Bollywood's Bhool Bhulaiyaa series is all about fun stories, catchy songs and nostalgic dialogues in an atmosphere of horror. The first episode which started in 2007 with Akshay Kumar in the lead became a huge hit with the song Hare Krishna Hare Ram from the movie still ingrained in the hearts of the audience. Then after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Karthik Aaryan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released in November 2024 which added a new dimension to the horror comedy genre. I am also a big fan of this Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. So I couldn't resist watching Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Let me share that story with you. Don't worry I won't give any spoilers.

The first movie in 2007, starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Shiney Ahuja, was based on the myth of Manjulika. The story was basically a young man and his wife move into a village mansion, and supernatural events begin to occur there. Vidya Balan's character Manjulika in the first episode was strong and dominant, creating a sense of dread and mystery. And its influence still remains among the audience. And this is the reason why the audience loves Bhool Bhulaiyaa series.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa second part was lighter and comedy-oriented than the first episode, with less emphasis on the supernatural. The atmosphere of fear here is also less than the first episode and more witty dialogues and humor are added. Manjulica's role was also less dominant here than before. Because of this, before the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, many thought that it would be something like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. But no, when it comes to the story of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 1 to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 - this series has set a new paradigm in the horror-comedy genre for film lovers. Although each movie revolves around an insatiable soul called Manjulika, each story has a different flavor and variety of themes.
The story of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is based on the ghostly mystery of that old haveli. While the ghostly character Manjulika and her cursed story are at the center of the story, this episode adds a new twist and depth that is quite different from the previous episodes. Many new characters have been added here which add to the complexity of the story and keep the viewer engrossed in the mystery till the end.
A major asset of this movie is Karthik Aaryan's acting skills and his witty dialogue delivery. Karthik has given a new look to his character, which is more mature and interesting than the previous installments. Rajpal Yadav's humorous character adds a great fun element to the story. This episode also introduces some new characters, which adds to the drama and variety of the story.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3's specialty is its background score and ghostly atmosphere. Suspenseful music is used to convey Manjulica's presence, which creates a sense of dread far beyond the audience's expectations. Another special aspect of this movie is the new version of the Hare Krishna Hare Ram song, which gives a nostalgic feeling to the horror atmosphere.
Although the movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is well made, there are still some flaws. Some parts of the story felt repetitive, especially in some parts of creating a ghostly atmosphere that found touches from previous episodes. It tries to gamble on novelty in the story but while watching the movie it feels like we have seen these stories before which can reduce the depth of the story. Also some of the comedy scenes seemed a bit forced, which did not sustain the expected level of laughs. So many actors have been cast here than needed that not everyone's roles are properly focused. Which I feel bad about.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has received a huge response from the audience since its release in Bollywood, but it has not been able to hold the audience's attention. . But looking at its rating, it seems to be an average type movie, the film has earned a rating of 5.8/10 on IMDb. It is considered by many to be one of the best horror comedies of Bollywood in recent times. However, critics felt that the story lacked innovation and that repetition of some scenes could have been avoided.
The movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is an excellent addition to the horror comedy genre of Bollywood. . The spooky atmosphere of the movie, the background score and the nostalgic dialogues and songs brought a complete entertainment to the audience.
