Si hay un género en el cine que desde hace mucho tiempo se le permita mantener una larga serie de películas, ese es el género del terror, en especial el "Slasher" y justamente en esta publicación haré reseña del sexto film de una franquicia que no quiere morir, que busca reinventarse, respetando el legado dejado por el gran Wes Craven, pero al mismo tiempo tratando de dejar una marca nueva que atraiga a nuevas generaciones de fans de esta franquicia.

De las cuatro anteriores reseñas (me falta por reseñar Scream 4), he dejado claro mi aprecio por esta franquicia que me hizo fan del género slasher; un género sencillo, rápido y divertido, en donde dos factores importantes como son los motivos del asesino y la representación de la "Final Girl", pueden ser lo da un sentido a toda una historia; está franquicia se esmera en hacer una excelente representación de los dos factores usando u homenajeando lo hecho en films, clásicos del terror usando como una influencia completa para toda la franquicia. En "Scream 6", veremos cómo un año después de los asesinatos creados por "Ghostface" en Woodsboro, todavía sigue creando un fuerte trauma en la vida de "Sam", lamentablemente su pasado muy ligado a los asesinatos en ese lugar será algo que no podrá olvidar tan fácilmente y eso está afectando a la vida de las personas más cercanas a ella, pero al momento en dónde nuevamente aparecen víctimas de viles y violentos asesinatos, ella sabrá que el terror que vivió el pasado año está de vuelta y que está vez deberá ser más fuerte porque en esta oportunidad, Ghostface será más despiadado que nunca.

El pasado año con el estreno de "Scream 5", tenía ciertas dudas y muchas expectativas sobre cómo sería el trabajo de la pareja de directores Matt Bettinelli-Olpin y Tyler Gillett, sorpresivamente me pareció excelente la manera de revalorizar la historia, manteniendo el humor y el suspenso impuesto por Craven en los anteriores films, pero al tener conocimiento de la realización de esta película, tuve nuevas expectativas sobre que libertad o marca personal le pueden brindar a la historia y puedo decir que a pesar de no tener cambios radicales con respecto a escenas de acción y suspenso, puedo decir que nuevamente ser tan gráfico o pasional en las escenas de las muertes, es lo que más me ha gustado y eso lo digo que hay que recordar que está película, el asesino no es alguien sobrenatural, ni se explora el sadismo como en otros films, son personas, enfermas mentalmente y eso hace que los asesinatos puedan representar lo que sienten al cometerlos, eso lo imprime muy bien estos directores.
La historia me gustó aunque sigue todavía respetando el legado de los anteriores films, en especial de las dos primeras películas y eso está bien por cómo se desarrolla esta nueva tanda de películas eso será imposible de dejar atrás; ahora, enfocado en el relato de esta nueva película de la franquicia, a pesar de que se respeta el legado, opino que existe un mensaje de guionistas, directores y productores a todo fan, que es momento de dar otro paso más, una evolución de la historia y posiblemente está sexta pueda ser un final para ciertas cosas y abrir la puerta a otras y creo que todo lo referente a que está franquicia es un ejemplo a lo que es un "Meta Movie" siempre será en parte una base para cada una de sus películas; en esto diré que el trabajo de James Vanderbilt y Guy Busick, es excelente porque ambos tienen cuidado en respetar los elementos de la historia de la franquicia, crean motivos al asesino que sí, pueden ser repetitivos, pero a la vez van muy unidos a todo lo que sucede en esta historia por completo y nuevamente repetiré lo del "legado", pero justamente es el tema principal de este sexto film, es la base del comportamiento de todos los personajes.

Soy repetitivo en mi opinión con respecto a las actuaciones en este tipo de films las cuales no les exijo que sean las mejores y eso porque creo que todo se basa en que aceptable puede ser el trabajo realizado por cada actor dependiendo del personaje cliché que debe interpretar y en esta oportunidad me gusta que existan muchos personajes que no se especifica en un solo de esos clichés, sino que al final es un conjunto o un complemento de diferentes comportamientos, por ejemplo, cada uno puede ser divertido, enamorado, tonto, valiente, miedoso y aunque existe un solo virgen, todos estos personajes son considerados posibles víctimas porque al final todo entran en la nueva tanda de reglas de un film slasher; eso es genial porque son muchas más muertes en escena y aunque sea poco exigente, debo decir que lamentablemente este puede ser el punto más vulnerable de esta película en dónde no hay una evolución de sus muchos personajes, sino de los considerados como principales porque es obligatorio para este tipo de films, pero los demás es hacer lo ya hecho anteriormente y eso personalmente no me pareció bien.

Me divertí mucho viendo Scream 6, es un film bueno, no lo considero que está entre mi top 3 de películas dentro de esta franquicia, pero es una buena secuela del film estrenado el pasado año, con esto digo que funciona como continuación de esta nueva etapa y me gusta que sea pasional, visceral, violenta y a la vez divertida, me gusta porque se sigue tomando en serio la influencia del cine y ahora se suma el uso o mal uso de blogs y redes sociales, eso también hace que está historia sea actual porque cada vez más se puede leer diferentes opiniones (retorcidas) sobre cualquier tema y eso es un punto muy relevante en esta nueva historia dentro de la franquicia; me parece bien todo el asunto de respetar el legado de los otros films, pero creo que en esta oportunidad se usó la sátira como homenaje a ciertas decisiones clásicas de la franquicia y que a primera vista no me agrado mucho; posiblemente cuando decida volverla a ver entienda un poco más de las decisiones, pero creo que todo puede motivar a hacer algo mejor en un próximo film. Esta franquicia es dedicada a los fans, creo que el éxito que ha alcanzado radica en que justamente quienes nos ha gustado "SCREAM", ahora debemos tener el trabajo de promocionar toda la serie de películas a quienes decidan verlas y posiblemente sea lo que impulse a hacer otras más, por lo menos una que cierre está historia y nos sorprenda con respecto a la revelación del asesino.

This franchise is dedicated to the fans, I think the success it has achieved lies precisely in the fact that those of us who have liked "SCREAM", now we must have the job of promoting the entire series of films to those who decide to see them and possibly this will be what drives us to make more films, at least one that closes this story and surprises us with respect to the revelation of the murderer.
