  1. Moana: A Journey To The Heart Of Adventure@justfavour1023d

    ▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Hello everyone. Today, I'm delighted to share my review of one of my favorite cartoons, Moana. I love cartoons and cheesy movies. My friends and siblings always say cartoons are meant for toddlers and kids. Well, goo goo gaga. I love cartoons, and I didn't think calling me a toddler could make me stop watching cartoons. They say humans tend to outgrow certain activities or interests as they grow older. It's a natural part of life's journey, well, let's see how it goes. Currently, I'm still so much in love with cartoons.

Recently, my friend wrote a post about Nostalgia. Nostalgia can alter our perspective. One reason why people don't enjoy watching cartoons is because what they come across now does not live up to the expectations they had in childhood. Now that they are grown, they think cartoons are silly or not as interesting as they remember. What people do not understand is that there are a lot of perks in watching cartoons, not only will you learn valuable lessons, but they can also help improve your learning ability. I'm pretty sure if you give Moana and other interesting cartoons a chance, you'll become a cartoon lover in no time.

I remember the first time I watched Moana. I don't remember the exact year, but I'm sure I was still in high school at that time. Back then, I was on a Facebook group for cartoon lovers. Literally, everyone in the group watched the movie before me. I got home from school one day and downloaded it. I fell in love with the film almost immediately. It was love at first sight. The songs in Moana are super catchy. The songs add to the charm of the movie. I've watched Moana more than 10 times, and I can recite the songs word for word. My favorite song is "You're Welcome.” The opening lines of the song are quite catchy. I love it: Okay, okay, I see what's happening here You're face to face with greatness, and it's strange You don't even know how you feel It's adorable Well, it's nice to see that humans never change

Moana is an amazing movie. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a solid 9. Not only are the songs super catchy, but also the plot is interesting. The plot follows a Chronological structure (although flashbacks were used ), which makes it quite easy to understand.

Here are the sources of the images I used in the video.

Hello, internet people! Yesterday I just finished watching this movie that at the time (i.e. when it was released) was a big hit. At first I can say that personally I wasn't impressed but it's not a bad film either and it has some amazing elements, but we'll talk about that in the post part by part.

I have to start the review talking about the history, and it is that history takes part of real life, according to historians, 2000 years ago the navigations across the pacific ocean stopped completely for approximately 1000 years and just like that, they started again, no historian has been able to find the reason for this, so Disney took the mystery in his hands and gave a reason for the stop of navigation.

The story is set in the Polynesian islands and is about a girl who is chosen by the ocean to return a magical stone to its resting place. To do so, Moana (the main character) must find Maui (a demi-god) to help her in her endeavour.

The truth is that the film is not very dynamic, I was 40 minutes into the film and nothing transcendental had happened, the good thing is that it doesn't get boring because it has good jokes and dialogue. The characters are quite empathetic and funny, moreover their interaction and chemistry feels very genuine and well developed.

The cinematography is the best thing that the film has, it is extremely beautiful and I could say that it is one of the best I have seen, the shots and the visual section are amazing, it has a wide palette of colours, accurate and beautiful, you will fall in love with it. Both in day and night scenes, the colour palette is in perfect cohesion, it has warm, cold and neon colours, the aerial and wide shots are the protagonists and give the opportunity to perceive beautiful landscapes of the Polynesian islands, I think I have no words to say how precious this section is.

The soundtrack is also beautiful, very appropriate for the film and personally it gave me pleasant sensations and made me want to go to the Polynesian islands.

The music is beautiful and I love the performance of the voice actors because they don't just sing and that's it, they perform, they act while singing according to what is going on around their characters and what they are doing. My respects to these people

I thought the character design was beautiful and accurate, the costumes of Moana's people are beautiful, I also like the dances and culture seen in the film, which certainly works to help with tourism in this region because clearly all of us who saw the film want to go to the Polynesian islands to explore the culture in real life.

And while we're on the subject of characters and visuals, the design of the ocean is amazing, it's extremely realistic, full of details and a beautiful colour palette, it's the main character and that's why its design is so well cared for.

  3. Old but gold! [Moana: Movie review]@teknon1516d

I know a lot of people have seen the animated movie Moana. Disney's Moana washed up the shores of cinema in the year 2016 and I had the opportunity to watch it over and over again after its first premiering.

    Screenshot_20220505-075847_1.png

Yesterday was no exception as I came across the movie and had to rewatch it because it's a movie I can't get tired of.

Moana is a very interesting movie to me and teaches a lot of morals of which one is being courageous. From childhood, Moana was different from the rest of the children and had no serious interest in living the village life even though she loved her island. Her zeal and ambition for adventure made the ocean choose her. She was the perfect choice to go on such a risky journey of replacing the heart of Tefiti which Maui had stolen out of greed.

When I watched the movie for the first time, I thought Moana was somehow gonna get in a love entanglement with Maui as almost every Walt Disney movie I've seen ends up "with a happy ever after" love life but I was totally wrong.

    Screenshot_20220505-075919_1.png

She's the second princess after Merida not to have a love life and that is quite interesting because I figured that out when she placed the shell from the sea amongst the stone placed by the different generations of chiefs Moroni ever had. Maybe her lineage was gonna end with her because I don't see anything that can fit on the shell she placed amongst the stone.

Directed by John Musker; Ron Clement, I think the directors chose the perfect characters for the different roles assigned to them. Dwayne Johnson voiced the beautiful Maui role and seeing how bulky Maui is, it's only appropriate that he's voiced by Dwayne Johnson. I always admire his strength and beautiful tattoos. I'm just a very big fan yuuno.

    Screenshot_20220505-075736_1.png

Auli'i Cravalho also voiced the amazing, strong, unwavering Moana with great navigational talent and a love for adventure and the sea.

    Screenshot_20220505-075659_1.png

How can I leave out the amazing village crazy lady Moana's paternal grandmother "I guess I chose the right tattoo" I can't forget that statement just as much as Moana can't. Granna Tala, though older than Moana, formed an incredibly strong bond with her sea voyaging granddaughter. She is Moana's best friend and is played by Rachel House. I wish I had such a grandmother who wouldn't be scared to tell me the history of lineage but push me to greatness but instead, the reverse is the case.

Beyond the sweeping story, it's the lovable and amazing characters that help surf up Moana's magic to fulfilling her dreams.

Quite a very interesting watch, old but gold. Every time I watch it, I get new vibes and it never bores me out. I don't know about you.

    BANDA SONORA

    English

Hello to all the Hive Community, receive from me infinite blessings from GOD, today I am going to review an animated film produced by DISNEY it is MOANA, directed by Jhon Musker and Ron Clements.

    What is it about?

It all begins on an island called MOTONUI when the grandmother told the children stories about how the evil in the form of a demigod called MAUI steals the heart of TEFITY goddess of nature causing all crops to be lost little by little, as well as the appearance of a Demon of Earth and Fire called TEKA, Moana as a child was attracted to the sea without imagining that she was the one chosen to carry the heart of TEFITY, Once grown up MOANA dared to go beyond the reef but could not pass because the boat was not appropriate, when she reached the shore her grandmother took her to a place where there were amazing boats because her ancestors were sailors, before dying her grandmother gave her the heart of TEFITY and asked MOANA to go to look for MAUI and force him to return the heart before the island is destroyed, **On the way, she is shipwrecked on an island where she finds MAUI, who leaves her locked in a cave, she escapes and chases him with the help of the ocean, from there together they begin their adventure, first with the pirates KOKOMORA , then recover MAUI's bait which was in the depths of the sea on top of a crab covered with gold, called TOMATOA, then they face TEKA until finally MOANA arrives to the island to discover that TEFITY was not there and realizes that TEFITY is the Demon TEKA, she returns the heart to TEFITI having a surprising ending watch it for sure you will like it.

    Featured characters in the film

    • Moana: Daughter of the Chief of MOTONUI Island, warrior, adventurer, risk-taker, she dreamed of traveling like her ancestors and going beyond the reef.

    • MAUI: Demigod of the Wind and Ocean, shape-shifter, warrior, strongman, egocentric and boastful, he was the most audacious, he stole the heart of the Goddess TEFITY and unleashed the destruction of the islands, at first without feelings, but little by little he was filled with love and appreciation for MOANA.

    • TEKA: It is the real TEFITY transformed into an Earth and Fire Demon.

    • TEFITY: She is the Goddess of Nature.

    Soundtracks

It is a musical animated film where songs like: An innocent Warrior, Tuloi Togaloa, You re Welcome, Shiny,The Return to Voyaging, We Know the way and lastly How far iII go, in others, play an important role in the movies, highlighting the character of MOANA, I found them very cute, beautiful lyrics, emotional and appropriate, especially How Far I'll Go sung at the end of the Movie.

    Personal Opinion

I think Disney had a great success with MOANA, it is an entertaining animated film told very carefully from the beginning when emerged from the ocean the mother island called TEFITY whose heart gave life to other islands, and thus the emergence of their enemies to seize the heart, is undoubtedly one of my favorite movies, it is wonderful, at all times full of adventures where all kinds of feelings are mixed tenderness, sadness, hatred and love, as was the hatred of MAUI and the friendship that arose between him and MOANA, very incredible scenarios and animation effects, as they were: The one of MOANA when she was a little girl is called by the sea very well achieved the scene, The Demon of TEKA when she goes out in search of MOANA was amazing. The transformation of TEKA a demon of Earth and Fire in TEFITY the Goddess of Nature. Perhaps we all carry a MOANA inside wanting to change the course of our lives but we simply do not dare, we are not able to move forward, fear holds us back, she got what she always wanted to travel like her ancestors and discover new adventures, so I invite you to travel the seas with this beautiful girl you will like it, you'll see.

  5. Movie Review: Moana@thatanimesnob3008d

So I watched Moana and boy, what a lazy movie it was. So full of good ideas, squandered on a passable family movie. And yes, I know it’s Disney making a family movie, but it had all these ideas that would make a great story if they were taken more seriously. The premise of the movie is basically the whole world dying because of what someone did and they treat this catastrophic event as an annoyance instead of something actually serious.

The protagonist is Moana, an absolutely average Disney princess type of character that wants to say no to being stuck in a life of safety and luxury. We’ve seen it a thousand times by now, it’s nothing that stands out or even something logical in the longrun since these types of sheltered characters do not know anything about the outside world and are in effect useless on their own.

And I have to point this out about her which is one of the many things they didn’t bother to clarify. Why is everybody fine with a girl being their leader? Do they have gender equality on this otherwise primitive island? If they do, they never showed it because any other leader we see in their history was a guy. Combined with how she doesn’t drown 1 minute after going into the sea with zero experience further proves this movie is empowerment fantasy for little girls instead of a movie where talent and intelligence matter.

But it’s ok because the scriptwriter did his worst to plot armor her from any possible danger. Because you see, the gods chose her to be the one who restores the world, thus every time she falls in water, a magical wave takes her on the boat. When she doubts her abilities, the ghosts of her ancestors appear to motivate her. She is essentially a plot device fully controlled by the plot instead of doing what she wants and facing the repercussions of her mistakes.

And if you think calling her the chosen one properly excuses all the nonsense, it doesn’t because the gods make no sense. Why did they wait a thousand years to do something about a disaster that has killed most of the islands, and of all people why did they choose a little girl with no skills or experience of the outside world? They never explain it.

Do you know what else they didn’t explain? Why her pet pig doesn’t grow up. She begins as a little girl and grows up to a teenager, but the damn thing remains a piglet throughout the whole movie. Nobody in the production team gave a shit.

The problems don’t even stop there. The first thing she has to do is find Maui, a demigod who has been stuck on a barren island for a thousand years and is the only person who can save the world. He is also the one who doomed it, so that makes sense. Also, for a guy who spent a millennia all alone without something to eat or do on a tiny island, he sure looked fine when she appeared. Disney went so safe and lazy on him that he is nothing but a cool guy who does cool things and has absolutely no sex drive, or psychological trauma for being left alone all this time.

Accompanying them on their journey is a retarded chicken. It’s the most annoying comic relief animal I have seen in my life. It’s not funny, it causes more trouble than aid, and they never eat it although they never seem to have enough food. How the hell did it get on the boat in the first place? Moana didn’t take it with her, it just appeared out of nowhere in the secret cave nobody had been in for centuries. Nobody in the production team gave a shit.

You probably think I am being too harsh on what is supposed to be a dumb movie for kids, when I’m not since they clearly put effort in fleshing out the characters in a way that demands from the story to be better. Moana’s father has a good reason for not letting her out in the sea. Maui has a good reason for why he keeps going on adventures and tries to impress the mortals. Even the villain of the movie has a reason for why she is evil. These are really good stuff, and they are ruined by the lazy script.

If the movie was like that in all its aspects, I wouldn’t be bothered by it. But when you set it up in a way that obviously raises the bar like that, the disappointment multiplies when you treat your good ideas like a joke. I can easily sum up all these problems as cheap resolutions. Everything is fixed way too fast despite the problems building up for countless years. The father changed his mind way too fast and lets his daughter sail in the sea, Maui changed his mind and returned to help her without even showing us how, and the goddess forgives Maui instantly, despite causing her pain and suffering for a thousand years, as well as wiping out the life of countless islands and filling the sea with monsters. Hell, even the disease that was slowly killing the islands went away in a few seconds despite spreading slowly for centuries.

This movie is so freaking lazy. The pay-off is not worth the build-up, its ideas are not used properly, and all you end up getting is a generic Disney princess and a retarded chicken.

  7. Moana Movie Review--Great new Disney Songs--and no prince in sight.@mctiller3499d

I’m a father and I have a daughter.  It is the law that I take her to the new Disney movie, whenever a new one appears.

    Moana is the new movie.

Disney has reentered the movie musical era again and they did a superb job with it.  Lin-Manual Miranda helped write one of Disney’s memorable scores.   “You’re Welcome” and “Shiny” are the two most memorable new songs.

Moana is the daughter of the island chief, and is being raised to eventually lead the tribe.  A standard Disney princess set-up.  But this time around there is no prince involved.  No prince to win anyone’s heart is nowhere to be found in this movie.

    The Story

Moana purpose is to help save her island and people, from the darkness that is spreading across the ocean, caused by Maui when he took the heart from Te Fit, an island goddess who gives the gift of life.

The demi-god Maui, played perfectly by Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, is the reason for the darkness that is spreading across the ocean.  Moana’s parents insist though that their island is safe, and their people are safe, as long as they don’t go beyond the reef.

Don’t go beyond the reef, is repeated often.  So you know where Moana is going.

    The Characters

The movie includes the regular characters, the over-protective father, the crazy-yet-wise-sage, the animal sidekicks.

But it also includes some newer characters.  The Kakamora are tiny coconut pirates, with a huge pirate ship, which could have come straight out of a George Miller Mad Max movie.  These are wonderful characters.  They’re sort of a mean minion.

Moana’s pet chicken has been described by the director, “as the dumbest character in the history of Disney animation.”  Interesting to have a character so purposefully stupid throughout 99% of the movie.

Tamatoa lives in the world of Monsters.  (What a great concept by the way.)  And he has the most interesting song of the movie.  This scene could be a little scary for youngest viewers.  I though was thoroughly enthralled with his scene.  When Disney can work in bioluminescence into a scene, then color me impressed.

What caught my attention was how realistic the water was animated, because even the ocean in this movie is a character.  Which begs the question how much longer until we get fully digital humans that we can’t tell if they’re digital or real flesh.

    Overall

I appreciate the movie, because everyone is nuanced.  Maui is introduced as a bad guy.  But eventually we learn his real story, he isn’t a cardboard character.  The main monster, the lava monster, Te Ka, even has a backstory.  Even bad guys have a past.

The movie is enjoyable for both children and adults. The songs are among Disney’s best.  And the characters are very enjoyable.  The animation is pretty to take in.  I would recommend Moana for children 5 and up.
