[Moview review] [Eng | Esp] Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre@jrjaime847d
Welcome my dear traveling agents of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, it is no secret that Jason Statham is one of my favorite actors, the simplicity of his films of concentrating on violence and exquisite combat choreographies It is simply something that I really like, which is why when I came across the film “Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre” I didn't think much before watching it and enjoying good fights. Without further ado, prepare to investigate an illegal sale of highly dangerous weapons because we are about to begin.

The soundtrack is pleasant, it results in a somewhat generic section but that broadly accompanies the various moments of the plot in a good way.

The world-building is as expected, various places are presented throughout the film that serve as settings for different events, however, outside of that they don't really have any kind of other function or relevance outside of that.

The plot results in something simple but pleasant, the film fulfills exactly what it promises by providing good moments of both action and somewhat funny moments. Narratively there is not much, it is a film that is style over substance so there is not much complexity to its credit, however, it knows how to maintain interest through well-established and highly enjoyable choreographies. The duration is adequate, it gives it enough time to develop its premise well and introduce exquisite moments of violence, there is no kind of complaint regarding this.

The characters are quite basic, in general terms they have a fairly decent characterization and have pleasant interactions, other than that there is not much to highlight.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre is one of those films that you want to see just to delight in the different scenes of violence it contains, its simple premise makes it very digestible, and, in general terms, the film fulfills what it promises, which is to provide good moments of action. It is for all of the above that it deserves 3.5 stars out of 7, a film in the purest Stathan style so those who like his style of work will enjoy it without a doubt.

A few days ago I sat down to watch The Covenant, a movie that I highly recommend and that is about the war in Afghanistan and all its implications, which was directed by Guy Rtichie. I was talking about how this director is quite good and versatile and when you look at his entire catalog of films it is very diverse and with renowned titles: he made Sherlock Holmes movies, King Arthur and of course, Aladdin, yes that one with Will Smith in 2019. How is it that a director does not have a marked and determined genre and launches works so varied and that have a certain quality? - I do not know, the thing is that The Conevant was the gateway to seek to see this film today as it was the one of the few that I was missing.
Operation Fortune is a strange film because it combines two genres, or at least that's how I perceived it, action and comedy. I am a fan of Jason Statham for two reasons, he is one of the best fighting actors in Hollywood, if not the best, and because in almost all his films there is always a touch of humor, not to the point of being a clown but with characters with eloquent phrases and a strong personality. It's not a laugh-out-loud story, don't get me wrong, but there are actions that at least bring a smile. This does not mean that there is no action, there is and there is quality action, so yes, it is a pretty rounded film. But well, let's go and talk a little more about what it's about.
This story is led by Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) a spy, one of the world's top spies, who is called to perform a job, another one for his extensive catalog of missions. This time he has to stop the sale of an artifact which nobody knows what it is but which is supposed to be a big threat. One of the details is that no one knows where the artifact is so he will need a team to help him track it, a team which is basically made up of two more people: Sarah Fidel (Aubrey Plaza) and JJ (Bugzy Malone) and all of them hand in hand with Nathan (Cary Elwes) who is the handler and supplier. A somewhat dysfunctional team at first but they find a way to click to complete the task.
Within this plot we must name Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant) who is the villain, a billionaire who is allegedly behind everything. With the cards on the table this team gets down to work and begins a chase through various parts of the world with the already known intention of finding this "weapon" or lethal "technology". That this movie is a cheap copy of Mission Impossible? - Maybe, it has certain nuances that remind us of Ethan Hunt and his team. But if we get meticulous we could also say that it resembles a James Bond film and if we go further to one of Charlie's Angels; in the end I think it all depends on the eyes that look at it.
Since it is not an entirely action movie, many times the story enters a kind of plateau, that is to say, it starts at the top very entertaining with tension and adrenaline and then goes down and settles in this flat area where it stays for a long period of time until the last 30-45 minutes where it goes up again and tries to finish as well as possible. With this I don't mean that the film is boring, at least in my case it wasn't, but it is true that I missed a little more action since the one that was there was quite good and acceptable. We must also understand that maybe the director's vision was not to make a film entirely of action but to have these lapses not slow but more of a construction of the background of the story so that it had more depth.
As for the action scenes we see where there is the occasional chase, exchanges of gunfire, snipers, helicopters and hand to hand fights I have to say that I ended up pleased because they were good jobs and this is thanks to Jason who as I said is one that always delivers good fight sequences. There is not one scene where he is in charge of punching and kicking that is boring, he makes them all look incredibly entertaining, he is an actor who has a very well worked martial arts skill that makes everything visually look very fluid. In that department and I repeat I have no complaints, everything is very well done, plus Ritchie is behind everything which is a guaranteed guarantee.
In this plateau I told you about, what do we see? - Well, this is where we see a bit more comedy. It's not that this is a movie where you're going to laugh a lot, but there are dialogues and interactions that are made to show and deliver a bit of humor, I feel it's like a kind of complement that goes hand in hand with the construction of the characters. I don't know why I saw some of them as very caricatured, as if they were a parody, which ends up making it impossible to take them seriously. This happened to me with Hugh Grant's character, I feel that he is the living image of the cliché of a bad character, it's like saying that he was overacting on his own character, a weird thing that maybe only happened to me but in the end that was the impression I got.
Orson is the typical Jason Statham character, the bulletproof and punch-proof guy who is able to take out 5 men at a time with 2 punches. He also has an innate humor when it comes to interacting with others, this is not new either but it's okay, it's like his signature. A character that I did like is Aubrey Plaza, she is generally spectacular, but here she has a grace and charisma that injects the story precisely that, freshness and another air. Her role is not to pull punches but rather to be the thinking head of the team, I liked it. The rest is what I've been saying, nothing special, all being very average with nothing important to highlight.
I really give this film a 7/10, I think it could have been better than it was in the end. It's not a bad movie but I was expecting something else, it's perfect for when you have nothing to watch, you won't get bored, I guarantee it, but don't expect fast-paced action from beginning to end. It has a running time of just under two hours and you can find it on Amazon Prime and Apple TV. As always I leave the trailer here for you to take a look.

›Eng-Esp|| Personal Thoughts on Operation Fortune.@wongi1112d
In life, there are movies and there are movies! Movies with an exclamation mark are the ones that leave the viewers with so much satisfaction; the reverse is the case with movies without the exclamation mark. Today, I'm going to review a movie! I'm probably very late to the party as this movie was released on the 4th of January 2023 but, it's better late than never.
Operation Fortune:Ruse De Guerre is an action movie with a difference. I'm not an action movie fanatic but I would say that this was an interesting watch.
Genre:spy action, comedy
Director:Guy Ritchie
[Source](https://youtu.be/i7K_38HtNSA)
Plot.
Operation Fortune is a movie about a team of people who are on a mission to retrieve a deadly weapon from the tight grasp of two billionaires. Led by Orson Fortune, the team members are willing to do whatever it takes to retrieve the weapon. Like every other action movie, there is a villain or in this case, a competitor.
All the casts swing into action from the third scene, unflinched and very determined. There is an array of 'action' with a mix of comedy. A person who doesn't understand sarcasm would definitely miss out on the jokes.
Cast
The movie is starred by:
Aubrey Plaza as Sarah
Sarah is the IT prodigy in the movie. She was the brains behind the hackings and every other tech related thing. On the inside she gave off the 'geek' energy and on the outside, she could take up literally any role. Sarah was one very dynamic cast who did justice to her role.
Jason Statham as Orson Fortune
Orson Fortune, who happened to be the leader of the team, was the front man. While in action, he called the shots and detected the roles of the rest of the team. I wouldn't want to emphasize too much on how Orson performed but he is one cast that knows his onions. He performed marvellously.
Hugh Grant as Greg Simmonds.
Greg was somewhat the middleman in this operation. He played a magnificent role in the movie. At some point, he made a decision that I didn't see coming, a satisfying twist.
Josh Hartnett as Danny Francesco
Danny was the movie director who turned an alley. He was used as a pawn in this game and for someone who never got involved in games like that, he acclimatised nicely.
Cary Elwes as Nathan Jasmine
Nathan was the head of the team. By head I mean the person who the rest of the team members, including Orson, reported to. Nathan called the shots from the comfort of his office and he did all he could to ensure the operation went smoothly.
Bugzy Malone as JJ Davis
Essie Marsan as Naorman
Peter Ferdinando as Mike
Opinion.
Operation Fortune was an interesting movie to see. I liked how the plot of the movie had certain twists, making it hard for the viewers to predict what would happen next. The movie kept me guessing. At some point, I thought that Orson and Sarah had a connection but it turns out my thoughts were wrong.
One other remarkable thing about the movie was the mind games and strategic thinking. At some point, I thought certain actors would flop but the speed with which they covered up their tracks was amazing.
One part of the movie that stood out for me was when Orson went back to get the rest of his team members who were on a different mission and site. He swooped in with the jet like superman and guess what? He was right on time. Don't get me wrong, it's not his saviour role that stood out for me rather, it's the fact that the movie portrayed the importance of team spirit at that point.
Recommendation
I'd gladly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to get a feel of a satisfying action movie or to anyone who wants to learn a few things about team spirit, tactical thinking and above all, unity. I'd give the movie a 7/10 rating; to reiterate, I'm not an action movie fanatic.
With love, wongi ✨

Llegó justo a tiempo.

›Rewatchable! Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)|| Movie Review.@esther-emmanuel1189d
I have missed Guy Ritchie's work since 2021 and having him back this year just made my movie experience for this year an unforgettable one. His long break from filming hasn't been in vain because Ritchie brought more adventures for his viewers and I can't wait to watch all his unfinished projects. I am anxiously waiting for them. Guy Ritchie will always be one of my favorite directors in Hollywood.
"Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)" is a spy action comedy that was directed by Guy Ritchie and written by him with Ivan Atkinson, and Marn Davies. It was distributed by Lionsgate, TX international and Amazon Prime Video. It starred Jason Statham (also part of the producers' team), Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone, and Hugh Grant. This movie revolves around Orson Fortune (Jason Statham), a spy who was sent on a mission to retrieve a stolen technology device before it is sold to the highest bidder on the dark web.
The movie starts with a raid scene in a research facility where a gang of Ukraine mobsters raided and stole a high-tech device called "The Handle" which is worth billions of dollars. After stealing the device they set the facility on fire to cover their tracks and destroy potential evidence.
The device was handed over to Greg Simmons, an arms dealer to help them sell it to the highest bidder. Knowing full well that the device could cause chaos in the economic system of the world was in the wrong hands. So the British government summons Nathan to help retrieve the device.
With the British government backing up Nathan, he hires a spy, Orson Fortune, and a team of special people with talent to help with the retrieval of the device. Sarah Fidel and JJ Davies who are part of the team traveled to Madrid with Fortune looking for the professor (courier) that was paid to transport a hard drive containing the data of "The handle" device. Things didn't go well because another team that was also hired to retrieve the device Intercepted Fortune's team. At the end of the tussle, Fortune's team got access to the hard drive first.
So later on, Fortune's team discovered that the information on the hard drive will lead them to Greg Simmons, the arms dealer, who plans to host a Charity Gala event in Cannes. So they decide to attend the event in identity disguise with the help of Simmonds' favorite movie star, Danny Francesco. Will Fortune's team succeed with its mission? Will the high-tech device be retrieved? You have to watch the movie to know.
My Favorite Characters.
Statham as Orson Fortune
Jason Statham handled his role like a champion, the way he always does. I enjoyed his performance and also I got to see a little bit of his serious side since there wasn't much humor in the movie. He acted as a highly trained professional spy with an eccentric and serious personality which is23 unlike Jason. He is also referred to as an expensive spy who loves vintage wines and requires a specialized team to work with and flies only in private jets during missions but in the end, he comes through in an efficient way.
Aubrey As Sarah Fidel
Sarah stole my heart with her performance. I was so impressed with her and I say she was the queen star of the movie. She acted as an efficient spy who is good with computers and also good as an undercover agent. She was much more fun than Fortune, she was the comic relief and she also was able to bring dark humor into serious scenes which made the movie entertaining.
Bugzy as J.J. Davies
I think I have developed a crush on Bugzy Hahah. Don't blame me! He acted as a New recruit to Fortune's team but still, he was very efficient and capable of the tasks given to him. He was a cool, low key yet dangerous kind of guy, conservative and intelligent. He stole a little spotlight with his performance for me even though his role was meant to be minor and overlooked.
My Review And Rating.
This movie is everything you are looking for in a spy movie. It is like the intense version of "The Man from U. N. C. L. E". It also absolutely delivers a fun and clever storyline as it has a few similar features to "The Gentleman". If you enjoyed those two movies by Ritchie mentioned above, you would enjoy this one.
The plot was perfectly written and it has a narrative that is easy to follow. The storyline is showcased amazingly so that you never get lost in the flow and the end was resolved in a less tense manner but with promises of a tale that brings more adventures. It is also filled with plenty of witty dialogue that reminds me of the James Bond franchise.
The characters were built well with enough backstories to help the viewers connect well with them. Also, let's not forget the amazing screenplay which I commend Ritchie for his good work. The scene arrangements were fantastic, the setting is excellently done, and exotic shooting locations, stylish cars, and costumes.
The action scenes were tightly paced, well-arranged, and fun to watch. Action scenes were also shot well in a quick and energizing way that keeps the viewer anxious and glued to the screen in anticipation of what happens next. Also, the CGI effects are done excellently and believably because I think most of the scenes were shot in actual real locations.
One thing that I didn't like about this movie is the fact, the soundtracks were too loud, did match some scenes and it made some of the action look rowdy and scattered. Apart from this flaw, I have not any other complaints. I feel this movie hasn't yet reached its targeted audience due to the fact that the movie is buried under negative reviews and critics. Ignore it all and watch this movie. You won't be disappointed or regret watching it, that I can promise.
A financial atomic bomb about to go off? Don't stress, or maybe you should (for those who aren't crypto enlightened), after watching this action-packed film by Guy Ritchie, one of my favourite directors. Another thing: this film features one of my favourite actors, Jason Statham! There's never a dull moment with this tough, suave guy and as such, you can be sure this film is attention-grabbing and packed with intense adrenaline pumping scenes.
Why is the world banking system always a centre of attraction and point target of attack in action novels and films? I hope this is not some sort of prediction and warning. It's possible that its happening for real and Guy Ritchie, writer, producer and director, thought it better to bring it to us via our screens.
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023) is a spy crime thriller that focuses on Orson Fortune (played by Jason Statham), a tough and rebellious spy who is recruited by the British government to find a missing device called 'the handle' stolen by some Ukrainian hitmen. The device is very important as a billionaire arms dealer, Greg Simmonds (played by Hugh Grant), is hired to sell it.
*[Source: YouTube](https://youtu.be/BR-YRm2bAB8)*
Orson is paired with two operatives: a computer expert/hacker and a hitman to retrieve the device before it's sold. To get close to Greg Simmonds via a fundraiser hosted on a yacht, Orson blackmails Greg’s favourite actor, Danny Francesco (played by Josh Hartnett), to join his team to infiltrate Greg's world.
As this team enters dangerous grounds to retrieve this special device, their lives are threatened. Will Orson Fortune succeed in handling the situation or will a former British agent gone rogue beat them to the device?
Review
Guy Ritchie is known for some notable quality works like Sherlock Holmes films, The Gentlemen, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Wrath of Man etc. I have watched all of these and more. I can attest that there is a class to his films but Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre may have surpassed them all.
This film brings back memories of action/crime thrillers made in the 90s. I'll say the entertainment industry no longer makes films like this anymore —films with captivating plots, a hit cast, compelling performance and great visuals. They are getting fewer.
For a movie of one hour, fifty-three minutes viewing time, the action is superb and draws in the audience. It is also fast paced. It begins from the very first minute of the film till the last. This means if you have a short attention span, you will stay glued to your screen as you see this film.
The cast is outstanding. Their acting is top notch and they exude great chemistry. I've always loved Jason Statham in action. Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is a cross between Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible and James Bond movies. I'm not sure how the stunts were done but Jason Statham did not pull his punches. His fight scenes are impressive.
Apart from Statham, another cast member that captures our attention is Audrey Plaza. Her performance as Jason Statham's badass computer expert and sidekick is excellent. I feel her talent is underutilised and she should have been given more to do. An interesting character to watch out for is billionaire George Simmonds played by Hugh Grant. His humour is endearing.
The cinematography and visuals are superb. In addition to the action scenes, the film focuses on dangerous business deals and the parties trying to outsmart each other. The dull and not-so smart parties end up becoming the losers.
The exotic locations and sceneries caught my fancy. They are cool to watch (and daydream of, if you are like me), the action and combat scenes kept me on the edge of my seat and the humour nailed the film as lovable. I think Guy Ritchie has out done himself with this one.
Any Guy Ritchie films are classics, in my opinion. If you are hoping for a film that showcases fun, action and clever storytelling, then Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre is the one! If you have seen Bullet Train and The Gentlemen, you will absolutely love this one!

Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre - Miramax
Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre It is a film directed by Guy Ritchie (we will remember him for his work on Sherlock Holmes and its sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows). We must remember that he was also Madona's husband between 2000 and 2008. It is written by Guy Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, and Marn Davies. In between we will have Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone, and the incredible Hugh Grant.
The premiere of this film will be for January 21, 2022 as it appears on the networks, although in the trailer it only announces its next premiere. I honestly like these kinds of movies, mostly because they're refreshing. The cinema is sometimes a bit like food, one day you are more selective and the next you eat a Hot Dog. Personally I love to diversify all the material that I consume. I wish you a pleasant surprise on your day.
