you would expect from an adventure set in a castle and medieval places combined with fantasy. Flute rhythms, celestial choirs, Spanish guitar and much more. In battles despite having a somewhat simple music and rhythms manage to generate a greater sense of excitement and greatly complement the action and euphoria of the characters. Sword Art Online Progressive Aria of a Starless Night ended up being an incredible movie full of emotion and a great delivery for all fans of this anime, despite having "Myth" the story was not separated so much from the original presented in the light novels and there are still the next films to know if they will really follow the story already told or think to change it greatly, but as long as the graphic quality and Soundtrack remain at the same level as presented in Aria of a Starless Night the result will always be positive.

    image.png
