Hello everyone, here I bring you one of my favourite anime of 2025 Apocalypse Hotel, It is not the loud, action-packed kind of show that demands attention,Instead, it quietly pulls you in with its atmosphere, its stillness, and that strange feeling you get when something feels abandoned yet deeply cared for.
There is a certain kind of anime that doesn’t shout for your attention
, it doesn’t rush into action or overwhelm you with explanations, Apocalypse Hotel is that kind of story quiet, strange, and oddly comforting. It feels like walking into a place that should be abandoned, yet somehow still has the lights on and the floor freshly cleaned.
At its core, Apocalypse Hotel is set in a future where humans are no longer living on Earth, the world hasn’t exploded, there is no constant war or monsters roaming the streets humanity simply left, What remains is a beautifully eerie planet slowly being reclaimed by time, and in the middle of all that emptiness stands one place still functioning like nothing ever happened, a luxury hotel in Tokyo.
The hotel is run entirely by robots, led by a calm, devoted concierge who believes in one thing above all else hospitality, even though there are no guests, no reservations, and no signs of human life, the staff continue their routines, beds are made, floors are polished, meals are prepared, it is repetitive, quiet, and strangely emotional, watching machines hold on to a purpose meant for people sets the tone for the entire anime.
The storyline slowly opens up from there, but I’ll be careful not to spoil anything, What I can say is that the anime doesn’t stay stuck in silence forever, Visitors do arrive, not in the way you would expect and each arrival gently expands the world, instead of turning into chaos, the story leans into connection, adaptation, and the idea of building meaning even when the original reason for it is gone.
What really works about Apocalypse Hotel is its pacing, the anime isn’t in a hurry, Scenes are allowed to breathe, You will l get moments where nothing dramatic happens just robots talking, cleaning, or staring out at a world that no longer needs them, and somehow, those are the moments that hit the hardest, It makes you think about routine, loyalty, and what it means to keep going when the people you were created to serve are gone.
Even when the story starts introducing new elements and expanding its scope, it never loses that soft, reflective tone, the anime isn’t trying to shock you, it is inviting you to sit with its ideas, there is humor, there’s warmth, and there’s a gentle sadness that never fully disappears like background music you can’t quite turn off.
Another thing I really appreciated is how Apocalypse Hotel handles hope. It doesn’t force optimism, and it doesn’t drown in despair either, Instead, it exists somewhere in between, the story quietly asks questions like, If humans disappear, does meaning disappear too? can something built for one purpose evolve into something else? It doesn’t hand you answers, it just lets the setting, the characters, and atmosphere do the talking.
And visually,this anime is beautiful in a very way, the overgrown city scapes, spotless hotel interiors, the soft lighting, and calm color palettes, all work together to create a mood that feels both lonely and also peaceful in a way , the contrast between the untouched luxury of the hotel and the empty world outside is striking without being over loud.
What makes Apocalypse Hotel special is that it does not rely on any twists or any big reveals to just stay interesting, so yeah .... It is about waiting, remembering, and continuing, It is the kind of anime that sneaks up on you,and you do not realize how invested you are in it until an episode ends and you just sit there and think for a second.
Okay ... so I won’t give spoilers or anything because this is the kind of story that is just best experienced quietly, and moment by moment, It is not about rushing to finish, It is about absorbing the atmosphere and letting the themes actually settle in.
So yeah, If you enjoy anime that feels thoughtful, slightly melancholic, and also emotionally gentle, Apocalypse Hotel is definitely worth your time,you won't regret It, It is calm, reflective, and surprisingly human, even in a world without humans.

The story, the characters, the perfect blend of humor, drama, romance, and the complex themes it deals with are all fascinating. Desde ya les digo que, para mí, este animes es una obra maestra. Y ojo con esto ya que es sorprendente que lo diga y más de una serie original, o sea, una serie que fue creada de la nada y que no está basada en ninguna obra conocida anteriormente. De verdad, me sorprende bastante que al día de hoy se haya hablado muy, pero muy poco de este anime aún con lo fascinante y hermoso que es. Tanto la historia como los personajes, la mezcla perfecta de humor, drama, romance y los temas complejos que trata son de lo más fascinante. Y eso que no estoy mencionando lo audiovisual que es, prácticamente, una locura que dejaré mejor para el final, como siempre.
Tantas cosas buenas que se pueden decir de este anime y tan poca gente que veo que ni siquiera han hablado de ella es algo sorprendente. Entiendo que, al ser una obra original, no hay mucho que se conozca con lo que la gente se quiera afianzar y más si la mayoría de la audiencia de hoy en día prefieren algo que ya conocen o con lo que se sientan familiarizados. Es por eso que siempre se popularizan obras genéricas y con nula originalidad o autenticidad. Pero que lo infravalorado no le quite lo maravilloso que es este anime. Apocalypse Hotel es una obra que, desde su primer episodio, me convenció por completo que lo que tiene para contar es de las mejores historias que he visto en esta industria.
I think some of you reading this already know how much I love post-apocalyptic stories, and this one starts out as one of those. But it's not just any story about a completely destroyed and desolate world where we'll see the typical survival story we've seen so many times before. Instead, we'll see a very different story, as it takes place in a hotel run by autonomous, intelligent robots. Surely, most of you will have an idea of where this is going, but it's more like a variety of cases that happen in this huge building that we will be learning about throughout the anime. It is interesting that the story revolves mainly around the life of Yachiko, an android created and programmed to run and take care of the Gingarou Hotel even centuries after humanity has gone into space. We see things from her past, her origins, and how the new extraterrestrial visitors that this hotel receives open their minds to a huge variety of options and alternatives for hosting and dealing with beings that are not human. Suddenly, what was once a desolate and completely abandoned planet becomes a tourist destination available to the entire galaxy. But beyond this, we also see the construction and development of different relationships that transcend time and space.

Creo que ya algunos de los que me están leyendo sabrán lo mucho que me fascinan las historias post-apocalípticas y esta empieza siendo una de ellas. Pero no es cualquier historia de un mundo completamente destruido y desolado donde veremos la típica historia de supervivencia de siempre. Sino que veremos una historia muy diferente al tratarse de un hotel mantenido por robots autónomos e inteligentes. Seguramente, la mayoría se hará una idea de por dónde irá todo esto, pero es más como una variedad de casos que suceden en este enorme edificio lo que estaremos conociendo a lo largo del anime. La mayoría de los casos son sobre algunos de los clientes que visitarán el Hotel Gingarou, así como también algunos de los miembros del mismo personal.
Es interesante que la historia gira mayormente en la vida de Yachiko, una androide creada y programada para dirigir y cuidar del Hotel Gingarou aún siglos después de que la humanidad se haya ido al espacio. Vemos cosas de su pasado, su origen y cómo los nuevos visitantes extraterrestres que este hotel recibe les abre la mente a una enorme variedad de opciones y alternativas de hospedar y tratar con seres que no son humanos. De pronto, lo que en su momento fue un planeta desolado y completamente abandonado, se convierte en un lugar turístico para hospedarse disponible para toda la galaxia. Another detail I really like about this anime is its characters. Starting with Yachiko and her unique and striking personality (even for a robot). Her obsession with order, cleanliness, and chores is typical of her programming, but we can also see traits in her personality that simulate human emotions quite well. This is nothing new in a science fiction work where robots simulate humans, but in this case, that is not the intention, as it is assumed that everything she does, thinks, and feels is part of her programming. Nevertheless, it is fascinating to see how a robot manages to become attached and establish close relationships with intelligent and emotional beings.
This is where we mention the space Tanuki family. Of all the members, I would like to highlight Ponko, one of the children of this family who, due to certain circumstances, decides to work alongside the robots at the Gingarou Hotel. Seeing his development and growth over the course of the episodes—which do not follow a fixed timeline and have many jumps between one and another—is delightful because, in my opinion, he is one of the best characters in this anime. His funny way of being, his personality, his courage, his intelligence, everything. We also meet a few other characters among the many alien visitors who arrive at the hotel and who, in one way or another, stand out quite a bit.

Otro detalle que me gusta mucho también de este anime son sus personajes. Empezando por Yachiko y su personalidad única y llamativa (aún para ser un robot). Su obsesión con el orden, la limpieza y las tareas es algo típico de su programación, pero también podemos ver rasgos de su personalidad que simulan bastante bien las emociones humanas. No es novedad alguna ver esto en una obra de ciencia ficción donde los robots simulan ser humanos, pero en este caso no se busca eso ya que se asume que todo lo que hace, piensa y siente es parte de su programación. Igualmente, es fascinante ver cómo una robot logra encariñarse y establecer relaciones estrechas con seres inteligentes y emocionales.
Es aquí donde mencionamos a la familia de Tanukis espaciales. De todos los miembros, quiero destacar especialmente a Ponko, una de los hijos de esta familia que, debido a ciertas circunstancias, decide trabajar junto con los robots en el Hotel Gingarou. Ver su desarrollo y crecimiento con el paso de los episodios -los cuales no llevan una línea fija de tiempo y tiene muchos saltos entre uno y otro- es encantador ya que, considero yo, es de los mejores personajes que tiene este anime. Su forma graciosa de ser, su personalidad, su valentía, su inteligencia, todo. One that really caught my attention was the space kangaroo that calls itself "Harmageddon," or something like that. Anyway, I think it goes without saying that this touch they give the characters to make them authentic and unforgettable is one of the best things this anime has to offer. The jokes in the anime are funny, with scenes that mostly give the story a humorous touch. We can also see several episodes that are quite calm and relaxing, to be honest. In itself, each episode is a story to be told that is fascinating on its own, but when combined with the rest, they build an even more fascinating story. The way the anime deals with complex issues such as existentialism, happiness, time, absence, parental and family problems, change, and loss is incredible. Not only because these messages and experiences feel real, but also because, despite the humor and unique personality of each character, they maintain the serious and delicate moments as they are.

Uno de ellos que me llamó mucho la atención fue el kanguro espacial que se hace llamar “Harmageddon”, o algo así. Solo fue un episodio en el que salió, pero fue de los mejores de este anime y no solo lo digo por las escenas increíbles de acción que tiene, sino por la manera en la que le da sentimiento y un pequeño toque de romance entre un ser espacial que también es un destructor de civilizaciones y una robot y conserje de un hotel. En fin, creo que está de más decir que este toque que le dan a los personajes para que sean auténticos e inolvidables es de lo mejor que tiene este anime para ofrecer. Otra cosa que tiene esta serie es la manera tan natural y para nada forzosa de mezclar la comedia con el drama, la acción y el romance.
Los chistes que tiene el anime son divertidos, con escenas que mayormente le dan ese toque humorístico a la historia. También podemos ver varios episodios bastante tranquilos y relajantes, la verdad. En sí, cada episodio es una historia propia para contar que es fascinante por sí sola, pero que en conjunto con el resto construyen una historia mucho más fascinante aún. La manera que tiene el anime de tratar temas complejos como el existencialismo, la felicidad, el tiempo, la ausencia, los problemas parentales y familiares, los cambios y la pérdida es increíble. No solo porque se sienten de verdad dichos mensajes y experiencias, sino que, a pesar del humor y la personalidad única de cada uno, mantienen los momentos serios y delicados como lo que son.

Although, of course, they don't have such an extensive repertoire of adaptations and animated works that you can count them on your fingers. But despite this, there are a few works that I have seen in broad strokes and found fascinating on an audiovisual level. I consider this studio to be one of those sleeping giants that can even compete with other studios such as MAPPA or CloverWorks, without exaggerating at all.
With this in mind, we can already get a clear idea of the level of quality and detail in this fascinating anime. To begin with, I really love the drawing and animation style. The character design, the vivid color palette, the visual effects, the fluidity, and the transitions are top-notch. The anime strikes a balance between a pleasant and simple aesthetic without losing the details and fluidity of each scene. The sound effects are excellent, so much so that each character can be distinguished by the sounds they make. The soundtrack is also completely crazy, especially when it comes to setting the mood for each scene. The opening is an audiovisual marvel. In short, this is an anime that you have to see at least once in your life.
Personally, I give it a 10/10 in terms of the science fiction, comedy, and adventure genres.

Por último, pero no menos importante, hablemos del apartado audiovisual que tiene este anime original. Antes de darles mi opinión de esto, debo comentarles que conozco muy poco del trabajo de CygamesPictures. Aunque, claro, no tienen tampoco un repertorio de adaptaciones y obras animadas tan extenso que se puede contar incluso con las manos. Pero a pesar de lo poco, sí hay una que otra obra que he visto a muy grandes rasgos y que me han parecido fascinantes a nivel audiovisual. Considero que este estudio es uno de esos gigantes dormidos que incluso pueden hacerle competencia a otros estudios como MAPPA o CloverWorks, sin exagerar en lo absoluto.
Teniendo esto en cuenta, ya podemos tener una noción clara del nivel de calidad y detalles que tiene este fascinante anime. Para empezar, el estilo de dibujo y animación me encanta bastante. El diseño de los personajes, la paleta de colores vivos, los efectos visuales, la fluidez y las transiciones son de lo mejor. El anime consigue un equilibrio entre una estética bastante agradable y sencilla, pero sin perder los detalles y la fluidez de cada escena. Los efectos de sonido son excelentes, tanto que hasta cada personaje se les puede distinguir por los sonidos que hacen. La banda sonora es también una completa locura y más cuando se busca ambientar cada escena. El opening que tiene es una maravilla audiovisual. En fin, este es un anime que tienes que ver sí o sí, al menos una vez en toda tu vida.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 10/10 en lo que respecta al género de ciencia ficción, comedia y aventura.

Since last week a few anime have already ended, among them, there is one that surprised me, it is not the best story, but it really captivated me at the end and it made me a plot with a different feel to others I've seen, robots in post apocalyptic scenarios managing a hotel? Well, it really has its hook from the beginning, so, here are my impressions.
Apocalypse Hotel (アポカリプスホテル)…
Released in early April of this year, ending with a total of 12 episodes; the director in charge was Kana Shundo and the animation studio was CygamesPictures. It is an original story, of post-apocalyptic genre.
After a lethal airborne virus, called “contamination by misfortune” began to spread throughout the earth, making the air toxic to all primate species, including humans (not even the special suits worked), so they had to leave the earth until they found a habitable solution. Centuries later, nature made its way, recovering territory, however, after desolate scenarios of all modernity, there still remains an intact hotel, functioning thanks to the management of robots waiting for humanity to return.
All these robots are led by Yachiyo, who has a humanoid appearance, who hopes that the owner of the hotel will return, as he promised; however, little by little they are feeling the passing of time, which makes them have their existential crises like humans, especially Yachiyo, since she is the one who has more programming towards human emotions. Even with the lonely scenario, they will have a different course, when this hotel will not only become an accommodation for humans (as there are no more), but will open its doors to other beings from space.
Will humans be able to re-inhabit the earth? Will robots be able to adapt to these new species of beings and welcome them in the best way possible? You will have to watch it to find out how it will develop.
Definitely what I loved about Apocalypse Hotel, was the authenticity of each of its characters and the dynamic between each of its episodes, each one was different from the other, but followed its continuity, to what I mean, it's like what happens in a hotel, many guests that you don't get to see anymore (maybe yes), but their stay will be remembered by its employees as a way to improve their services, and move forward with better features without losing its essence for future guest.
Yachiyo with her existential crises gave me a lot of laughter, because one can see oneself reflected in her, especially when she has the blows of loneliness, and that is something strange, knowing that she is a robot, but I feel that this is the objective of the story, to highlight the “humanity” in robots. The fact that they have to adapt and learn other space cultures, allows us to reflect that when you want to evolve and improve things in your environment, you have to give yourself the opportunity to be more open to other thoughts and take things in the best possible way.
The animation was unique to me, it's not the best, but it's quite fluid and detailed, and it highlights very well the contrast between ancient and modern, between nature and civilization; that melancholic air that is charged in certain scenes, it introduces you to those emotions they are going through and how it changes, as they are having other companies and interacting with others. What I didn't like were the many years that passed suddenly, from the actual time, between 50 to 100 years passed and one like, when did so much time pass in my eyes? Plus at one point, one comes to wonder when humans will be around, but I guess that was also the essence of the anime, a story without humans, but that somehow feels human.

Definitely, my favorite episode is episode 11, if you get to see it you will know why, is that it handles the same theme of loneliness, but from another perspective and even feels different, it transmits a lot. So, I consider that this was a good anime, it brings a lot of background.

Desde la semana pasada ya finalizaron unos cuantos animes, entre ellos, hay uno que me sorprendió, no es la mejor historia, pero realmente al final me termino cautivando y se me hizo una trama como con un aire distinta a otras que he visto ¿robots en escenarios post apocalípticos administrando un hotel? Pues realmente tiene su enganche desde el inicio, así que, aquí les dejó mis impresiones.
Apocalypse Hotel (アポカリプスホテル)…
Estrenada a principios de abril de este año, terminando con un total de 12 episodios; el director a cargo fue Kana Shundo y el estudio de animación fue CygamesPictures. Es una historia original, de genero postapocalíptico.
Tras un virus letal aéreo, denominado "contaminación por infortunio" que comenzó a extenderse por toda la tierra, volviendo el aire toxico para toda especie primate, incluyendo a los humanos (ni los trajes especiales funcionaban), por lo que tuvieron que abandonar la tierra hasta encontrar una solución habitable. Siglos después, la naturaleza se abrió camino, recuperando territorio, sin embargo, tras escenarios desolados de toda modernidad, aun permanece un hotel intacto, funcionando gracias a la gestión de unos robots que esperan a que la humanidad regrese.

Definitivamente lo que amé de Apocalypse Hotel, fue la autenticidad de cada uno de sus personajes y la dinámica entre cada uno de sus episodios, cada uno era distinto al otro, pero seguía su continuidad, a lo que quiero decir, es como lo que pasa en un hotel, muchos invitados que no llegas a ver más (puede que sí), pero su estadía será recordada por sus empleados como una forma de mejorar sus servicios, y seguir adelante con mejores funciones sin perder su esencia para futuros huésped.
Yachiyo con sus crisis existenciales me daba mucha risa, porque uno se puede ver reflejada en ella, más cuando tiene los golpes de soledad, y eso es algo extraño, sabiendo que es un robot, pero siento que ese es el objetivo de la historia, resaltar la “humanidad” en los robots. El hecho de que ellos tengan que adaptarse y aprender otras culturas del espacio, nos permite reflexionar que cuando quieres evolucionar y mejorar las cosas en tu entorno, tienes que darte la oportunidad de ser más abierto hacia otros pensamientos y llevar las cosas de la mejor forma posible.
La animación se me hizo única, no es la mejor, pero es bastante fluida y detallada, y resalta muy bien ese contraste entre lo antiguo y moderno, entre la naturaleza y la civilización; ese aire melancólico que se carga en ciertas escenas, te introduce a esas emociones por la que están atravesando y como va cambiando, a medida que van teniendo otras compañías y relacionándose con otros. Lo que no me gusto fueron los tantos años que pasaban de repente, del tiempo actual, pasaban entre 50 a 100 años y uno como que, ¿Cuándo pasaron tanto tiempo a mis ojos? Definitivamente, mi episodio favorito es el 11, si lo llegan a ver sabrán el porqué, es que se maneja el mismo tema de la soledad, pero desde otra perspectiva e incluso se siente diferente, transmite mucho. Así que, considero que este fue un buen anime, trae mucho consigo como de trasfondo.

Bienvenue au dernier Hôtel de l'apocalypse
Après qu'une étrange maladie ne touchant que les primate , tous les primate ( humain compris on reste un primate ) meurt , les dernier survivant s'enfuit dans l'espace par tirage au sort pour monter dans les fusée .
L'hôtel étant entièrement automatiser par de androïdes qui l'entretienne , prépare les repas , fait les propre cultures , élevages ect , il devient donc le dernier hôtel sur telle qui est encore fonctionnelle et qui fournis de l'électricité , malgré les robots qui ""décèdent"" les uns après après les autres par manque de pièces de rechange , nous suivant une androïde qui fait tous pour que cette hôtel soit le plus luxueux de la planète pour accueillir les humain a leurs retours .
Au début de la série , dans le premier épisode nous sentons tous le désespoir de ne pas voir les humain revenir après plus de 100 ans à entretenir l'hôtel et c'est environs , mêlé a l'espoir de leurs retour maintenant que le virus n'est plus détecté sur la planète par les autre robot environnemental qui ont pour mission de purifier l'air l'eaux et préservé toutes les autres espèces .
A l'épisode deux nous avons ENFIN le premier client après 100 ans d'attente , mais malheureusement pas un humain , mais une sorte d'alien bizarre dont notre héroine essaie de le servir au mieux , mais les deux pour commencer ne ce comprennent absolument pas par le langage aussi bien parler que gestuelle , mais pas grave , notre robot ne ce démonte pas et fait tous pour servir le client au mieux possible en ce disant que cette alien est le premier client en 100 ans et que si il sont bien servie il mettra une bonne note sur le site ( sachant que elle sais pertinemment que il n'y as plus internet ) ce qui donne des situation assez comique .
Ensuite l'hôtel accueillera environs tous les 50 à 100 ans d'autres espèce et fera tous pour les servir au mieux , et nous avons au bout de 4 épisode enfin des ennemie comme la race des vers géant ou toute les planète ou il passe est détruite .
Manga sympathique à suivre entre l'espoir du retour des humain par les robot de l'hôtel qui veulent ( enfin veulent on dira plutôt programmé mais une conscience ) que l'hôtel soit parfait , et nous spectateurs qui savons depuis les première seconde de l'épisode 1 qu'ils n'ont survécu que ce soit sur terre ou dans l'espace .

The last few days have provided some cool news for fans of The Last Airbender. On July 22, a book dedicated to Jin, a character from the second season of Avatar, will go on sale. The sequel is called Seven Havens, it will continue the threads of Korra and will have 26 episodes divided into 2 seasons. Episodes will be 30 minutes long. What's more, a movie concluding Aang's storyline will be released in January.

Ostatnie dni dostarczyły trochę fajnych newsów dla fanów The Last Airbender. 22 lipca do sprzedaży trafi książka poświęcona Jinowi, postaci z drugiego sezonu Avatara. Sequel nazywa się Seven Havens, będzie kontynuował wątki Korry i będzie miał 26 odcinków rozbitych na 2 sezony. Odcinki będą trwały 30 minut. Co więcej, w styczniu pojawi się film kończący wątek Aanga.
