After pandemic, global economic catastrophe and increased threat of nuclear annihilation it looks very likely that 2019 will be remembered as the last good year, at least for majority of world’s population in many years to come. It is, therefore, quite ironic that the same year was used as title and setting for post-apocalyptic film that described the world which is (still) in shape far worse than our own. It is 2019: After the Fall of New York, 1983 Italian science fiction film directed by Sergio Martino.
The plot takes twenty years after apocalyptic war between Euro-Afro-Asian Monarchy (EURAC) and Panamerican Confederacy. EURAC has won, but that victory was quite Pyrrhic, considering that nuclear bombs made most of the world into unlivable desert, while radiation turned many survivors into mutants and all women infertile. Protagonist is Parsifal (played by Michael Sopkiw), former Confederacy soldier who entertains dwindling number of people in Nevada desert by fighting to death in gladiatorial demolition derbies. He gets forcefully recruited by remnants of Confederacy whose President (played by Edmund Purdom) sends him to important mission in the heart of EURAC-occupied New York City. His task is to find last remaining fertile woman who is rumoured to be in the city and bring her to Confederate main base where she would be put in spaceship destined for Alpha Centauri and her eggs used to make new humans on another world. Parsifal is accompanied by one-armed guide Bronx (played by Paolo Maria Scalondro) and bodyguard Ratchet (played by Romano Puppo). Among the mutants and half-crazed survivors they discover healthy-looking Giara (played by Valentine Monnier) with which Parsifal immediately falls in love. While she turns out not to be the target of his mission, she joins his band, together with dwarf Shorty (played by Luigi D’Ecclesia) and Big Ape (played by George Eastman), leader of ape-like mutants. They try to find the woman while being pursued by EURAC forces, which are led by relentless commander Anya (played by Anna Kanakis).
Made by veterans of Italian exploitation cinema, 2019 is clearly inspired by John Carpenter’s Escape from New York and represents the attempt to cash in on that film’s success. However, it isn’t the shameless ripoff, because scriptwriters also used elements of other popular films, most notably Mad Max 2 and, to a lesser degree, Planet of the Apes. Comparisons with those classics are, however, predictably against 2019. This film was made with very low budget, which is most visible in laughable special effects. Many scenes are rough around the edges, and the effect is made worse by uninspired musical score by Oliver Onions. On the other hand, Sergio Martino (credited under pseudonym “Martin Dolman” in English version) directs film confidently, maintains quick pace and delivers plenty of dynamic action scenes which feature a lot of graphic violence and gore, presented in often inventive manner. There is very little nudity, except near the end in scenes that might be questionable for some sensitive viewers. Acting is solid, with American fashion model Michael Sopkiw doing a decent job in his film debut. The rest of cast does good job too, with possible exception of George Eastman whose charismatic presence is ruined by bad make up. Former Italian beauty queen Anna Karakis also does good job in the role of ocassionally depraved villainess, but her character is underdeveloped and subplot featuring her unresolved. While delivering an interesting story, film’s excesses at times put it in “it’s so bad it’s good” territory, which isn’t that unusual for some cheap exploitation films. 2019 had decent commercial results for films of this type, but it relatively quickly sank into oblivion. Later it became interesting, because its premise was similar to the one used by British writer P.D. James in her famed dystopian novel Children of Men. While it is debatable whether she was influenced by film or not, such debates don’t exist in case of Alfonso Cuaron 2006 screen adaptation, which borrows some visual and story details from this film. For less curious and less demanding viewers, 2019 could provide some fun, but probably not when its fiction is compared with trends in real world.

Last year we had 2019 and nothing but the action of today's film is just taking place then. Do you remember Escape from New York? It's time for the Italian versions of this work :)
The film begins like an old grandfather playing the trumpet and looking into the distance, here is the power of post apo.
Then we get mock-ups imitating a destroyed city, so it's getting worse. Do you remember the movie escape from New York? Snake Plissken was to find the president and he was hard as a boulder? Well, it will be similar here, hehe. After a moment of watching the mock-up of the destroyed city, the old grandfather returns to playing the trumpet again. it is a city and as it is now bad and generally bida and misery and the funniest stormtroopers are shown;)
It turns out that the police want to stop a group of hooligans who are taking over different districts. And we get a remarkable skirmish resistance movement because that's what you have to call them May throwers and the "police" has horses, unequal fight, but there can be only one winner. Many are already wounded and deformed in the resistance movement wanting to change government. It gets a little out of hand and everyone attacks even the defenseless. By using the flamethrower That they took over from the resistance. They break down buildings and break in to eliminate the resistance that is currently there. Some are hiding, others are unfortunately not chance 
After this exciting scene, we have a little looser because we get a race where our main character will race the car, but not just any futuristic cars where it will be a fight to die and life 
When one of the teams wins and throws the lost car into the abyss, it suddenly jumps out of nowhere where our main hero and the winning team strikes everyone:) ultimately our hero wins because he kicked their asses from dead. 
The fans are happy because it was races rather a defeat which turned into a victory :) It turns out that our hero works for a circus group which is quite innovative for 2019, namely a robot clown who talks as if her wires burned slightly
robot is also an ATM, so she paid nu the sum due for winning and then got on her three-wheeled motorcycle and went with her girlfriend somewhere towards the setting sun, and this movie should end this way, but this is only 12 minutes of the film, and so much was going on hehe. Her dear hero girl has such an accent as if she were reading each of her sayings from a card. He eats like this through the wilderness all of a sudden the plane connects with them. There they say so we want to talk to you and the hero does not hang up :) So they arrive to the trailer and there two guests zygga in green so you have a hero eliminates them and the girl thank you and gets on the horse (damn something I missed because I didn't see a horse there ) and leaves without him and the hero observes the menela at the trailer after a while he returns to his three-wheel motorbike and here if he does not get a laser beam on his back he immediately wanted to sleep. It turns out that those from the plane, however, really want to talk to him. So at turbo speed they take the unconscious hero to ... Alaska where is the base which has different colored lights so it's serious. They are already leading the conscious hero to the lieutenant. They are talking loosely and I thought you were dead. I thought so too but here I am
The lieutenant is pissed off and the will of his power soldiers and those with lasers are standing. It is known that the hero must agree to the mission that the lieutenant proposes to him because again to get a laser on his back is nothing cool; D Our hero takes on missions two people one without a hand the other without an eye :) Together they are invincible. Initially, I thought they would get some plane, but not only a sudden teleportation again to the mountainous areas of Nevada :) you can see Alaska was probably just behind the liquor;) Well, our heroes ride bikes and so eat and eat, and in the meantime this grandfather appears out of nowhere and again he plays the trumpet so no drama here high lord. I may be wrong but it seems to me that New York is not just around the corner, but in this film yes after a while driving on the sand they suddenly reach New York where there are many mockups :) They stop and meet this old man with the trumpet you can see it some gps trumpet because they arrived right away. Well, grandpa summarizes what is happening, what happened, who died, who kidnapped, and you are cool, we can do it, there are three of us, I have no hand, and the one inside is pale :)
The fight is exciting because it starts outside and it continues on old buses. Here it is very seriously, our three heroes must cope with the overwhelming power of the enemy :) After a long time we manage to eliminate these bathers. Our cheerful company goes on, the goal must be completed, but it is not easy, considering that our heroes are not 100% functional. Suddenly, stormtroopers appear on their horses, who have crossbows in their hands this time, you can see flame throwers left at home and charging :)
Our cheerful company hid from them in the sewers. After the stormtroopers arrive, peasants suddenly appear, pouring boiling water into the sewers and brewing our one-eyed man (he has a hard life in this movie), but ultimately he is fine and they continue to walk through the sewers to their destination. The best rat exterminators appear in the sewers, i.e. a group of people who scream and have long sticks :) Our cheerful company surreptitiously observes them as they eliminate rats. Suddenly one of the rat eliminators sees our three holidays, but one of the eliminators does not react, and the rats eat him: D After a while, the others suddenly see our group and the fight begins, but somehow without imagination, one has a stick the other goals hands hehe . Ultimately, the most exaggerated Asian catches our hero, so without oki and handlessly throw the weapon and give up. All this is observed by a girl who is probably good but for now she is not on her side of the barricade, taking into account that she has eyes and hands. So the Asian is such a leader and tells his wisdom and suddenly the stormtroopers fall into the channel and shoot everyone and they throw axes Stormtroopers catch our heroes and this girl. They let the Commander know in a telephone mounted in his hand
At the headquarters they are interrogated. The one-armed man who is interrogated by the bald man who finally gets off. And in the other room lies our hero where he is interrogated by a woman.
Ultimately, he says it's pretty, so he releases him from this table; D By the way he releases this girl who they captured and together they go for a one-armed man who is now heavily tortured, but he is not as fertile as our main hero, nobody wants to release him, but ultimately our hero saves him from death.
this scene strangely reminds me of Star Wars hahaha; D So the tortured one turns out to be the most powerful of all at the moment :) of course, our hero has her plusik for her appearance so he doesn't attack him there. And so they chase and chase different objects like in Benny Hill, suddenly our one hand gets bullets in the forehead and dies. So there are only two of our hero and this girl from the tunnels. They run like that from time to time, our hero eliminates one stormtrooper, after which they manage to escape from this object and suddenly one-eyed appears :) and saves the hero from death. All three of us again go to the sewers :) There meet armies of midgets.
In the meantime, the bald man who interrogated the one-armed gets a new pair of eyes :) When a moment of peace and our heroes talk to the dwarf team cool, our stormtroopers suddenly turn on the sound that causes most of them to die through ear explosions. After that, however, we manage to escape our heroes and hmm women who have curtains everywhere.
It turns out that this is the seat of the big guys and of course stormtroopers appear, but our large group of heroes this time copes with them. We are approaching the final. Our heroes have to fight the lady and bald guy and free the people from the stormtroopers, if they succeed, I invite you to watch;)
