When the framework and the still-vibrant bloody organs, metaphorical elements of a story are very well defined, I enjoy seeing how each person can give it a different interpretation, imbuing the story with their own personality. It’s different, yet it retains the appeal of the core that captivated me in that so-called “original” story I enjoyed. In the end, what matters is how that inspiring canvas—which in this case uses love, which I feel is genuine—is worked on to turn it into horror, something I also see when love is unrequited 🫀🫀
Bride of the Re-Animator is a 1990 film entirely inspired by that famous Bride of Frankenstein. If you like that bizarre conflict, believe me, you’ll love this one too—because I’ve fallen in love with the necrotic look of this Bride who just wanted to live for love 🥹🥹
It certainly draws a lot of inspiration from that story. I think this movie has influenced the way I see things—adding its own sinister twist to the themes of life and love after death

I’m sharing the trailer with you so you can get a better visual idea of what this romantic horror story has to offer. You can watch it with your girlfriend or wife—she’ll love the sweetest aspects of love, like doing literally anything for the one you love—while you enjoy the horror elements 😱 😱
This review focuses more on actress Kathleen Kimmont, who plays The Bride of Re-Animator. I was totally surprised by what I saw from her, because this is a franchise that makes a real effort to maintain continuity in the story
For those who aren’t yet familiar with this cult franchise, you can watch this one without having seen the first one. I encourage you to give it a chance because its inspiration from The Bride of Frankenstein is well known, and I’m sure that after this, you’ll want to watch the first installment. Both are extremely entertaining to watch—though, of course, this film’s contributions are few but delightful and thrilling to see 🤩🤩
I think this woman has one major weakness, and that is precisely love. It’s been established in our culture or civilization that love is good, but I don’t think that’s the case. What I see is that it tends more toward causing suffering and being self-destructive when things don’t go the way you want them to.... So, in reality, what you really want is for things to go the way you want them to 😐😐
Gloria is The Precious Bride, an angelic being in life—and, I believe, in death as well. She didn’t want what happened to her, but it’s all part of the experiment. I like this because I do find it interesting to collect data on the feelings of a reanimated being.
Dr. Herbert West, played by Jeffrey Combs, is proud of his creation—and how could he not be, when it’s a being with real feelings? You know how brilliant it is to create real feelings—now that’s the stuff of mad scientists 🤪🤪.... Creating a woman—and at the same time a monster—who would give everything she had for her beloved, and boy, did I love the way he did it 😍😍
I think there are several critical elements that didn’t quite work in this story. As the sequel to a fledgling franchise, it strives to continue the story in a far-fetched, highly illogical way—even within the illogical framework it sets up. There is true love, but that love isn’t fully realized in this film, and that does affect it 🫤🫤

Despite all that, I applaud the screenwriters’ ability to take what was originally a negative criticism and turn it into one of the central themes of this movie, because if you don’t have all the elements of that original woman who accompanied Dr. West at the franchise’s inception… well, let’s just take the elements from another Muner, hahaha 🤪🤪👍🏻
That part turned out great—it’s remarkable. I’m in love with this version of the Bride; I love them all, haha 😂😂.... But what I didn’t like was the useless Groom, whose acting lacks any emotional depth—he’s more like the return of the previous villain 😐😐
They really affect the movie; they create unnecessary subplots from a storytelling perspective. Sure, they provide some fun action, but they distract me too much from the bride—it’s like going back to the first movie, and honestly, I didn’t want to go back
Bruce Abbot as Dr. Dan Cain is deader than the dead people in the movie; he may be sad, but what I see is someone without emotions, and because of that, his drama didn’t move me at all.
Plus an evil head that comes back to contribute nothing 😅😅
What I want you to take away from this is the exploration of this Bride—her appearance, her performance, her internal struggle with unrequited love, and her decision to become The Bride of Re-Animator 🫀🫀
I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.
