  1. Marry My Husband || Series Review@jhymi819d

After my second to the last series review, which was the revenge-themed one, I said I had another series in mind with the same theme. This particular series has received a lot of hype from international K-drama lovers and even though I wasn’t keen on watching it due to personal reservations towards the female lead, I finally gave in.

    Marry My Husband (2024)

Marry My Husband is a 2024 South Korean Television Series written by Shin Yoo Dam and starring Park Min Young (Kang Ji Won) and Na In Woo(Yoo Ji-Hyuk) as the female and male leads respectively. It is based on a web novel with the same name, which had also been made a webtoon series. It has just one season with sixteen episodes.

    Summary of the Plot

The series is originally set in the year 2023 where Kang Ji Won watches her life wither as a terminally ill, gastric cancer patient. With a selfish husband and an even more demanding mother-in-law, Ji Won doesn’t see herself living long. After being asked to leave the hospital since she cannot pay the bill, she goes back home unexpectedly to find out that her husband and her best friend are having an affair. She even hears them contemplating on why she hasn’t died yet so they could benefit from her life insurance and whether or not they should kill her themselves since she was taking too long to die.

Ji Won listens to all of this with a broken heart and confronts the unremorseful duo. She gets into a somewhat physical squabble with her best friend who tries gaslighting her into thinking that everything is her fault. Her husband, flaring up, pushes her onto the glass table, shattering it to pieces and dying almost immediately.

Kang Ji Won wakes up to find out that she’s in 2013, which is ten years earlier and begins to live her second life. And now determined not to suffer the same fate as before, she tries to get her manipulative best friend to take over her destiny and marry her husband instead while also making sure she lives her best life this time around without having any regrets. She meets Yoo Ji Hyuk who unknown to her, shares a similar fate with her. Can they make the most out of their second chance before history repeats itself?

    My Review and Rating

Putting my reservations aside, I loved almost everything about this series. I usually approach revenge dramas with a lot of scepticism because many times, while the plot may be good, the implementation of the actual scenes could fail to deliver. However, in this series, each episode brought in new insight that was followed dexterously and impeccably.

I also loved the characters. The manipulative and psychotic best friend played her role so perfectly, it gave me a startling insight into the world of backstabbers, false friendships and wolves in sheep’s clothing. Without mincing words, every character aside from the usual K-drama cliché, interpreted their roles meticulously and made the entire series even with how annoying it was at some point, quite enjoyable.

But of course, there are a few things that grated on my nerves in almost the entire duration of the series. The most glaring to me was on the subject of sexism and misogyny. In almost every episode, certain male characters would make a lot of sexist and misogynistic comments. I didn’t have a problem with it at first because I felt like as with the introduction of a theme, the subject would soon be expounded upon and corrected.

It was saddening when I figured that there wasn’t going to be any correction. So statements like, “That’s why women shouldn’t be allowed to work,” and “That’s how women are...” prevailed a lot in the series and would meet silence or a somewhat amused look like they were acceptable remarks. Up until the end, no one stood up to correct any of the misogynists and it was a pain to watch, honestly.

While I can’t vividly pinpoint any other flaws, this one weighed heavily on my mind which is why I had to bring it up. Overall, from the plot, story interpretation and ending, the series delivered. The suspense was real and at certain moments of discovery, I felt the emotion deeply, which is not something I can say strongly in a lot of movies as they are mostly quite predictable.

Overall, I give Marry My Husband* 4.1/5 star ratings. It’s an intense watch but you’re sure to smile and even laugh at certain places. Totally recommend it to all my K-drama lovers.

  2. Marry my husband | K-dramas review@josehany835d

My God, since the pandemic happened I think I'm betting on these K-dramas, they make me addicted more and more and there isn't one that I've seen that has made me lose interest, why do they make them like that?

Marry my husband, is a story that I saw on TikTok over and over again, whenever I was scrolling I found a piece of the series and I always said: "but what is this, where can I see it?" And by the way, many of the parts didn't even know belonged to the same series, I discovered later.

When I finally found it, I started reading the synopsis and it shocks you just reading it and you think, Oh starting strong! It goes like this: When a woman witnesses the affair between her best friend and her husband, and she is murdered by them, her fate sent her to the past and she decides to seek revenge. By the way, you can find this series on Prime Video

The synopsis literally tells you everything in that little bit, I'm not giving away spoilers. Plus all that happens in the first episode. What I like about these series is their development, although you almost always know how they are going to end, it is interesting to see it, also how they have been adapting to the public with some small modifications to their customs, just for the series.

The main character is a woman named Kang Ji-won, in the series they show us pieces of her past life and really what she experienced was not pretty at all and I think that death was the best thing that happened to her at that time, especially because in the series already tells us that she travels to the past, but this time she goes for revenge but not only that, she will also try to change her destiny and do things a little differently.

At first we see how the relationship seems to be in a false love "triangle" because her best friend was also in love with her husband or so we thought but the reality was different, her friend was envious...

The truth is a quite dramatic story, and leaving aside everything fictional, there are things that really happen in real life, for example, the supposed best friend who ends up betraying her, is a mythomaniac and surely has a mental, compulsive, unreal condition. But putting all this aside, there is a message which is that we can always make decisions and those decisions will take us somewhere, at some point we realize where we are going and if we don't like it, we start to change the decisions we will make henceforth.

  3. Reviwe K-drama Marry My Husband, Maximize Your Second Life@nnurdiani841d
Hello everyone, how are you? Hope you are doing fine. Not long ago, I watched a K-drama. To be precise, finishing this K-drama. The name of this K-drama is Marry My Husband. This drama has the highest rating. I don't attach much importance to the cast of this drama. But, I like this drama.

    sinopsys

This drama is about second chances. A person in 2023 named Kang Ji Won, played by Park Min Young died, but instead he traveled through time and returned to 2013. I call it a second chance at life. In her future life, Kang Ji Won married Park Min Hwan. However, it ended sadly.

Kang Ji Won died because he was pushed by Park Min Hwan. At the same time, Kang Ji Won witnesses Park Min Hwan's affair with Jong Soo Min, Kang Ji Won's best friend. Can you imagine Kang Ji Won's feelings? When Kang Ji Won woke up in 2013, Kang Ji Won was determined to change his fate. Does not suffer from blood cancer and is married to Park Min Hwan.

    Reasons for Watching this Drama

    1. Adapted from Webton
I am interested in watching this drama because it is adapted from a famous webton. I'm curious about the ending of this story. Is it by the ? or has changed? At first it was just that. In terms of ending, it is indeed a happy ending. It's just that there are changes in several parts, where one character is added, namely Oh Yura, who is Yoo Ji Hyuk's ex-fiancee.

    Source

    1. Second Life Is Time for Revenge
Kang Ji Won maximized her life in this second chance. Kang Ji Won, life makes the most of herself. Never attacks and is not always enthusiastic about living his life. In her previous life, Jang Ji Won was taken advantage of by her best friend, Jong Soo Min. There are many things that Kang Ji Won owned, but Jong Soo Min took them away. But, in her second life, Kang Ji Won really looked after what she had. Including work.

    1. The beginning of the story is packed with comedy
In this story, the character Park Min Hwan is a comedy character. On the other hand, there is a picture of the annoying story of the character Park Min Hwan. That's what's interesting in this drama. This story is packaged a little fresh and fun. Starting from how to propose to Kang Ji Won in his first life which was simple and without any effort. Love questions but it becomes very comedic

    1. Men's Deception
Park Min Hwan uses Kang Ji Won to get married. There were many sweet words that Park Min Hwan said to Kang Ji Won. The thing that I don't like is that Park Min Hwan always insists on kissing in the office warehouse. That made Kang Ji Won uncomfortable. In fact, Park Min Hwan deliberately went completely naked so that Kang Ji Won could be invited to sleep with him. That is disgusting.

But, in her second life, Kang Ji Won was not entangled in anything by Park Min Hwan. To pay off Park Min Hwan's debts, Kang Ji Won became a victim. Starting from asking for savings, being scolded to being asked to marry in order to get an inheritance from Park Min Hwan's family. That's the only story I can share, see you in the next story.

    Rating : 8/10

  4. CASATE CON MI ESPOSO 2024 Mejor Imposible My Opinion REVIEW (Esp-Eng)@emilyross37849d

    ccme6.png

Hasta la próxima publicación, Dios los bendiga.

    English

Hello my dear Hive Community. Blessings to all especially to Dorama lovers. This time I have brought you a South Korean TV series, full of drama, revenge, love, hate and fantasy, it consists of 16 episodes and is directed by Park Won-Gook, and written by Shin Yoo-dam, it is ** MARRY MY HUSBAND 2024,** starring **Park Min-young, Na In-woo, Lee Yi-kyung and Song Ha-yoon.

    ccme3.png

    What is it about?

This story begins with a woman Kang Ji-won (Park Min-young) in a hospital bed waiting for chemotherapy, as she is suffering from terminal cancer, while her supposed friend Jung Soo-min (Song Ha-yoon) comforts her, gives her support, and hope to overcome the disease, after the chemotherapy is over, She gets the bill and realizes that her husband Park Min-hwan (Lee Yi-kyung) did not make the deposit, so she takes a cab to her home, when she arrives she finds her best friend and her husband in bed, mocking her, she angrily attacks them, but is pushed by her husband and falls backwards, breaking a glass table with her head and dies.

But it turns out that life gives her another chance and she goes back 10 years. What do you think will she take revenge? What will happen to these traitors. Will she be able to change her destiny?

    ccme4.png

    Personal Opinion

I am going to start this opinion with a question: Who would not like to go back 10 years and correct mistakes made by bad decisions that damaged our future? Personally I would sign up, take better care of my health, study medicine and eliminate disturbing people from my life. It is a series that teaches us to make better decisions otherwise we can't turn back time to make amends.

It is a spectacular series from beginning to end, loaded with a lot of suspense, fear, anguish, where each chapter becomes more exciting than the other and its plot is taking turns, where you jump out of the chair or bed eager to see more, you are speechless.

    ccme2.png

In this dorama Marry My Husband, they present painful but very real situations such as the case of the betrayal of what she thought was her friend or HALF ORANGE as they were called, she was always envious of him, and she never realized it and the betrayal of her husband, who only wanted her to get money, added to that the abuse committed by the mother-in-law who always humiliated her. But life gives her a chance to start over and will give everyone what they deserve.

In one of the scenes, looking for her friend to forgive her, she decides to throw herself into a lake, but not before telling her, you know I can't swim, however she tries to save her, and realizes it's a lie, she grabs her and tries to drown her, I was impressed with the crazy face she had.

I also liked the scene where Park Min-hwan grabs her and she was learning self-defense and was able to defend herself, applying a spin, very good, comical and exciting scene.

    ccme5.png

Just like in the Science Fiction movie The Butterfly Effect, where the point is that when you alter or change the past, it will affect your destiny or that of other people around you, what is happening with Kang Ji-won's Cancer was passed on to a co-worker as well as the betrayal of her husband.

This is a series that reflects the extent to which human beings let themselves be crushed or humiliated, all for not defending their rights, for living in submission, always thinking of others, such as not making her friend feel bad, thinking that Jung Soo-min's father abandoned her for her mother.

A comment that is not relevant, but I wanted to give them is that in the Korean series always advertise certain products shampoo, lipstick, vitamins, among others, but it has always caught my attention kopiko coffee candy, must be good.

Friend I will tell you that betrayal hurts too much, but revenge is not good, it kills the soul and poisons it. However well by Kang Ji-won and Yoo Ji-hyuk 100% recommended, it is very good, I hope you see it with a good soundtrack, it is a spectacular series loaded with many suspense, let me know what you thought, Kisses and Hugs.

Until the next publication, God bless you.

Hello, people of the internet, everything ok? Today I want to tell you about a story that I really like, and many people ignore that this Drama is actually a novel (book) and that the series is based on the Manhwa (Korean comic) which in turn is an adaptation of the book, so, while everyone is reviewing it as an independent series, I will do it as an adaptation, talking about what I liked the most about one and the other etc.

When we go through a bad moment, we tend to think: Would it have been different if I had done things differently? "If you had a second chance to make amends for your mistakes... would you do it? would you do it?

For Jiwon Kang life was always grey, abandoned by her mother and although her father tried to provide her not only with sustenance but with love and affection, she always had a lack that she tried to fill with the unconditional friendship of her childhood best friend, Soo-min and her boyfriend and later husband Min-hwan, however, after being abandoned by her husband in a hospital with terminal cancer, Jiwon returns home only to find out in the most vile way that both Soo-min and Min-hwan are together and are waiting for her death to collect her life insurance. After an argument, Min-hwan accidentally kills Jiwon (though she doesn't regret it) and upon opening her eyes, she wakes up 10 years earlier at the company where she worked when she was still just Min-hwan's girlfriend. Once she becomes aware of this, Jiwon takes her second chance to make her "best friend" end up marrying Min-hwan and get her old life back with all the evils that come with it.

Let's start by talking about the story which is the best aspect of both the Manhwa and the series. I have to say that when your starting point is too good, you have to stick to it to keep it at the same level, after all, you are adapting the same story and I have to say that the series did this very well from the beginning, although there were changes I liked and some I didn't, the ones I didn't like had a good closure at the end and didn't change the ending I expected (just like Manhwa).

The performances were great, each of the actors deeply studied their character and made it their own, I even loved the comedy moments they gave to Min-hwan who in Manhwa didn't have any, he was just despicable, misogynistic, violent and selfish, however they gave a funny tinge to some of his scenes as well as with Mr. Kim who ended up acting as additional comic relief, that is to say in the Manhwa the comic relief falls on Yoo Hee-yeon who for his rambunctious personality (something uncommon in Korea) is seen with strangeness and grace by those around her and that leads to many funny situations, however in the series added, as I said, comic moments with Mr. Kim and Min-hwan that were very funny.

    image.png

    Fuente

What I feel was unnecessary is the character of Yura who doesn't exist in the Manhwa, the truth she was unnecessary, she doesn't contribute anything and she is only there to take away Soo-min's role as the villain, in fact I didn't like this character (the actress did it well, I mean she acts well but the character was unnecessary) so every time she appeared on screen I wanted her to disappear, I was bored. I was afraid that this character was going to change the story and her ending (which had been perfect in Manhwa) fortunately it didn't (which reinforces the fact that Yura is unnecessary to the story) and an irritating character. She could be gone and it doesn't affect the plot as we already had Soo-min and Min-hwan to be the villains and the ones who bring the problems to our protagonists.

Another thing I must say is that in order to give Yura the image of an empowered, strong woman and crazy villain, they made Min-hwa look like a wimp in front of this character, so much so that he almost didn't feel like a real threat to Jiwon who was also being protected by Ji-hyuk, at least in the end they worked him a bit better.

There were events that were not in the series that I feel were essential, one of those and most important was the death of Min-hwan's mother at the hands of Soo-min, as this fact, her way of playing the victim in the situation and pretending are impressive, it is also the key part where Soo-min passes the line of being malicious, hypocritical and victimized to be a murderer and therefore is the beginning of her decline, which makes her go into paranoia and try to attempt to attack Jiwon, in addition to this, there is the death of Min-hwan which was at the hands of Soo-min, however it was in self-defence to tell the truth (which takes away the touch of madness and takes some of the responsibility away from Soo-min), In the Manhwa, he dies from driving drunk too fast (upon learning of his mother's death) and with his brakes altered because he himself had done it hoping that Soo-min would die when he used the car to collect his life insurance, ending up in a crash on a bridge, catches fire and desperately jumps into the void, dying on impact against the water. To me, that ending was perfect, because first of all it was more lurid, secondly, it was self-inflicted, and thirdly, Soo-min indirectly had a hand in it, because if Min-hwan's mother hadn't died, he wouldn't have left the house at that time.

What I found a bit serious is the part of Ji-hyuk's story, it was explored too much and although the part of her "ending" was quite sad, Manhwa did it better, and I say it is serious because a comic book should not convey more sadness than an audiovisual work, that is, it is not only drawings and letters, but we have a whole staging with sound, I feel that it could have been better worked. Also in Manhwa her family history is better, her father married a woman who already had a daughter (Hee-yeon) so she and Ji-Hyuk are really step-siblings, however, since they grew up together as children from that union they love each other as if they were blood brothers, in fact Hee-yeon's mother accepted and treated Ji-Hyuk as her own son, which gives us a very nice arc where Jiwon's mother-in-law (Ji-hyuk's mother) defends her from her biological mother, and then the whole Yoo family makes her a dinner for her birthday, making Jiwon feel again the warmth of a home, which she lost when her father died, it seems stupid but it was an important aspect that wasn't in the series.

In other respects, however it is spectacular. The locations are beautiful and eye-catching, the scenes in the forest with the U&K employees leaving were great as well as having very nice shots whose framing enhanced the purpose of the scenes. Costumes and make-up were also great, especially when it comes to Jiwon as her "new self" has a presence mainly with the clothes she wears, from having an unremarkable look to practically looking like a model.

The Sountrack is also very good, but this is something I expected for a drama, as South Korea is one of the top countries in terms of entertainment and art.

Me despido hivers, abrazos.

I also applaud the acting of Lee Yi-kyung as Park Min-hwan and Song Ha-yoon as Jung Soo-min as the bad guys of the series, I felt angry and even wanted to kill them, hahaha. Especially to Soo-min, who seemed like a good and innocent friend to Jiwon, but she was really a psychopath. In short, the series is very good and I invite you to watch it, I hope you like it as much as I do. I say goodbye hivers, hugs.
