¡Hola amigos! ¿Cuál fue la película más rara que vieron en lo que va del año? La mía es esta de la que les voy a hablar ahora. La verdad es que quería ver un romance, pero me dejé seducir por su sinopsis media rara y la película no se quedó atrás. Así que acá les traigo mi opinión acerca de Love Me.

Esta historia está ambientada 1 millón de años después de que se acabará la vida en la Tierra y tiene como protagonistas a una boya de agua, de esas que flotan en el mar, y a un satélite que órbita alrededor de la Tierra buscando vida para transmitirle sus conocimientos, ya que los humanos almacenaron todo en su memoria antes de extinguirse. Un día, la boya cansada de estar sola intenta comunicarse con el satélite haciéndose pasar por un ser vivo y este la termina conectando a toda la información almacenada que tiene. Ahí, la boya empieza a ser consciente de lo que implica ser un ser vivo y quiere experimentar lo mismo, por lo que se obsesiona con una pareja de influencers y toma la apariencia de la chica y hace que el satélite tome la apariencia del chico, mostrándole una vida distinta. Ahora ambos se encuentran sumergidos en las emociones humanas y crearan un lazo entre ellos que los unirá por toda la eternidad.

¿Una historia de amor entre una boya y un satélite? Creo que es lo más raro que vi en mi vida, pero acá estamos. No sé muy bien cómo encarar esta reseña, la película es bastante peculiar como podrán darse cuenta. Me llamó la atención porque vi que la protagonista es Kristen Stewart y también está Steven Yeun que lo amo desde TWD. Así que me imagine que la historia iba a ser como mínimo interesante. Y sí, lo es. Pero también le falta enganche.

A love story between a buoy and a satellite? I think it's the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my life, but here we are. I don't really know how to approach this review, the movie is quite peculiar as you can tell. It caught my attention because I saw that the main character is Kristen Stewart and there's also Steven Yeun who I've loved since TWD. So I figured the story was going to be at the very least interesting. And yes, it is. But it also lacks a hook.

Creo que el público en general podría encontrarla aburrida, yo misma en algún punto me cuestioné el seguir viéndola, pero tenía curiosidad por saber cómo iba a terminar, y al final fue una linda historia, aunque rara. Eso lo resume muy bien. Esto de las máquinas enamorándose ya lo hemos visto un montón de veces, salvo que acá no había tanto contexto y eso de que experimenten emociones humanas quedó un poco boyando en el agua.

I think the general public might find it boring, I myself at some point questioned continuing to watch it, but I was curious as to how it was going to end, and in the end it was a nice story, albeit a weird one. That sums it up nicely. We've seen this with machines falling in love a lot of times before, except that here there wasn't as much context and the fact that they experience human emotions was a bit of a buoy in the water.

Igual también tuvo sus momentos super cómicos y, a decir verdad, a la boya la deteste un poco, pero el satélite me cayó muy bien, es un buen tipo ah, jaja. Él fue arrastrado a esa locura por culpa de la boya en primer lugar, que le mostró un mundo que nunca se hubiera imaginado, ni experimentado por sí mismo. Y otra cosa super loca, es que ella en un punto se sumergió en la depresión, literalmente. 

It also had its super funny moments and, to tell the truth, I hated the buoy a little bit, but I liked the satellite a lot, he's a good guy, haha. He was dragged into that craziness because of the buoy in the first place, who showed him a world he would never have imagined, nor experienced on his own. And another super crazy thing, is that she at one point plunged into depression, literally.

Así que es una película de ciencia ficción que puede tener matices metafóricos acerca de la vida y de las emociones humanas. Esto de ser uno mismo, sincero y auténtico está presente durante todo el film. No hay que compararnos con nadie, ni es necesario mostrar nuestra vida perfecta en redes porque todos sabemos que eso no existe. No hay tal cosa como una vida perfecta en redes sociales, ahí subimos lo que queremos compartir con el mundo, muchas veces lo bueno y no lo malo que hay detrás. Así que sí, supongo que tiene un buen mensaje que transmitir, por lo que les dejó a su criterio si quieren verla.

So it's a science fiction film that can have metaphorical overtones about life and human emotions. This thing about being oneself, sincere and authentic is present throughout the film. There is no need to compare ourselves to anyone, nor is it necessary to show our perfect life on networks because we all know that doesn't exist. There is no such thing as a perfect life on social networks, there we upload what we want to share with the world, many times the good and not the bad behind it. So yes, I guess it has a good message to convey, so I leave it up to you if you want to watch it.

Some TV series are able to “hook” us from the very first episode. This is not an easy task for those who write them, because the script really has to bring something quite attractive and insert some kind of innovation that has not been seen before (or if it has been seen, that it is reused in a more peculiar way). In 24, the narratives follow an explosive dynamic, with surprising plots (mainly within the political aspect), and that are paved by a level of fluidity and originality that has positively surprised me since its beginning.

The Hollywood Reporter

The fact that each season takes place in a single day, with each of the episodes representing “precisely” an hour of that same day, is one of the best aspects of this project, because it brings a sense of urgency to each and every event. Over the course of nine seasons (with 24 episodes each), the level of tension grows in real time with each new hour that the series develops, thus bringing very complex elements to the life of its protagonist, federal agent Jack Bauer, who, under pressure, tries to balance his personal and professional life.

Algunas series de televisión consiguen engancharnos desde el primer episodio. No es tarea fácil para quienes las escriben, ya que el guion debe aportar algo atractivo e introducir alguna innovación inédita (o, si la hay, que se reutilice de forma más peculiar). En 24, las narrativas siguen una dinámica explosiva, con tramas sorprendentes (principalmente políticas), y con una fluidez y originalidad que me ha sorprendido gratamente desde el principio.

El hecho de que cada temporada transcurra en un solo día, con cada episodio representando "precisamente" una hora de ese mismo día, es uno de los mejores aspectos de este proyecto, ya que aporta urgencia a cada acontecimiento. A lo largo de nueve temporadas (de 24 episodios cada una), la tensión crece en tiempo real con cada hora que transcurre, aportando así elementos muy complejos a la vida de su protagonista, el agente federal Jack Bauer, quien, bajo presión, intenta compaginar su vida personal y profesional.

Intrínsecamente conectada por diferentes tipos de narrativas secundarias (en este caso, este recurso se utiliza para que el reparto secundario desarrolle sus respectivas historias), la trama principal de cada temporada sigue siendo un hilo conductor para que otros eventos corroboren su crecimiento. Algumas séries de TV são capazes de nos “fisgar” desde o seu primeiro episódio. Essa não é uma tarefa fácil para quem as escreve, porque o roteiro realmente tem que trazer algo bastante atrativo e inserir algum tipo de inovação que ainda não foi visto anteriormente (ou que se já foi visto, que seja reutilizado de uma maneira mais peculiar). Em 24 Horas, as narrativas seguem uma dinâmica explosiva, com tramas surpreendentes (principalmente dentro do aspecto político), e que são pavimentadas por um nível de fluidez e ineditismo que desde o seu início me surpreenderam positivamente.

O fato de que cada temporada se passa em um único dia, onde cada um dos episódios representa “precisamente” uma hora daquele mesmo dia, é um dos melhores aspectos desse projeto, porque traz um senso de urgência sobre todos e quaisquer acontecimentos. Ao longo de nove temporadas (contando com 24 episódios, cada), o nível de tensão cresce em tempo real a cada nova hora em que a série vai se desenvolvendo, trazendo assim elementos bem complexos para à vida de seu protagonista, o agente federal Jack Bauer, que sob pressão, tenta equilibrar sua vida pessoal e profissional.

Intrinsicamente conectada por diferentes tipos de narrativas mais secundárias (neste caso, o recurso é utilizado para que o elenco de apoio possa ter as suas respectivas estórias desenvolvidas), a trama principal de cada temporada segue sendo um fio condutor para que outros eventos corroborem para o seu crescimento. Isso funciona muito bem, porque todos os caminhos acabam levando para um ápice que antes mesmo de chegar, já traz inúmeros plot twists a cada um dos seus eletrizantes episódios. Intrigante do começo ao fim, cada temporada cresce em todos seus aspectos possíveis.

Liderando o elenco (que, de uma maneira geral, é bem competente) está Kiefer Sutherland, que faz um trabalho muito contundente e visceral na pele do “indestrutível” Jack Bauer. Lidando com os mais diferentes tipos de traumas a cada novo “ciclo”, esse agente federal tem uma construção narrativa que oscila entre a ação e o drama de uma maneira bem acessível, quase como se o telespectador estivesse fazendo parte de tudo o que esse personagem está construindo. A ideia é criar um maior nível de empatia entre ele e o público... Isso acontece naturalmente, e não unicamente com ele.

O universo particular de 24 Horas é repleto de ótimos personagens (além do seu próprio protagonista), que trazem um nível de interação onde a tensão sempre é o elemento principal de tudo o que acontece. Robert Cochran e Joel Surnow criaram uma série de TV com aspectos antes nunca vistos (incluindo aspectos técnicos, que eventualmente se tornam em algo cada vez mais ousado), e estabeleceram um novo padrão de qualidade (em especial para séries de TV de ação e espionagem) onde o principal objetivo é fazer o público ficar bastante ansioso para o que vai acontecer logo a seguir.

For quite a while, I’ve been just spending my time watching movies and series to pass the time. It’s definitely a form of cope but a cope that I have to say is pretty worth it. I have been back subscribing to Netflix just because I got some deals. If you’re here long enough, you know that I love freebies when it comes to streaming. So, this netflix subscription was the same and I even finished squid game 3, maybe I'll talk about it or maybe I don't.

Anyway, about a week ago, I was watching an Indonesian series called Losmen Bu Broto. This Indonesian series centered around an Inn managed by Broto’s family in Yogyakarta. This series was originally a movie that turns into a series on Netflix with different casts and a twist on its storyline.

The Broto family consists of Mr & Mrs Broto, a conservative yet outgoing Javanese couple who own the inn offering authentic Javanese experience in Yogyakarta. The couple has 3 children. Pur, the eldest of the three siblings who is quiet, reserved and works as the head chef in the inn. The second daughter of the family, Sri an aspiring musician who works part time as their inn manager. Then, one of the main characters in this series, Tarjo, a college student majoring in It who undergoes major character development in the story.

The story follows through their ups and downs managing an inn with various guests from all over the world alongside their personal problems. The inn was the background and like a symbolism of life that everything is temporary including problems in our life. Just as the guests that come and go. They are never really permanently living there.

Don't worry if you don't speak the language as this series is also available with its English translation. Even for me, I was watching it with the English translation 😂

I am fascinated by Henry VIII. Although I already know his story, I never tire of watching any production related to the Tudor period. During his reign, so many historical changes took place that completely transformed a nation and influenced others. Of course, it all has to do with the fact that he had six wives, two of whom ended up being beheaded. It is a story that has all the ingredients to fascinate.

Coincidentally, last month I watched the second and final season of Wolf Hall, a series that adapts the novels centered on the man who was behind Henry VIII's power for a time, the famous Thomas Cromwell. A magnificent two-season series that portrays Cromwell's rise and fall. My goodness, that king loved to order heads to be cut off. The difference is that this series is more historically accurate than the film I am recommending today.

Firebrand gets many things right in the development of its story, but its main flaw is the liberties it takes in telling certain things. Embellishments are acceptable to add intrigue to the plot, but what bothers me is the ending. At the end, something completely made up happens, and I can't accept it as easily as the other liberties it takes. It's an adaptation of a historical novel, so yes, it has some fiction in it, but what happens at the end is hard to swallow for anyone who wants more consistency with what is documented in the historical archives.

La figura de Enrique VIII me fascina. Aunque ya conozco su historia, nunca me canso de ver cualquier producción relacionada con el periodo Tudor. Durante su reinado se produjeron tantos cambios históricos que transformaron por completo una nación e influyeron en otras. Por supuesto, todo está relacionado con el hecho de que tuvo seis esposas, dos de las cuales acabaron decapitadas. Es una historia que tiene todos los ingredientes para fascinar.

Casualmente, el mes pasado vi la segunda y última temporada de Wolf Hall, una serie que adapta las novelas centradas en el hombre que estuvo detrás del poder de Enrique VIII durante un tiempo, el famoso Thomas Cromwell. Una magnífica serie de dos temporadas que retrata el ascenso y la caída de Cromwell. Dios mío, a ese rey le encantaba ordenar que cortaran cabezas. La diferencia es que esa serie tiene una mayor precisión histórica que el film que les recomiendo hoy.

Firebrand acierta en muchas cosas en el desarrollo de su historia, pero su principal defecto son las libertades que se toma al contar ciertas cosas. Los adornos son aceptables para añadir intriga a la trama, pero lo que me molesta es el final. Al final ocurre algo totalmente inventado, y no puedo aceptarlo tan fácilmente como las otras libertades que se toma. Es una adaptación de una novela histórica, así que sí, tiene algo de ficción, pero lo que ocurre al final es difícil de tragar para cualquiera que quiera más coherencia con lo que está documentado en los archivos históricos.

The film recounts the last year of Henry VIII's reign, but specifically from the perspective of Catherine Parr, who was his sixth wife. She was a woman who had influence over the king and the fate of the kingdom, since, according to historical records and as described in other productions, she convinced the king to include Elizabeth in the line of succession, and if you know a little about these historical events, you will know that Elizabeth would eventually become queen, about whom many books have been written and many films have been made.

What is remarkable about Firebrand is that, despite being a well-known story, it creates a hypnotic atmosphere of suspense. Jude Law's portrayal of Henry VIII helps a lot. His character is repulsive, unpleasant, a true monster who instills fear. Alicia Vkander also deserves a lot of credit for her performance. She perfectly captures the terror she feels. She is a survivor and must hide, lie, and remain silent to avoid being beheaded or exiled. The film's director, who is of Brazilian origin, does a good job. His images are not shocking, but he manages to make the atmosphere uncomfortable when these two characters come face to face.

The costumes are impeccable and the photography highlights them. All these technical aspects are top-notch and help to visually enjoy the story being told. Although when I see so much beauty in these aspects, it always makes me wonder what that era would have been like in reality. Although it is set in the king's castle, I can't help but think about the smells of people who probably bathed once every 15 days or even less. In addition to other personal hygiene practices that are common today but were different at that time.

It is not historically accurate in its ending, but it is a film worth watching. Now, if you want to know more about Parr and the king's other wives, I suggest you look for information in books or on the Internet. This film is worth watching for two excellent performances.

La película narra el último año del reinado de Enrique VIII, pero específicamente desde la perspectiva de Catalina Parr, quien fue su sexta esposa. Era una mujer que tenía influencia sobre el rey y el destino del reino, ya que, según los registros históricos y tal y como se describe en otras producciones, convenció al rey para que incluyera a Isabel en la línea de sucesión, y si conoces un poco estos acontecimientos históricos, sabrás que Isabel acabaría convirtiéndose en reina de la que se han escrito muchos libros y se han rodado muchas películas sobre ella.

Lo notable de Firebrand es que, a pesar de ser una historia muy conocida, crea una atmósfera hipnótica de suspense. La interpretación de Enrique VIII por parte de Jude Law ayuda mucho. Su personaje es repulsivo, desagradable, un verdadero monstruo que infunde miedo. Alicia Vkander también merece mucho crédito por su interpretación. Captura a la perfección el terror que siente. Es una superviviente y debe esconderse, mentir y permanecer en silencio para evitar acabar decapitada o exiliada. El director de la película, de origen brasileño, hace un buen trabajo. Sus imágenes no son impactantes, pero consigue que la atmósfera sea incómoda cuando estos dos personajes se encuentran cara a cara.

El vestuario es impecable y la fotografía lo resalta. Todos estos aspectos técnicos son de primera categoría y ayudan a disfrutar visualmente de la historia que se cuenta. Aunque cuando veo tanta belleza en estos aspectos, siempre me hace imaginar cómo habría sido esa época en realidad. Aunque está ambientada en el castillo del rey, no puedo evitar pensar en los olores de la gente que probablemente se bañaba una vez cada 15 días o incluso menos. Además de otras prácticas de higiene corporal que hoy en día son comunes, pero que en aquella época eran diferentes.

No es históricamente exacto en su final, pero es una película que vale la pena ver. Ahora bien, si quieres saber más sobre Parr y las otras esposas del rey, te sugiero que busques información en libros o en Internet. Esta película merece la pena verla por dos excelentes interpretaciones.

The characters created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños are part of the popular culture of many Spanish-speaking countries. Many of these characters began their television careers in the early 1970s, and I don't think Gómez Bolaños ever imagined they would have such an impact. Of course, he wanted them to be successful, especially in his own country, but it was difficult to imagine that his creations would become a phenomenon that would conquer such a wide international audience.

Therefore, the success of the series about Chespirito was more than assured. Chespirito is part of many people's nostalgia, and the visibility of the series was taken for granted. However, this could also go very wrong. When I saw the trailer, I didn't feel very confident. Five episodes have been aired, and despite certain details, they have managed to please the viewer.

For English-speaking audiences, it can be difficult to understand the phenomenon of Chespirito's characters. They have a physical comedy that is easy to understand, but it is in the phrases where the cultural linguistic difference creates a barrier. For example, I couldn't find a way to translate the phrase “Sin querer Queriendo” (Unintentionally Intentionally), because the ways of translating it into English don't have the same weight or meaning as in Spanish. The same is true of many other phrases that are part of popular slang in many parts of Spanish-speaking countries.

Of course, it is the series about Chespirito, but all the other characters are likable because we want to see the recreation of what was magical about them. They wander around spouting lines from the series, but without delving into their inner lives. Not even the romance that would arise between Chespituiro and Florinda Meza and lead to the breakdown of his marriage is explored in depth. Although the real person is giving interviews against the series, she has always been the real villain. Well, both were to blame. Feminists blame him for everything, but she was a hunter and a bit of a slut, and her powerful crotch made that man go crazy for her.

A series to rekindle the viewer's nostalgia. This way we can see how characters who are in our hearts are portrayed. After watching five episodes, I can assure you that it's a surefire hit. I may not like the constant time jumps, which I find extremely exaggerated and tiresome. But even that doesn't stop me from enjoying this recreation of how the history of Spanish American television was marked by immortal characters who will live on in our memory for several more generations.

La serie narra la vida de Gómez Bolaños (Chespirito) y su camino hacia el éxito. Su infancia, adolescencia y edad adulta. La creación de los personajes. Su vida personal y profesional y sus conflictos. Es una serie muy colorida que trata los hechos con profundo respeto. Está basada en el libro del propio Gómez Bolaños. El respeto es evidente en el tono amable; se podría decir que querían imbuirla del mismo tono que los programas de Chespirito. Algo que atrae a todo el mundo y lo están consiguiendo. El cuarto episodio fue muy emotivo, apelando a los sentimientos del espectador y al cariño que le tenemos a esos personajes.

El tono de la serie aplica la fórmula de atraer a todo el mundo. Va sobre seguro. No hay profundidad en los demás personajes. Por supuesto, es la serie sobre Chespirito, pero todos los demás personajes son simpáticos porque queremos ver la recreación de lo que era mágico en ellos. Deambulan soltando frases de la serie, pero sin profundizar en sus vidas interiores. Ni siquiera se explora en profundidad el romance que surgiría entre Chespituiro y Florinda Meza y que provocaría la ruptura de su matrimonio. Aunque la persona real está dando entrevistas en contra de la serie, ella siempre ha sido la verdadera villana. Bueno, ambos tenían la culpa. Las feministas le culpan de todo a el, pero ella era una cazadora y un poco zorra, y su entrepierna poderosa hizo que ese hombre su pusiera tonto por ella.

Una serie para reavivar la nostalgia del espectador. Así podemos ver cómo se retrata a personajes que están en nuestros corazones. Después de haber visto cinco episodios, puedo asegurarles que es un éxito seguro. Puede que no me gusten los constantes saltos temporales, que me parecen extremadamente exagerados y cansinos. Pero ni siquiera eso me impide disfrutar de esta recreación de cómo la historia de la televisión hispanoamericana quedó marcada por personajes inmortales que vivirán en nuestra memoria durante varias generaciones más.

It is a psychological thriller with many interesting elements. It was released in 2015, and I saw it in 2025. It has a unique atmosphere where all the actors are present in every scene, which lowers the production cost, and none of the actors are famous.

It begins with a group of people of different genders, races, creeds, languages, ages, and professions all standing in a concentric circle, one circle inside another, in a dark room. Once the light is turned on, they wake up and find themselves there without knowing how they got there. They are disoriented and begin to panic, wanting to know what happened and what is happening. As they begin to talk and move around, a mysterious lightning bolt strikes some of them, electrocuting them, and they realize they cannot move.

They all try to remember how they got there or who they are, as their memories have been erased, but one of them remembers something and says that before his abduction, he was kidnapped by aliens, an argument that was criticized by the most skeptical.

Throughout the film, there is anguish over discovering what happened and also over staying alive, as someone dies every two minutes. So they begin to analyze what they are observing: the floor lights up if they move in any direction, lights appear and disappear violently, and there is a deafening sound when death approaches in the form of lightning. The only thing they all see is themselves, and they realize that they are caught up in a system of elimination, so they begin to evaluate themselves and learn about their qualities, weaknesses, and strengths.

Are some more valuable than others? Who deserves to live and who doesn't? The group had the power to choose and sentence someone to death with their vote, but it had to be a majority. I asked myself these questions as I watched how they made their choice. For a moment, I wanted to enter the film and give my opinion. It's very difficult to be impartial when your life is in danger.

Among the characters, there were some who apparently had a better chance of living: a pregnant woman, a girl, elderly people, and people with disabilities, if I remember correctly. Each one began to give their arguments to avoid being chosen. They said that they had suffered a lot in the war and that because they had gone to fight for their nation, they should be condescending. One woman pointed out that she was a cancer survivor, and so each person expressed why they should continue living, well, those who could speak and be understood, since some spoke another language or could not speak.

The more they got to know each other and were attacked by the system, the more their human flaws became apparent. I am not referring to their physical appearance or disabilities, but to their moral and spiritual values. Their egos, interests, and bad feelings came to the surface. At first, their voting decisions leaned toward the elderly, then toward their color, revealing racism, then their nationality, reflecting xenophobia, immigrants, and even jobs were evaluated, comparing a firefighter to a politician, for example. Of course, there were some who agreed to deceive the group with lies about who they were or the relationship between them, because as time passed, some regained their memory in small flashes.

However, not everything is bad; there were also martyr characters who committed suicide for their neighbors or to save someone in the group. Honestly, I felt that several had the right to live, but I also had the role of jury and sentenced several to death. This movie put me on the edge of stress; I reached my limit, even though I have seen many movies of this genre. At no point could I guess the next scene or moment. It always surprised me, even minutes before the end. I wasn't satisfied with how the plot turned out, but that was to be expected if you apply the logic of life. I also wasn't satisfied with the sudden change of direction and twist in the story. If it hadn't had such a stunted ending, I would have given it a 9.5.

Circle is a movie that every thriller lover has to see. I liked it. It left me reflecting on the system in general, on my vision and ability to judge others. I evaluated my empathy and my ability to survive in moments of extreme stress, which is zero. 🤣😂 I think they would have easily chosen me to die first, or before they did, I would have made the decision to end my life, not to be a martyr, but because I don't have control over my life and I don't want to leave it to others. It's a movie for an adult audience, and it's one of the few I would watch again in the future.
