   Y después del final de la primera temporada que nos dejó con la entrada de alucard, por fin podemos continuar con esta increíble historia que es una especie de secuela a la serie original de Castlevania, y digo especie porque la verdad se puede disfrutar de manera completamente individual, Eso sí, si bien la primera temporada nos queda a de ver con muchos aspectos la verdad es que esta segunda temporada vuelve todo mucho más grande y mucho mejor.

   Otra cosa que si tengo que decir de esta segunda temporada es que las relaciones amorosas de muchos personajes Por fin se ven destacadas por fin se siente que no es algo simplemente forzado que no termina de llegar a nada termina siendo un aspecto cumbre dentro de la propia trama, y algo que se tengo que decir es que recomiendo muchísimo esta serie tanto como la anterior serie de Castlevania, aparte se nota que tienen planes de continuar con una tercera temporada, no quiero decir ningún spoiler así que les recomiendo simplemente ir y disfrutarla y es perfecta para un maratón de fin de semana.

   The first Castlevania series is without any doubt one of the best video game adaptations ever made. With four seasons the Castlevania series was able to demonstrate that video game adaptations are not impossible, as long as the creators respect the original product and by saying this I am not saying that it is necessary that the adaptation is an exact copy of the events that occurred in the video game, because logically changes will have to be made to be adapted in an audio-visual product such as a series that is divided into episodes and seasons. That's why due to the success of this first series it was logical that more would be made, but because the characters of the first story had already concluded their story arc, it was time to look for another protagonist, that's why the chosen one was: Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor Belmont, the former protagonist of the first series. I really don't know exactly how many years have passed since the end of the first series to the beginning of this new one, which is called "Castlevania: Nocturne", but I can estimate that at least 300 years have passed since that end. So yes, although there are some logical and small references to the characters of the first series, by mere logic we won't see the old protagonists... or maybe we will?

   

   Well I think it is not much of a spoiler to say that in this new series will appear the only one of the main characters that it is logical that it does and it is none other than Alucard, being the only one who can survive for many years to be directly a vampire, son of Dracula himself, which in this new series was nothing more than a myth. I really did not expect Alucard to appear in this first season, but it was a pleasant surprise to see again one of the best characters of not only the old series, but also one of the best characters of the entire Castlevania franchise.

   

   
   

   This time the villain won't be Dracula and it wouldn't make sense for him to be, since somehow he was able to redeem himself for his actions at the end of the first series. So this time the main villain to be defeated will be a very old vampire who proclaims herself a "goddess", capable of creating a solar eclipse so that all vampires who are under her command, can cause chaos and destruction without any problem. Really this new villain from the beginning looked too powerful for the protagonists of this series and even more so when she showed part of her power in the final episode of this first season, so it was of great importance that the protagonists had some way to defeat her or get a new ally to help them in the coming war, which was Alucard himself, appearing ultimately in one of the most epic appearances of the series.

   

   
   

   Regarding the art, Castlevania: Nocturne maintains much of the quality in terms of art and animation seen in the old series, in fact, there are scenarios that are so beautiful that seem to be made with oil paintings. The action sequences are spectacular, much dynamism, colors and dynamics, is the best of this series and a great improvement with what was seen in the old series, demonstrating greater quality especially in the last episode of this first season. As in the first series, it is not necessary to play any of the games of this franchise to enjoy this series, since in terms of plot it is quite simple, but not boring.    La primera serie de Castlevania es sin ningún tipo de dudas una de las mejores adaptaciones de un videojuegos que se ha hecho. Con cuatro temporadas la serie Castlevania pudo demostrar que las adaptaciones de videojuegos no es algo imposible, siempre y cuando los creadores respeten al producto original y al decir esto no digo que es necesario que la adaptación sea un calco exacto a los hechos ocurridos en los videojuego, porque lógicamente habrán que hacer cambios para ser adaptados en un producto audio-visual como lo es una serie que se divide por episodios y temporadas. Es por eso que debido al éxito que tuvo esta primera serie era lógico que se harían mas, pero debido a que los personajes de la primera historia ya habían concluido con su arco argumental, era tiempo que buscar a otro protagonista, es por eso que el elegido fue: Richter Belmont, un descendiente de Trevor Belmont, el antiguo protagonista de la primera serie. Realmente no sé exactamente cuántos años han pasado desde el final de la primera serie al inicio de esta nueva, la cual tiene por nombre “Castlevania: Nocturne”, pero puedo calcular que al menos al pasado 300 años desde aquel final. Por lo que sí, aunque hay algunas lógicas y pequeñas referencias a los personajes de la primera serie, por mera lógica no veremos a los antiguos protagonistas… ¿o quizás sí?

   

   Bueno creo que no es mucho spoiler decir que en esta nueva serie aparecerá el único de los protagonistas que tiene lógica que si lo haga y no es mas quien Alucard, siendo este el único que puede sobrevivir durante por muchos años al ser directamente un vampiro, hijo del mismísimo Drácula, el cual en esta nueva serie no era más que un mito. Realmente no esperaba que Alucard apareciese en esta primera temporada, pero fue una grata sorpresa volver a ver a uno de los mejores personajes de no solo la serie antigua, sino que también es uno de los mejores personajes de toda la franquicia de Castlevania.

   

   
   

   Esta vez el villano no será Drácula y no tendría sentido que lo fuese, ya que de alguna forma en pudo redimirse de sus actos al final de la primera serie. Por lo que esta vez la villana principal a vencer será una muy antigua vampiresa la cual se autoproclama por sí misma una “diosa”, capaz de crear un eclipse solar para que a si todos los vampiros que están bajo su mando, puedan causar caos y destrucción sin ningún problema. Realmente esta nueva villana desde un inicio se veía demasiado poderosa para los protagonistas de esta serie y más aún cuando demostró parte de su poder en el episodio final de esta primera temporada, por lo que era de gran importancia que los protagonistas tuvieran alguna forma de poder derrotarla o conseguir algún nuevo aliado que los ayudara en la guerra que se aproxima, el cual fue el propio Alucard, apareciendo en última instancia, en unas de las apariciones más épicas de la serie.

   

   
   

   Con respecto al arte, Castlevania: Nocturne mantiene mucho la calidad en términos de arte y animación vista en la antigua serie, de hecho, hay escenarios que son tan hermosos que parecen hechos con pinturas al óleo. Las secuencias de acción son espectaculares, mucho dinamismo, colores y dinámicas, es de lo mejor de esta serie y una gran mejorada con lo visto en la antigua serie, demostrando mayor calidad especialmente en el último episodio de esta primera temporada. Al igual que en la primera serie, no hace falta jugar a ninguno de los juegos de esta franquicia para poder disfrutar esta serie, ya que en términos argumental es bastante sencilla, pero no por eso aburrida. Por suerte ya se ha confirmado una segunda temporada, la cual aún no estoy seguro para cuando se estrenará, sin embargo la espero con muchas ganas.

   300 years passed after Trevor, Sypha and Alucard put an end to the threat started by Dracula once his wife Lisa Tepes was killed by the priests of the Church. That gap in time shows us a different picture in this new series of one of the most spectacular franchises of video games such as Castlevania.

   For now we do not know what happened in those 300 years for humanity to be enslaved by vampires, we can not see the world created by Isaac after his revolution, nor what influenced the freedom of Hector the master forger, much less can we know about the direct descendant of Trevor Belmont, are things that remain in the air and in the mind of the viewer because at the beginning this series does not show any parallelism with its predecessor, however it is not entirely so because at the end of the first season we begin to see glimpses of the past and more when one of my favorite characters appears in the last chapter.

   If you saw the first Castlevania series, possibly the same thing happened to you as it did to me when watching this one, the first six chapters were heavy and hard to swallow, I confess that I didn't feel like continuing, not because of the characters or the plot itself, but because of how insipid it was, But when we get to the sixth episode, things begin to change, Juste Belmont appears as an old man and has a meaningful conversation with his grandson Ritchter Belmont who ultimately should be the most powerful of the Belmont, although these series are not 100% faithful to the history of the video games, they have important details and connections.

   300 años pasaron luego de que Trevor, Sypha y Alucard pusieran fin a la amenaza comenzada por Drácula una vez que su esposa Lisa Tepes fuera asesinada a mano de los sacerdotes de la Iglesia. Ese vacío en el tiempo nos muestra un panorama diferente en esta nueva serie de una de las franquicias más espectaculares de los videojuegos como lo es Castlevania.

   Por ahora no sabemos que sucedieron en esos 300 años para que la humanidad fuera esclavizada por los vampiros, no se puede ver el mundo creado por Isaac luego de su revolución, ni en que influyo la libertad de Héctor el maestro forjador, ni mucho menos podemos saber acerca del descendiente directo de Trevor Belmont, son cosas que quedan en el aire y en la mente del espectador porque de inicio esta serie no muestra ningún paralelismo con su antecesora, sin embargo no es del todo así pues al final de la primera temporada se comienzan a ver destellos del pasado y más cuando aparece uno de mis personajes favoritos en el último capítulo.

   Si viste la primera serie de Castlevania posiblemente te pueda haber pasado lo mismo que a mí al ver esta, los primeros seis capítulos pesados y difíciles de tragar, confieso que no me daban ganas de seguir, no por los personajes ni la trama en sí, sino por lo insípido de la misma, pero cuando llegamos a ese sexto episodio las cosas comienzan a cambiar, aparece Juste Belmont ya viejo y tiene una conversación significativa con su nieto Ritchter Belmont quien a la postre debería ser el más poderoso de los Belmont, aunque estas series no son 100 % fieles a la historia de los video juegos tienen detalles y conexiones importantes.

   The setting is very similar to the first series, the animation and character design are excellent, the female empowerment has a lot of weight in the story on both sides, the villain is a woman and another of the main characters is also a woman with a lot of guts and heroism. Annette is her name, a slave who fights for freedom and equality between humans and vampires, devoted to the African gods and a user with magical powers if you can call it that to control the earth and metal.

   Ahora bien, volviendo al punto de los primeros y únicos 8 capítulos hasta el momento, podemos ver a un Ritchter Belmont inmaduro que no usa bien el látigo y tampoco recuerda cómo usar la magia, pero que asombrosamente ama su legado como un Belmont, para el matar vampiros es su oficio y está totalmente entregado a ello. En el fondo sufre debido a que presencio la muerte de su madre a manos de un vampiro cuando tenía 10 años, y una vez lo vuelve a ver deja a sus amigos en medio de una batalla sin importarle sus vidas, fue tanto su temor que solo pensó en escapar.

   La ambientación muy similar a la primera serie, la animación y diseño de personajes excelentes, el empoderamiento femenino con mucho peso en lo que va de historia por ambas partes, la villana es una mujer y otro de los personajes principales también es una mujer con muchas agallas y heroísmo. Annette es su nombre, una esclava que lucha por la libertad e igualdad entre humanos y vampiros, devota a los dioses africanos y una usuaria con poderes mágicos si se le puede llamar así para controlar la tierra y el metal.

   Maria Renard also makes an appearance in the story, although she is very young and has no idea where her amazing powers come from, we can already see that her participation in the rest of the story will be very interesting. This is the panorama that is presented to us in this first installment of Castlevania Nocturne, which in my opinion left much to be desired in its first episodes but then was improving to complete a good prelude to what is to come in the second season.

   I definitely expect something good for the remaining story, there is a lot of material in the franchise to create an excellent plot, maybe not reach the level of its predecessor but it will surely end well. In the second season I expect a more mature Ritchter and also that things from the past are revealed to understand once and for all why the events in this series, I think that if they are not clarified there will be an unpleasant void, because let's be honest, we all want to know what happened after the events of Castlevania, at least in the next 100 years, how humanity developed and what became of Trevor and Sypha, if they died of old age or in battle, there are many things to know, it's not just a 300 year jump and leave us blank, we must understand the connection of one story with the other, only then we will have a full understanding because "Nocturne" is a direct sequel and not an alternate history.

   Finally and to conclude, I keep my expectations, as I finish should start the second season and make a significant leap both in the story and in the development of the characters.

   En la historia también hace acto de presencia María Renard, aunque es muy jovencita y no tiene idea de donde vienen sus asombrosos poderes, ya podemos ver que su participación en el resto de la historia será muy interesante. Este es el panorama que se nos presenta en esta primera entrega de Castlevania Nocturne, que a mi juicio dejo mucho que desear en sus primeros episodios pero después fue mejorando hasta completar un buen preludio para lo que se vendrá en la segunda temporada.

   Definitivamente espero algo bueno para la historia restante, hay mucho material en la franquicia para crear una excelente trama, quizás no llegue al nivel de su antecesora pero seguramente terminara bien. En la segunda temporada espero a un Ritchter más maduro y también que se revelen cosas del pasado para entender de una vez por todas el porqué de los acontecimientos en esta serie, pienso que si no se aclaran quedara un vacío desagradable, porque seamos honestos, todos queremos saber que ocurrió luego de los acontecimientos de Castlevania, por lo menos en los siguientes 100 años, como se desarrolló la humanidad y que fue de Trevor y Sypha, si murieron de viejos o lo hicieron en batalla, hay muchas cosas por saber, no es solo dar una salto de 300 años y dejarnos en blanco, hay que entender la conexión de una historia con la otra, solo así tendremos un entendimiento pleno pues “Nocturne” es una secuela directa y no una historia alterna.

   Por último y para concluir, mantengo mis expectativas, como termino debería comenzar la segunda temporada y dar un salto importante tanto en la historia como en el desarrollo de los personajes.

   Hoy en día, en pleno 2023, todavía hay personas que consideran que todo lo que sea animado es para niños o es infantil, que no merece la pena perder el tiempo viendo "comiquitas", pasa con los anime y con las películas y series animadas. No es posible que estén más equivocados pero allá ellos. Habiendo dicho esto el día de hoy vengo con uno de esos clásicos que ha llegado a Netflix con un nuevo titulo, nuevos personajes pero con el mismo trasfondo. Castlevania no es algo nuevo, es un videojuego de por allá de finales de los ochenta y que hasta el sol de hoy tiene más de 30 títulos, de ahí el gran numero de fanáticos que tiene. Pero lo bueno de estas historias es que precisamente están hechas para aquellos que no estén familiarizados con estos personajes.

Acá encontrarán sangre, violencia, mutilaciones, muerte de todo tipo pero también hay amor y mucho drama porque cada personaje tiene su propia batalla interna que hace que la historia sea mucho más creíble y profunda. Se los repito, esto no es una comiquita de Cartoon Network, esto es una serie muy bien trabajada con una animación espectacular. Así que sin más, vayamos y hablemos de lo que es esta nueva historia dentro del universo de los Belmont.

   Esta nuevo capitulo da inicio unos cuantos siglos después de la historia original de Castlevania, serie que también está en Netflix y que consta de 4 temporadas. Acá tenemos a Ritcher Belmont, el último descendiente de esta familia cazadora de vampiros en una nueva aventura en donde tal parece que la humanidad sigue en peligro asediada por estas criaturas de la noche. Nos encontramos en Francia en 1792, en plena revolución francesa, revolución que está en peligro ya que la gente de poder, dinero y posición no quiere que esta se de y para eso tuvieron que hacer un pacto no con el diablo pero casi. Y es que existe el rumor de que un vampiro llamado el Mesías, algo irónico la verdad, llegará para acabar con esta revolución y "liberar" a la humanidad.

Ellos tendrán evitar que los vampiros logren su cometido siendo uno de ellos tapar el sol completamente para que sobre la Tierra reine la oscuridad perpetua. La verdad es una serie que, seas fanático o no, te va a atrapar desde el primer capitulo, no hace falta que hayas visto algo anteriormente, aunque yo te lo recomiendo, pero que si no es así no pasa nada porque la historia es muy disfrutable.

   Lo primero que quiero destacar es la animación, es lo mejor de la serie. Cuando comienzo a ver una serie animada o film lo primero que suelo ver es esto porque es lo que me dirá si lo que voy a ver es de calidad o no. Como saberlo? - pues bueno, que básicamente todo sea lo más realista posible, que los personajes estén bien hechos, que las personas parezcan personas y que todo lo demás sea fiel a su naturaleza. También es importante todo lo referente a los movimientos, en una serie como esta en donde lo que predomina son las peleas y que todo sea sangriento tiene que ser muy vistoso pero entendible y fluido. Y por último pero no menos importante vendría siendo la expresión de emociones, la capacidad de trasmitir a pesar de que sea animado todo; todo esto Castlevania lo cumple bien.

   La historia en si también está buena, es una adaptación del videojuego con ligeros cambios, pero igual es una que llega y atrapa. Tiene elementos como la política, la religión, el amor en sus diferentes formas y sobre todo la venganza, esto último es uno de los grandes motores. Me gustó el contexto de Anette, es una esclava que viene de este lado del mundo en donde tuvo un pasado difícil y gracias a sus raíces africanas es como conoció la santería. Me pareció super interesante todo lo que la rodea a ella, le da otro toque a la historia, uno más místico de lo que originalmente es. Verán muchos conflictos familiares y problemas sin resolver que en cierta medida son la mecha que enciende todo lo que a lo largo de los ocho capítulos sucede.

   Muy personalmente disfruté mucho la serie, de hecho me la vi en un día porque al ser episodios de poco menos de media hora facilita que sea vista rápidamente. En cuanto a los personajes decir que me gustaron casi todos. Los actores de doblaje acá con vitales porque son los encargados de darle vida a cada uno, de lograr transmitir mediante la voz lo que realmente está padeciendo el personaje; créanme que si el actor no hace bien el trabajo puede dañar mucho toda la experiencia. Por ejemplo, hay un personaje que canta opera, este lo hace de una manera tan melancólica y tan sentida que cuando lo ves en la situación en la que se encuentra rápidamente vas a sentir empatía, va a ser algo automático.

   I personally enjoyed the series a lot, in fact I watched it in one day because the episodes are less than half an hour long, making it easy to watch quickly. As for the characters, I liked almost all of them. The dubbing actors are vital here because they are in charge of giving life to each one, of transmitting through their voices what the character is really going through; believe me, if the actor doesn't do a good job, it can damage the whole experience. For example, there is a character who sings opera, he does it in such a melancholic and heartfelt way that when you see him in the situation he is in, you will quickly feel empathy, it will be automatic.

   La serie y los personajes va un poco de superar traumas del pasado. Como dije, cada uno tiene su cruz encima y a lo largo de la serie veremos como usan esos sentimientos como combustible para ir superando obstáculos, tanto físicos como personales. Pasa con Ritcher quien sufrió una perdida importante, con Anette por el tema de su pasado y de María que se enterará de algo que descolocará todas sus creencias y los sentimientos que en algún momento pudo sentir. Se los digo, es una historia muy profunda con muchos matices que la hacen increíble de ver. A todo eso súmenle la cantidad de vampiros muertos de todas las formas inimaginables y el resultado final es una gran serie animada, como pocas.

   The series and the characters are a bit about overcoming past traumas. As I said, each one has their cross to bear and throughout the series we will see how they use those feelings as fuel to overcome obstacles, both physical and personal. It happens with Ritcher who suffered an important loss, with Anette because of her past and with Maria who will find out something that will unsettle all her beliefs and the feelings she may have felt at some point. I tell you, it is a very deep story with many nuances that make it incredible to watch. Add to all of that the amount of vampires killed in all sorts of unimaginable ways and the end result is a great animated series, like few others.

   Le doy un 8.5/10. Me gusta Castlevania, siempre ha sido así, pero con estas series más todavía. Lo tienen todo como han podido leer y es por eso que se las recomiendo mucho, sean fanáticos o no. Les aseguro que la van a disfrutar mucho. Sáquense el chip de que por ser animada es algo infantil y terminaran viendo una gran historia. Ocho capítulos y la tienen en Netflix. Les dejo el tráiler.

They have it all as you have been able to read and that is why I highly recommend them to you, whether you are a fan or not. I assure you that you will enjoy it a lot. Get rid of the chip that because it is animated it is something childish and you will end up watching a great story. Eight chapters and you have it on Netflix. Here is the trailer.
