    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=429755)

This is a sci-fi action film directed by Luc Besson. The story follows Lucy, played by Scarlett Johansson, a young woman who becomes an unexpected experiment in a new drug that allows her to access extraordinary brain potential.

The plot is set in a contemporary context, where science and action intertwine to explore the limits of the human mind.

The film begins with Lucy, a woman living in Taiwan who finds herself trapped in a toxic relationship with her boyfriend.

Through a series of unfortunate events, Lucy is kidnapped by a gang of criminals who force her to act as a courier for a new synthetic drug called CPH4.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=429755)

This substance, which is produced in the bodies of pregnant women, is extremely potent and is used to enhance cognitive abilities.

Lucy undergoes surgery to implant the drug in her abdomen, but an accident causes the bag to rupture, releasing a large amount of CPH4 into her system.

As the drug disperses, Lucy begins to experience an exponential increase in her brain capacity, allowing her to access superhuman abilities such as telekinesis, time manipulation and the ability to absorb information at incredible speed.

As Lucy transforms, she becomes almost omnipotent, able to manipulate her environment and communicate with other humans telepathically.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=429755)

However, her transformation also distances her from her humanity, raising questions about the nature of existence and the meaning of life.

The film features a visually stunning narrative, with thrilling action sequences and innovative special effects.

As Lucy enters her new reality, she encounters Professor Samuel Norman, played by Morgan Freeman, a neuroscience expert who becomes her ally.

Together, they try to understand the phenomenon she is experiencing and how she can use her power to help humanity.

  2. A drug that increases our brain capacity to 100%? / Lucy / Review / (ENG/ESP)@lionsaturbix1256d

What can happen if our brain reaches 100% of our brain capacity?

That is an excellent question with which we can find the answer by watching a movie called Lucy, one that I had seen many years ago, but I wanted to see it again, but for life's sake I had forgotten what the name of this movie was.
So I was looking for movies similar to that one to try to remember the name or else find this movie, until I finally found it.
This movie is science fiction and action, the same was released on August 22, 2014, the movie may be very old, but it has a totally interesting story.

    CURIOSIDADES

    CURIOSITIES

Honestly, when I knew this movie many years ago I had never seen it complete, since at that time I was studying when it was shown on TV, so I was curious to know more about the story.

The movie makes reference to the curiosity of man and the accountants discovering that the human being has made about the mysteries of our brain, it is said that we do not have even 5% of the brain capacity.
This was a very interesting topic for me, since I thought that the human being was a very intelligent being for all the things he has managed to create over the years, but in reality it is not so.

    HISTORIA

    STORY

The story begins with Lucy (Scarlett Johansson), who is outside a kind of Asian hotel, on her side is her boyfriend who is killed moments later, but before this, her boyfriend tells her that she has to deliver a package to the boss of the hotel for him, which she refuses to do, but in the end she does it under her own will.

They discover that in the suitcase is a powerful drug whose reactions are still unknown, but what we will know is that it gives immediate effects.
So they assign him a job under his own will, so they try to put these drugs inside his body, just where his stomach is.

    imaghen.png

IT IS NOT A COMMON DRUG.

This drug for strange reasons creates immediate effects in Lucy's system, since she begins to feel a little strange, it is as if her humanity has been lost, but she is there among us, developing a brain capacity high enough to do impressive things.
In the movie we will meet Professor Norman (Morgan Freeman), who is doing studies and studying the brain capacity of the human being and the things he can become, this does not mean that you become a superhero like the ones we know today, this movie goes far beyond that and leaves us thoughtful in a brutal way, I really can not find better words to express what I felt when watching this movie.

It even scares me to know what kind of things the human being has discovered about our brains.

    imaghen.png

If I can say something about this movie in a way not to ruin your curiosity, is that it is not like others, that when one uses an object that gives you special abilities, the other also consumes them and gets them, in this movie that does not happen, here Lucy will try to avoid that and will do things that go far beyond our understanding.
What you see in the screenshot above was what made me think, I don't know if it was because of the lack of drugs or if it was that she was trying to do a teleportation, it was really some strange scenes that didn't make me think about anything else, although the movie makes you think that it was something else and not a teleportation, but I still think about that scene and what was really going to happen.

    imaghen.png

I don't know if this movie was perfect, I don't know if it still is with so many recent movies with better recording equipment and phenomenal editions, but what I am absolutely sure is that if you are a fan of this genre of movies, and you haven't seen this one yet, you have to see it.
I have managed to understand some things, but to do things like what we will see in this movie is too much.

This movie has a duration of one hour and 30 minutes, indeed it is the shortest I have seen in the years I have been watching movies, but the story is what stands out.
This movie has awakened in me many curiosities and mystery of our lives, having a weapon as powerful as our brain.

What if the headaches we sometimes feel are because our brain is trying to open a door to our brain capacity?
Wow, I really hallucinate with so much mystery, you have to see this movie to understand what I mean.

This movie is available on Netflix, below is the trailer of the movie so you can watch it.

  3. LUCY MOVIE REVIEW@sheikhshaon1426d
    [SOURCE](https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/magazines/panache/movie-review-lucy/articleshow/39408434.cms)

Hope all sci-fi movie fans are doing well. The most interesting and mysterious sci-fi movie I have seen in 2014 is LUCY. LUCY movie released in 2014 is an excellent creation of French director Luc Bensson. And those who have seen this movie, I hope they understand a huge change and difference in their thinking. Just as Bensson next to the name of the director of the movie is the first thing that comes to mind about the addiction of cigarettes, the movie also has an embarrassing scene of terrible drugs from the beginning to the end. And if a normal person sees this movie, people will accept more bad things than good things and how terrible and destructive the people's lives can be, you can see the scenes of the movie.

In the beginning of the movie, how a student is forced to be sent to drug smugglers and from then on how drugs get involved in that student's life and at one point the end result. It is also necessary to say that it does not take much time to think or understand how the drugs, which are naturally produced in the womb of a pregnant woman at a certain time, reach the hands of drug smugglers illegally. It shouldn't take long to realize how many devils work alongside good people in the laboratory.

A common diabolical idea of drug smugglers is to smuggle drugs from one place to another by surgically transforming the human body into a drug transporter. And the same is done with the main character Lucy in the movie scene. It is seen that the smugglers placed a packet of dangerous and highly valuable drugs in his stomach and sent him to the place where he was supposed to be smuggled. Unfortunately, the drug packet burst in Lucy's stomach as a result of the smugglers' kicks, and the cube quickly spread throughout her body. And immediately, Lucy noticed a huge change in her mind and body.

Soon a professor is seen giving a lecture on the human brain. The professor said that only one person has ever used 10% of his brain, and that is Einstein. And generally most people only use 4% to 5% of their brain and with that we have made all the inventions and advances in the world to date. He also said that the more the use of the human brain increases, the more the ability and knowledge of people will increase.

Lucy is then seen meeting the professor and telling him what happened. The professor realizes that with Lucy being able to use 50% of her brain due to the terrible drug, she begins to present the world-wide practice of false knowledge and false man-made lectures to everyone and really show everyone the facts.

And Lucy also understands that if this terrible drug spreads elsewhere, people and the normal world will become uncontrollable. And so he takes all four packets of drugs into his body and gives all the knowledge he knows and understands to the professor in the form of a pen drive and with that Lucy merges with nature. This is how Lucy gives her life to share the knowledge she has gained for the good of the present and the future. Hope those who watch the movie will reject the bad things and try to embrace the good things.

    Thank you everyone.

The existence of life on earth and the universe in general has always been one of the incognites larger than the human mind has been able to ask, it is a perennial mystery, that despite the different hypotheses that have arisen around anyone who has been able to confirm his veracity to one hundred percent, considering that he has been under study since time immemorial.

In the same way it happens in "Lucy" a science fiction film that has taken one of the myths of the intellectual capacity of the human brain to expose one of the so many hypotheses of the existence of the universe, which is based on the theory of time as unit, arguing that we are nothing more than just one thing, and that is the time who gives the legitimacy to the existence in general, thus discarding what we know today as matter, which allows us to perform calculations with what we understand as tangible.

Even though it is a simple assumption of facts, and that nothing of what it arises in this film is true, its outcome is very well sustained, to the point of wanting everything to be real and that the door of absolute knowledge is I opened completely.

Personally I do not stop surprising me with the argument, maybe it's because I do not have the slightest idea about science and logic, but even so I'll think about the real reason for the existence of life, of the luck, we had to have Awareness of this and the fragile and insignificant that we are at the immensity of the universe.

    L U C Y

The other day I was watching one of my favorite films again, I must emphasize that it is not one of the best films but nevertheless it has been one that in its time managed to awaken in me that instinct of curiosity, research and improvement in me as human being, and not just any movie does that, at least not in my case. I have to emphasize that this is my personal taste in movies, you may like it or not.

Lucy, a character played by the famous Scarlett Johansson, the film begins with Lucy having an argument with the partner she is dating at the time, talking about the inconsistency of the amount of money he earns for his work and between so much discussion everything ended in Lucy being a Mule, carrying drugs in her body, but it breaks and her system absorbs it.

    2we7.gif Source

If we go to logic we all know that the film should end there and show the death of the character, because the human body cannot really support the amount of drug that has been exploited in her body.

But since this is a movie, the drugs gave her certain abilities and powers, this movie is action and science fiction, so after Lucy having these powers, eventually she has a great ability to fight, of course not only that, a great knowledge, ability to use time, telekinesis.

At this point in the film we see the development of Lucy's brain activity, in the film they show it as a hypothesis, what happens when the brain uses all of its capacity? Well, in this movie that is what we try to discover with Lucy, from this point our character begins to feel absolutely everything and when I say everything, it is everything, air, space, gravity, she can control matter ...

It is really crazy, right? That was what I liked about the film, it motivated me to really investigate what the human being could do if we could really use our brain capacity a little more and reach levels exceeded by logic ... Although so far it is the same as in the movie, a hypothesis.

  6. Lucy (Movie): the best and the worst of this film.@cristiancaicedo2707d

"Life was given to us a billion years ago. What have we done with it?" those are the opening lines of the film

At the time it was the highest grossing production focused on a woman and became a box office success grossing eleven times its budget. Starring Scarlett Johansson, the movie was released in 2014, the year after another of her main movies, Under the skin, but I didn't see it until a few days ago.

In the film, Lucy (Johansson) is forced to transport a new drug, powerful and synthetic, in a bag inside her stomach, but after a violent incident the bag rips out, spreading the content inside her and flooding her blood system. From there, Lucy develops supernatural powers because her brain begins to increase the capacity of use until it reaches 100% use, becoming a lethal entity with extraordinary abilities, both physical and mental. She's not only capable of fighting and managing guns, or freeze people with the power of her mind but, as the movie moves forward, we realize she feels everything, she remembers everything and she suddenly knows evertythig. The premise that humans only use 10% of our brain capacity is well known and has been the subject of multiple investigations. It's assumed that increasing the use of this capacity would imply a development of skills, but to know for certain what would happen when using a high percentage of the brain is to enter the field of the merely speculative.

At the beginning of the film, the first sequences intersperse the images of what happens with Lucy with others taken from the animal world (mice and mousetraps, hunts), the first two or three cause some laughter for its symbolism, but the abuse of the joke makes it boring. Another thing that didn't fully convinced me was that first, when she acquired those skills, Lucy started a violent revenge against the drug traffickers who intruded her into the matter. She looks like a whole femme fatale that first uses a weapon and then doesn't need it because her mind functions as such; but then the story derives, thanks to the intervention of Professor Norman (Morgan Freeman), towards the responsibility that Lucy has with humanity to bequeath all the knowledge that she has acquired so suddenly. There's a scene in which Lucy converses with Professor Norman and other colleagues of his and explains:

"Humans consider themselves unique, so they've rooted their whole theory of existence on their uniqueness. One is their unit of measure — but its not. All social systems we've put into place are a mere sketch: one plus one equals two, that's all we've learned, but one plus one has never equaled two — there are in fact no numbers and no letters, we've codified our existence to bring it down to human size, to make it comprehensible, we've created a scale so we can forget its unfathomable scale".

And the she concludes: "Time is the only true unit of measure, it gives proof to the existence of matter, without time, we don’t exist". The scene is kind of tangled, it reminded me of the conversation with the architect in The Matrix, so it's possible that you may requiere see it several times. But once you understand the message, you realize it's a very interesting idea and, to me, the best part of the whole movie. It's as if the director Luc Besson had come up with that idea (explained on that scene) and only for that reason he sought to justify the making of a whole movie around it, adding inconsistent details.

Of course I've seen many movies worse than this, but many better ones too. It's a kind of science fiction thriller about the human condition and the abuse of drugs. The central premise had already been addressed by Limitless in 2011 (I think that in that other movie, the details were worked a little better), which takes off a bit of originality from Lucy and there where it's original, it's somewhat excessive, imposed, forced, lacking of fluency in the script, consistency in the plot and plausibility in the construction of the argument. I think the box office success was mainly due to Johansson's fame and not the film as such. For me, it's a movie of 5/10 and I don't recommend seeing it or don't seeing it. I recommend seeing the scene of the conversation, but for the rest, it's an action movie that seeks to entertain and, if one decides to ignore the inconsistencies, at times it achieves that.

  7. Lucy (Film): Review.@martinmcfly2814d

Starting from an intentionally simple plot, the film tries to build an unstable building that mixes an existential story with elements of action, the origin of the universe with frenetic persecutions through the streets of Paris, and all over the shoulders and heels of Scarlett Johannson.

    Source <<

    ---

Year: 2014 Category: Science Fiction Director: Luc Besson Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, Choi Min-sik, Amr Waked.

    Plot

Scarlett Johansson plays Lucy, a kidnapped woman who is unexpectedly involved in a murky drug trafficking affair. When a bag full of an unknown synthetic substance that transports in his stomach breaks, he acquires abilities never before developed by the human being. Lucy then begins her revenge. His brain capacity will be developed progressively, endowing it with powers and reaching the limit of the unknown when it reaches 100%.

    Opinion

What would we be capable of if we use the whole brain? If each of the millions of neurons that make up the human brain functioned at once, could we become a superhuman? That is the premise of this movie.

Lucy starts the movie being an ordinary girl, we could even say that she is not very smart, among other things because she is tricked by an untrustworthy friend, which introduces her into a problem with the gangsters, causing them to force her to transport an experimental drug inside your body. Then, and because of that, the drug ends up penetrating his body, so Lucy becomes a superintelligent woman, and her brain begins to perform better than other humans.

We could place the film within the fantasy genre because of its dominant concept, however, in visual terms the film becomes an action movie, with violent mafias, where the weapon scenes are shown to fill the empty spaces of the plot.

The best thing about the film is the presence of Scarlett Johansson, who is completely committed to her role. At the beginning of the story we see the vulnerability of his character in a situation limit, and as the plot progresses, she is the only one that gets the viewer to sympathize with the evolution of his character.

    Trailer

    Score

    5/10

I think the film is regular, it can serve to pass a time when you do not have something better to do, since you do not need to use 10% of your brain to understand it, but if your time to watch movies is scarce, I recommend seeing another movie instead of this one.

I really enjoyed this movie. The visuals are fantastic and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is above average for sure. This movie is stunning and captivating all the way through. The ending was a little lack luster, but overall I would definitely watch it again.
