Hello friends of the Movies & TV community, today I want to share with you the review of a movie that I wanted to see for a long time but I was not convinced until I saw small fragments on the internet with phrases that captivated me coming from the protagonist.

Into The Wild is an American film directed by Sean Penn and starring Emile Hirsch based on Jon Krakauer's autobiography about the life of Christopher McCandless. It tells the story of Christopher McCandless, a young man who after graduating with honors from college gives away his savings, gets rid of his belongings and takes a journey through the Alaskan wilderness.

Christopher has many reasons why he makes this decision, despite having graduated and having a family that appears to be perfect but which is not, the memories of his childhood and his rebellious way of seeing life make him set out on a lonely path but full of many experiences where he will face difficult situations and meet incredible people who will help him continue on his way to reach his destination.

The passion that Into The Wild awakens arises solely from the same innate desire for cinema to take us on a journey, lift our spirits and inspire us to reflect on our own life and existence in a profound and very valuable way through this story.

The path to find one's own light instead of depending on others, the need to affirm ourselves as free willed human beings, the need to recover the freedom that has been given to us since birth, from the nature we drink from every day, and the great oblivion of time in its purest form, all of them present in this film. It also has a perfect aesthetic with images captured at the right time emphasizing all the essential parts of the story and the way of seeing the life of our character, a tailor-made script with a protagonist free of mind and conscience, a spirit of optimism within a society that takes everything.

One could argue that this is an ode to life, and there is no doubt that this film comes very close to reiterating the importance of presence in its most basic form. What it suggests to us is to seek our own path, free of fads, nonsense, ups and downs. And in this story we see something of Nietzsche's philosophy. It suggests a return to the natural-animal world, which has been forgotten particularly in Modernity.

It takes a superman, played by Alexander Supertramp in this film, with whom we will feel identified and who will discover all the subtle truths of finding his own path of light and faith to rediscover the purpose of his own life. In this film, the death of God is represented by the death of parents and capitalism.

"Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth because they don't want their illusions destroyed." For the right to be oneself, however, "no price is too high." "To grow strong, you must first sink your roots into nothingness, learn to face the loneliest solitude and be willing to burn with your own flame."

To do this, Christopher or now known by his made-up name "Alex" plans to travel the U.S. with a specific destination in mind: Alaska. Tolstoy, Jack London and Thoreau are some of the authors that inspire Alex and their works are certainly pertinent. Along with Nietzsche and Marx, these great authors, all with a strong sense of ethics and nature, represent the best thinking of the time and open the door for us to question reality and make new sense of things.

(Tolstoi).

Quotations from these thinkers are pertinent: "Disobedience is the true foundation of freedom: the obedient must be a slave" (Thoreau), "I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, facing only the essential facts of life, to see if I could learn something from it, and thus not discover at the moment of death that I had never lived" (Thoreau), "Freethinkers are those who are willing to use their unprejudiced and fearless minds in order. Although rare, this mentality is crucial for clear thinking, and without it, discussions often end up being worse than useless" (Tolstoy).

Alexander Supertramp uses the phrases "no cell phone, no pet, no cigarettes", "kill the false inner self and emerge victorious from the spiritual revolution", and "in order not to be intoxicated by civilization, he decides to run away". May 1992. "From history , oppression, law and obligations is absolute freedom" led us to that obvious allusion to the same concepts already mentioned.

The journey of this two and a half hour story with Alex (Cristopher) makes you see things in life in a different way. It is so marked the detachment of everything material and what is not important in life and shows us how it is to take a path that for many would seem crazy but personally for Alex it was the best decision and it was what he wanted to do with his life. The last minutes of this film that shows us wonderful scenery of different places especially forests and large mountains, leaves us a phrase that stays in my mind and I think that whenever I see something about this movie I will remember it and it is that "Happiness is truly real when it is shared".

  2. Into the Wild (2007): a journey to self discovery | un viaje hacia el autodescubrimiento@cristiancaicedo1298d

Based on a true story Basada en una historia real

There are movies that are beautiful and motivating for almost any viewer. It is true that motivation is something subjective and that we enjoy more the stories that are related to our passions; however, almost regardless of whether you like to travel or not, if you would be able to do it or if you dream of a life like the protagonist of this story, I think that when finish watching it, everyone feels the desire to take their backpack and explore the world.

Into the Wild is a film written and directed by Sean Penn (yes, the Oscar-winning actor) and starring Emile Hirsch, along with other well-known names in the industry such as William Hurt, Jena Malone, Vince Vaughn, Kristen Stewart, Catherine Keener, among others. The tape is based on the book of the same name by Jon Krakauer, which in turn is based on the notes in Christopher McCandless's diary, so it is a true-life story. Although film adaptations always take certain powers to modify some aspects, it is true that the young McCandless, leaving the university at the beginning of the nineties, leaves his home, his parents, his sister, abandons his possessions and donates all his savings to charity to get away from the civilized world heading, first to the road and then with the intention of heading into Alaska to get in touch with the wildest nature for a few months in which he will live isolated, alone, using only what he carries in his backpack and that desire to connect with the nature that surrounds him. From the time he leaves home to the point where the movie ends (I don't know if the book ends the same way) two years pass. We are talking about two years during which McCandless dedicated himself to living experiences, getting to know places and people here and there, escaping from a society and a social structure that he hated.

Many teens run away from home because of rebellion, confusion, or defiance of authority. However, in the case of Christopher it is a journey towards the center of himself. I think that rather than running away from a society and a role that has been assigned to him within it, Chris goes to the wildest of nature to find himself. It is one thing to be dissatisfied with reality and believe that it would be better to live in a different way and another thing is to change your lifestyle, give yourself to what you want to do and truly live it.

Chronologically speaking, McCandless first graduated, then began traveling all around the country taking odd jobs here and there so he could scrape together some money for certain legs of his journey, and then he set a goal of heading into Alaska and surviving in the wild. However, I think that one of the successes of the film is to break the narrative linearity and use different flashbacks to evoke situations. His adolescence, Alaska, the different places where he traveled (Dakota, California, Colorado), the different people he met (Jan, Rainey, Wayne, Tracy, Ron) are shown in a line that alternates the last part of the adventure with all the steps that led to it, which makes the viewer more active and immersed in Chris's experience. In addition to the great editing, the film has beautiful photography, an excellent script by Sean Penn himself and an original soundtrack by Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam vocalist) with which he won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song by Guaranteed.

I don't know if everyone, but many of us have felt the desire to leave our jobs, our homes and live away from the material world. Society, government, institutions, the law, banks, the church, many times constitute ties and man, a being that is supposed to be free, lives locked up, enslaved, caged in a routine, like one more gear within a machinery. Leaving all that and dedicating yourself to living a life that revolves around love, happiness and nature, to be able to enjoy an afternoon by the river, a night in the woods or simply contemplating the beauty of the world seems to me a natural desire, is The Call of the Wild by Jack London, a book that greatly influenced McCandless's character as did other readings of Tolstoy and Thoreau. If you have air to breathe, the blue sky for a roof, and you can contemplate the sunsets, the rivers, the ocean, what does a university degree matter? Why think about social security contributions? I believe that the kind of freedom that Chris aspired to is a natural impulse of the human soul, the desire to escape from the prison that we have built for ourselves throughout history.

Into the Wild is a film that inspires and reinforces that desire in travelers. If you like seeing new places, taking a bus anywhere, camping, trekking, that kind of thing, you'll love this movie (although you probably already know it). And if you don't like it or you haven't done it, I think this story will make you want to take a backpack and escape even for a couple of days to the woods, to the beach, discover the traveler who lives in you, asleep, lethargic by the work and social routine, and marvel at how vast and beautiful this world is and the people who inhabit it. Living a life based on that or having experiences that bring us closer to nature and to experience the love of others and towards others cannot be considered madness but one of the purest desires that the human soul can harbor. I haven't had a chance to read Krakauer's book, but I have it on my list, have any of you read it? who have seen this movie? I read you in the comments.

In this story our protagonist. Christopher Johnson McCandless ventures on a journey across the United States. in search of what he calls "the spiritual revolution", which we could say his own liberation. Christopher was born into a wealthy family where he had access to the best education. Once he finished his university studies, he made the decision to abandon everything and embark on a journey. On this journey, he would abandon everything, including his own name, and would be known as Alexander Supertramp. Throughout your journey you will meet many people who will help us understand your philosophy, beliefs and value system. The entire film is imbued with an intense idealism for nature at the same time as there is a marked contempt for society, especially materialism and narcissism.

I don't want to spoil the movie because my wish is that you see it, but we will study Alexander Supertramp a little. The film is divided into 3 chapters, the first one is called: "My own birth", this alludes to Christian baptism but from a secular perspective, Christopher has given himself a new name, he abandoned his family name in a clear challenge to society, we can then see the search for his own identity by a young man full of life and profound idealism, on his way he will always remind us of phrases from great authors such as Tolstoy and Jack London. In this way we can approach not only the life of the protagonist but also his beliefs, Alexander wants to go to the world to test himself and at the same time to discover his own path, his own family experiences serve as motivational fuel, since he does not want go back but go forward and prove everyone wrong, that life and its experiences could be different. Sometimes I feel that he is arrogant, but when I saw him for the first time many years ago I did nothing but identify with him, but now, from my own experience, I can see that when you are very young, impulse dominates reason, it is a beautiful but very dangerous trip.

Let's talk about nature, as it is part of the title and I feel that the story puts us in two perspectives on the idea of nature. On the one hand, the animal nature of the flora and fauna and on the other the human nature in culture and civilization, in very marked moments the film shows us this conflict to the point that it is difficult to know how to distinguish them since both worlds are the same indomitable and dangerous. Alexander Supertramp escapes from society for causing suffering, and for being based on lies and manipulations for his own benefit, he flees because he does not share that way of being, and he feels that nature offers him the true exit he is looking for. However, it is not like that, nature also results in a world as brutal as society, irreconcilable with man, it reminds me of the romanticism of the early nineteenth century, where European man after so many bloody wars feels that he must return to nature is why poets like Lord Byron left their mark, it is not in vain that he is repeatedly cited in the film. This diatribe between nature and society is what catches me the most, along with the performance of each character.

Within the film we will find many literary references, as I mentioned before there is a great romanticism in idealizing nature and life away from society but there is also a political intention in a very well marked realism. That is why Tolstoy and Thureau become Alexander Supertramp's bedside books, we know many things about the Russian writer, one of the most striking was his practice of abandoning everything to go live among beggars and thus learn from that other world that was not mentioned among the upper classes and intellectuals of the time, a sort of Les Miserables by Victor Hugo but in the Russian way. On the other hand we have the great individual rights activist Henry David Thoureu, famous for his maxim of the right to disobey, this intellectual advocated the most basic principles of the individual against the oppressive collective. In Alexander's journey we will see these great influences present in his thought, and thanks to them he will be able to resolve very human concerns.

As in every story, the family always has an important role, and in Alexander's life it is the reason for his attitude towards the world. Since he was a child, the family drama affected him in a different way as he was the eldest son, the suffering made him mature faster and understand the behavior of people, he had a life full of material luxuries but he always felt that all that was the curtain that hid a great theater full of tragedies and lies. His own family represents everything he despises in society, and by escaping society he is escaping what he considered great oppression. I cannot avoid considering his relationship with his family as the story of Gregor Samsa in Frank Kaftka's The Metamorphosis, for those who have read that novel I think it will not be difficult for them to establish a relationship.

Finally, photography does not go unnoticed, we have a display of good shots that focus very well on the spirit of nature, landscapes and paths are not placed randomly but play a role in the narrative, where sometimes we do not need the dialogues because nature speaks for itself. The contrast between society and nature can not only be observed in relationships but also between the architecture of large buildings and the height of trees and mountains, it is a fight for the soul of the protagonist that will leave you breathless.

My conclusion is that we are facing a great work of narrative that is not seen these days, it is a dose of good cinema that contrasts with the decadence of current cinema. Being a film based on real events and in turn taken from a book, it has great shortcomings, however it is what I expect from a film when it is telling me stories like this, I am not one of those who have conflicts about the book, because they are manifestations different artistic. It is a perfect work to live a good catharsis, and why not, experience the madness of Don Quixote to a lesser extent by identifying our lives with the experiences of the character. I recommend it with my eyes closed, if you are looking for a good narrative, a developed story and especially a story that catches you.

  4. Into The Wild: A true story, inspiring a timeless and hard-hitting message for us all.@lordtimoty1548d

I've been a bit quiet recently on CineTV - not sure how it happens sometimes, work gets in the way, the intention to write in your community gets put into another basket - but, perhaps that only leads to a growing desire to blog! (I actually started this post yesterday, but felt so compelled to re-watch this film that I stopped writing, and made a date with my tele that evening to get it fresh in my mind. It's on Netflix if anyone cares to hunt it down).

Today (well, actually, it was yesterday), I wanted to talk about the film, 'Into the Wild'. It's a most masterful film by Sean Penn, and it was released in 2007, starring Emile Hirsch. The film sits somewhere between mainstream and 'arty' - and that balance offers us beautiful scenery, a non-linear narrative, and dual perspectives running parallel through the film.

    image.png

The film itself is based on a true story about a young man, Christopher, who had finished his University studies and just had a moment where he felt his entire world was falling in on him. He had money, opportunity, charisma and education behind him - but he made the choice to give his life savings away to charity, to abandon the entire life he's always known, to hitch-hike across the country - and go, as the title suggests, 'Into the Wild'. - In this case, that is a metaphor for Alaska -

The film opens with Christopher arriving to the edge of his destination as a hitch-hiker, and walking through the snowy wilderness where he happens across a bus. This would become his 'home' and come to be known as 'The Magic Bus'. It is weathered, and dark - yet it provides hope and possibility that the voyage into the middle of no where would be successful.

The non-linear narrative then kicks in - as we're shown the series of events which led Christopher across the country. It begins with his college graduation - watched over by his dutifully conservative parents, who followed the American dream: build a career, have two kids, make money - yet, who are entirely distant from each other and their family. It's the opposite of what Christopher wants, as his parents insist they will financially support his Havard move - so that he can follow in their traditional footsteps.

He takes off - burning his money, cutting up his cards and identification. He loses his name, and his entire past - yet, in doing so, becomes someone knew, 'Alexander Supertramp'. This sets in motion his hitch-hiking adventures. His first stop, with an old hippie couple who are caravaning from place to place - it is a magical time, at sunset on the beach, that Alexander is able to speak to both of them, and appears to trigger something in them which would re-kindle their hippy love.

    image.png

From there, Christopher (or Alexander) takes to the Colorado river - his intention is to paddle up the river to continue his adventure, without a definite location in mind. Not long up the river, he meets a Swedish couple - who in a very short time, add some flavour to the script - probably unnecessarily - but they prompt the young traveler to take the river into Mexico - by ducking under the spillway. And so he does - including two shots from the film below, the river kayaking, obviously, but another shot of young Christopher with his boat on a trolley, largely because it is so interesting.

    image.png

    image.png

From there, the film takes us briefly into Mexico - and through a recount and cutting to memories, Christopher speaks to the border crossing guards about coming into Mexico and living in a cave - before eventually coming back into America.

The film is then punctuated by a series of shots from Christopher's positive experiences in Alaska - he's building dams, crafting a make-shift shower - enjoying nature and being free. The sky is clear and there's an aspirational tone to the pictures we're shown.

    image.png

    image.png

Back in the past tense, young Christopher works in a grainery, and fast food restaurants. Everywhere he goes, people want to help him in his adventures. In one memorable scene, he is being taught the basics of butchering an animal - what to do with the carcass etc. He is given one warning though, if the flies come and the maggots set in - the beast is lost. Back in Alaska, Christopher has the chance to shoot a moose - a significant moment, as shot after shot shows him putting additional belt holes in his belt, and the actor, Emile Hirsch, is physically losing weight scene by scene for the filming of the movie. In shooting the moose - you can see this becoming the watershed point, as the horrific scene, and blood covering his entire body amounts to nothing, as the beat is lost to the flies.

    image.png

Back in the journey narrative then - Chris visits 'Slab City' where he reunites with the hippy folk from his early hitchhiking, and of course, a potential love interest is introduced. At the 'Slab City' Christopher visits a make-shift church, where he hears about love and God. It adds a spiritual dimension to his quest - not in a traditional churched sense, but something far more pantheistic about finding one's true self, or seeing God, in the wilds of nature. This is an idea that we associate with the Romantic movement (think romanticism poets like Lord Byron and William Wordsworth). From there, he continues on to the hot springs, where he camps for a number of weeks amongst pot-smoking nudists. He has a chance encounter with an old veteran - and they speak into each other's lives. Christopher encouraging him to take risks and adventure, the older gent allowing Christopher to reflect on the importance of loved ones - a key theme which will emerge in the final minutes of the film.

    image.png

    image.png

    image.png

    image.png

In the final chapter of the film, the audience see Christopher grow weaker and weaker. He is living off berries, and because of the flowing rivers from the melting snow - he is seemingly trapped in his 'paradise'. He ends up eating poisonous berries - and while he survives, they only serve to weaken him further. It is becoming clear that he won't survive.

At the same as we encounter his physical weakness, we are continually engaging with a dual narrative from Christopher's sister's perspective. With his disappearance, the facades around his family have collapsed, and the entire family is struggling - it serves to show how Christopher's choices to be free and his decline are mirrored by what happens to his family.

As Christopher lays down to die, he revokes the name 'Alexander Supertramp' - learning to call things as they actually are. Without energy, in a state of starvation, the film depicts him looking into the sky - and shares his epiphany: Happiness is only real when you can share it with someone else - the irony is this discovery is made in his isolation - and then he dies.

    image.png

Rather than his life flashing before his eyes, the film makers imagine a reunion with his family - as if he'd made it home to share his epiphany. He wonders, 'What if...?' - 'What if I were smiling and running into your arms. Would you see what I see now?' - a challenge to the American dream, but a despairing realisation for him of its necessity in the human condition.

    image.png

Supers then flash across the screen, grounding the story in its true origins: Two weeks after Chris' death, moose-hunters found his body in the bus. His sister then visits Alaska to collect his ashes and return him back home.

    image.png

So why did film hit me so hard? I must have been about the same age, or close enough to it as the kid in the film. I was finishing my University studies, I was well set up, and had a family behind me that allowed big dreams and opportunity. With that, also came the weight of pressure. There was a sense of heaviness which came from my parents - they would often remind me about the king's ransom that they paid on school fees throughout my life, and they had every expectation that I would have a high profile career. I remember when I walked away from my Law degree and into Education, it broke my mum. So I got the film - I won every academic prize the University had to offer in my final year, and sponsored prizes external to the University - but it didn't seem to band-aid that I was going down a path with capped earning potential.

And then, this film hit even harder - as if the empathy it drew from me wasn't enough. At the end of the film, the young man had died in the wilderness. The elements had taken him. They flashed up his dates:

    February 12, 1968 to August 18, 1992.

For many people, these dates meant nothing - except for me, I was also born on February 12 - and it just made the film feel all the more powerful. I think I turned out alright, but the message of the film is a timeless reminder to focus on what's important in life.

  5. Into the Wild | Review | (ENG) (ESP)@kruznik71862d

    image.png

Into the wild is a film that shows us how a 22-year-old boy embarks on an extreme adventure in search of his own truth.

Christopher McCandless is a boy coming from a dysfunctional upper-middle-class family. His father is an authority figure who fills his ego thanks to his material achievements, having multiple conflicts with his wife, Chris's mother. This situation of conflict and materialism makes our protagonist seek freedom and spiritual enlightenment, the search for truth beyond love.

When he leaves the university, he plans a trip to Alaska and on his way he meets many people who are fond of him since he is a person who has an admirable vehemence and vitality. His eloquence and sympathy make the people around him see him as a kind of leader and seek to support him on his hectic trip to Alaska.

    Arabian Night Email Header.png

The film consists of five chapters that show us each phase of Chris's spiritual evolution on his journey, from his own birth to reaching the wisdom he longed for.

The company of nature, the voluntary isolation of a sick society and the enjoyment of the true self are Chris's premises in this film. He decides to get away from his family without maintaining any contact, detaching himself from any intimate contact with anyone despite having known many.

This was the case of a 16-year-old girl who falls in love with him and seeks to become intimate with Chris, but he maintains his chastity because he considers it a value that promotes spiritual evolution. This is an element that lies between the lines and is not explicitly exposed in the film.

The conflict between the city and nature is an important point to make if we want to understand the film. The feeling of being trapped in a spiral of materialism and a life without passion is what inspires Chris to take such a journey. He never had a phone and his detachment towards money is shown by donating all his savings to a foundation. His rejection of the system prompts him to the wild and the unknown, seeking the natural environment of man, freedom in contrast to the oppression caused by life in the city.

Chris McCandless is a boy who was passionate about literature and there are multiple references to his favorite authors such as Jack London and Tolstoy. His inspiration and refuge has probably been found in those books but the courage was obtained by not wanting to be the same as his father. The contrast between father-son personalities and Chris' rebellion was the trigger for this decision, a journey into the wild with an indeterminate duration.

How many of us have wanted to disappear into a mountain and only be able to hear the sounds of nature? The city offers us an illusory comfort, a path that can destroy our true sense of life, we focus on the neon and colorful lights, the commercials and the number of colors that distract us from what we can become or our true purpose, ending our convictions just by being influenced by the amount of irrelevant information that surrounds us.

I believe that each of us should temporarily move away from this environment. Nature greatly helps our psyche, this has been scientifically proven, a trip to the mountains, the beach or being surrounded by a purely natural environment can help us overcome internal conflicts and make us reflect more effectively.

The problem with our character is that despite his love of literature, his idealism and arrogance ended up with him. Life is for sharing, we are a social species and losing contact with all our loved ones forever is not the best option. We are not all the same, some need a more extreme escape but when we let our passions run our lives they will probably lead us into a vortex of chaos.

Over time I have learned that if we do not manage a balance in our life, our mind will gradually turn into chaos that will end up doing the opposite of what we want: oppression. A balance between our desires and what surrounds us can make us much stronger and more resilient to frustration. I am not saying that passions are not important but we must know how to handle them, everything extreme will always lead us to madness.

Chris as a result on this extreme path spends the last days of his life in difficulties. Nature shows him his most hostile side, without animals to hunt and to survive eating plants that end up poisoning him little by little.

The most incredible thing is that this story was real, Christopher Johnson McCandless existed and there are multiple testimonies from people who met him on his trip to Alaska. In the film we can see a bus that Chris calls "magic bus" which is his home in Alaska and that bus is currently a tourist attraction center. Chris's journey was chronicled in a book before being published on the big screen with the same name: Into the wild.

This film offers us an impressive adventure, beautiful landscapes and a liberating spirit, a young and passionate spirit that makes us want to travel and lose ourselves for a while, alone with nature. Traveling is one of the pleasures of man and this version of this pleasure reaches the limit in this work. In short, a film with an excellent message and an authentic philosophy. Fully recommended.

Totalmente recomendada.

  6. Into the Wild (2007)@minhajulmredol1919d

Many of us often get frustrated about our life and think of living a life far away. Maybe away from this brick made city and into the wild close to nature. This thought has also come across my mind due to many reasons. Haven’t you thought this way yet? I bet you did too.

    18538c30-f4cb-4f1e-a52f-f2c23472de57-d_wild_soundtracks_31.jpg source

Christopher, who is the main character here, graduated from college. His parents wanted to give him a surprise by gifting a new car but he doesn't want any, he is good with his old one. One day we see Chris left home with his car and a backpack leaving everything behind. Even he has donated all his educational fund around 24k usd to charity and left for nowhere. Where he parked his car at night, was a floody area and in the morning he saw his car stuck in a place. He decided to leave the car behind and took off the number plate so that no one could recognize the car, even he had burnt the money he had with him and left again by foot.

Well, a new adventure began for him. Now his life goes like asking for lift from the people. Meeting new people. Once he got a couple who were depressed with their life, on the couple the lady was depressed with her past life and was trying to move on with the man. Chris was also depressed with his parents' problems. Oh yes! Chris' parents too had many problems, Chris' father does have another wife and his mother is the 2nd one. Maybe this is the reason behind Chris' fed up attitude towards society. And he wants to end up in Alaska. He ran away from the couple too when he saw their problems getting solved and making love.

Chris was like a free bird, once he was forbidden to cross a river. He needed to get permission which would take almost 12 years so he managed a boat and left on his way towards the mexico. In the midway he came to another city but the city was not suitable for him, he wasn’t comfortable so left again. On his journey he met with many people, gathered so many memories.

Well, the most favourite part of the movie is the moment when he met with Tracy (Kristen Stewart). I am a big fan of her from the twilight saga. For me she was the most favourite part of the movie. Somehow she fell in love with Chris but Chris had two reasons for leaving her behind: one is she is just 16 years old and the other is his desire for going to alaska.

Well in the alaska Chris did realized that, "Happiness is real when shared" with a shaking hand he is writing on his notebook. This notebook contains all the experience of his journey. So what is the reason that Chris who left behind everything, is now realising that the happiness is only real when we share with the people, remembering himself in the arms of his parents.

Overall that was a nice movie. I did have some difficulties building up the story because the story was divided into many parts and some were being played from the past and some from the present but in the end you would understand everything well. So this was a good one, you can watch it too if you have some wish to leave for the wild someday leaving everything behind.

This film was made from a true story

I will rate it 7 out of 10.
