Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate (Review) [ESP-ENG]95@edwardstobia32d5 views
Hola amigos || Hello friends
A few days ago, we sat down to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, another film that has left its mark on our lives and will stay with us forever. I think we can all agree that this is one of the most iconic children’s films of all time, and it’s hard not to be hooked on it from the very first time you watch it. What prompted me to write about this film is that, no matter how many years go by or how many times you’ve seen it, it’s a film we can continue to enjoy from start to finish without a hint of boredom.
What makes this film retain its magic is the combination of its unrivalled aesthetic and that timeless story. Or at least, this is my humble opinion regarding the film’s magic quite apart, of course, from the superb performances by Johnny Depp (Willy Wonka) and Freddie Highmore (Charlie Bucket) as the boy who was lucky enough to win one of the golden tickets granting him access to the largest and most mysterious chocolate factory in his town, which also produced the most delicious chocolates in the world.
This film tends to draw you in straight away because, on the one hand, we have the reality of Charlie’s humble home and family, where we learn that, despite their poverty, love reigns in their home. On the other hand, there’s Willy’s factory, which, as you pass through those huge doors, presents a riot of colours, imagination and fantasy that captivates any child or, in my case, a child at heart, ha ha ha… It’s a visual journey that never loses its appeal and continues to amaze just as much as it did on the very first day.
It may seem an exaggeration to many who regard it as an icon of children’s cinema, but characters such as Willy Wonka, with his extravagant and unforgettable personality, combined with Charlie’s natural charm and the Loompas’ amusing antics, created a formula that has become ingrained in popular culture. With a fairly clear metaphor, the film leaves us with more than just delicious sweets and laughter; it leaves us with a very clear message about humility, respect and the importance of family in the face of selfishness. It is one of those well-rounded stories that not only entertains children, but also offers us a sense of nostalgia and comfort whenever we come across it on the telly or, as in my case, when I wanted to watch it again.
I imagine many of you have already seen it, so, well, as always, this is just my opinion. I invite you to share yours.
A bordo de la nave
me despido, mi querida familia.

ENGLISH VERSION
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Hello community, this is the first movie where I got to know the actor Johnny Depp and one of my favorites. Although I believe there are three versions, this is the one I like the most.
Go grab some chocolates and let's start watching it hehe.
🎬 A bit of context
It all starts with 5 golden tickets, which will allow 5 children from different parts of the world to visit the chocolate factory and meet the owner, Willy Wonka.
This causes a frenzy not only among children but also among all people, so the first tickets are found in different countries, within Wonka products. They find the 4 tickets, but the fifth one doesn't appear, until a boy named Charlie, after trying several times, manages to find it.
From here begins the great adventure where, for the first time in a long time, five children, with their guardians, will be able to tour the factory and try all the sweets and chocolates they desire.
Already in the factory, the children enter and meet Willy Wonka, the inventor who tells them that this will be like a competition and whoever wins will take home a big surprise. So each child starts doing their own thing to get Willy's attention and earn points for the final prize.
But each child had some weakness that caused them to leave the competition: being gluttonous, being very spoiled, being disobedient, and being arrogant. Not only did they leave without receiving any gifts, but they also faced a punishment that, in its own way, was fitting for their behavior.
The only one who made it to the end was Charlie, a humble boy who seemed very kind and respectful, so without thinking, Willy offered him his factory to run, with the only condition that the boy would leave his family and move out on his own.
Do you think he did it? It could be that any child in his place would have done it, because he would be able to eat and enjoy those wonderful sweets for life, but will Charlie accept or let this opportunity pass?
If you want to know what happened, come back tomorrow to find out hehe just kidding, you should watch it right now if you haven't already, and if you have, then keep reading.
⚠ ALERT: From here on out, it's all spoilers, you've been warned.
TRAILER:
♥ What I liked the most
This is a movie that I always enjoyed watching, not just because of the main actor but also for the creativity they put into making the chocolate factory.
You won't tell me that you weren't tempted to try at least a little bit of that chocolate river, or the candy trees, or the famous lunch gum.
I always imagined being able to try that gum, first we start with a tomato soup, then some meats, and finally the blackberry dessert. Can you imagine what a delight... to have all that in just a few chews haha.
Now, another scene that I like is where a big chocolate bar travels through particles to then become a normal bar that you can take out of the television. That's an idea that still seems brilliant to me, I hope it can be done someday haha.
Something very touching and sad at the same time is seeing that Charlie's grandparents had to share a bed because they were very poor, but they always gave him very good advice, like taking the opportunity to go to the factory, even though the boy thought about selling the ticket to help his family financially.
There are also the choreographies and songs of the little factory helpers, some of which I found super fun, and they always referenced each child's situations.
A very impressive device was seeing the elevator that could move in any direction, up, down, left, right, making it easier for them to visit all the places inside the factory.
I think those are the things I liked the most and caught my attention, I really liked the scenery and the different places inside the factory.
💭 Some parts that made me think
Now, if we analyze this movie a bit more, we can see that each child had a serious problem that I believe was partly due to their parents.
There was the man who spoiled his daughter, giving her everything she asked for. But with the experience they went through, I think he also learned to be stricter with his daughter and educate her better.
Then there was the woman who lived her dreams through her daughter, forcing her to compete in different sports, and I feel that it reflected on her, and obviously, she didn't want her daughter to go through what she experienced, or at least that's what I think.
There is also the boy who couldn't stop eating; basically, his mom did nothing about it, knowing that it could jeopardize his health. I think he actually encouraged him to do it.
And finally, the father of the TV boy, who, although he tried to scold him whenever he could, didn't do it correctly; it seemed more like a suggestion than an order, haha.
But, if we talk about Charlie, he seemed to have been created to be a hardworking, kind, supportive, and respectful child. The most interesting thing was that he had decided to reject his prize because his family was the most important thing to him.
We can also see that Willy Wonka was a character who had left his home at a very young age to pursue his dreams. Despite having a very strict father, we eventually discover that he still held memories of him and continued to have feelings for his son, which he could see when he visited him after a long time in his dental office.
That's why he said that having a family was a waste of time, because it doesn't allow you to grow, to follow your dreams, it's something harmful. But thanks to Charlie, he was able to realize that it wasn't like that; they may tell us what to do and what not to do, but it's for our own good.
I have read in many social media posts that each child represents a deadly sin, I don't know how true this is, but we can see several similarities, gluttony, envy, among the most notable. It is interesting to be able to analyze a simple movie like this and find so many teachings and hidden things.
Well, with this I conclude, and I would like you to leave in the comments what your favorite scene was and which sweet you would like to try.
See you in the next post.

›CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (2005) | REVIEW 🎬90@neotopher90d5 views
Surely you have dreamed at some point of finding a golden ticket in a chocolate bar and having the chance to visit the factory of the best chocolatier in the world.
Directed by Tim Burton, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (2005) is a film that to this day still divides opinions about the now classic story of Charlie Bucket, a very poor boy who wins one of five golden tickets to visit the mysterious and magical factory of the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka, along with four other children.
Before knowing the classic movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" I watched this remake many times during my childhood before realizing it was a remake. Later, by chance, I saw the original film on TV and couldn't help but make comparisons.
Unlike the 1971 adaptation "Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory" starring Gene Wilder, Burton created a vision much more faithful to the work written by British author Roald Dahl and published in 1964. It is quite a technical feat to adapt the aesthetic fidelity, something not all directors manage to do.
Certainly, this version improved the aesthetic aspects thanks to Tim Burton and his peculiar creative vision that brings to life a strange and fantastic place. Wonka’s factory is amazing because it is a fantasy world where everything is possible within its walls.
Visually speaking, the film is a spectacle in many ways; it evokes sensations like the desire to eat chocolate. Burton built an astonishing world he seems to know well, which can be seen in the design of the impoverished home of the Bucket family, as it is similar yet very different in color contrast.
The production design is at a very impressive level, and I would say the funniest and most interesting thing to watch in this version are the Oompa-Loompas (played by Deep Roy), who are like background characters that steal the show, thanks also to Danny Elfman’s soundtrack.
I suppose this is the closest to the chocolate factory that Dahl always imagined, where the punishment of spoiled children is executed spectacularly.
The biggest point of interest and debate will always be Johnny Depp’s Willy Wonka, who is constantly compared to the previous version from 1971. Seeing the eccentric chocolatier as a deeply misfit man-child, averse to human contact, made me feel very identified.
It is not my intention to write a post comparing both films; I want to share my opinion of this version, and I like that they gave Wonka a backstory. While Wilder’s Wonka was an unpredictable gentleman, Depp’s has traumas that make him an endearing human being: that’s why I consider it his best version. And having Johnny Depp portray him is a bold acting choice. Likewise, the rest of the supporting child cast is phenomenal.
Music is an important element that differentiates both versions. I cannot give many plot details to avoid spoilers, but you should know that at some points in the film the Oompa-Loompas improvise a song: this also happens in the original movie, but the remake does it much better; instead of singing the same song repeatedly in different sequences, in this version each song is different and a visual spectacle that is appreciated. (Although the original film is a musical, it uses more theatrical music in pure Broadway style.)
The inclusion of an origin story for Wonka seems like a good decision to me. I understand that this plot is completely absent in the novel, but I think it’s a good addition to the story.
"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" has already become a classic in Tim Burton’s cinema. It is a dazzling, dark, and extremely entertaining film, with that human warmth favoring the strange. It is a treat that delights both by its packaging and its sweet flavor.

Hello, cinema fans . The Tim Burton special isn't over yet, and this time I'm here to talk about one of the biggest and most acclaimed hits of his entire film career. That's right, I'm talking about an adaptation that became a major benchmark in both the film industry and popular culture.
