  1. GYEONGSEONG CREATURE…@quduus1625d

I was a bit skeptical about watching this particular series when I stumbled upon it on Netflix last week, prior to that week i had seen it come up a couple of times in the past few weeks but then i was not really interested in it as i was seeing a much more interesting series at that moment. I was actively watching THE HEIRS back then when i saw it come up…

The next time it came up again on the list of top watched movies on Netflix, i decided to check it out but not with the intention of watching it at all, i just wanted to read what the series was all about and if by chance i decide to watch it will it be interesting and worth it…

The title itself was a big turn off upon seeing it, still yet I decided to check it out as it was drawing my attention nonstop. I eventually checked the brief description of the movie and realized it was a series about creepy creatures, monsters and the supernatural abilities…

*I was forced to watch the teaser before deciding to either watch it or not, I watched the teaser and the supernatural abilities shown were mind blowing, they were exactly my type of thing, i loved the movie immediately i saw the teaser and without wasting time I abandoned the series i was watching before and jumped on it, and boom that was how I started watching ”GYEONGSEONG CREATURE”…*

    GYEONGSEONG CREATURE…

This particular series has two seasons with seventeen episodes to watch in total, the first season has 10 episodes with over 60 minutes in each episode of the series and the second season has just 7 episodes with over 45 minutes in each episode…

Park Seo-jun and Han So-hee star in this wonderful series as Jang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok. Jang Tae-sang was a nobody, his parents were a freedom fighter who fought against the Japanese government who has forcefully come to claim their country and make their own people slaves. The Japanese governments didn’t only come to take over their country, they came with a much greater intention, which was to use most of their people as a test subject to build up an army to fight their war against other countries…

They planned on making something extraordinary and extremely powerful to help them fight their war. Jang Tae-san became the richest man in his country after working extremely hard as a child, he became the owner of the biggest pawnshop in Joseon, he also runs some shady businesses just to SURVIVE and to fight for as long as he can…

Yoon Chae-ok was a sleuth who came from Manchuria with her father to Joseon just to find her missing mother and her fathers missing wife, she was held captive by the Japanese military for 10 years to be used as a test subject for their experiment…

Watch how Jang Tae-san and Yoon Chae-ok paths crossed, what befell them and how the series ended. Did they manage to gain their freedom? Did they lose the battle against the Japanese? Did she find her mother? What happened to both Tae-san and Chae-ok?. Find out more about it yourself….

This movie was just too good, a lot of suspense and unexpected events happened in the last episode of the first season. I was left feeling curious after every successful episode, it was just too dope…

I would rate this particular series 8/10, everything was good but then I felt like they should have added some beautiful scenes at the end, but then it was good…

In conclusion, i am a fan of Park Seo-jun and Han So-hee, i love the male lead character more and i have seen a couple of his kdramas in the past, i think this particular series is worth watching, so i am recommending this series to you all…

NB; the above images are screenshots taken from the Netflix app…

         THANKS FOR READING…

    ENGLISH VERSION

    Review: Gyeongseong Creature

With just a few days to go until the premiere of the second season I have finished watching the first season of Gyeongseong Creature. By way of prelude I must say that I have come to this series on the recommendation of my dear friend @Maryed who I must blame for introducing me to the world of K-Drama which I have never paid much attention to. Without further ado let's go with the review of this series, and rest assured there will be no spoilers and as I usually do in my reviews, I will try to outline some reflection in a philosophical tone inspired by the series.

I think it is only fair to start the review with a synopsis of sorts, trying to give some context to the opinions that have come out and that I have endeavored to produce a synopsis that is sufficiently debelling to invite you to watch the series, but, without compromising the plot too much.

    image.png

    [Source](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/filmimages.php?movie_id=675217)

    Synopsis

In its first season of 10 episodes, Gyeongseong Creature sets the events in times of World War II, I think to be specific, we are talking about the year 1945, a really dark time for Korea, because, it dates back to the time of the Japanese occupation in Korea. Well, in a certain place in the city, terrifying experiments have been carried out, around that situation Jang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok meet and they start a harrowing adventure full of dangers as they go deeper and deeper into the mysteries.

    Opinion:

I must say that the series caught me, perhaps for many it is not the best series of the genre and I think that in part there are some things with respect to the script that could have been developed a little better, in some things I perceived them rushed and others a little slow. At times, the thriller turned into a romantic comedy, and although it is not something I dislike, I found it an entertaining resource that did not make the production something monotonous.

I really enjoyed its intro, it generates a tense atmosphere and full of mystery, I am one of those people who do not see more than twice the intros, in this series I saw it in each chapter, I really enjoyed it.

The story has an interesting development, the main characters have an interesting development, and with respect to the performances I found them neat and well done, or so it seems to me. The setting of the time seemed to me something very well achieved, and that is something that is deeply appreciated, and makes us imagine the life of Korea in the middle of the Second World War.

As I mentioned at the beginning, the second season is coming soon, if I'm not mistaken it will be released on September 27th on the Netflix platform, so I should not wait too long to continue with the story that particularly has ended in a way that has left me totally baffled. Although there are things that as always in the series can be moderately predictable, there are others that are not, for example, the end of this first season I did not see coming, I was dumbfounded and intrigued to know what comes next. Although I will try to go in with little or zero expectations, I hope they have improved the things that were perhaps a bit deficient.

    [Source](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/filmimages.php?movie_id=675217)

    A philosophical reflection:

The series has many things that are interesting and worthy of reflections, but I am left with a simple idea, but it is powerful. At some point in the series there is a conversation about the idea of betrayal and that somehow no one is exempt from being betrayed, which throws up the idea of social necessity in which there should not be a world in which situations that promote betrayal should be propitiated. I think this is a powerful idea, because it refers to people's values, but values have always responded and continue to respond to a certain environment. We have not succeeded and I do not think we will succeed in universalizing values.

So much for the brief philosophical look, I hope I have not been tedious and that this review has been interesting enough so that if you have not seen the series you will be motivated to watch it and if you have already seen it, leave me in the comments your opinion.

  3. K-Project Gyeongseong Creature (2023) [ENG/ESP]@yaslenysofia718d

    ENGLISH

    ---

    elmonstruodelaeng.gif

Human beings, throughout history, have committed reprehensible acts and are stripped within moral justice in many ways; this makes you question whether the people who perpetrate such actions against others are really human. The k-drama I will be talking about is called "The Monster of Old Seoul", a series that makes you reflect many things about human nature and whether it is really the one who looks like a monster or the one who acts like a monster that is more of a monster.

    K-Project Gyeongseong Creature (경성크리처, McCune-Reischauer: Gyeongseongkeuricheo)…
    ---
A production that mixes fictional stories with historical dyes, released for the year 2023 under the direction of Jung Dong-yoon, of genre Suspense, Period Drama and Horror; starring Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee.

    ***Synopsis…***
    ---
A story that takes us back to 1945, where what is now known as the capital of South Korea, Seoul, bore the name Gyeongseong. A period in which the Japanese domination reigned in these territories, making human experiments and committing brutal acts against the locals.

It is from here that the whole plot unfolds, and how Jang Tae-sang, a businessman who has no sense of justice, and Yoon Chae-ok, a detective who, together with her father, is in charge of searching for missing persons, become involved in a series of conflicts, framed in the survival of a terrible human creation, a creature born from the greed of man, who seeks to be superior to God and have dominion over everything he touches.

Will our protagonists manage to survive this creature? What secrets will be hidden in the face of the monster's identity?

    Personal opinion…
    ---
It is no secret that the Japanese Imperial Army committed cruel acts during the Second World War, crimes hidden under the premise of the good of science and of humanity as a whole. Among these experiments was the practice of vivisection on men, women and children of different ages.

To briefly explain vivisection, it is basically dissection without anesthesia, while the subject is alive.

So this drama is a perfect mix between fiction and real facts, bringing us those dark events in fantastical and well done scenographies, which somehow manage to catch you. It may seem a bit slow at the beginning, but give it a chance, it becomes more and more intriguing.

It is a perfect mix between suspense, horror, science fiction and romance, where we get to see a very well achieved balance for each genre. It is not for a general public, because the title may not be what they expect, however, in my opinion, it has a double meaning, maybe in this story we have a monster itself, but when it comes down to it, who is more of a monster: that mutated being or those men who, for their ambitions and under the pretext of the advancement of science, tortured and experimented with innocent beings?

They definitely show us little truths that humanity has tried to overlook, transcending into the true deep meaning of what it is to be human, leaving you with nerves in every scene and, enveloping you in enigmas, even in the end of the series.

    Positive points…
    ---
The chemistry between the protagonists and the interpretation between the characters add a touch to this story with dark and really applaudable tones. In addition to the good production in which they develop with attractive scenographic and photographic designs and, in particular, the monster is well presented.

    Opera Instantánea_2024-07-13_175750_www.imdb.com.png Source

    Negative points…
    ---
At the beginning it is a little slow and with low action.

¿Nuestros protagonistas lograran sobrevivir a esa criatura?

    Opera Instantánea_2024-07-13_175750_www.imdb.com.png Fuente

    Puntos negativos…
    ---

    Opera Instantánea_2024-07-13_175836_www.imdb.com.png Fuente

    Puntaje que le doy…
    ---
    10/10 Historia │ 10/10 Actuaciones │ 9/10 Sonido │ 10/10 Escenario │ 10/10 General
