  1. Baywatch (2017) is a retarted pile of dog shit@trumpman1615d

Yay! Another film I wish I had never watched. Oh well, at least I didn't pay for it in the cinema 😂

Baywatch is simply put a retarded cash grab relying on a popular 90s franchise. Nothing more nothing less.

Stupid plot, stupid casting, stupid jokes.. Heck, they couldn't even get the boob size right, probably because of some BS political correctness reason... Explains also the emphasis on dicks, which were the only nudity you can expect from this movie. Yes I am not shitting you. You won't see a single naked (female) tit. But you will see a naked dick. Hooorrayyyy.

Even the Mitch cameo felt meh.

At least The Rock puts some effort and makes it a somewhat bearable action comedy... A bearable pile of dog shit that is.

    Don't watch.

I'm glad I didn't see this in theatres. It really isn't very good, which is too bad because all these actors are quite talented and deserve better. This is based on a tv show that was popular in the 1990s. The original starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, this one replaces them with Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Alexandria Daddario.

Johnson is Mitch, Efron and Daddario are... well it doesn't really matter. They're there to be life guards who solve crime on the side, make homophobic jokes and generally try to make the script work.

You can see where this movie wanted to be like 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, but they also couldn't get away from trying to be raunchy in a way that really doesn't work. I don't mind raunchy humour, but this one take a homophobic route to it.

  3. Baywatch [2017] - not as bad as I thought it would be!@unbiasedwriter2770d

As the Baywatch movie came to theaters worldwide in 2017, I steered clear from it. I had no interest in this junk movie at all, and I didn't think more about it after that.

Then, a few weeks ago, a family member for some reason told me how she actually enjoyed the movie as she watched it with her boyfriend. I was clearly surprised by that, and as a result, I decided to go ahead and watch the Baywatch movie from 2017 myself.

    Zac Efron in Baywatch.jpg

Back in the days, I watched quite a lot of episodes of the original Baywatch series. Now, I am really curious what it was really like, because the Baywatch movie of 2017 felt more like a parody of the original one, than a "look-a-like." Maybe the original TV series was funny as well, but if it was, I did not get the jokes back then.

    Dwayne Johnson as Mitch Buchannon

I am not a big fan of Dwayne Johnson, but I have got to say, his movies are quite easy to like. He is this brutal, cool, funny, strong, good-looking superhero in all his movies, and the same is true about his role in Baywatch. He is out there looking for new people to work by the beach to protect the people, and as a punishment, he has to make Matt Brody (played by Zac Efron) one of his new people. It is a culture crash as Matt Brody is the super cool, Olympic champion, who doesn't take an order from anyone. Mitch doesn't like that, and do not want to have Matt on the team... but he is forced to bring him in.

The Baywatch crew doesn't only help swimmers in danger, but they also work as a sort of local police guard, even though the police doesn't embrace that activity. Quite a lot of drugs have shown up lately along the beach, and someone is deeply into illegal activities. But, who is that, and how can they be stopped?

There are other famous actors also playing in Baywatch, for example, Alexandra Daddario (who also played together with Dwayne Johnson in San Andreas). Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff can also be seen for short moments in the movie.

    Is Baywatch an enjoyable movie?

To be honest, I was surprised as I watched it. I am not sure if I consider Baywatch to be a comedy with action or an action movie with lots of jokes, but it could fit into both categories. They are joking a lot with the Robbie (Jon Bass), a guy playing the lame want-to-be-part-of-the-Baywatch-team, and also a guy who is totally in love with C. J. Parker. He totally freezes whenever C. J. Parker comes near to him, and this always leads to funny and awkward situations.

All in all, Baywatch is an enjoyable movie if you just want an easy-to-watch comedy with some action for the evening. If you are not in the mood for stupid jokes and big muscle humor from Dwayne Johnson, go watch something else instead!

Have you seen Baywatch? How did you like it? I would love to hear your thoughts.

You can currently watch Baywatch on streaming services like Amazon Prime and Hulu in the United States.

  4. The New Baywatch Is Surprisingly Hilarious & Entertaining! 8.5/10 Score!@evoman13165d

    BaywatchBar.jpg

This new Baywatch movie is awesome. My wife and I have been watching movies pretty much non-stop since we got pregnant and had our child in 2017 so we've been selecting movies to watch we probably would have passed over previously. Dwayne Johnson of course is spectacular as well as Zac Efron. The females selected are perfect for their roles with a combination of great looks and witty humor. I would give this movie a solid 8.5/10 for pure enjoyment. It looks amazing visually as well. Definitely recommend checking this one out in your spare time.

  6. Review Film: Baywatch (2017)@film-trail3260d

What do we expect when watching a "Baywatch" with posters filled with sexy body players who wear swimsuits? Beach, muscle, and "cleavage". Fun as entertainment 5 minutes, but not so as a long,  We need more than that.

Equally adapted from the old TV series, they say Baywatch movies will be like 21 Jump Street. The approach is similar, in that they almost completely ignore the original material, instead of replacing it with the comedies of the joking duo and interspersed with self-referential humor. I'll tell you: Baywatch is not worth 21 Jump Street. Both use a similar formula, but in a conversation, Seth Gordon is not as creative and as smart as the duo of Phil Lord & Christopher Miller.

The movie is "R" / "Adult", allowing it to feature a more free joke, down to the level of vulgarity that makes me a little awkward. There are a few throws of curses, but also jokes about the funny penis momentarily then become crisp when excessive. In one moment even Zac Efron had to play with a corpse's corpse.

Dwayne Johnson who looks like Dwayne Johnson usually: a great muscular tough guy who will not only save you when you drown, but it seems to also be able to slaughter a shark with just one hand. Together with two colleagues, CJ (Kelly Rohrbach) and Stephanie (Ilfenesh Hadera), Mitch is holding a new coast guard admission exam.

     Candidates are:

    • Matt (Efron), a two-time world champion swimmer whose career has run aground due to vomiting in the swimming arena. He likes to take the exam because it's the only option. But his ego got a rival that was comparable to Mitch's ego.
    • Summer (Alexandra Daddario), who is not only very competent in the field of the coast-guard, but also has a very sexy body and beautiful face
    • Ronnie (Jon Bass), with a physique in which it not good united to be a lifeguard. But don't judge people, Ronnie's have a golden heart.

These iconic coast guards will be faced with a case where there is a group of people trying to smuggle drugs through the shore. This crime is led by Victoria Leeds (Priyanka Chopra) who wants to master the real estate in the coastal area.Unfortunately despite starring top actors like Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, the fact that these big stars can not help this movie flying in the Box Office. Chemistry between the two were intertwined less powerful.

Labeled as a bad adaptation film from movie critics, Baywatch does look like a movie that is not mature. In addition, the emergence of the cast of women who should be able to provide fresh air just for a moment as a sweetener. No exception Alexandra Daddario, who actually took many important roles in this film.

The film also became the debut Priyanka Chopra, actress and Miss World in 2000 who tried acting in a Hollywood movie. Priyanka has also joined the production of other Hollywood films by becoming a voice in the film Planes (2003) and The Jungle Book (2016) Indian version.

    RATING (6/10)
