Here we go with my second spoiler free review, this time its gonna be Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.
First of all I want to say thank you all for the support in my first/previous review. I got a lot of love from you guys! All the support through votes or comments means a lot to me! <3 Let's talk about Moon Lovers! It is a series from 2016 year and it has 20 insane episodes, it took me so long to start it as for some reason I've been allways choosing other titles, but recently I gave it a try and I went in love with this series. It is again a Korean series. The stuff sitting behind this masterpiece is:Director: Kim Kyu Tae
Screenwriter: Jo Yoon Young
and the genres are: Historical, Romance, Fantasy, Melodrama
it also features big actors like Lee Joon Gi in a Wang So role or IU in the Hae Su role, with this tier of actors, the show can't go wrong.
I love the combination of genres - the Fantasy with Romance, on top of that we get beautiful historical vibe and the melodrama is making this peak rollercoaster.
What is Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo about?
I would call it Korean Game of Thrones, why? Because it is about the Throne, but not only. There are a couple aspects that this series focuses on: Love,Throne,Living in a different place, realizing some important things in life, but we gonna talk about it later. The action happens again in both words modern day South Korea and Goryeo Dynasty. It starts with a girl who is living in a modern day south korea - she doesn't really want to go on with living anymore as shes been struggling a lot in life, her boyfriend cheater on her, she was struggling financialy. Her whole life was breaking a part. She was thinking about giving up on life, but then she noticed a drowning child - she went to rescue him as nobody else cared about it and se drowned too. Did she die? No. She suddenly appeared in a Goryeo Dynasty in a body of girl called Hae Su. Hae Su was in a very important family, and at those times families were everything. Her maid was worried about her and everyone else was too. She said she had lost her memory after hitting her head on a rock and from there on she went to explore the new world. She somehow go into a castle with all the royal family and met some of the current princes. From this time on shes been trying to find her purpose in this world, she started building connection with all people. There were a total of 13 princes, what relations is she gonna build with them? Is she gonna meet the king? What will happen with the throne? All the 13 princes fight for the throne and not only for that but also for love. I'm not gonna go into what happened to Hae Su, as it would be a spoiler, but believe me, one girl - one throne and 13 princes, some wanting to be with her, some hating her, things go really nuts there. Why do I love this series?
- First thing: As allways in Korean TV shows, it is a music. Soundtracks were really amazing, making the show unforgetable. My favorite soundtrack was called "Can You Hear My Heart". I still listen it on youtube, even now when I'm writing this post.
- Second thing: Goryeo Dynasty times - I allways prefered a modern day times as I could have immersed myself in it more because this world reminds me of my own, but honestly ones I started watching more and more Goryeo times I realized - those times were so different, they have insane vibe and I started loving those times. With no PC, no social media. Kings, Queens, Princes, Throne, everyone fighting for their place in this corrupted world, its just insane.

- Third thing: I loved the characters, especially the 13 Princes - when most series usually have male lead, female lead and a couple of side characters, Moon Lovers bring to us way more characters and its not just some side characters, all 13 princes were main characters, everyone with different looks, persona, goals. Honestly I liked all of them. Even those that were publicly hated by reviewers, I still loved them all. They all had something good for the show. Do you remember the drama with Game of Thrones when one guy was hated so much? In Moon Lovers it doesn't happen, cause even if you hate someone for what hes doing in the series, he usually have explainable logic behind his actions.

- Fourth thing: As allways in Korean series, emotional rollercoaster. This series does this very well. You laugh to then cry. It brings all the emotions out of you. Betrayals, helping each other, turning on one another, conspiracies, fighting for the throne, fighting for love. Its just one huge emotional rollercoaster.
- Fifth thing: Concept of Power/Love/Family. I'm not gonna go into more here because I don't want to spoil anything, but what do you think what is more important for you? Power ? Love ? Family ? In this series characters have to constantly make those decisions, with each of them choosing something different.

- Sixth thing: Cliffhangers - this series is so good at that, every episode literally ends with a cliffhanger, that makes you want to watch one more, until you finish it in one or two days at max.

- Seventh thing: Hae Su and Wang So - honestly this girl can't be disliked. She is so heartwarming. She doesn't give up, allways does her best. Watching her is literally like an anti-depressant. Her smile is beautiful and her attitude towards life is truly insane. On the other side we got a cold, depressed Wang So, they both went through a lot but both have different approach to life. Looking at them figuring things out on their own way was really satisifying.

- Eight thing: Many different couples, not just one, not just two. There were many different relationships in the series. I'm talking about gf-bf relationships but not only that, also between brothers, family. Watching this series I felt like I'm all the time connected with them, cheering for everyone.
So basically that's all the points why I love this series. I could write about this series for hours, but then I would need to spoiler something as I'm currently tempted to do it so much, but as I promised I will make a spoiler free reviews, so you guys can go watch the series and have fun like I had. My final score would be:
Soundtracks: 9.5
Characters: 10
Story: 9.5
Scenery: 10
Making it overall a 9.7/10.
You might ask why I gave 9.5 for story not 10? Its just because I didn't like the ending. It just didn't end the way I expected it. For someone else it might be a perfect ending, but its not for me and the music, yea I loved some of the soundtracks, but comparing it to other series, there was not that many of them, mostly a couple of INSANE ones repeating. However the show still ends up one of my favorite ones, I had a lot of fun watching it.
I really recommend everyone to watch this series, give it a try atleast 2-3 episodes and then see if you like it. Feel free to comment and share your experiences with Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.
